Exactly. There's no cryo. No transfers. Once a tribe gets into a cave with turrets (which happens day 1) then it will be near impossible to get them out and they can freely build up. I hate it. I really do. I wish open bases came back like they used to be. But they simply won't and anyone that tries will be instantly wiped.

Back on the legacy servers I raided 3 caves with tek turrets using a wooden shield I kept repairing. It is not impossible it just takes longer to drain

It took a lot of time. I logged on when I knew they were offline which isn't hard to figure out if you pay attention to who joins or leaves and when. My point is that it is completely doable to raid with the bare minimum. It isn't near impossible to get people out of caves. Pvp will be everywhere especially early game

See you claim this... but people won't simply be aft. And most tribes will have members across time zones. Once you get turrets up, gl. I will wait for any proof otherwise within the first month. Because your premise as well as that kid is that defending isn't going on. You're not shield draining tribes with people across multiple time zones, which most that can control a cave are these days. Valid point as this is why I started playing small tribes. I simply only raid when the tribe is offline. If somebody gets on stop raiding. Through sieging a base nonstop you can see when a tribe has a dead window of player activity. Everyone sleeps and even tribes with multiple time zones don't have players on 100% of the time. Unless it is a main server of a mega tribe with like an alliance tribe or two. Then yeah every time you go to raid someone will show up to stop you

Exactly. Once you have defenses in a cave it's over. You can just throw your time into breeding/raiding/setting up secondary bases

And I wish that wasn't the case. I really really do. But unless they drastically change some things it's gonna still be the case.

I have some methods up my sleeve to get people out of caves, until you get a TP you’re pretty much forced to have an outside base tho

Hmmm not sure I don't think they defined exactly what a choke is. It could be the crouch or a tight tunnel or a narrow path. Alot of caves have different forms of choke points. They did mention they re-did the interior of caves.

That and all asks best exp grinding maps are gone besides island of course, all you really need to do is a note run and craft a bunch of random crap

If you have played official 1x before and went on an exp grind, knowing what to do, the general mechanics of the game aren't being changed so no point really worrying about it, if anything base location's and breeding should be of way bigger concern

You just won't get Extinction and aberration till way later down the line so it'll be a little slower than usual

I don’t think base location should be of massive concern until scorched is out at least, you should try and get a good spot but if not it’s not end all be all. With plant x not being able to be destroyed and poor lines and no cryos you can easily make spots OP with no off timer, especially uw pearls for smaller tribes the best option by far
