here can see that 48% of main thread is being used up (possibly due to incendium)

yep, Incendium is a laggy pack. not too much you can do about it. performance is a huge reason we we are working or rewriting it from the ground

is there any way we can remove the datapack while retaining the custom generation?
(we have already pregenerated to 5kx5k)

You can use Incendium Biomes Only/IBO

and will it be possible to downgrade from the incendium pack to the IBO pack without issues?
