Who's doing Reignited? I will
100% original baybe
I own reignited but the chances of me being allowed to use "The Big TV" with my kids about are extremely low
I tried the original like 5 times and never got far, but tried reignited yesterday and it's very pretty. Really like playing a cartoon
I'll probably get this for the nephews one day
yeah Reignited is absolutely gorgeous
I'm going to. Got it in the steam sale.
I feel this haha

Anyone know how to stop Sparx from shining a flashlight with the force of 1000 sun's?
Duckstation standalone on RP3+
@clever arch 𝒯𝒽𝒶𝓃𝓀 𝓎𝑜𝓊 𝒻𝑜𝓇 𝓇𝑒𝓁𝑒𝒶𝓈𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝓂𝑒.
Oh fabulous, the Reignited Trilogy is sitting unplayed in my Steam library. I’m ready for my first Spyro experience. 🔥
I played the original but really looking forward to playing reignited on the deck!
I'm playing Reignited on pc and reached the first boss.
Storming here all day, so hopefully I can knock this out. Doing reignited on switch because I already have it and spent too much on the steam sale
Never played this game. The GotMers have said it is a great game. Going to play this last to keep everything mixed up this month. Lets goooo
I really liked the first two but I never started the third for some reason
I love the second one. Never played 3 either
Excited to finally play Reignited!
Did the first two worlds on reignited, it's nice. Feels similar to the latest Kirby
Feel like I’m zooming through this one. Going to end up way under 6 hours I bet
Pretty easy action platforming, with additional brain activation required for 100%
Just finished the first world. Playing on my Steam Deck and it's pretty nice.
Since I never played this I will play the psx version first.
Definitely agree on the 'pretty on the steamdeck'
Use software rendering instead of OpenGL or vulkan
Just made it to Gnastys world. Breaking for dinner then should be able to wrap it up tonight.
Why is that the only option I didn't try!? Thank you b xxoo
Ripto is definitely my favorite of the three, but 1 and 3 are both solid games as well
Yeah I tired so many things lol. That was the only thing that resolved that 😂
Does Spyro need R2 and L2 - looking to play on a psp
Spyro does that annoying thing where they hide a bunch of shit in the overscan area so while in theory widescreen hack + 16:9 would work, you get a bunch of artifacting
They control the manual camera rotation, not necesscary but good to have
Ah damn, this is what stopped medievil being playable on a vita
Medievil has an absolute monster of a camera, Spyro's auto turning is ok but yeah, not ideal
It does for dodging or for the camera. Depending on how you map it out
Finished the game including the bonus stage. Final time was around 4 hr 30 min.
That’s about my final time too
Oh wow
I'm like 3 hours in and still in the 3rd world
I'm having a blast trying to 100% it though
Man fuck tree tops
I have reignited but probably playing PSX on my Odin. Ps5 time is for ffxvi
Anyone know how to get to the secondary area in Dark Passage? I'm all turned around. I'm at the exit bur can't figure out how to get the the last 2 drags
Rubber Duck Programming strikes again
Probably the hardest level in the game, especially if you don't know what you're doing. I remember my family going wild when we just naturally figured it out back in the day. I tend to just check a guide if I can't remember the sequence of ramps needed for that one jump.
Took me so long to remember, the double back is a nightmare. The return trip is so long as well if you stuff it up, ugh.
I was having flash backs of haunted towers earlier, wandering around aimlessly as a kid for hours and hours trying to work out where the last dragon In the whole game was.
Got him this time though, bastard.
I can imagine it would have been screaming from everyone involved lmao
Is so weird how front loaded the eggs are, like they just gave up half way through, slammed a bunch in Magic Crafters and just called it a day
Does reignited count for this? I've had it on steam for a while. Technically I've had the ps1 discs for decades but haven't played those either
And even if.. worth just doing the original?
Reignited counts, the flying levels are worse but everything else is smoother
Not sure what people mean about the flying levels being worse. Took me an extra attempt to adjust on the first one, then beat all the others in one try other than the last one.
I'm not sure what's the deal with the flying levels. They felt fine to me. The only things that bothered me about Reignited (first time playing the remake, played Spyro 1 a lot as a kid and finished it for the first time about a year ago) were the slight audio changes (nostalgia for sure), and the extra effects and pretty-ness sometimes got in the way of being able to see a gem or something hiding in grass. And as you can no doubt tell, these are extremely minor gripes.
Spyro is an incredible game. It's shocking to me just how great the sound design is (in addition to all the other things Spyro does right). Every gem pickup, chest smashed, Sparx nomming a butterfly, to the multitude of enemy noises, Spyro's sound design is just
. Like how you know there's a dragon hidden nearby by the sound of the statue. So so good.
Side note: I love how they were like "water levels suck, no one likes water levels, fuck it, water KILLS you." I know there are water levels in future entries (and I remember them being handled well), but still. Good ass game.
Well, was hoping to get this game out of the way during my 13 hour flight, but apparently it didn't download the night before and I didn't check it. Now at the hotel for my layover and Steam Deck can't connect to the Internet for some reason... guess I'll start this one later than I expected
These flying levels can F all the way off 🤣
You can ignore them If you don't want 100%. They are alright as a deviation from the norm buy they are pretty stressful until you've familiarised yourself with the layout of each one
Good to know, I tried a few routes on the first flying level and would run out of time with 2 items left to collect
Right... never played Spyro before... What is the goal? Just go through the levels and rescue dragons from their statues? Eventually meeting an end boss?
basically!
each world has 3 levels, a flight level and a boss level, theres 6 worlds and to get to the next world you have to appease the balloon operators requirements. Some need a certain amount of treasure collected, some need a certain amount of dragons saved. Goal is to get to the last Hub world and beat the main boss
ah ok, thanks! I have rescued 11 dragons so far... but I haven't left the starting area, other than its associated levels. i will have a proper look 🙂
Thank you! It looks way better in Vulkan than using Software but the brightness of Gondors Beacon was really irritating 😄
Easy fix iif using Vulkan, just sit at no health, problem solved
Soooo looking at the intro, the sheep seem identical to those is Sheep Dog n Wolf / Sheep Raider
Can I make a claim for “same game world”?
Got the game loaded just in time for my second flight. Got to the marsh world. It's actually getting hard. Died multiple times
So far having fun in Reignited on Steam Deck. Just finished the first area.
I never played this on PS. I imagine this was their answer to Mario 64.
As usual, gravity is the strongest enemy in the game
Those little toads are super annoying enemies too, but yep, plenty of falls. That shouldn't be a lost life. Luckily lives are super easy to get
Ok, Treetops is annoying. Can't figure out how to get to the island next to the dragon that says to combine supercharges. But screwing up means a couple of minutes just to get back to try again. And if I fall, I lose a life. Ridiculous.
Legit! tree tops is probably the hardest level in the game to 100% for exactly the reasons you said.
but to get an idea of what you need to do, follow the thieves
Whoever designed the Haunted Towers skill point can also get royally fucked
I have fucking ptsd from this level, it was the one dragon I could never find. No internet access for young BillyZard
Insomniac had some monsters working for them
Jacques was a weird choice for a boss. Way too easy
I didn't understand the skill point thing. It popped up twice but what do they do?
Extra lives I believe. And achievements in the remake.
That Gnasty Gnorc boss fight seemed to come out of nowhere. Thought I had one more stage left. Nope... Beat him easily and got the skill point even. Got 100%
And the boss fight was pretty bad. What kind of scary giant orc just runs away and calls that fighting?
I'd run away from a dragon tbh
I’m really liking this one. I thought about 100% it, but my first couple attempts at the flying levels sank that dream
does this game support dualshock properly or is the control strictly digital?
I think it supports it? Stick can be tilted slightly to walk, so in theory, yes?
what big brained genius decided that you don't get to know the clear conditions for each hub til you find the end?
was he overly concerned about weekend rentals?
It takes 45 seconds to get to the balloon guy
Just 100% every level without ever knowing the requirements for the balloon, problem solvered
My copy arrived
Are all the requirements just saving dragons? What kind of monster would save some dragons but not save all those poor gems?
Thankfully, some of the balloon boys aren't dang commies and understand the truly important things in life, capital gains
Some are dragons, some are gems, some are eggs
Dragons, Gems, Eggs, Gems, Dragons
In that order
Can I go back to Astal?
This game is wonderful if you love collectathons. If you don't, you need to reevaluate your life and discover happiness
Mario is not a good comparison to this game. It's much more analogous to B--K
ok but in BK I knew Jiggies = Progress
But can you collect the jiggies without collecting the notes? No
Or if you can, you're a monster
You also need Notes to unlock the Note Doors.
absolutely, my gripe is with the non-signposted nature of these goals
Same thing here really. In BK Jiggies are needed for opening levels, and Notes are needed for doors. Here there's only one gate and the needed resource rotates.
right after i get off the baloon I want him to tell me what i need to focus on
I think we play differently. I always complete the hub world first, so get to the balloonist before I even enter an individual level, so I know what the requirement is before I start trying to meet it.
So in that sense, it is sign-posted. But if you just jump into the first level you see, run through it and get to the end only collecting half the stuff, and just keep doing that, I can see it being frustrating.
bingo, well said
If I stumbled upon the balloonist early and he told me I was ready to go to the next island, I just told him "fuck no I'm not, I didn't get all the gems in two stages"
But you would have that same issue in BK as well if you're not familiar with it. You complete the first level just getting like 40 notes and a handful of jiggies, and then you hit that first note door, and now you gotta go back.
yep, and thats usually where my BK playthroughs end, first time i have to backtrack
Oh well fair enough then. I was under the impression you had a better view of BK. 😂
i do like it, and my wife loves it, shes a 100% person who has doubled my playtime in TotK
Yeah, I guess I meant more that me drawing parallels between the two would help you see it a different way, but sounds like you already see the parallels and just don't like that kind of game.
Or don't like that aspect of those kinds of games. 😂
I dunno, words are hard sometimes.
appreciate the effort, Kirby was just such a wonderful breezy time, spyro is a come-down
So just to confirm - if you want to complete the game as quickly as possible, you can just go to the balloon guy as soon as possible?
(I haven’t started playing yet and may go for the full 100%)
Go to him and see what he needs to go to the next level
Basically this, but you might find yourself needing to go back to previous hub worlds because you need more eggs than what the current hub world offers for example.
To finish you need
||50 Dragons rescued
6,000 gems collected
5 Dragon eggs from thieves
Finish all stages of Gnasty's World||
Well, the game tells you you need to finish all stages for the last world, but there are four doors, and after doing two the third is the final boss, so that was a lie
Last one opens at 100% supposedly, and doing what's behind is 120%?
Yep, it's basically just a level where you can perma fly but only so high until you unlock the next height and you just collect a shit ton of gems.
To me Spyro is more like this game 102 Dalmatians: Puppies to the Rescue on PS1 (not sure if anyone played it, it may be niche) than it is to BK
I thought about playing 102 Dalmatians. Loved the movie as a kid, but my interest in the genre is unsteady.
It's pretty solid for a late stage licensed game but if you dislike collectathon the aesthetic might not pull you through
Collectathons are the bomb (you have to collect the fragments of the bomb)
Ok next question - somehow I’d missed that Reignited was in the steam sale. Is that a better experience than emulation?
In my opinion, absolutely. The remake is just gorgeous and still feels like the original game in almost every way.
Runs great on the Steam Deck as well.
I wonder what percentage of GotMers have a Steam Deck. Or what the most popular device is among us
Heh i just loaded up Reignited on Steam Deck. Glad I bought it, but 40Gb?!
I’d put money on the miyoo mini, then second the rp3+, then third the sd
Tbf, that's all three games. So like 12ish gigs per game.
Wish I could have just installed one at a time. Space on my Deck is severely limited right now.
Honestly yeah. That's one thing that the Halo MCC really got right.
I wonder how many assets are shared among the games in Spyro remastered though. Do they all have the same Spyro?
I started up 2 but didn't look at it closely enough to tell
Certainly very similar but they wouldn't have gained a lot of space. I saw completely different ennemies
I guess some basic environmental stuff could be the same too, like water and walls
Yeah enemies, environments, collectables, etc... are all pretty different across the games.
The gems, spyro, and sparks are the most consistent parts for sure.
Well we need to ask Bob
I’d say a 353 device over the miyoo mini. I agree with the rest though. I’m betting the rp3+ and steam deck are amongst the most popular
That’d be a cool poll to see for this community
I think there's too many 353s for one to be the dominant one
That market is split too much
Well they’re all Technically the same device. Just different form factor
Is it a hot take to not like the music in this? It weirdly stresses me out, lol
Too much tambourine
For the purposes of my “who has the most” I was separating products with the same chipset but a different form factor - while I’m happy lumping the 353v and 353vs together, to me at least, it feels like a separate device from the 353p and ps. Personal opinion maybe
I can see what you mean.
mildly yeah lol tho i think the later two in the trilogy have better music. it's by stuart copeland from the police!
oh, nice. I just looked it up and I guess he did the theme of the Amanda show as well
yeah lmao
him and mark mothersbaugh from devo both did playstation exclusive videogames and nickelodeon shows lmao. mark mothersbaugh did Crash Bandicaoot and Rugrats
the new wave band member -> video game/cartoon soundtrack composer pipeline
haha that’s awesome
oh wow, the controls on this game (PS1) are horrendous. Definitely a learning curve for movement
on the vita I've mapped camera controls to the right joystick... that's helped a bit but holy hell... this is annoying
I should remap the shoulder buttons, haha, I keep using the wrong one
I might switch over to the mario and luigi one and see if I come back to this later
took switching from swanstation to pcsx rearmed to get analog controls to work
done with 2 levels and the game still holds up
so good
I’m missing 2 gems on gnorcs cove 🫠 I don’t know where these things are 😭
Are you playing PS1 or remake? Remake has a button to point to gems. Can't remember if PS1 does. It's L3 on remake
I 120% the remake and didn’t know this.
Toasty is such an iconic boss. I don’t remember most of this game but as soon as I saw the second phase I remembered
I am on the balloon boy that needs ||50 dragons|| I think? Might take me some time as I currently have ||23||...
yeah I don't think I can finish this one out. Not having much fun with this game tbh. I already completed Kirby, and have played the NDS version of Mario and Luigi superstar saga. Both are solid.
I might try to revisit spyro, but I think I'll focus on the RPG of the Quarter for a bit
Yeah I’m going to move onto Mario and Luigi when I get my rp3 to play it on, but will put this away for now haha
Been thinking of getting an rp3+. What is it you’re playing on rn?
This one I started on my PC, haha. I don’t have an emulation handheld yet, just some corpo ones.
I usually don't like collect a thons, but this game is pretty fun. Glad I bought Reignited though, couldn't handle the PS1 jank.
Just game overed, didn't think that was possible.
Oh hey. Had Reignited in my steam library. I blame Humble Choice.
Really enjoying this so far, have 100% the first two lots of worlds
I started Spyro. I can see if people have nostalgia for it but it's kinda dull. finished two levels already. it's just a collectathon with no real challenge so far. dunno if it opens up later. it's fun to collect though. I 100%'ed those levels.
I finished artisan's home and stone hill. is there a recommended order of levels? I saw a level called dark hollow or something.
Not really. You can beat the levels in any order. The boss fights are pretty cool. And the really standout thing on the PlayStation was the draw distance. When you have stuff like silent hill where you can only see 5 feet in front of you, Spyro was pretty special. It felt so open, and the flying was fun.
It’s definitely a game aimed at children though. Kind of like world of illusion. But I think the open worlds of this makes it more entertaining than world of illusion, and you know having at least a couple different attacks.
The jank is the challenge.
I'm at the end of world 1 in Reignited and world 2 in og and the choice paralysis is real
ok, I like that it has boss fights. I was suspecting them being there.
Trying to work out what I should play on a new handheld - is the ps1 jank so bad, should I stick to re-ignighted?
Yes
Ok then, thanks
I'm playing Spyro on rg353m. works fine @light carbon
The ps1 version is probably fine if you’ve never experienced reignited. But it would be hard to go back.
No issues for me on the Odin, not worth sacrificing ffxiv time for me
Yeah it’s Zelda time for me
do you need to 100% every level to progress?
Nope, just enough to pacify the baloonist in each main world.
ah ok. I might do that. I'm not loving this so far. do you guys like the music?
How many hub worlds are there?
five or six?
Oof Twilight Harbor on the last world is KILLING me.
Lol wtf I cannot beat this level
@ancient lichen here’s the list of what you’ll need to get to the final world. The dragons came easily, but I had to back track to get the treasure.
Well this is unfortunate
For those playing reignited, did they redo the butts in hd?
Hey! Apple vision pros!
Yeah dude, high definition butts everywhere, that's how you find the vulnerabilities. Doctor Shemp or whatever his name was especially.
This last boss battle is fcking infuriating. Did no one else struggle with it? Really wish I had save states right about now.
Jfc
It sucked a bit that you restart all phases when you die
man spyros jump is really low for a 90s 3d platformer lol
the levels feel really flat compared to like, mario 64 or banjo
How many endings we get? How to get the best one?
There's a bonus stage for getting 100% that once completed gets you 120%.
Oh alright, but I don't need to get every dragons?
#1124669679663849562 message
Thought this was here?
I tried to link the post that listed the minimum requirements, but it didn't work?
Oh, it does.
So, this game is just running around collecting gems and unlocking dragons. Doesn't seem like there's much to it. I expected more from a 25 year old hyped game
As far as I’m aware it’s the franchise that’s hyped, the first game isn’t as good as the next 2
it's enjoyable when you were a kid
yeah 2 and 3 have more objective-based goals with npcs and stuff. ive played more of them than i have this one. this one is alright but i cant play it for too long in a row
1 just feels like a multi stage tutorial
Good thing is now that 1 has won, that makes Ripto’s Rage eligible
I started number 2 immediately after finishing 1 and it already has 10 times the story.
Ripto’s rage was always eligible. There are folks who won’t vote for a game if previous games in the series hasn’t won — and some who won’t play them — but games have definitely won before their predecessors
Spyro 1 is significantly different to its sequels, especially with the level design. I don't necessarily prefer one over the other. All three games are great. 🙂
Spyro 1 is a great spring board that Spyro 2 uses to soar.
It's enjoyable as an adult!
to each their own
As a big fan of platformers, Spyro 1 is a great game. It still holds up today imo. ^_^
Roaming around is fun. Just the joy of collecting things.
I can see how it can be bad if you're objective-based, but for a game to just wander around and see what there is to see and do, it's a treasure. Except that treetop level. Fuck that shit
I just played the cliff side level in the second hub. They love to hide a small amount of goodies. I don't enjoy searching for them but I get anxiety till I find them all. one of the reasons I don't enjoy this game much.
Going to start this today
I'm so proud of myself for remembering how to 100 percent that level.
There's no greater insult in this game than when you free a dragon and all you get is "thank you for releasing me ."
Like, mate, what was your plan if I didn't come along? At least drop some wisdom, goddamn
wait they drop wisdom ive just been skipping them
A lot is just a gag or things you already know (gliding, charging armoured enemies)
Or like the first dragon of an area you run into will tell you about a mechanic that you're about to encounter (fairy kisses making flames burn hotter)
Sometimes they're useful. When I played as a kid it was more about seeing all the cool dragons.
100% the first 3 levels having a blast so fat
The dragons got individual models in Reignited and they're so cool.
Still at the second boss, I keep falling off the cliff.
Tip for that boss: don't fall off the cliff
Mind=blown
yeah im on the fourth hubworld and have been 100%ing every level but i might stop 100%ing and just go for the ending at this point, its getting a little repetitive
I have and always will detest the flying worlds in that game.
just played the first flying world. I like the flying missions in harry potter games. never played superman 64.
it seems I have to go through it multiple times
There's a way to do each flying world in one go but you have to know the order to do it in.
Which requires many goes
or just watch a video of someone doing them
I've got the orders memorized at this point. Might take me an attempt or two to remember some of the trickier parts.
yeah, I bet. might just leave them to last and see if I need to 100% them.
F these flying levels.
I didn't think they were easy, but they all took less than 10 minutes for me. Not too bad
It’s been kind of a slog for me. 1 world a night has been my limit so far. Def haven’t been 100% everything I’m hoping I can reach the credits without having to do everything. Never played this as a kid.
Don't think I will finish in time, but I enjoy this game
They aren’t bad (flying levels) just bad if you want to 100% the game.
The final boss isn’t hard I just suck. And the checkpoint is non-existent so it felt like hitting a brick wall when I would jump into the lava
I think free time of being a child made me like the game more back in the day
I got 100% completion. The flying levels were somewhat annoying, but they're not that bad at all imo.
Just bad you have to get everything in one go to 100% the level. I dislike when games use a tight time limit for these levels. Wasn’t fun when banjo did it also.
Eh, I don't mind it much. Only one or two of the flying levels really aggravated me.
Is this all that is need to beat the game?
||World 1: Free at least 10 dragons total.
World 2: Have at least 1,200 gems total.
World 3: Have at least 5 dragon eggs.
World 4: Free at least 50 dragons total.
World 5: Have at least 6,000 gems total.||
Sounds right. As long as that's what the baloonists requests, that's all you need.
I am going to play all the levels just those flying levels I don't think I can 100%. Just not good at flying lol
Yeah, you should be able to ignore the flying levels 100% if you want.
At world 2 and I have 30 dragons, 2,800 gems and 4 eggs. I like this game so far fun to just explore.
I'm having a lot of fun with Spyro Reignited. I never played this or even knew anything about it back in the day.
I just 3x the psx game and it looks great.
I'm at the 4th world with 38 dragons. I feel like the game has gotten more interesting at this level.
and yeah, skipping the flying levels
I will still play the flying levels. Just think it is BS you have to do all the task in one run with in the time limit to max out the gems
I keep thinking I’ve gotten 100% on a level and then I find a new area
You can check at the pause screen.
It only shows me the areas I’ve been to
Exactly
OH ture
You meant in the hub world
got it.
Looking at that, I’d think you had 100% of peace keepers, but there other areas you haven’t been to yet
this was just a photo I found on the internet. not my playthrough
I am at the magic crafters as of right now.
i was having this same issue but i think every hub has 6 levels (including home)
cuz yeah i try to go through and 100% home first so the enemies don't respawn but then i forget where all the levels were lol
Hmm. I only did 5 in Artisans. Did I miss one? (Doing Peace Keepers now)
probably lol but so did i
||Stone Hill.
Dark Hollow.
Town Square.
Sunny Flight (Flight Stage)
Toasty (Boss Stage)|| I think there are only 5
Each land that a baloonist takes you to has 5 portals to other worlds in them.
||except for the last one.||
Peacekeepers has 6
I counted the hub land also. My bad
S'all good!
how many does the last one have/
there are 5 hubs with 5 portals so 30 levels counting the Hubs
That looks like 5 to me
Ah, I didn’t find the flight one
The top one is the land the baloonist takes you to.
However you wanna classify it.
go to the waterfall and jump on all the stones
so the hub
Oh it most likely will get nominated. Votes who knows
Lost out on some time due to travel and a new job. I'm at Gnasty's world and I believe I already have the right number of eggs, gems and dragons so is it pretty quick to smash through those final levels?
Getting better at flying
Yea, flying is annoying at first, and the first flight level seems the hardest to me, but from there it went swiftly
Wild Flight in Beast Makers is the toughest imo
the rest are kind of a breeze but I've played through spyro 1 at least 5 or 6 times
I think this game is the best choice to introduce a kid to the 3d platforming genre with
The controls and moveset are simple compared to others from its time, the overall game difficulty in combat and puzzle-solving is relatively accessible for the most part, and the collectathon variety is easy to keep track of
I’ve been trying to 100% each level, but at some point I also want to play reignited since it’s been sitting on my backlog for a long time. I wonder if it’s worth shooting for the balloon man’s requirements now, and taking my time with the remake
I doubt 100% is really that much longer than rush. 100% took me 5 hours
HLTB says 6 vs 8.5
Is there a way to go back to previous worlds?
Maybe I should just read the manual 🙂
In the start menu of Reignited, your can just warp to any previously entered world. Not sure if OG can do that
I think balloon guy can take you to previous worlds?
I’ll have to check. I thought he was only offering to take me forward
The last thing I did was finish the world i was on, so i have to go see him anyway
He does
When i get into a groove, the levels really fly by. When i get into a rut (usually trying the find the last gem or two) they take forever
So it seems like Haunted Towers is ||Notoriously tricky for its hard to find last dragon|| Any hints? I’m wandering around and can’t get to the area I think I need to get to.
I was literally having horror flashbacks to when I was a kid when playing this level, it was the only dragon I was never able to find as a kid, with the internet in it's infancy.
This time I charged to the extreme all around that tower and found it
I finally got it, thanks. Now if I can just figure out Tree Tops…
"Follow the Thieves"
So I’ve played the first few levels. Freeing dragons and finding gems has a nice zen collectathon feeling to it. Getting the eggs back from the thieves not so much.
Just go fast
The key is to charge and jump at the same time.
I’ve gotten to ||tree tops|| in ||beast makers||. I guess I’m supposed to ||chain together some of the supercharges|| and it’s really harshing in my mellow in this game
Probably the lowest point of the game. Even to this day, having beat it dozens of times, I usually have to look up how to do the one jump.
The flying level is also the first one i couldn’t quickly figure out a way to do. It seems there’s really only one right order to do it in
This was the level that frustrated me most as a kid.
I didn't learn how to master that level until the remake came out.
I think this is what will give me the nudge to focus on finishing the game without feeling the need for 100%
I’ll revisit it later
Or just try to do it in reignited
i think you had to chain supercharges to 100% some levels in the previous world too? at least i thought i did
you did, but on ramps that were right next to each other
Yeah treetops you have to run around the world not loosing momentum and even run up a couple ramps backwards and one ramp that I'm pretty sure you only use for this one jump.
oh damn. i didnt get that far yet lmao
maybe ill just rush to the end at this point then
i missed 1 or 2 levels in previous hubs entirely tho lol so ill back track to those
Im not rushing to the end, but I’m not worrying about 100% or everything anymore
Yeah if I feel the need to 100% I'll replay on ignited
Just got to level 5, I'll get through it here soon enough
It's just not a very compelling game
Guys, what do I need to open this
I have all levels on 100%
This are my stats
97% game completion
Did you get the flight level in all hub worlds, including the first one?
Does the last hub have a flight level?
There's one in each hub other than Gnasty's.
Then I have them all, I'm 99% sure
So you jumped on the little pedastals in the water in the first hub world to unlock the flight level there?
Yes
If you send screenshots of each hub worlds completion, I might can see what you're missing.
Sounds like you're missing one there then.
Damn it, thanks!
There's one directly to the right of the baloonist down a little ramp that's easy to run by.
Yup, that's the one, Ice caverns
Boom jams.
Down goes Gnasty, down goes Gnasty!
End that Gnorc!
Damn the remake looks so good
I’m mostly jealous of the mini map
The nerve of that guy!
You mean chasing the final boss?
yeah
I did. I won.
I see you played OG. It was easy to the point of being anticlimactic in reignited, used fire twice, gg boss defeated
killing him was cake. Chasing him around those blind corners with ledges all over was frustrating
I do remember it taking a good few tries back in the day.
Felt like around some of those turns I had to look for the apex and make sure I had enough turning friction. Dude has some wide turns
That's weird. I first-shot the boss first try and even got the achievement for taking no damage. Or was it much easier in Reignited and you guys played OG?
The controls while running aren't the best in OG, and having to run non stop around twists and turns while Spyro has a terrible turn radius isn't great
92%. I’m both pleased and disappointed
It’s making me hate this game. I’ve been having a great time with this one until now.
Turns out it was a Skill Issue
Last chase was the classic try it again the next day beat it first try kind of boss. I just wish they didn't make you go after the keys again everytime
Exactly. I took a break then nailed it pretty quick. Getting the keys every time was so annoying.
I'm so close. Made it to Gnorc's world last night, so hoping to knock this one out when we get back Sunday. The remaster is GORGEOUS.
Agreed, this game is so pretty. I never played the originals and I probably shouldn’t even try after starting w Reignited. I am looking forward to playing parts 2 and 3 now.
☝️Same. I'm sure the originals hold up, but I never played them and there's no chance I will now having started with Reignited.
That's why I did the original for this. Always wanted to try it and I knew I wouldn't if I did reignited
Ripto’s Rage when?
I don't think I'll finish this. I should've started mario game instead
If you don’t have time to finish Spyro, you definitely don’t have time to finish Mario
Yeah, if you any% Spyro it's quite short. M&L took me 15 hours and I used a guide.
yeah i should just knock spyro out i guess lol, ive played enough of it that it would be dumb to leave the point on the table
There are so many games to play. Never feel dumb walking away from a game that you aren’t enjoying
its not that im not enjoying it i guess i just needed a break
I’m going to take a break from this gnasty gnorc fight/chase. Try again later tonight or tomorrow
This game is great. Still like the OG look compared to the remake. So fun to play a couple world ever night.
That's basically what I've been doing. Should have it wrapped up tonight.
somehow lost my save for this when transferring devices so I think I'm dropping it
still love this game though
Just finished. Liked the game, but did not like that the last boss is just 4x of the worst part of the game
Boss design is 100% the weakest part of Spyro. Thankfully the sequels more than make up for it.
I didn't even realize I was fighting the first boss. Just thought it was a big scrub, and then I got an achievement for winning without taking damage. Was thinking "What just happened?"
And done! Wild that we had two games this month with shit final bosses.
Still a great game
I started like in the middle of the month I think. it's not that I didn't have time. I made it to 4th world but I don't wanna play it anymore. it's just meh 😑
i had enough shit to skip dream weavers entirely lol so i think ill finish today
oh yeah the last world is short lmao
I'll give them credit, the point where I was getting bored with the game was pretty much the point where I had enough collectibles to just rush the ending lol. Final boss was pretty lame tho
wouldnt mind playing 2 and 3 down the line tho i have played a bit of those ones and its definitely a big step up, and the first one is already a good foundation. but i dont think im gonna 100% this one lol
necrobumping the hell out of this. I've been working my way through for 100% RetroAchievements completion / mastery, and now that I'm about 70% of the way there, I realized that the build of Duckstation on my 406V does not unlock Hardcore versions of achievements, even with Hardcore mode enabled. Probably need to start over. Incredibly annoying lol.
As for Spyro tho, we love Spyro. Gotta grab all the things. 100% through Beast Makers
I'm playing this as well
Reignited
And doing 100%
I used to do it when I was younger. The absolute worst is doing the stage and realizing you're 2 gems short
or when they hide like, 25 gems behind the level where you'd have to be crazy to check, and you think you're looking for a yellow gem or something
Mastered
might play this some time this year without points just so I'm ready if Spyro 2 finally makes it
valid -- it's a pretty short game if you wanted to try to squeeze it in this month. Mastering it for RetroAchievements only took me a little over 6 hrs, but I've played it before. If you're just going for completion, though, idk, might be comparable
