#Instance won't start after updating fabric to 1.16.9

Like the title says, my instance won't run after updating the fabric loader version from 1.15.10 to 1.16.9, likely due to the plethora of mods I (haphazardly) installed. I tried allocating more ram, but that didn't help.

I've linked the logs below, and a picture of the fabric loader version and game version. Hopefully that helps somehow, otherwise feel free to ask me some questions since I have no clue what I'm doing, and probably am killing my computer with the collection of mods I have (will provide that too once I can use my PC again, if needed).

It might be bclib/better nether

#

But there doesn't really seem to be a problem for some reason

#

any chance it might also be create mod? it worked fine until I updated create AND fabric.

#

should I go do that and get the logs?

devout basin
#

Possibly? I seem to remember this being a problem when that version came out with worldgen mods relying on a bug

I also have better end, but haven't loaded the end yet, should I remove that aswell?

#

sorry, I'm completely clueless about any of this

send the latest crash report from the crash-reports folder of the instance, that should make it obvious what happened

That's alright. If you remove bclib and the things that need it (better nether, better end), it might fix it. If not, I don't have a good idea.

#

Oh yeah, mr app yeets crash reports from the log. I forgot about that.

proud lichen
#

really wish they would fix that...

heady lake
#

so wait do I put the crash report through mclo.gs or just send it raw

so do I need a degree in programming to read the logs orrrrr......

#

seems that Traveler's Compass doesn't like Create, but I don't know why that would only start crashing after updating Fabric

heady lake
#

?????

#

a single item, of all things

proud lichen
#

oh there's a newer version of Traveler's Compass on CurseForge if you want to see if that fixes the issue

#

or just remove the mod

heady lake
#

I'm not sure how to add that to a modrinth instance though

#

thanks for your help anyways!

proud lichen
#

you can add a mod from anywhere if you download the .jar file for it then import it into Modrinth here

ohhh

#

is it fine if set this as solved for now, and if there's any problems afterwards I set it back as unsolved?

proud lichen

it was the compass, but now there's another error

heady lake
#

oh

proud lichen
#

try updating Presence Footsteps

heady lake
#

huh??????

#

alright

#

HOW DID THAT WORK

#

why did that work?

#

big thanks, computer wizard

proud lichen
#

it said that Presence Footsteps was incompatible with Create, so I looked at the new versions of Presence Footsteps and saw an updated that said it fixed Create compat
