FlyByWire only supports the installer, not the 3rd party add-ons themselves.
any errors appear?
If I close and reopen it comes up with error where install is
hmmm
okay
can you delete the a32nx install in the community folder, and then run the installer as administrator
and try to install again
It doesn't appear in the community folder
do you have a folder in there called flybywire-current-install-<numbers>
are you completely sure
make sure the installer is installing in the folder you're expecting (check download settings)
This is the folder
It's "install folder" the setting
separate from community
because you can install it somewhere else
Are they set to the same place?
Yes
If you encounter an error with the installer, please send a copy of the installer log here in #a32nx-support To do this:
- Open the debug tool with ^Ctrl + F12
- Find and select 'Console' in the top menu
- Right click anywhere in the log displayed
- Click 'Save as' and send the log to us
How do I send it?
by sending the file you save
On discord?
Yes
thanks will take a look in a bit currently at work
Ta
?
Have you had a chance to look yet?
Just looked now. It looks like there is some issue getting update info from the server
are you able to download this file?
does it says something like "checking your browser..." or show a captcha first?
(no need to do anything with the file just need to know if you can download it without hurdles)
I'll let you know when I'm in front of my pc
I'm away from it till Sunday or Monday
my installer has a problem
my browser is chucking up an internet firewall
it will download no problem
wdym?
It wouldn't let me access the browser page due to a security firewall on the Internet but I've sorted it now and can confirm the file you sent downloads
okay, and does the installer work now?
what security firewall are we talking about
is it software installed on your computer
It's on the WiFi network
I live on a college/uni campus
Fortiguard
That could be the issue
If you managed to access the website Holland linked, what steps did you follow? Apply those to whitelist the installer as well
And you will be able to download it
Not really all the other mods on the installer are downloadinh
When I followed the link it gave me the option to request a reevaluation of the page to get it whitelisted
Not had an option for that with the installer
I see, you won't probably be able to see this page as the installer runs these requests in the background
Try using a VPN
They all use different servers
The WiFi blocks all VPN's
You can try downloading and compiling the plane your self, if GitHub and Docker can be accessed from your wifi
@gentle monolith Have you managed to resolve this?
Not yet
@gentle monolith Check where the fbw installer thinks your community folder is. click on the cog wheel at bottom left, click on download and check if the location shown for the community folder is correct.
I can't open that link that is given for the .json file. screen just flashes and does nothing else
