So there’s been a lot of talk/issues with the current pvp meta within ark since the release of genesis 2. After hearing a lot of different opinions n changes that people want these are the things I’ve kinda put together and I’m interested in what people think as a community. (Ofc none of these changes will actually be made cause I’m not a dev)

NOGLINS

• a way of breaking free from the noglin, something like the bloodstalker chance idea

• reduction to the time it can take control of someone from 2 mins down 1 min (probs won’t make a stupid amount of difference

• additional damage received to any noglined Dino to help counter things like noglin tappy/rex/stego

SHADOWMANE

• remove dismount feature and replace it for slow/stun (same as electric eel)

• decrease HP% per level up gained to make easier to kill

VOIDWYM

• same thing as shadowmane, remove dismount feature and replace it for slow/stun (same as electric eel)

• remove infinite ability to use breath, have same amount of build up time to then have the same attack time as a lightning wyvern breath attack.

NET

• Some kind of cool down for dinos not to be netted straight away after breaking free, 20 seconds? Something around that

• no dismount when netted, use same mechanic as bloodstalker break free

• reduce time players can be netted by from 1 min to either same as bola or lower time as you can’t tek suit.

For noglins you just need to turn off whatever device you are playing on.

For shadowmanes simply have better weapons and lines to kill them with.

Who actually has the time to get enough mutagen.

Ban nets, just remove them from the game.

Eventually youll have 450 dinos

Not sure what they mean here. Maybe tethering distance? Shouldn't be a thing on a dedicated server though.

Shadowmanes are good but they kill open world PVP

They do need to be nerfed to some degree, but I think the chain stun/dismount is great in certain scenarios.

It's a dino that could be really nice for PVP and could really balance the game against OP dinos that have not many counters to.

I think shadowmanes should only be able to stun + dismount dinos that are OP and have very little counters:

*they definitely should not be able to dismount mek riders

Tapes(because they're OP and are very hard to counter), original wyverns(They have basically no counter if you know how to use them), shadowmanes(because there is like no counter to them as they are so fast and have so much HP and armor)

Nets are good but need a few changes:

Quetzals shouldn't be nettable; you can't just fly into someone's turrets and pick their dinos anymore because of nets, I agree that nets are good vs hatchframe quetzals, as there arent many good counters to hatchframe quetzals, but u shouldnt be able to counter a quetzal flying into ur turrets to pick a dino, or a quetzal coming up to pick a stego that's soaking turrets

Stegos shouldnt be nettable, stegos were a good addition to the game meant to nerf meta base spots, now with nets there are many base spots that were practically unraidable, and now are impossible, or many bases that were hard to raid and now are impossible

Original wyverns should be nettable

and there are more that i havent listed probably

VOIDWYRMS

Voidwyrms are fine, except for the fact that they make basespots like oil caves etc unraidable because you can just keep using the right click ability nonstop and there's nothing u can do about it.

They're good for open world PVP, they arent TOO OP as they are hard to maneuver and can only dismount/stun dinos from a very close range

You just shouldn't be able to keep using the right-click ability nonstop without having a certain cooldown in between.

Bruh ark doesnt care about pvp, look at the noglin..... an dino that has 3 min of turning off all your defenses. Shadowmanes that can dash deathwalls, they are a 1 day raise... you can raise 10 and drop every deathwall in the game. Openworld pvp is dead because shadowmanes, people using godmode exploits that still arnt fixed, people meshing caves with exomeks, tp mek, sleepingbag exploit. Official is soon dead af, because they dont care about it. Small tribes has megatribes teaming, discords with accountsharing haveing basicly 12 people in a tribe....

Shadows and void need a nerf for sure especially shadow they should remove the dismount it’s shit but nets shouldn’t be modified for wyverns and quetzal first because wyvern especially Lightning’s aren’t going to be op without the mane plus they get demolished by manas making it unnetable is essentially trowing it to the garbage making them unusable second making the quetzal unnetable doesn’t do shit quetz are easy as f to counter online (Z,reaper,tek punch , owl,void, chain bola trop and so on )

I just think the dismount thing should be nerfed as in giving it a longer cooldown and shorten the range and things, The dismount thing is what makes the shadowmane cool-ish and something worth taming.

Should be removed my guy you can dismount an entire row of gigas even with a cooldown + you can’t feel safe on anything if you are in a small group because If you get close you are getting dismounted and thrown to the ground ready to get munched by 3 gigas

We need a new kind of ORP mode for Ark 2 I dislike ORP but being offlined gotta suck. I can't relate to being offlined but I can't imagine the feeling signing in to a empty base. I think ORP should take effect at 12am Eastern and ends at 12pm so between 12pm to 12am you can raid etc and between 12am to 12pm you are safe. Being able to offline whenever you choose is kind of a broken mechanics.

Also, false equivalency. ISPs in many areas are functionally monopolies (there is no direct comparable competition in the area) if not an actual monopoly. If you want internet, you either go through them or go through a exponentially worse competitor. They don't have to care about the little guy. Gaming companies don't have that same market power and control as ISPs. If people don't like xbox or ps, they can switch to the other one or switch to PC and get at least a comparable experience. The same can't be said of ISPs in most areas.

It shouldn't be offline protection, since i can damage the structures using my own tools and explosives. And the structures are wood, and even a giga isn't doing damage to them.

And as far as the devs not caring about the game or players? I can personally attest to that. My tribe lost our entire server due to a crash when they released gen 2. And they didn't want to do a roll back because they would have had to do it to several other servers that had the same thing happen to them. Thousands of tames and hours of hard work. But it would have created a failed launch. And now we are finally built back up. Only a matter of time before there is a moment where a server is offlisted and you lose everything over again. Thanks devs. Even the player base knows how to fix the game better than you do.
