Is there a way to update a modpack and save the world and player data that we have from a previous version?

you could copy-paste the world folder or how is it called [the folder should contain DIM-1, DIM, playerdata and other folders]
note that if any mode in the new modpack which was in the old one is missing, has removed or renamed some blocks, it could do unexpected things in the world
