i had terralith installed for a little while on a world ive been playing on with my bestie, decided i didnt want it, deleted all chunks with terralith generation with mca, it actually worked for a little while, but now the game doesnt let me into the world stating an error with datapacks and the log points me to terralith biomes being the problem, but i just cant figure out how to fix this, ive tried resetting level.dat ๐Ÿ’”

either:

  • there's still a chunk with a terralith biomes somewhere
  • the level.dat didn't get reset correctly. are you on a paper/spigot/etc server? you need to delete the level.dat and level.dat_old in all world folders: not just world, but world_nether, world_the_end, etc

ah alright, ill try deleting some more chunks, though i went pretty liberal with deleting even chunks that we'd explored before installing terralith.. the error its throwing me starts with
*"[Render thread/ERROR]:Registry loading errors:

Errors in registry minecraft:root:

Errors in element minecraft:worldgen/biome:
java.lang.IllegalStateException: Unbound values in registry ResourceKey[minecraft:root / minecraft:worldgen/biome]: [terralith:alpha_islands, etc insert all terralith biomes"* if that narrows down the problem. thanks for the help already, its really appreciated!

can you send the entire log file?

#

and you need to make sure you delete all chunks that have a terralith biome left. if there's a single one still in your world, it will not load

I've taken a glance at your log. Here are some potential issues I found!

  • It appears Terralith was uninstalled incorrectly. Biomes must be removed from the level.dat - see /faq Removing Worldgen Packs.

oop

#

well i guess theres my problem

#

is disconnector just for stopping terralith from generating any new terrain? because that would also be fine with me, because i cant for the life of me figure this out ๐Ÿ˜ญ i dont want to have to reset the entire overworld since we've built a lot, and ive deleted an insane amount of chunks already, only ones left are ones that are around our base and were definitely there before terralith was introduced to the world

no all our building has been done in standard biomes, terralith was installed mid-game mostly just to check it out, but we decided we wanted it to be a little more vanilla

#

how are you deleting chunks?

supple siren

mcaselector

ocean nacelle

i can get a 1.21.5 version of Disconnector for you, but the reason i'm pushing for you to delete the chunks is that it's healthier for your world. if all chunks with terralith are deleted, and level.dat is reset, then terralith is no longer attached to your world at all and you can rest easy.

but if you use Disconnector. if you update your world, (most times) you'll also need to update disconnector, which would rely on you waiting for me to give you a new version of disconnector. terralith is still in your world permanently

#

_ _
that's why Disconnector is marked as experimental, and should only be used if your entire world has been using Terralith the entire time. but since you have only built up your world pre-terralith, it's best for you to not use it

#

but give me 5ish minutes, and i'll have a 1.21.5 version of Disconnector for you. then you can decide for yourself what you want to do. oh, and i dont think i specifically said so: but the log you just shared, shows there's still a lot of chunks left with terralith biomes

supple siren
#

thats really strange, maybe i just dont know exactly how to use mcaselector since i really thought i got rid of them all, thank you so much though, im gonna try to figure out the chunk deletion a little longer so i could maybe avoid using disconnector

ocean nacelle
#

(and make sure you deleted both level.dat and level.dat_old too, not just level.dat)

supple siren
#

ok so another strange thing is that i cant create a new world either, it spits out a very similar log which i can send

ocean nacelle
#

is this singleplayer? (aka are you opening up using LAN or Essential or something similar) and are you using mod or datapack verison of terralith?

supple siren
#

yeah the new world im trying to create for a test is singleplayer, not opening that one up, but in general im using Essential, its the mod version of Terralith. and when i do have it installed the game works just fine, its only when i delete it that it starts not letting me into any world at all

ocean nacelle
#

make sure you completely exited out of minecraft/essential after removing Terralith. if that doesn't work, i worry essential might cache world generation data, which would be weird

#

anyways, here's disconnector 1.21.5. might need a few adjustments, hasnt been tested (the only issues is that your world still wont load, just with different errors. wont break things or anything)
