#Old Frieren Game Dev
1 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
oh lord I’ve been drafted
thought i would create this thread since i keep seeing ppl talk about it
yes and i will keep drafting more lol
if only so ppl have a place to talk about it
The demon war requires soldiers…
What types of games are you making?
tbh I’ve switched majors away from game dev cause the uni was switching its focus to AI heavy stuff and I didn’t fw that but it’s something I’d pursue ok the side
what ya talking about
frieren game dev
thought it was about time this thread get made
I too have been drafted
People were talking about a frieren based game in one of the channels and I got involved cause it’s a “topic I’m educated in so I wanna talk about it” type deal lfmao
it requires one simple order... and around a dozen nukes
It’d probably be better for it to stick to collabs for now though until stuff is more fleshed out
god only knows it’d likely be based around the demon war era
so is this like “Frieren the game” or is this “demon war game with frieren references”
Man I just started learning bout game dev
yall getting roped in lol
one of things people were talking about was what a frieren game would even be about lmfao
yeah i was planning on making a fangame myself but maybe someone else would want to make a definitive "frieren the game"
I think a game based around himmels adventure would be a good path since we haven’t seen that much in the anime or manga but lord only knows if the author would even want that
you could easily make that into a classic rpg
I wanted to make a game similar to Frieren anime maybe an rpg where the central theme was about self exploration. As you travel across the land you learn more about the world and yourself.
Seems like everyone had the idea to make a frieren rpg
RPGs can be a big ask I’ll warn you if your totally new mostly because you gotta deal with the art as well
My idea was more based on action rpg
97% of my projects end in “I don’t wanna draw this and commissioning is super expensive”
I was gonna treat it as a way to slowly learn game dev in godot
Currently making a frieren tower defense game in godot to learn the fundementals for game dev.
you gotta be self-taught or collab for game dev or you're gonna run out of money
I was gonna say some of the best game concepts to self teach yourself are side scrollers, tower defenses and oddly enough parkour games
who here has the most gamedev experience?
vampire survivors-likes are also good to start
don’t look at me I haven’t touched it in half a year
I’d say about 4 years worth
Already made a 2d platformer and a vampire survivor game
So I was tryna explore top down
hm alright
for me ive done a bajillion technical demos for various mechanics ive wanted to see but no real games
I see. I was more wondering I guess what sort of project this was. Just fan work though from the sound of it
I did graduate as a CS major but only have one semesters worth of experience. It is something I am passionate about as a side project so I'll continue to stick to it.
oh shoot maybe this couldve been a #frieren-fan-projects thread
My last project was supposedly a rimworld ripoff but 3D according to a friend, whatever that means
tbh I only entered the convo to try and counter someone’s point and now were here lmfao
I haven’t coded honestly in a while
Sounds about right
I could convinced to help out. Can’t promise I am any good at this sort of thing though
Archiving to move to #1324470034608685109
