first off i know this isnt tech help thing but wanted some advice on this for people who have worked in IT before
Is it a good Idea to start my own person IT bussiness im in a small city so theres not really any major IT tech places here also any tips of equipement or stuff i need like should i make a liability waiver that people sign when they drop their systems off basiaclly saying if something happens during testing to their system im not responsible
Also i had this business idea of 15 min free diognostic so basically i look at your system to see if its a quick and easy fix which is completely free and after that time if i cant find the issue i would say i would have to dive deeper and it would cost say this much per hr prob like 35-45$ / hr + whatever new hardware costs and would also build pcs for people from 50-150$ depending on how long it takes to build it (they bring their own parts)

You shouldn't be advertising yourself as an "IT business" if that's all you're going to do. That type of stuff is rarely, if at all, involved with IT.
You'd reach the wrong customer base for that. Better off saying you're a system integrator/troubleshooter.
As with starting any business, yes, it's required that you make the appropriate waivers, terms of service, etc.
Not having them will open you up to legal issues, as the tiniest of things can have you taken to court by a bad customer, or by plain bad luck.

i would be fixing builds also
troubleshooting and fixing (PC repair / upgrades / builds)
the difference is i wouldnt be over charging for service and builds like best buy and other prebuild companys do

Yeah, that's not "IT." What you're describing is a computer technician, computer repair technician, or system integrator & troubleshooter.
IT deals with networking, infrastructure, and software, to put it simply.

i only have 1 store like what your stating the other place is basically a cell phone repair store that then 1 guy talked the owner into letting him advertise custom builds from to sell
but that 1 store is a electronics repair store so they do everything not just pcs
IT is like sitting in a network office maintaining and being computer support for the dumb engineers that dont know anyhting lol
and sadly i know more about troubleshooting pcs than the IT support at northrop grummen xD

It's not necessarily a "sad" thing. People have just been mistakenly expecting something entirely different when they hear "IT." IT almost never deals with hardware within a PC. They deal with infrastructure, and communication between them, in order to make things functional for us engineers. At most, they will purchase computers/laptops for us with the desired performance level. Anything more, hardware engineers are used to match our specfic needs.
Outside of that? Just "System Integrator," or "System Integrator and Troubleshooter."
For common speak, you're better off saying you're a local "PC builder and troubleshooter."

ya thats all they do when my bro takes his work laptop in to be looked at it they go idk why the ethernet port doesnt work and just buy a new one

I highly encourage you into learning how to do a cost–benefit analysis. A comparison between money going in (effort, labor time, parts, tools, etc.) vs. outcome (expected price, etc.).
