I am confused by the 2 chains. ETH and INJ and also the burns that take place periodically.
Do ETH-INJ tokens get destroyed when someone bridges to INJ-Native?
When tokens are burned, are they burned on both ETH and INJ chains?
When i look at the total supply on etherscan, the total supply does not seem to have decreased at all despite millions on INJ getting burned.
Should we not hold ETH-INJ tokens? Should we only hold native?
Any clarity greatly appreciated.

Might have something to do with keplr since we don’t interact with keplr when bridging out but we do when bridging in

Hi. I have a question. Is injective token natively issued on Ethereum or its own blockchain. I found the total supply of 100M on Etherscan, which means it's definitely not merely bridged to Ethereum. Can anyone clarify if the native INJ is bridged from ETH to Injective Hub? How can one get native INJ on the INJ blockchain?

INJ is the native coin of the Injective Chain. It also has an ERC20 version which is paired with the native INJ. There is no total limit of INJ on the Injective chain as the blockchain itself is PoS and there is about 7% inflation right now.
60% of the fee collected is used to buy back INJ and burn through an auction mechanism.

What’s unique about Injective’s ETH bridge is that it’s secured by the validators. So the bridge itself is as secure as the chain. If you trust the chain, you can trust the bridge. This is the same case for IBC bridges!

Hey Tony! There are two types of fees that are paid when bridging tokens to and from the Injective Chain: Gas fees and Bridge fees.
-Gas fees are paid by the user to the Ethereum, CosmosHub networks when depositing tokens onto the Injective Chain, while a fee of 0.0002 INJ to Injective Chain when withdrawing.
-Bridge fees are paid by the user when withdrawing tokens out of the Injective Chain. A Bridge fee of USD$10 (payable in token being transferred) is paid for transferring tokens to the Ethereum network and fees are waived when transferring tokens to the CosmosHub

What i received from a dev from CosmosHub: "looks like it's a bug on the injective front end. your atoms are safe and in your wallet, their application isn't reading your atom balance correctly. i see the same on my end.

I bought INJ on Coinbase. I sent it to my Keplr Injective 1.1 Wallet using the ETH address. On the hub I can see the the ERC-20 token balance. When I go to bridge from ETH to Injective, it asks me to connect my wallet and I select Metamask. It does not grab the selected address from MM but does use the ETH address from Keplr Injective. The totals are fine but it asks me to connect my Metamask to bridge. How do I get the INJ from my Keplr supplied ETH address to the Injective chain?

I got a work around. Imported the mnemonic into Cosmostation (I already had it there) and then viewed the private key for the wallet. Imported that into MM and sent a bit of ETH for fees from another wallet. Then connected the two wallets in the bridge and got it sent over. Man, that was more painful than it should be at this stage of crypto.

The tokens are being burned on the Injective Chain, so you won't be able to see them on Etherscan.

Nothing to be worry on that front, as long as there is 1 erc-20 INJ on the ETH side it will have value. The ETH bridge is here and you can transfer your INJ and other erc-20 tokens at any moment in time

I wish i could grasp how the supply works. It totally makes sense that on the INJ chain the total supply reflects all the burns ... but if there are ALSO Eth INJ tokens - does that mean there are technically 100 Million + the ~ 70 Million Native in total?

Nope, the erc-20 version that goes to INJ chain through the ETH bridge and does not come back is basically locked forever

Your INJ address is connected to your ETH address

Therefore you just use the ETH mnemonic phrase to restore the inj address

For example Keplr and Metamask use the same standard for mnemonic phrase and you can always import it back and forth between the two wallets

You can also just create a new wallet on a cosmos based wallet provider for INJ and just send your INJ directly on the inj chain

You are on ETH network in the wallet itself but you just use Metamask to sign transaction on the INJ chain. You dont do transaction on the ETH side

I have 2 bridge deposit transactions that have been in progress for 30 days and 16 days respectively. When I go to <Info> and view the Injective Explorer it says that the transaction was a success however I wanted to double check to make sure that was the case and based on the total sum from my bridge deposits and withdraws that doesn't seem to be the case.

@mystic zephyr But when I add all of the "Completed" transactions (deposit and withdraw), I get the total sum of my current holdings which are staked + the additional received rewards which were also staked. When factoring in the "In Progress" transaction sums then there is a clear issue with the totals because if it was a glitch and they had succeeded then my total holdings on the Hub should also include those INJ tokens as well, no?

The transactions you see on the Bridge's history are coming from the API so there might be some sync issue going on there which caused your transactions to be shown as still in progress.

At first I was thinking that was the case but I wanted to be safe and so I added all the bridged deposits up that were marked Complete and subtracted any Withdraw and it gave me my current Holdings not including the "In Progress" transactions

So now it has me wondering and paranoid..

@pseudo geode like I said, and my team confirmed this - the transactions are just duplicates and this happens because the on-chain events can (sometimes) be processed (on the API) in the wrong order if they happen in the same block so you get a duplicate bridge transaction.

Hello all, I've made a blunder while trying to stake my Injective. Sending Injective from Cosmos to Injective Hub I sent Osmo instead. I was sure I selected injective in the IBC Transfer but it has a tendency to switch back to Osmo on first try. I now have Osmo stuck in my Injective wallet on Keplr and cannot send it back. I can share the error I receive when trying to IBC transfer it back to channel-8 for Osmo if that helps. Has anyone seen this issue and been able to remedy?
