FlyByWire only supports the installer, not the 3rd party add-ons themselves.

Same thing happened to me yesterday and using VPN was my solution. Maybe try different vpn connection
VPN to where? what VPN...
if we need a VPN to download a simple add on there is something terribly wrong with this
.econnreset you already saw this.
To verify that this issue is not caused by your ISP, please use a VPN set to the US and try again.
We recommend ProtonVPN* as they offer a free plan.
The different add-ons that can be installed with the fbw installer have different download servers, depending on the authors. Some isps have sometimes problems with the connection to certain download servers, be it because of state regulations or a problematic routing.
Also in my company we have at the moment a problem with the connection from our internet provider to the Microsoft Azure servers in the same country, whereas the connection to the servers in a neighboring countrie works without any problems.
So it's not uncommon that there are some problematic configurations somewhere between a computer and a server.
As the products in the fbw installer get downloaded by people all over the world with many different isps it's hard to find a common ground that works for everyone. We are trying to figure out what's working best for a majority of people and if we can make it work better, but it takes time, especially since most of it is not in our hands. That's where the VPN comes in to be able to get around these problems. Using protonvpn with a connection to the US has proven to work, so that's the solution we can offer at the moment.
Other vpns might work as well, but we didn't test them all.
ok tried proton-VPN and worked on first try
thanks folks
still.. i know its free and i cant really complain... but using a quite Standard CDN shouldnt be different than the current solutio an would work for everyone
Are you ready to pay for it?
Do you know how much high-reach CDNs like Akamai cost?
This is GitHub, owned by Microsoft, running on Google Cloud. I think it's good enough
I'm planning to try and add mirror server logic, but I cannot fix every ISPs bad routing
We have the same issue on cloudflare, for some addons. cloudflare is massive and a quarter of the internet runs through it - you can't win with this
there will always be someone somewhere who can't route efficiently to the server
