Railgun aimbot was absolutely devastating and has been largely detrimental to the game. It's done more harm than any good it could have possible done as a tool against players meshing into your bases. It's good that it's disabled.

Any experienced raiders here? I'd define myself a mediocre pvp player with 2k hours. Been raiding bases a lot, but first time I came across a base I can't raid even when they're offline.

The base is located in Crystal Isles rathole (the one behind big orange crystal next to a big wooden ledge). We got all the turrets soaked/destroyed before entrance, and we can easily stay on the main ledge no problem. The problem is, they have many heavies and tekkies inside the cave high in the ceiling all turrets survivors only AND their tek gen is attached in the ceiling also. I can't soak those turrets with stegos or trikes, because they shoot me right from above. I can get in with Andrewsarchus and not get shot, but the second I hop off the turrets get me instantly. So in short: teks and heavies survivor only way too high in the ceiling with tek gen hidden in ceiling. Any ideas what to do? Been trying the same base for like two days now.

cuz i see these '' solo rathole bases '' videos with like 30 heavy's(ofc also structures..) yeah but how are you going to get all that alone? even if you tried to your probably gonna lose it before you get everything? like to make the base you first need another base? right, so it's kind of hard. this is based on map where you farm, and knowing how to farm, if you get a 3x3 box in gen2 that you can farm all this in under a couple of hours.

Farm everything up using tek suit, your biggest struggle will be poly, but you can quicly tame a moschops and kill some mantis and farm them w/ the moshops leveled in poly

the rest you can farm w/ your hand and exo

and keep in mind you farm more w/ higher melee, but you can also fly around getting drops if the "drop buff quality higher" buff is on and it's a specific lunar biome, so you can break structures instead of farming, as they are super common (Industrial Forge, Tek gen, etc) on drops.

But if you are not gonna have an active tribe, or you are just starting out, these are probably not an option

Pearl hilariously easy to drop if you're poor though (and tuso C4 raiding strategies WILL happen to you)

first thing: almost nothing is hard to raid offline

if it is offline and somebody REALLY wants to drop it, then they will drop it, no questions asked

second thing: i'm a 1x main, not a smalls player

so i can take some guesses, but i'm open for correction by any hardcore smalls players

so operating under the assumption you have a full tribe without account sharing with decent timezone spread (3 na / 3 eu or 2 na / 2 eu / 2 oc) such that you're not getting offlined

you're probably not getting one of the S+++ spots (ice, shadow, lab, etc) for free unless you have some friends in high places - and i'd recommend against rmt because if you're at the point where you don't know what to build, you frankly won't have the experience to hold one of the S+++ spots

so its less what spots aren't easy to drop, and more what spots are open

and then picking the best of the (garbage) that's available

so some basic stuff you wanna look for (assuming the tribe size you were describing):
-if it's a cave and the entrance is bigger than a rex (in water, bigger than a shark), it must be 1x structure damage on the inside
-if it's out in the open, it should at least be hard to 'fortnite' - build up to from land below it. on 1x pillar bases on everything other than gen1 on useless, but on smalls 90/90 plat on gen2 (which is literally a plateau that's just the right size) is considered a really good spot - and it's easily fortniteable. so not fortniteable and the right size = rly rly good
-your turrets should be far enough from the edge (if plateau) or far enough from the entrance (cave) that you can comfortably fit whatever dinos you're planning on defending with + some large bear traps in front of the turrets

-also consider angles people can try to line of sight your turrets to blow up the structures they're on. people will climb walls with stalkers / drakes or suit around or grapple glitch or [...] to find a sneaky spot to pew pew your stuff without being shot at. this adds into the "far enough from edge" thing

Is there any counter for tribes that rocket snipe with wyverns. They seem to be able to get in my base no matter what I do with turrets. It it something that you can defend against or is that the point that all defenses are useless and it's not possible to defend against any more only you have equally good stuff and are online all the time? I had all my turrets set to long range and attack all players and mounted creatures.

We were in a jungle but we lost trees over time an refertilizer wasn't bringing them back so I guess obscurity by trees isn't reliable over a long enough period of time. As far as the rocket sniping I can only build bases in spots with 0 aerial line of sight and turrets just can't do anything if I give the player that line of sight? I'll stagger the priorities next time but I can't tell from the tribe log where any of my 20 turrets ever did anything so I'm trying to figure if that's just something that undefendable against. I've never gotten so far so I don't know if it's just easy to cheese you way through all defenses no matter what once you have wyverns/rockets. I may just focus on wyverns if that's the bare minimum to be able to compete in pvp.

the answer is that you need to be online all the time + have at minimum structures+bullets to replace ones that are broken / soaked and enough stuff to stop them from breaking / soaking too fast
wyverns have nothing to do with your base being blown up by rockets, that's just the result of all your heavies being soaked

No, they only shoot one shot (amount of bullets that will be depends on the turret type) per rocket, but the fact that your turrets were on survivors+tames means that someone could easily soak the base of bullets by tanking the bullets with a tanky dino like a carbo and then shoot rockets at it

and even with proper turret settings, your turrets can still be soaked, it just makes it harder to do so

Golem are only good for soaking heavy turrets, so if you've got tek turrets they'll die pretty quick. Giga, velo, and rockets also works I'd use rockets last, personally. Velo is probably the best option.

Stegos you can net gun the riders off, but for these guys your best option is a bleed dino: thyla, carno, and/or deinonychus. Depending on what situation you're in, picking stegos with a wyvern (NOT crystal wyverns) or a karkinos to move them away from turrets and kill them quickly. A stego in the grasp of a wyvern/karki will not soak bullets until it is released.

Reapers are vulnerable to charge light, so a shoulder pet or throwing plant Z fruit will make it take more damage. Like golems, though, they're only good for soaking heavy turrets. Tek turrets will shred them.

Bleed is the best option around the board for dinos trying to soak your turrets. Velos will also shred them pretty quick if you have imprint and high damage.

There has to be something attaching it to the ground, so add foundations/pillars to the ground that are snapped to your structures. You can use debug structures command to make sure stuff is connected.

A foundation only supports about 2 squares away from it, after that you need more support.

Yes, you have to have foundation support to build over top of things. A single foundation will only support 2 ceilings normal and 1 ceiling diagonal for perspective. If there's nothing to hold it up then you can't place it.
