LineageOS 19.1 (based on Android 12L) for Retroid Pocket 3 Public Beta 1:

After a lot of time and work, Lineage 19.1 for the Retroid Pocket 3 is entering public beta! Please note that this is an early beta build and it may have bugs and issues. Here are some things I’m currently aware of in particular:

  • Retroid’s key to screen mapping app, GameAssistant, doesn’t work on this firmware as of current and as a result isn’t included in the build.
  • Hiding gestural navigation hint in SetupWizard makes it so that the next button of the prompt to set a password/pin doesn’t appear.
  • The default screen rotation is portrait, when in reality it should be landscape. This is described and the workaround is in the installation text file.

Once installed, there will be an OTA available in Settings -> System -> Updater to fix issues with Bluetooth audio.

I love Lineage OS so far, but is there a way to get the Retroid FPS counter running?

Something about their whole Gamepad Mapping software doesn’t work on anything but their stock firmware, and I haven’t figured out why it’s broken

I don’t have a 3+, but I do have an RP Flip and software-wise they’d be similar

That being said, it takes a lot of work for me to do my current build method for new devices. I may switch over to modified GSIs on newer devices, much like how Gamma does it with GammaOS

Did this firmware also removes the retroid app? i cant seem to find it on my device.

Apologies for the time but I have an rp3 and I would like to know if lineageOS could give it more life. I doubt it can give you better performance than emulators but maybe you will feel more agile to navigate and enter multimedia applications. etc
