my modrinth server crashed when I joined it and moved around a little bit, this is one of the first times I've actually been able to join it at all.

Can anyone identify the cause of the crash in this report and tell me how I can fix it?

ServerHangWatchdog detected that a single server tick took 60.00 seconds (should be max 0.05)
the server lagged itself to death

watchdog stopped the server, go to the server properties and set max-tick-time to -1

I gathered that much but I'm not sure why or what to do about it

crimson sandal
#

or fix the lag

molten timber
#

would just throwing more ram at it be the only way to fix the lag?

crimson sandal
#

it could be cpu too

#

but preferably you'd want to find what mod(s) is lagging

gusty thorn
#

memory usage seems fine

#

you could try some server-side optimization mods

I'm too ignorant on this subject to know what to do next, is there a way to tell which mod could be causing it? would it appear a lot in the logs?

gusty thorn
#

the only way to tell that is to use a profiling tool like Spark to look at what the server's doing

it's likely caused by an incompatibility with sinytra connector

crimson sandal
#

or the forge ports of them

just browse Modrinth for some

#

there's quite a few

crimson sandal
#

yeah just tick the optimization filter and serverside filter on the mod search page

not really, logs with sinytra aren't very helpful and it's still pretty experimental

oh alright

crimson sandal
#

that ^

#

it just highlights errors and collapses non-error logs for us

molten timber
#

is this helpful?

gusty thorn
#

there's quite a lot there

crimson sandal
#

paintable is causing A LOT of errors

molten timber
#

should I try removing paintable? any others?

gusty thorn
#

Paintable is throwing so many loot table errors that the log cuts off, so I can't see if there's more

molten timber
#

okay I'll try removing paintable and restarting the server

crimson sandal
#

loot tables are so incredibly unoptimized that I wouldn't be surprised if that's what's crashing it

molten timber
#

I also changed the max tick to 0, but I figure if I wanna replicate the crash with a cleaner log I should change it back

molten timber

well to be honest, removing paintable seems to have fixed the issue, as I'm not crashing out now. I'll keep testing later today, and if more issues crop up, I will post here again, if not, I will check this as solved
