#Editing Level.dat and Resetting The End

Currently using both Terralith (2.45) and Nullscape (1.2.3) on a Fabric 1.20.1 singleplayer world (using modrinth). Not currently using any other worldgen mods - just minor ones.

I've removed nullscape and the necessary files in DIM1, hoping that my end would reset to it's vanilla state, but wasn't able to use the stardust website to edit my level.dat folder - I just received error messages (as seen in the attached screenshot).

I intend to keep terralith but remove nullscape, and I'm not really sure where to go from here in terms of editing level.dat and removing additional files.

I'm assuming that'd be the same with remote gateways

vapid latch
#

oh, i think i know what i did

wind slate

#

Maybe I'm missing something?

vapid latch
#

what is the y-level when you stand at 0, 0?

wind slate
#

it's 60 in the end

vapid latch
#

this issue is a note for me to fix in my tool, because the y-level can change there

wind slate
#

it's still the same

#

is there anything I should try do?

vapid latch
#

you reset your end between that?

wind slate
#

yeah, I loaded my backup from before and deleted region in dim1

#

then replaced level.dat

#

and deleted level.dat old

vapid latch
#

make sure you

  • stop server
  • delete level.dat and level.dat_old inside of all folders
  • put new level.dat inside world folder
  • start
wind slate
#

I can try again, but I dont think I'll have much luck

vapid latch
#

yes

#

world, world_nether, world_the_end

wind slate
#

I dont think I have those folders

#

I'm on fabric

vapid latch
#

oh

#

for some reason i thought you were on paper

wind slate
#

would that maybe be the issue?

vapid latch
#

no

#

this might sound counter productive, but it may help. make sure you started up your world with the most recent level.dat i had sent. enter the end, and double check that the end portal is missing. stop your server, then grab the level.dat in your world folder, and send it here

#

im curious if the game is overriding it for some reason with something else

wind slate
#

ill try that

vapid latch
#

will check it out in a bit, currently away from my machine

vapid latch
#

ok, everything looks like it should be working

#

not sure why it is not

#

i even tested it in singleplayer and got it working. this level.dat is the same, just adjusted the height a tiny bit of the end portal

#

when you try it next time. instead of deleting DIM1, try deleting both the region and entities folder inside of DIM1, but not DIM1 itself. it might make a slight difference

#

saw no exit portal when i spawned in

#

but when i actually killed the dragon, the exit portal generated with a second egg on top

#

i guess that's means that it's working ๐Ÿค”

#

much thanks for the help

#

do you need any more info on the error I got from the website?

vapid latch

wind slate
#

if it's more effort than it's worth than its alr

#

i dont mind having two eggs

vapid latch
#

oh, i meant the portal regenerating after you killed it

#

the eggs i wasnt worried about - if you dont like it, you can just delete one of them

#

i would like the portal to be there from the start

wind slate
#

alr yeah, do you need me to send any files for that?

vapid latch
#

nope

#

we're all good

#

i have everything i may need
