you have different weapons for different purposes, enemies weak to specific damage types and stronger against others

valheim doesnt really have any insane combos, just a three hit light attack one for most weapons, and most weapons have a secondary special attack, but you can also parry damage with your shield, and of course the game also has a dodge roll

it all comes together quite nicely

I'd disagree Spirit, with a release claiming launch in 2022, a delay into 2023 and nearly no marketing at all under what should be a relatively soon launch date, I'd say they dropped the ball, but then again, unless you are in the studio and know what the real progress report should look like, there's no way to tell, could be smart, could be a massive mistake.

One thing I got to thinking while watching the game awards is how realistic human characters are getting, still in uncanny valley territory, but do we think they'll allow us to create human monstrosities in character creator?

Very probable. I believe it will be Ark I on steroids (more customization). I think we will see tattoos for example.

That meta human plugin that's being utilized industry wide is pretty good, still a long way from a user friendly implementation though. I got it working on my UE5 project and played with it a bit, I imagine the reason we haven't seen any gameplay yet is because they just don't have it done enough to show any. Unreal engine 5 is still relatively new in comparison and still has some pretty hefty issues.
