hi guys, need some opinions here. sold my friend a brand new pc 7500f + rtx5070. he's been gaming with it on the weekends for 2 weeks playing marvels, last of us etc but has experienced 3 game crashes (2 marvels, 1 last of us) and 1 random shut down (he's unsure but think it happened). i offered to help him check on the pc, what should i check first? game crashes are more likely to be driver/software issue or hardware?

most likely drivers issues ? idek about Nvidia situation, but latest AMD drivers are buggy and causes a lot of crashes on a lot of games. So I would check that first to see if everything is up to date, and if up to date, roll back to previous stable version to see if it fixes the issue
the gpu driver is up to date, will reinstalling the driver help?
do you know where i can check which version is stable?
TBH, there's really not much you (he) can do since it's a 50-class card. If it were a 10-class through 40-class I'd say roll back to December's 566.36, but those don't work with 50-class.
Nvidia commonly has been releasing "hotfix" drivers via their blog which get no mention on the drivers page, so check there too.
Nvidia's 50-series driver woes are well documented across tech media, and the reality of today is they STILL haven't really sorted it all out.
amd drivers are not causing crashing right now. A lot of the crashing would be the nvidia 50 series drivers or windows 11 24h2, it's not amd drivers.
latest amd drivers did in deed causes game crashes on my brother's pc
reinstalkling could work if you DDU before, as for drivers availability, they're on the nvidia site iirc
not experienced any crashes here, at least not amd driver related more windows related.
