I'm really unsure how to read this map as it lacks basic information like where the waypoints are
The aircraft can overshot the turns if you accelerate during them or if wind suddenly changes, as the turn geometry is locked the moment you begin the turn
And what should we do to prevent that, or what should we do will that is happening?
regarding the wind? you can't, it's physics
could be MSFS abruptly changing it
But what should we do to get the plane back on track?
nothing, the LNAV+FG do that already for you
The plane captures any path it's guiding at a 45 degree intercept angle given that it is not unreasonably far away
so it'll always go back towards what it's trying to fly
👍🏻
Thanks for your help. No, the wind did not change, and no, the plane was at a constant speed. And the overshoot can be seen in the middle of the sceenshot
No it's hit or miss, it happened twice out for about 6 turns during the cruise and once on departure, and once on arrival during the RNAV. Wind was about a 50kt crosswind.
Was at FL310
I don't know if we take into account wind in predicted turn speeds yet.
overshoots happen when the aircraft cannot perform the turn in the radius predicted by the LNAV
that can happen if the turn is flown at a higher speed than the value used to calculate the turn radius
I think we don't
