3. check the Hidden Items box

see if the mod appears

You disable mods through that green button on the right side of the mod in the mod list, next to the delete button. Or you can manually go into the mod folder and add ".disabled" to the end of the file name
If you do it correctly, the mod will be gray in the modrinth list

• open modrinth app
• select instance
• see the mod list
• on the right hand side of the list, there are green ovals
• click one
• it should look like this

• alternatively, manually go into the mod folder and add ".disabled" to the end of the file name
• the disabled file should look like this

And for the mod you can't find, it's probably either in the mod folder or added by another mod

You should do a binary search until you find a mod that, when disabling it, removes simple mod

You have to manually disable half of them unfortunately
It doesn't have to be half every time though. I personally disable a page at a time
