you have to consider everything a real spaceship engineer and designer would consider

entrance/egress points, the internal layout, the structural strength and stability

even something as nonsensicle in a virtual world such as "how many toilets does this ship have, where are they located, and would they be suffice for the expected crew load of this ship" has to be considered and is generally done in a very high quality manner

all of that is much different to copying a real world design, where other people have already thought of and come up with ideas for those issues
