When will the Arkpocalypse servers without mods return? This was the only official experience that was wiped monthly and filled with players. Since they added mods, it empties after 6 days. Before, it lasted almost the entire month with players.

Does anyone have any advice on how to get going on playing PVP?
We as a 4 moved over onto a small tribes server for Ragnarok. We have only ever played on our own private server PVE but fancied something different and wanted to learn.

What we found was lots of clans working together, all communicating in a discord making it impossible for us to ever progress as a "small clan" as the server is intended.
They would kill and destroy every "bob" base even if it was little wooden 1x1's with no items in it.

The bigger clan with rockets, grenades and turrets clearly didn't want to PVP and would eliminate every weaker player before they ever had a chance to build up. They would offline everyone. Even killing their gatherers like doeys, beavers etc.

We considered moving to a old dead server to build up some stuff - one with not many or any players on it, before transferring back onto a more lively server with the hope that if we could build up enough we might actually be able to have some actual "PVP" but almost every server we go onto is foundation spammed every 5 feet over the entire map or people who have built tek/turrets or boxed off every obilisk making it impossible to play the game.

We want to play PVP, but its impossible unless you get on a brand new server on day 1.

The other biggest issue I have come across is when you join a server (for example the island) people putting Tek Turrets at the volcano, or build spamming over ob's so its quite literally impossible to do any of the objectives.

Hope the dev's do something about that - there needs to be a max build limit and you shouldn't be able to build within a decent distance from any Oblisks.

I’m not sure what’s the best option right now:

Is it still worth playing ARK: Survival Evolved on PC for PvP? Or is it kind of dead nowadays?

Or would it be better to start fresh on PS5 with ARK: Survival Ascended? How’s the PvP scene there?

Overall, what platform/version would you recommend in 2025 for an active and balanced PvP experience (ideally without too many cheaters)?

If you build in a pelagornis or ko rathole you could be banned, otherwise the only risk is your base spot being filled in or blocked off and losing all your progress

ratholes are fine as long as they are acessible, worst that can happen is they get filled in and you get trapped inside like the person above said. majority of ratholes that require peligornis/pt/ovis to get into could get you a global ban quite easily. ratholes that also lead to the mesh (mesh holes) will get you possibly dev wiped or worse on offical too. seperately if you played an unofficial server it would come down to how long it takes an admin on the server to find you and you would most definitely be punished.
