#

anyway anyone should be able to make a thread under messages now if there's anything they wanna discuss more specifically without getting lost in link waves

ember merlin
#

ok!

pale sage
#

Also this is a good song!!!

gritty flicker
#

Oh wow that was really sick

#

And then it started intensifying quicker than I thought it would and I went “oh, silly me, it’s a rap song with a funky guitar intro”

#

And then it hit

#

And it was none of those lmao

pale sage
#

😭

#

It's really funny how I can kinda see why you'd think that but it does indeed turn out to be none of that

#

The whole EP this song came from goes really hard. Loved the apocalyptic sound so much

gritty flicker
#

real, I'll go check it out

gritty flicker
#

gonna use this thread to talk about shit to not make a billion million threads

#

SCARING THE HOES!!!

#

i've been trying to like peggy music for a while

#

and danny brown

#

but

#

every time I've tried, the choppy and harsh production made me want to kill myself and danny's silly voice was annoying to me

#

NOW

#

it's the fourth attempt of throwing my head against a wall and trying to listen to this album

#

and it worked!!!!

#

good album!!

#

shit's hype!!!

#

I think the difference is that i've listened to more typically harsh trappy stuff now

#

so, I thank Migos for making me like SCARING THE HOES

#

and weezy

#

but I actually like a lot of weezy stuff

#

so putting him alongside migos kinda feels like a crime

#

conclusion: what a fucked up album that made me bash my head against the wall many of times, the individual sounds it brings are fucking horrible but make for a great experience put together

#

HOES SCARED SUCCESSFULLY!!!!!!!!

#

this is so fucked up that I don't feel confident rating it without listening to it again

pale sage
#

but yeah this album slays

gritty flicker
#

I recently went through the Daughters discography

#

and not in a good way

#

listened to track 1 for 10 seconds and went NOPE

#

very grating screamo metalcore type

#

which is much more pleasant than Canada Songs ironically

#

and while the vocals are still not for everyone, they're bearable enough so that I can enjoy the way in which they integrate with the aggressive slamming guitars

#

kinda reminds me of Serj vocals on SOAD in a very distant cousin way

ember merlin
#

I love Canada!

gritty flicker
#

yeah now listen to Fur Beach

ember merlin
#

i got my ipod rn

#

no link cable

#

listening to Yes

gritty flicker
#

amen

ember merlin
#

ill listen to it eventually

gritty flicker
#

DONT

#

shit sucks

ember merlin
#

which??

#

you just told me to listen to Fur Beach? or not that

gritty flicker
ember merlin
#

2112

gritty flicker
#

shit sucks

ember merlin
#

oh

gritty flicker
#

dont listen to it

ember merlin
#

get on the rush grindset

#

i dunno if this is the right noe

gritty flicker
#

will some day

ember merlin
#

damn..

#

moving pictures is also fantastic

gritty flicker
#

and it's just as noisy and annoying as Canada Songs

gritty flicker
#

instrumentals are very nice

#

all that

#

overall great

#

this shit is GREAT

#

vocals no longer sound like distant relatives of nu metal lead singers

#

definitely sounds like its own thing

#

integrates PERFECTLY with the guitars and drums

#

and it really makes you FEEL

#

something

#

whether it's what the fuck type anxiety, balling or just jamming out

#

one of the coolest metal/noise rock type albums ever I think

ember merlin
#

not

#

noted

gritty flicker
#

nope

#

will do later though

pale sage
#

Frieren3 i think you might like it

gritty flicker
#

based

gritty flicker
#

usually dislike screamo sounding stuff

#

but this is interesting and genuinely insane sounding enough for me to enjoy the aesthetic

#

the wall of sound that the instruments and vocals hit you with combined with more modern "internet" music type concepts is cool

#

there isn't really any songs that stood out as significantly better or worse

#

the intro is neat considering what happens next lol

#

feels like it baits you into thinking "oh this is gonna be some experimental sounding breakcore" and then the next song comes in and destroys your ear drums

#

and while it does have breakcore elements, I would hesitate to label this as breakcore at all

ember merlin
#

interesting

#

will give it a look

#

im like 99% sure i've listened to them before

ember merlin
#

@pale sage where did you sign this server up for the Anicord event?

#

i'd dm you but i assume you have dms disabled from here and this is probably the only place i could think it wouldn't be buried

pale sage
pale sage
#

They just kinda reached out to us and we just kinda agreed

ember merlin
#

Damn

#

Do you have the tag of whoever reached out?

#

I wouldn’t trust our owner to communicate if someone did with us

pale sage
#

It's 448318227219742720

#

frazzle_dazzle

ember merlin
#

oh shit

#

ive seen him before

pale sage
#

Is that good or bad

gritty flicker
#

I gave it a quick listen in 2023 and thought it was kinda overhyped

#

This is very good, definitely the right amount of hype surrounding it

#

Lil Yachty going “fuck making bad music, I’m gonna make good music now” and creating Let’s Start Here is probably one of the coolest moments of 2023 and I kinda slept on it

#

I was gonna re-listen to Meddle for the 18246th time and then looked at this album and went “why not.” I’m gonna re-listen to Meddle anyway but now I have the knowledge that the future of modern psychodelia outside of australia is looking bright

#

I especially liked IVE OFFICIALLY LOST VISION and REACH THE SUNSHINE, the two songs with all caps titles

#

They are more intense

#

And REACH THE SUNSHINE is a great album closer

#

There’s also some spoken word bits sprinkled in there

pale sage
#

Yeah the Ili Yachty album is actually really good

#

I relistened to it like several times it's actually really solid

gritty flicker
#

ITS CRAZY

#

Yeah

#

Very wild!!!

#

My ass did not expect it to be that good

pale sage
#

Trust Yachty

gritty flicker
#

Ive gotten over my gripes with the autotune usage and have been enlightened with the fact that his ass is not automatically tuning his voice, he’s distorting it to shit and using it as a new instrument

pale sage
#

The Travis Scott method

#

It's great actually

ember merlin
#

i've only seen them send emojis in the past

ember merlin
#

ty hexa btw

gritty flicker
#

i feel like the title of this thread may damage the visibility of it

#

oh well

#

yeule discog dive

#

(LPs only for now)

#

REALLY FUCKING GOOD

#

they're all quite similar\

#

and I mostly listened to them as background music while doing other shit

#

but I'd probably love these albums more if i did actually paid attention to them

#

it's like art/dream pop but what if a bit more harsh electronic noises and sprinkle in some shoegaze while you're at it

#

i think most music can be enhanced if you sprinkled some shoegaze into it

#

the vocals in here are top tier

#

vibes are immaculate

#

even the album cover represents the content very well

#

and I love the background instrumentals

pale sage
#

softscars was great Frieren3 tho ifee l it's a bit frontloaded

#

the later half didn't leave any impression on me

gritty flicker
#

Real and real

#

I feel like they’re good on their own but the first half is too good

ember merlin
#

@gritty flicker make a new thread then and name it accordingly

#

pretty sure you have perms to do that
