For those who want to take the el cheapo route, the new EverSD firmware supports Retroarch with a nice frontend for easy access to emulators and games. For those who want to invest in the Evercade ecosystem, there's always the cartridges. Basically it has backwards compatibility with all previous Evercade carts

Is evercade the anti piracy, please buy our proprietary carts company? Or am I confusing them with someone else?
I mean they have to pay licence fees to have the games available to sell
they very much are a legit business, but that also didn't stop people from dumping the cart firmware and making their own sideloader for CFWs
The design seems decent although I have to question the d-pad. They seem to have went for pocketable with the shoulder buttons at the expense of ergonomics. Looks like a mono speaker but at least it's front-facing. It's a very inoffensive design but it doesn't do anything unique.
60 quid for non-chinese if that counts as unique
we also missed the limited edition preorder window with the transparent shells
at least there's the taito shell
Pocket friendly not wallet friendly
tbh, it doesn't look bad for a ps1/saturn-and-under machine. not sure how much dreamcast or n64 is playable without an analogue
They have indie games too tho its a nice touch imo
And they wanna have them in stores afaik
that would make this a corpo console then, ya?
Im not telling anyone which one to pick but Volfied
hrm.... i look forward to nabbing one in Best Buy when they launch then.
Im not a 100% of a fan of this... around 75%
But want to see it get attention and competition
And better indie games at least
yeah. the evercade indie ecosystem seems not nearly as active, but similar to pico-8's
would be ironic to buy this to run pico-8 games
same
Cant wait for build quality reviews
i hope the buttons are comfortable and the shell is decent. that will make/break this product
The price is aggressive
I know what else can $60 get you
But its a corpo thing id assume they actually pay tax or whatever
😄
taito edition for pico-8 would be nice
most of the indie stuff on it is homebrew for retro consoles i think? so its stuff you can already run on retro handhelds
True. It emulates
i think they have some stuff running native off carts? i think the duke3d port is an actual port iirc
High Quality Screen - 2.8” IPS Screen 320x240
yeah lmao thats the biggest downside over a lot of similarly priced handhelds
Yepp
But this you might be able to drop
They may even have customer service
Im willing to live with the shite screen for the other perks
240p bruh, I could count the pixels on Chun Li's thighs
Definitely not for me but I hope you boys enjoy this
Its not what it is. Its what it could be
Ooof that is a v90 tier screen size and res
But I am curious about the firmware/retroarch situation
Wowww
Tbf that’s native res for a few systems - ps1, NES, Turbografx-16…
But yeah when your modern gameboy can’t even scale gameboy well you lose me a bit
It reminds me of the my arcade stuff.
I accept that integer scaling gbc will give me bezels but I should be able to integer to bigger than OG hardware in 2023
*myarcade
i'll just take the Bilinear filtering pill like i did on my v90
it's..... shirt pocket friendly?
the trailer shows NES stretched all the way to 4:3, with megaman as just a fat little guy
my main question is whether the super pocket has the same soc as the EXP. if it supports even the Duke Nukem cart, which includes the gba and two ps1 titles, that's a good sign.
It's RK3126
GadgetVersus
Comparison between Rockchip RK3326 and Rockchip RK3126 with the specifications of the processors, the number of cores, threads, cache memory, also the performance in benchmark platforms such as Geekbench, Passmark, Cinebench or AnTuTu.
it's nearly the same exact chip as the original Retroid Pocket 2:
- A7-based quadcore(but oc'd to 1.5ghz)
- Mali-400 MP2 gpu

Will the duke nukem cart work then?
it should. there's more than enough power to run the two ps1 games and gba port. this soc is strong enough to run dreamcast, weirdly enough.
hrmm... this is a landmine to jump on at a later time.
EverSD's discord and reddit community are dead/nonexistent too. Looks like they were bitten by Evercade lawyers.
Yea they are corpo we can establish that
Im bummed out so bad rn
Gonna have to wait for india to enter the chat if china and the uk just tossing around 😄
yeah, nothing to see here anymore. if you like the cart ecosystem, i guess go have fun.
Id only care for the carts so they can feed the devs and expand the library
Evercade
But way too inconvenient
does this really offer anything a 3566 emulation handheld doesn't
easier to set up, so if you want to get something for a family member, sure
Kill this thread with fire
3.... 2... 1....
Haven't this thing come out already? Maybe lock the thread?
