I’ll give you a scenario you tell me how you would raid it legit. a small pearl cave. Only soakers you can fit in a small pearl is a basi, turtle. Imagine 90 turrets in it, tek/heavy turrets are ignore carbo and basi. Also 10 plant X. There’s a turtle wall on passive so you can’t whistle anything in the cave like carbo with c4 on it and keep in mind majority turrets are on walls and ceilings. Tell me how you’re raiding that?

that was the point, it gives other dinos a chance to shine with the cryo changes. gali's too.

but terror bird on carno is only gonna be good to try to run past the turrets and find the genny. but ideally you have internals covering everything in the cave so they never stop being shot. you arent jumping out of that water and reaching the ceiling, even frogs cant jump that high. takes 2 jumps, one to the crystal then another to reach most the turrets there.

though if you can time a rocket shot at the peak of the first jump maybe good enough splash dmg, havent tested that in a real raid scenario. but i did test a rocket detonating AT the crystal does very little damage to the turrets all the way at peak ceiling.

The cryo changes are making pvp too slow, and caves wayyyy too hard to raid (which wildcard said they wanted to bring the meta way from lmao). The absence of splash dmg is just so weird and once again makes attacking bases a lot less appealing...

I would also add to remove the ability to make vacuums invisible.. having to look around with binoculars to try and land directly where a vacuum is to find it, destroy it and be able to push your foundation control is just so stupid

Rhynios did get nerfed but were manas not op still after 3 nerfs?
Its still way too tanky and with racers and brontos getting better HP stats rhynios get stronger aswell.
My Rhynios currently get up to 50k Hp and with resin armor shotguns and fabis do practically 0 damage to it.
There is also no dino fast enough to pick it off.
It has pretty much no counter play at all.

Have you attacked a cave like pack or ice recently?
Because of the cryo changes you cant get stegos in those caves ans soaking with carbos is only possible offline.
The only way to raid those caves online is using pteras, terror birds to rocket run. A rocket in 6 × dmg used to blow up alot of structures with splash dmg in ASE.
IN ASA very often it will only hit 1 structure.
Instead of destroying all structures in splash dmg range it will very often only hit 1 structure.
This results in caves being extremely hard and time consuming to raid.
And in combination with the cryo change it makes raiding even weaker caves extremely hard.
I would much prefer to raid an ice cave on ASE even with the crouch over one in ASA due to 4 things that made caves in ASA so much stronger

1. Cryos being unusable
2. Turrets placeable on wall and ceiling of the cave
3. Structures being snapped in the mesh (bcs of no colision)
4. Bugged splash dmg
   Every single base spot on ASA is like 10× stronger than on ASE.
   The new maps are gonna have already way stronger base locations than island.
   For example Center (North Ice). These spots fully build will be completely unraidable with new ASA mechanics.

The problem was raiding was an absolute joke in ASE, and now they have somewhat over corrected. Given the two options, it being too hard is way better than it being too easy imo.

ASE you could go from level 1 to raiding anyone but an extreme mega tribe in about 48 hours at most, and it’s why PvP was such a ghost town in my experience.

ice is gonna be an expensive tame wise raid, but id focus on eliminating every turret on ground reachable level first to reduce pressure on future runs, have multiple people do the run at same time, dont get impatient having solo runners, have whoevers not on a bird send in an unridden turtle to reduce heat on the birds. then once its only ceiling left, start focusing going after the genny with PT's, again having multiple fly at the same time so split damage/reach further, send in unridden soaker too. having the 2-3 not riding birds focus on keeping defenders controlled. if the group is well coordinated, keeps up the pressure and doesnt run out of tames, it should eventuall fall without soaking.

and i can tell you when you start hitting them hard like that and they are actually losing turrets, morale will drop (my tribe sure as hell did, they folded up and picked up the caves once lost outside lol :()

I actually really like the openworld pvp on ASA, and think its better than the pvp on ASE.

That's the thing man, at the moment "defenders doing what they have to do" is basically doing nothing... and like I said yesterday, if the fight is completely one sided and costs so much more time and resources to attack with little to no prospect of winning, people will just stop attacking because it simply isnt worth it.

And like you said "cant you just enjoy the pvp instead of just enjoying wipping people", well back on ASE defenders actually had to come out and fight you, yes they still had the advantage and they had a full base they could rely on, but now on ASA people simply dont come out if they dont want to. If defenders are getting steam rolled they dont even have to fight anymore because the bases are just so much stronger that they can just go back inside and let the attackers waste resources for nothing.

i was, but being part of 200+ person tribes with quotas etc is a very different experience for the game, not everyone wants to treat it as a job. theres lot more politics going on in large tribes.

ORP solves keeping it simple for smaller tribes, and the game literally use to have it.

though i dunno why people just dont play on unofficials lol, plenty of better experiences than official but yeah there are a lot of bad ones sure. im gonna try my own official like but w/o offline raiding when ever more maps drop. idc to bother with it atm just playing other games

found a mod that makes raid like Atlas, with Raid Windows per tribe, so you can still get offlined if you dont get online during your raid window, but you control your own window so its your own fault if you arent on lol

i like that system over ORP as it gives you an end time to a raid too, lets you go to bed when raid window is up

As someone who has played their fair share of ORP, small tribes, and mega tribes, ORP was definitely the most fun while also being viable for people who actually have a life and don't play multiple hours per day, or aren't able to play for certain times in the week because of other priorities.

In smalls you have to be online for way too long, and also can't play with your full tribe since you are account sharing. In megas you basically just have no autonomy and are merely working to what your tribe goals are rather than what you want to do.

ORP is really the only middle ground where you don't have to be chronically online while also being in a small to medium sized tribe. And sure, you can always play on unofficial, but there is no guarantee the servers will stay up/not be wiped, and if your playing on unofficial there is likely bound to be rules set by the admins which not everyone likes to abide by. In this sense the official ORP on ASE was the only way to capture all of these elements in the game.

A lot of people like to shit on the concept of ORP, or the ORP mechanics, but they likely have no experience in actually playing on those servers so they are pretty much just talking out of their ass. It definitely wasn't a perfect system, but just like in normal ark if you interpret whatever flaws are in the game into your base defense and the way you played the game, you would do pretty well.

raiding is a absolute joke, terrain turrets should not be a thing, being able to not uncryo tames in enemy range should not be a thing, vacuum compartments should not beable to go invisible and be powered with no tek. should still need a tek gen for them at the verry least.
like am fine with cryos the way they are but turrets that on odd angles in some caves like teks taking 4+ rockets to break while runing is allmost imposable to clear. this needs to be changed. the old way how turrets placed was complety fine. still verry strong caves ect annd with cryo changes is verry strong. wildcard please take into count that most tribes cant wipe most caves as it stands now. some spots cant even be soaked becase turret setings.

also add a cooldown to turret copyinng or pvp cooldown to it.

Is it possible to enable antimesh for single player? I found a cool cave on the backside of the middle snow mountain while in single player. When I tried going in it on official I got antimeshed. The cave entrance looks like a legit place you can rappel down in real life. In single player it didn't kill me and allows me to build in it, so it's a bit frustrating going to official only to get antimesh killed in what seemed like a legit spot.
