whats his budget and will the pc do anything else other then game and watch yotube and twitch?
does he need a case does he need mouse&keyboard will he stream will he edit video etc
what sized monitor
mainly gaming, no streaming. will be on 1440p. budget is 1600 so for his best bet i said to look at marketplace from good sellers. so we have found these 4 and are deciding which would be best for him
32in mon
us?
if it was me I'd pick one of the 2 bottom ones the 7600x3d/5070 would make a nice gaming pc and you could update the cpu to a 9800x3d if the 7600 proved to be insufficient
sweet and yea id def help him build one but he lives so far away so itd be impossible bc he isnt inclinded to learn to do it bc of the fear of breaking something sadly
if i had my choice either one of the bottom ones and the 7600x3d/5070 would be my choice
isn't his 11400F still good enough and all he needs is a new GPU?
I'd agree—I argue to keep the same platform, and just get a new GPU.
The titles mentioned so far (CoD + BF) are GPU intensive these days. CoD can benefit from a CPU/platform upgrade, but not much of a quality of life change as a GPU.
Especially at 1440p.
I'm just going off the assumption he is going to spend the money anyways, he probably perceives some flaw in the system and wants to upgrade, the best one there in terms of video card was the 5070, and the x3d wont so... the 9700x/3080 wasn't bad either but I'd go the x3d/5070 for the same price
that was my logic behind it
I'm not arguing a 32gb kit of ddr4 is like 50-75 bucks
but he said he didn't want to build so.. i picked what I thought was the best 2 choices
yeah hed have to get some more things like a cpu cooler bc his keep crashing from time to time for overheating (its the stock air cooler) and his gpu reaches 92c even with afterburner so he has had a fun run with it, but its def coming towards the end of its life (three fans also dont work anymore out of the 5 lol
easy fix a peerless assassin or similar tower style cooler a 240-360 aio and a bump in ram would have been what I would have done with his pc

Can get a good deal on a used PC local, some sellers are desperate to sell an expensive pc so they take offers
All of those are kinda bad due to the GPU - either outdated or not enough VRAM.
Try to get a system with at least an AMD RX 9060 XT 16 GB or better
or on the NVIDIA side a 5060 TI 16GB or the 5070 TI with 16GB.
The 5070 only has 12 GB VRAM which will make it obsolete much faster and the 5080 is currently terrible price/performance.
