We as a community need to get together, and figure out a proper solution to cryos, in the current state it's impossible to raid anything and it's impossible to even play PvP. Ei. Pearl raid took over 8 hours and 100s of tames because you can't throw anything near the enemy, keep the cryo range and remove the enemy bs, something. At 100+ tames and 8 hours it's no longer fun, it's no wonder player count is so low, I know I'm not the only to say something, but things have to change or all dedicated players are gonna give up and go back to ASE, there's literally no point in trying raid it's not cost effective @wide wren

PvP question from a pve player. We play on a friendly mainly pve server but it’s on PvP for trolling/gentleman’s haircuts ect. If I have my heavy turrets on with a warning will that ignore rockets for the 2 seconds aswell? Keep in mind we’re not out to destroy each other I wanted a warning system just in case of fly byes

The whole problem with ORP servers is that Ark, in addition to a huge number of bugs, is a mainland game map system. If Ark had an island game map system on ORP servers, there would be fewer bugs with this system and it would make more sense. It's almost like in Atlas, you have an island, you sail to it, capture this island and you have 15 hours of a peace phase and 9 hours of a war phase. It would be possible to do something like this, but it is unlikely that this developer will do it. Even if they launch ORP servers, they will be just as shitty as in the first Ark.

Guys I have a question so say "hypothetically" some one in a tribe meshes another tribe and gets caught, like he's fried there's no comming back for him but his tribemate had nothing to do with it and his tribemate is tribed on another server with a fat base on it does his tribemates base get deved also? cuz iv seen previous accuraces where the devs track down [keep in mind his tribemate had nothing to do with it] "meshers" home servers and dev wipe them there also so I was just wondering if any1 knows what will happen

I'd guess the more people that are unrelated on the home server the less likely it is that home server gets dev'd, but in the same vein the more times it happens the less hope you have (indicates its problem with tribe not individual member)

from what I've seen meshing doesn't typically result in cross server devs, but bans are pretty common (this is from ASE, not sure if enforcement policy on meshing has changed)

And if you want ORP so bad, how would you like tribes blocking all the artifact caves with gates? You can't ban them, maybe they are just planning to build in all of them. You might say: "You can't put only a gate in front of a cave that's ORP abuse, and results in a ban". But then you have the discussion of when is a tribe living in the cave and when are they building to abuse ORP?

There need to be so many rules that devs need to enforce manually that it won't be worth it to make official ORP servers.

The Devs optimally shouldn't have to join servers to ban ppl or dev wipe, but because anti cheat is just impossible, they have to sometimes.

There is no revenue in making ORP servers, and to do it right it would probably cost 1/2 extra dev's (depending on the cluster size ofc) to enforce the rules

If WC is worried about handling moderation issues with ORP, they literally have to do one thing to solve 100% of ORP moderation problems and 99% of ORP problems in general. Just make a one hour raid interval sometime on Saturday or Sunday every week, and that will give an opportunity for any tribe to blow into caves that are alt tribing inside, or a chance to blow up spam that is covering artifacts or other important things. It will also give a good opportunity for tribes to raid any tribes that immediately log off when they are attacked, since one hour is enough time to do A LOT of damage to anyone that is offline, even if they do have a lot of defenses.

Cryos are planned to be changed eventually when extinction comes out, and it's not that hard to make other workarounds for that issue

also, having a one hour raid interval I'd say definitely keeps in tact the purpose of ORP, being that you don't have to play an egregious amount of hours throughout the week, with the one tradeoff that at least one of your tribe mates essentially has to be on for at least one hour in the week

and sure, there were other problems with ORP, but they weren't as meaningful and didn't affect the code of conduct, which is why I said it wouldn't solve all of the ORP issues, but it would all of the ORP moderation issues and all of the significant issues. Some other good changes though that aren't necessary but would improve the mode would be:

  1. Increasing ORP timer to 30 minutes from 15 minutes after being attacked recently.
  2. Make all non-dino structures indestructible for the first minute of logging on(to prevent people from camping and waiting for someone to log on).
  3. Disable pin codes.

You have already discoverd that there where problems with ORP that you didnt directly have a good solution to. To be fair i find your solutions pretty creative so tumbs up for that. But ORP is 1 of those things ppl can get really creative with aswel, and i expect that the dev's want to prioritize developing the game, instead of having to deal with every kind of creative way ppl can grief with ORP. That's why i said its unrealistic. And like is said just saying we want ORP isn't gonna help to get you ORP. Maybe if you make a good proposal with settings, and the reasons behind them.

5% of abuse is still a lot btw, the game itself works wonderful in 99.9% of the features. But the only thing you hear is those 0.1% of problems.

If you note there problem's and find solutions to them and document them in a profesional way there is a way bigger chance you can convince dev's to implement ORP.

Ideally you would find solutions that don't require making new features, but rather use the settings that already exist.

Because you might think a feature (this is a example) like moving artifacts outside of the cave's is a easy fix. but you can't see the code they have to change for that, it might be a fundamental feature that they can't change without putting a lot of time into it.

That was true in both ORP clusters. Ca5 and ca6. Rag has the best population where se had the worst. You can't really engage with the haters as they think the 5 minutes they spent reading about it or the 30 minutes olaying on them makes them experts on it. ORP is superior in almost every way if you want a regular and semi active cluster to play on with more than just 1 tribe dominating the entire server/cluster. It allowed alliances and wars and politics in a very personal way due to the clusters being small(1 server per map). ORP even developed its own meta from the other pvp servers. Did it have its problems yes but it literally could of been resolved by disabling pincodds. All this dumbest talk about trying g to come up with solutions and blah blah blah is the most ignorant thing people can say as it shows you know nothing about orp. Pin codes being disabled has been requested since orp first came out. That it. The end of that discussion. As far as being profitable....mother jehejuu38's no official server is profitable. They operate officials at a net loss for all servers. Even the premium maps are a 1 time purchase not a monthly sub to play on them. I'm willing to have them make ORP servers be a premium mod and I would happily pay it if it meant getting a cluster to play on. They got like 900 servers, ORP players are asking for 2 to 4 servers for christs sake. There wasn't any special treatment or enforcement needed on orp that wasn't being g offered to other servers so ya dunno what you people are talking about

In orp after you’ve been logged off for x amount of time nobody can damage anything you own.

ORP is Oficial Raid Protection, those servers have 15 min cooldown when a tribe go offline, after that 15 min the structures and Dino’s cannot get damage coming from other players or wild dinos

The thing is that in ASE those servers were full of cheaters, as they build with an alt account at the entrance of the caves, having offline protection always and being unraideable. And with his main tribe inside the caves, then you have the entrance that can’t be destroyed

Pretty much, this is why I suggested adding a one hour raid interval on Saturday or Sunday that disables offline raid protection. That way if anyone is ORP abusing they can’t do if for any longer than a week since whoever wants to deal with them can just blow their gates and raid their base. It would also force the bigger tribes to claim less spots since they wouldn’t be able to defend all their bases at the same time during the raid interval.

Because its generally regarded as the most aggressive server type. It is also plagued with teaming, cheating, hacking, duping and general douchery etc etc. It in theory should be a pretty competitive and fair server type but its exactly the opposite.

it's full of cheating , all the tribes left have monopolized the usuable base spots, blocked off access to tek, account share, form alliances, only way to compete in small tribes is to cheat too. Then you also have cheaters. our base was in a medium pear cave we grinded for months had capped tek and heavy turrets, and were raided in about 10 minutes due to meshers/cheaters.

Also I think Wild card is messed up for not making a notice it's not safe to build in certain areas because of meshers/cheats, so they are letting people waste time they will never get back farming for cheaters. They should wipe the mega tribes most of them cheat. They also cant really do anything to the cheaters because obviously they are going to create separate tribes to cheat so the cheaters main tribe will stay untouched. The game with meshing available is inherently flawed no point in playing without a super strong base spot.

Will the cryos be the same as they were in the ASE in the future, like when ext comes out or smt. If ASA had "normal cryos" there would be 3x times the amount of people playing, is too boring to scout, impossible to raid decent caves with decent tribes, the pvp isn't viable, the cryopods nerfs are making the pvp comunity dreacreasing bc the game is too boring without them, the pvp is bad, is impossible to raid, is hard to scout, srry for the language but u guys are being really dumb kepping the cryos this way
