hey guys, issue is making me dumbfounded, pc just froze last night, decided to restart the system, but as it booted, it keeps slapping me with a bsod TDR failure, so I ddu'd my pc in safe mode, and reinstalled nvidia drivers, crashed while installing so decided to be the best time to switch to win 11, all was well, installing chipset drivers and such, but when it came to nvidia drivers it always crashed my pc, I assume that my hardware is good because im able to use it but just when i start to install nvidia driver it craps itself. maybe u guys can shed light to the issue cuz nothings been working so far. TIA

well a tdr failure according to the all mighty google says it's a video failure and can have several sources... so i guess the first question is whats the system setup?
ow lol forgot to include specs sorry
Ryzen 5 3600
GTX 1050ti 4gb
A320m pro vh
512 WD NVMe
1tb Seagate HDD
550w psu
what were you trying to do or what happened?
was in a google meet, then pc froze with a buzzing sound from the headset, decided to wait a few minutes before resetting it, then it kept boot looping, until i got fed up and decided to just do a clean install of win 11 for peace of mind, but yeah, when im installing nvidia it just freezes then continues to bsod with TDR failure
so you reinstalled windows did you start from a fresh install or was it a backup copy?
fresh install
do you have another pc you can try the card in?
asked a friend to make a bootable media for me
that i dont have
what about your buddy?
hes on a laptop sadly
ahhh
are you close to any major city and have a best buy or something close by you can take the pc to to get the parts tested?
cause if windows reinstall didn't solve it, it sounds hardware to me
i dont really trust the shop at the mall because they tried to rip me off for drive
bad windows drive bad gpu or something might have failed or is failing
apparently it likes the microsoft basic display drivers tho
thats how i am using the pc currrently
are you trying to run the latest driver from nvidia?
yep
ohh well that would explain it 1 sec
thinking if i need an old copy of the drivers cuz its an old card but the vids say that i should update it not the other way around lol
yeah I'm looking up the driver i'm using in my server with the 1080 1 sec
ayt
566.36-desktop-win10-win11-64bit-international-nsd-dch-whql.exe
https://www.guru3d.com/download/geforce-56636-whql-driver-download/
this is the last driver that supports the 10 series
you can grab it from here or search the nvidia archives for it
is it the same one from their website?
it's from last december
cuz when i go to the nvidia website it asks me what make and model my card is so i can download the right drivers for it
the drive is from nvidia they just put it in a folder to put their spam
thats what ive been doing the past tries
you can ignore the files and grab the exe and remove the guru3d stuff or just get it from nvidia
ayt ayt
I think the new drivers are like 590.something or maybe 600's now
this was the one i was downloading the past couple of tries
use the older driver, that is the latest one and it doesn't support the 10 series anymore
ahhh okok
I use a 1080 in my server and i run the 566.36 drivers with no problems
ill let u know when sumthn comes up, currently downloading, download speed is in the KBs bruh
no worries hopefully those drivers help
well if you downloaded the 566.36 driver you should ddu the drivers windows has now and try those, if it doesn't work and the windows drivers from 2017 work.. run em, just don't expect them to run games all that well
