#Connection Reset Error When Using Modrinth App

Whenever I try to join a server using the Modrinth app, it easily logs on but then stops connection to the server, giving me the classic "connection reset" error. My instance has no mods that could interfere with server compatibility (mostly just performance, shader, and quality-of life fixes mods), I'm pretty sure all of them are for the right version of Minecraft since I checked pretty thoroughly. This doesn't happen when running the game from the official Minecraft launcher, it works fine but the Vanilla game runs so bad.
The instance, mods, and server are all running on 1.20.4.
