I'm running a server with an avg of 5-10 people on at once, we are using all three world generation datapacks. when it gets to 5 people and people start generating the lag almost becomes insufferable, after looking around for a solution, something ive seen is to use Paper or a Fork of it, my question is; if I were to swap the server jar straight to paper or a better version of it from vanilla, would my server break? We are approx 30 hours in

Thank you for viewing it so fast!
nope, shouldnt cause any issues. but you should always take a backup beforehand when making those types of changes, just in case
also, check out this if you have not already
Pregeneration
Worldgen alone only causes lag when generating chunks for the first time. Because of this, pregenerating your world is highly encouraged. One of the only and best pregen mods/plugins is Chunky.

a good paper fork if you're using incendium is Petal as it has asynchronous mobs
I see! Do you recommend paper or a fork of it? (I read elsewhere) that pufferfish/petal is good
:)
im too fast
It should be a seamless transition just by swapping out the jars right
yes
also, i should note this: Petal has technically stopped development at of 1.19.2, due to not having the devs for it. there may be stable community forks that spring up later, but dunno
Awesome, I read about the pre generation of chunks and alot of the videos had a world border, if one was not to have one would I have to be worried about anythingg
Oh awesome, luckily my server is on 1.19.w
2*
and yes, if you need to update afterwards, and Petal doesnt have an update available, you can swap to a different fork like Pufferfish
Sounds so good!
We get rehabilitating like umm "lag" with eating food/hitting mobs breaking blocks so hopefully petal can fix itt
Thank you so much guys, I'll be swapping over to petal and I'll be using chunky from now on
