hello, so a long time ago i made modrinth always open upon windows startup by enabling it in the Startup apps tab in Task Manager, and that was working fine. but recently, every time i opened my PC, it would open modrinth on version v0.8.2, and then it'd ask me to update it to v0.8.5, so i'd accept, it'd update and then run modrinth on v0.8.5 as expected, but still go back to v0.8.2 the next time that i'd open my PC, then i'd update it over and over again. so finally i decided to do something about it, and i noticed 2 things:
- when i open modrinth by searching for it in the start menu, it'd open it on
v0.8.5. so i searched for it again and clickedOpen file location, found the shortcut it opens, and then found the app that shortcut actually opens which was calledtheseus_gui.exein some folder along with an uninstall app - i went to the
Startup appstab inTab Managerand found that it leads to a different app in a different folder than the one the start menu search leads to, and iirc the app there was calledModrinth Appinstead oftheseus_gui.exe, and it also had an uninstall app which had a different icon and slightly different name.
so what i did is i went to the Modrinth App one from the Startup apps tab, and i used its corresponding uninstall app since it kept opening on v0.8.2 and restarted my PC.
so now my issue is that the Startup apps tab in Tab Manager no longer has modrinth in the list of apps and therefore i cannot make it open on startup, and also it's named theseus_gui.exe in the Processes tab in Tab Manager which is a bit worrying since it used to just be called Modrinth or Modrinth App iirc.
i think that when i uninstalled the Modrinth App version, it made my PC not register modrinth at all, even though there's the theseus_gui.exe version. although i did notice that if i search Add or remove programs in the start menu (or just go to Settings -> Apps -> Installed Apps), Modrinth App is still on that list.
