I was sent here from the geckolib discord because they cant figure out why geckolib isnt showing up, i have it installed but i keep getting this error message.
In addition i've also occasionally gotten an error saying that fabric api isnt installed after i change the version of geckolib even though fabric api wasnt touched, and the error isnt gotten when i have ars nouveau disabled

click on the three dots next to geckolib and press show file and see if its in the same location as all your other mods

your geckolib version is higher than the required version
you have 4.8.2 but it requires 4.2.1

4.2.1 or above but im guessing since you bring this up there's a limit to what "above" can mean, and i should go check out the ars discord or wherever for a list of versions that work for it?

you might be using a forge version of ars
since geckolib doesnt have a 4.2.1 neoforge version
