#Terralith bricked an old save.

Ive had my creative world since 1.16. I recently installed terralith for a new survival(1.21) world and I also played in my creative world for testing stuff (as I usally do every update). However I unsintalled terralith for a new survival world and now I cant play on my old creative world because of "errors in selected data packs". If I reinstall terralith it works fine, but I cant quit and relaunch the game every time I want to change between worlds. Is there a way to recover/fix my old save?

you will have to delete every newly with terralith generated chunk yes

#

you would do that by using mcaSelector

if you install terralith as a mod, it will apply itself to every world you create. thereś nothing we can do about this without making it into a "real" mod (right now its a datapack disguised as a mod). so if you joined your creative world with terralith installed, the game applied terralith to that world. (if you want to swap worlds without having to instlal/uninstall terralith, use the datapack version of terralith. the datapack applies itself only to the world you install it on)

now, yes, this is fixable. go to this website, and do ONLY steps 4 and 5. If you do the other steps, it will delete your world. DO NOT delete your world.

  • if, while terralith was "installed" on your creative world, you never generated a new chunk. you just stuck to the chunks already existing in your world. you are all good!
  • if a new chunk did get generated (aka terralith terrain was applied somewhere in your world), you need to delete this chunk(s) before it will work. i hear good things about MCA Selector for these kinds of jobs, but i am unfamiliar with it so i cannot help with the tool.

that should be all, and you should be able to open your world again without issues. let me know if you have further questions
