Hey guys, starting musician here.
I'll cut to the chase, so I don't waste y'alls time.
I want to make 2 types of music, one being more experimental (AKA what I've been posting), and then I want to get into more story-telling, emotional, but still sort of dark and industrial music.
My question is if it's a good idea to separate the 2 styles of music into different names, images, and personalities.
I was thinking something like Shteppi has, where she has Brokie for the less serious stuff (not necessarily, but you get what I mean), and then she has Shteppi for her more vulnerable and serious music.
So, from beginner to more seasoned artists. Is it worth it? Or do I keep it all in one box?

There’s benefits to both. The algorithm has a better time placing you if you’re consistently making the sameish genre. So separating your accounts would help in that sense. But then there’s the other side of it where you can focus your time onto the art first and not really give a fuck about min/maxing ur chances of blowing and put more faith into just doing whatever you want and trusting ppl will fw it.

BVDLVD basically has no genre to me so I’ve just been rolling with that and make whatever I want.

Very interesting, and I appreciate the answer, I'll definitely look into it.
The separation wasn't even about clout chasing and shit, I just wanted it to be evident what the song I release is. If people see KVRLYX, then they'll say "oh, he's back to experimenting again", and take it more like I'm still finding my sound, and if they see another name I haven't thought of, they'll know to take it a bit more serious. Idk, I'll think about it some more, but looking at the financial side of things, it'll be cheaper to start off distributing under one name too. (Atleast I think, idk, that's why I'm soundcloud only rn)

Yeah because if then you wanna try any new genre you'll be fucked between 2 accs and maybe having to make a third for it to make sense 😭
