Don't have to be too fast. The bot picks people who click the thumb at random. It doesn't matter if you hit it first or last. Chances to get in are the same.

If I have two accounts how do I invite 10 people when hosting a raid? I've noticed other hosts with '6 11' raid numbers. Is there a way to add the second account so that the bot will assign a certain account so there is no double up? Or is the trick inviting 5 then leaving the lobby for 30sec, then jumping back in and inviting the remaining 5 accounts?

Unfortunately, you can't add 2 game accounts to your account here. What you could do is ask the half the people in the discord lobby to add your second account then invite from there, but make sure you're communicating properly with them, else it'll cause more trouble for yourself if you didn't end up inviting all of them.
As for the leaving and inviting trick, we don't suggest you do it, as half the people won't get an invite until it's quite late.
