I had a fix for this
go to the place you installed modrinth
(default is C:\Program Files\Modrinth App)
and run modrinth app.exe
That works for me

Try reinstalling the app first
I reinstalled and got it working for the first time
Then close the app

And open again to see the error so i just use the exe

for me uninstalling the app AND everything associated with it helped
you have to back up your stuff first though

I uninstalled and then installed
My mods are still there
And i don't even have to log back in

i wanted to reinstall from the go, but i was too lazy to backup files just in case and got some size there

The profiles and the app's files are different
So uninstalling won't delete your files
Unless
