Here's my verdict:

2D games - controller is good! But I can do same with keyboard anyways

2D games with mouse - didn't find any such games. Maybe I should checkout Enter the gungeon

3D mouse or no mouse - Controller induced nerf is real 💀. I would rather take more USB hubs & plug in Keyboard & mouse than use controller🫡

Tbf, I played for ½-1 hour each on these games:
No Man's Sky - I. Did. Not. Get. Used. To. Controls.
Genshin Impact - I did get used to it, but it was a long learning curve & I can play much better on mobile instead. I liked the HUD layout though.
Fez - Good experience!
Figment - took time to get used to.
