if by "mobile" you mean diversity in movement then sure make stuff mobile
if by mobile you mean "fast", now we disagree
yeah, diversity in movement
Fast = zoom off cliff and die
I dont mean make every dino run at mach 10, as that wouldnt even make sense in a lot of cases
but regardless of what dino or creature I am on, I should have more to do than just press forward and sprint
I really don't think dinos or players should even have a movement speed option
there will likely be movement speed buffs to some extent in the skill tree
parkour is a major game focus of arkII after all
so I sincerely doubt that there wont be any movement enhancing skills
It's already souls like combat, I don't wanna be trying to dodge a 2 foot jack ass with a spear running at Mach 5 target locking onto me and he's so fast I can't even find him, that's not very primitive 😂
I think it would be cool if there was skill that gave you a passive similar to the hover sail
so like, each time you do a parkour movement that doesnt just bring you to a full stop (mantling) you get a "stack" and for each stack you have the faster you run
so getting movement speed would be a skill based thing instead of "hehe I just run at mach 10 now fuck physics, and fuck you"
conservation of momentum >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> speed buffs
I feel if there will be any way to buff your speed it should exclusively be during those actions. While climbing, jumping, swinging and rolling you should get a small boost to acceleration but you shouldn't be able to run faster than every player and dino in the game by default. At that point why even use the vines and shit when you run faster than everything regardless. If the swinging and climbing is so important and focused then that should be our new way of escaping. Not specing to be a formula 1 car.
parkour should serve to keep your sprint speed over obstacles, and the skill is maintaining max speed
I mean yeah it is
its literally a midget running at you with a spear, doesnt get much more primitive than that
just because you are running faster doesnt mean you are suddenly sitting in the space age
I like that idea better honestly, yeah
I like the idea that parkour can be used to create momentum...it's not a bad idea all things considered
yeah, thats what I was getting at
Im not talking about the skill tree just giving you flat movement buffs... that wouldnt really be a skill
skulk wall jumping in NS2 and blood stalker swinging are good examples of this...I wish enforcer "teleporting" had been that way too
I hope to see grappling that has mechanics similar to bloodstalker swings
Slightly faster isn't the same thing as Arks current movement speed with people running at superhuman speeds. Cavemen did not outrun race cars. So there needs to be an obvious limit to this movement shit.
yes. Cap at 100% 😂
my point still stands
just because you are running faster than the speed of sound does not mean you are not primitive
a guy running at you with a spear is a guy running at you with a spear regardless
A midget running at me with a spear is primitive sure but we can't ignore the fact he is literally OUT RUNNING A CAR
doesnt mean it isnt primitive, he just doesnt skip leg day obviously
unlike you sir flabby thighs mcgee
What part of super human speed is primitive 😭
it's primitive, it's also bad design
^
the part where the speed isnt being artificially increased by say, tek legs
the secret + symbol is pretty magical ngl 😂
lmao
It would still never ever happen, you shouldn't be able to out run most of the creatures in the game, that's what I'm trying to say. Primitive whatever but that's the dumbest shit ever, "here's a raptor it's only good for its high speed" then there's Bob for is literally the flash, that makes fast tames completely obsolete
well yes, that's the "bad design" part
something can be "in theme" and bad design
for example, the tek railgun
cool idea on paper, but given the uh prevalence of meshing and cheating, the railgun was a certified bad design idea that was thematically correct but played not so well
I guess it's technically in theme and primitive but bruh. It would fit it in Ark 2 less than ark 1 and it's already horrendous currently 😂
yep. Theme doesn't protect against bad design lol...
that last bit, the player speed making tames obsolete, is why I want creatures to be more mobile in general
Im not saying the tames need to be breaking the sound barrier, Im just saying it would be horridly inefficient to use any form of tame if they all just had ark levels of just sprinting
meanwhile you as a player can do all this fancy parkour shit and get around the map super easily
Make the monkey tames be able to climb and swing at double efficiency as us perhaps?
yeah, but Im curious what alien tames there will be
mobility, both speed and variety, is one balancing axis
some creatures that lack mobility in either speed, variety, or both can make that up in other ways
since we are on an alien planet and alien fauna is confirmed as well as flora, I dont see us not being able to tame alien creatures at all
Maybe have certain areas unreachable by foot and required something like a Thyla that is designed to scale it so Mach 10 isn't gonna cut it anymore
aliens I can imagine being as diverse as life on our planet is...some can be mobile, others perhaps not
after all, the aratai could tame the dinosaurs, which probably means they have already tamed aliens and the process is likely rather similar
how about just hard block people from adding points to movement speed, like we did with fliers
That's what I said before
yea, so let's do that
just hard block adding points in general
I really hate movement speed levels
I feel like the entire point is the dinosaurs, why have the ability to make ourselves stronger than them, then there's no point of taming anyway, obviously we need progession and crafting but there should never be a point in the game where a human is physically stronger than a Rex
looks at capped flak
tbh I hope arkII doesnt have weight (because honestly weight in ark sucks ass, since you can only use like 70% of it)
and instead has a system similar to minecraft or like resident evil, where the amount you can carry depends entirely on how much inventory space you have
because the entire point isnt even dinosaurs, and hasnt been since arks first dlc
Kinda lame
meh
you can only do so much being hyper realistic
and obviously wildcard made the right decision with the games direction, since arks popularity has only gone up since dlc was added
It doesn't need to be hyper realistic to understand that a human being cant punch a giga a single time and have it die instantly
I dont think thats physically possible on official servers regardless of how good your gear is
and before you start whining about unofficial
unofficial is unofficial, people have the right to make their server experience different according to how they want to play the game
The point I'm making is our survivor shouldn't be able to do some of these crazy things the dinos do. Also I agree with the inventory slot idea, since when does a human regularly carry around 2000 pounds of raw meat 😂
And it makes the possibility for satchels, bag, carts, and saddle attachments possible
I want a trench coat with a million pockets wildcard
weight > item slot limits for many reasons
Get a nice Trike that's designed to transport resources because its saddle is covered in pouches
the issue I have is that weight lies to you in ark. It's not 1000 weight, it's 750 weight...so the larger the weight, the more weight is "dead" and can't be used
same
the weight system itself is fantastic for balance though. Imagine the irritation at being able to carry 10000 berries because of the stack limit that has to be set low to make sure people don't farm too much metal
we just need a UI marker to tell us when encumbrance starts, and it shouldn't really start until 100%, at which point you get say 10% "overweight" before you're motionless
I'd rather weight be done similar to conan, where if you are encumbered you dont ever really become motionless, but you do get significantly slowed down and cant jump or climb
There needs to be a cap or people will be able to carry anything
But the slow scaling encumbrance in ark 1 where your speed slowly drops but you can jump is pure pain
yeah but it wouldnt really be practical to carry everything in a game balanced around the player being extremely mobile, so I dont think it would be that much of a balance issue honestly
it will be significantly more dangerous to be encumbered in arkII with dino ai being smarter too so there's that
I’m imagining scenarios where someone can sneak out of a base with the contents of every vault
so maybe being encumbered makes it much more likely even smaller dinos would want to attack you
Which I guess with tek legs is already possible lmao
yes
but they are encumbered and moving at two inches a second
You don’t need to move fast if you only need to move once
if you get sleighted by that then you deserve what was coming honestly
Doesn't matter if you're barely moving when the whole tribe is offline and can carry their whole damn base with you😂
what
I think motionless should be a final stage to encumbrance that reminds the player “put something away”. Otherwise you’re rewarding whatever psychos can get away with being slow lol
though really if someone went in and yoinked all your shit, then they've already beaten you like a red headed step child, or you are just super inattentive and them not being able to move wont save you anyway
I mean if the whole tribe is offline
all your shit is gone regardless of encumberance
so again, you deserve what was coming to you
what happened now
Again, how is it your fault if they do it while you're offline
nothing, just talk
And that doesn't change the fact you can carry whatever the hell you want
because you left your base exposed
So now everyone has to build in a cave or else it's your fault if you die
Seems pretty miserable
and if you are offline, even if they have to make multiple trips, your stuff is gone regardless and the mechanic isnt saving your stuff anyway
its just an inconvenience that serves no purpose when you really look at it
Even outside of raiding. You shouldn't be able to carry enough metal to build new York city in your fuckin pocket 😭
But it does serve a purpose, it caps what you can carry
doesnt everyone literally build in a cave in pvp anyway?
and thats just a needless annoyance
if your whole tribe is offline, that carry cap aint stopping them from taking all your stuff
if you got your ass handed to you in a raid, then that cap aint stopping them from taking your shit either
Not everyone would want to, and what if all caves are occupied, then you have choice
either way you've done got got
Bruh how is a cap a needless annoyance lol, it’s a cap
It’s like me making a vault and saying “bro not having infinite slots is a needless annoyance”
Also another thing, fuck off with the turrets, I mean what is primitive about a skyscraper covered in mini guns 💀
oh hey I just gone done farming a ton of metal
time to play hot potato with it to get it to my forge because I cant just carry it there
because "mechanics"
I’d prefer an S+ transfer tool style system to furnaces and production buildings
So you want everyone to be able to carry enough metal to build a revamped great wall of China in one run? Where's the grind? Wheres the risk? The draw back? The fun?
It eases the weight burden in your base but not in the environment
same, and all the same raid arguments I've made before apply to that system as well for those who are against it
Make a wooden sleigh designed transport that shit, fuck it a wooden seige machine designed to transport the spoils of a raid back home but not have a monopoly of Metal in your back pocket for safe keeping
you built like a monopoly of metal
Shoulder pet that will transfer items from one inventory to another
Imo the amount that can be carried needs a hard nerf lol
On God
Why?
to be fair, final statements like that really shouldnt be said until we get more information on the game
modular crafting is going to be a thing after all, which very likely means we have much more we will need to farm in order to make optimal tools and whatnot for what we are wanting to accomplish
though hopefully with the parkour systems coming, farming wont feel so single minded and tedious
I hope wildcard fix all shit happened in ark 1 😂 even the sport
Get to resource and collect will always be tedious and boring, doesn't matter how it's done. Might be less boring at first with new systems but when you're used to it you'll feel the same.
yeah, but at least it will be less monotonous with the new movement options, and will probably be faster too
Not the movement shit again 💀😭
It's really divided into two groups, people who like zoom zoom and get stuff done in one run spending only a day on the project. And people like me that enjoy how long it takes to make things in the game because to me it's far more rewarding and satisfying. To me finishing a large base in 20 minutes is kinda boring. I like to take in all stages of the game and watch my base evolve over a long period of time. Either way we can ALL agree that the game won't tailor to everyone but atleast it will be Ark. That's all that matters at the end of the day. If its Ark, we will play it. 🤷🏽♂️
It doesn't take very long to do things when you get set up at all
Especially if you have an ab and gen 2
I know it doesn't, that's why I don't understand the point of going faster? It already isn't bad at all. You don't need to speed it up if already isn't taking you a lifetime
People on here like to cry about having to spend more than 30 minutes doing something
Like bro it's a survival game not an rpg or fps
Yeah I don't understand that, where's the fun in speeding your way to metal gear when you can enjoy the early stages, widely renowned to be the best part of the game. It's also a new game, I think the new custom gear is way cooler than anything tek related ever, lemme experiment with stuff until I find the perfect crating recipe for a solid spear lmao
Carrying things in ark1 is way too easy. So yeah I am going to say definitively that it should be a lot harder to move loads of stuff around in ark2
The metal-polymer-electronics era is the best
What do you want there to be a button prompt to balance some metal above your head while carrying it?
I want fliers to not be able to carry so much, and I want tek suits or equivalents to not be a thing
On God, to me once you reach Tek and fabricated weapons, PERSONALLY. I think the long neck should be the peak of technology in Ark
In all seriousness though moving things around easily is a qol feature and not having it would be aids asf
Imo slot cap storage movement should be replaced with a weight cap
Things better be fuckin cheaper then
Yeah, so adding more automation features to bases would be good
They have to also add gold ores and make it a rare substance equivalent to element just so reaching the fabricator stage would take long time
Spending 12k metal on one rex saddle and only having 700 weight would be aids
Having electronics be more than a random metal plus pearls would be nice lol
They have to revamp the whole system
I completely agree, anything more modern like fabricated weapons should be a challenge to achieve
I am hoping bps aren't a thing, so the massive farming won't be as necessary
Tek Stryder ruined it
Making a base is still expensive
They had different animals for each resource but the stryder is literally used for everything
In conculsion gen 2 ruined ark
Bases should cost probably the same. Gear should cost less. Imo
Power creeping 101
And should be not as op as a capped flak 🤣
Takes millions of metal to craft enough structures to have for defense alone
And they have to up defenses tbh
Not with turrets tho maybe you could make your tames as a defense mode
Assuming they keep the same defense type
I am hoping for plants honestly
You need structures to push and replace others
Tames should have a defense mode for defending your base while your not online
The most we should go for "turrets" is cannons which should never be automatic and need to be manually operated
Gates so people can't just run your shit, spam so they can't push turrets
That is one thing I hope dissapears lol
I don't like that mechanic in ark
Ye defense is gonna be a big problem since turrets most likely won’t be in the game
We call that aggressive sir
tbh it would be weird if they did
the crafting system is modular right? so its not like imma be incentivised to crafting this boring metal stick that has some bonus damage when I can instead slap some obsidian on this branch over here and get some bleed damage instead
I don’t mean that you can just lure the tames out the defense mode makes the animal not go to far
And can’t be lured out
Yeah, I mean it seems the logical thing to assume that bps will be gone. But it's too soon to tell
Snipers will most likely not be in ark two
This guy
It's very true, in terms of primitive there aren't many replacements for turrets, maybe pungi sticks or other traps? I have no idea
It’s fully primitive
I actually agree that snipers will probably not be a thing on drop
Anime PFP people have a collective IQ of 1
Longneck as @silver grove might be the highest advancement in ark 2
Long necks might not even be a thing
💀tf you on my guy
"tame sniping" is a term for shooting someone's tame until it dies
chances are bps would probably be replaced by something similar to weapon mods in horizon zero dawn, where you can up the stats of an already crafted weapon instead of crafting a predetermined metal stick
Guns might not even be in ark 2
That's the thing. Shooting things might not be a thing that works
probably shouldnt exist for armor though
I am betting that will be the direction they take
Bows?
ever heard of bows?
Why are some people allowed to talk
Bows take a really long time
And most likely the highest tier of arrows is stone arrow
bruh this is arkII with completely different systems
There really is no telling what the meta for raiding will be lol.
I hope there are long necks but I mean I'm honestly completely fine with custom bows and crossbows, maybe instead of better weapons we make better projectiles???? Wood - stone - copper - gold - metal - crystal - obsidian Arrows and Bolts??
We know that it’s fully primitive so no op shi is in the game
There will be op stuff even in primative lol
Actual fucking money brain
chances are if bows do exist, they'll dominate the meta
or at the very least be hard to balance
They gotta add emeralds andesite etc
I bet he's the kinda person to go "Tek is op it ruined the game" and only plays PvE
The first bow probably will be in the game idk about crossbow and compound is def not in the game
lol
I am betting they'll be most effective for offline raids, because I think more close ranged options will take the meta
Tek stryder ruined the game
primitive crossbows exist
You can’t tell me that stryder didn’t ruin the game
I say that, and 80% of my time is pvp official lol
cant kill someone with a bow if you cant get to them is all Im saying
You don’t even need other tames you need just one stryder
I haven’t played pve servers once
Very true but I mean honestly we don't need better weapons, just make more high end resources and ores to be the new progression for damage. With the ability to customize your bow or crossbow to either deal more damage, or simply pierce the skin to apply an increased torpor shot
this is doubly true if you can shoot arrows that cause status ailments
maybe dipping them in poison, or using fragmented bones to cause bleed, etc
I am really hoping knocking things out isn't as op lol
Maybe they add like a upgrade progression of each weapons and it causes to go up in rarity instead of bps
It should be harder to do, and be more expensive
Yes I can, all it did was make it easier to farm, making it easier to get set up as smaller tribes and less tedious to collect resources.
It made 20+ tames useless
Yeah well that's where you belong lmao
Dip some arrows in leech blood, maybe it does high damage over time or even causes a disease that slows and disorients, maybe even weakens the enemy
Stryders didn't ruin the game. It only gave a marginal boost to what was already in the game
Let's not make it personal
The amount of materials it collects is outrageous
Literally only replaced farming dinos, mainly magma and anky, that's about all.
You could reach tek stage in a day with a Strdyer
tbh I'd like it if weapon progression was based off how much you used it
so like, say weapons get xp of some sort, so the longer you stick with that weapon the stronger it gets over time and possibly lets you upgrade differents part of it in exchange for the xp gathered
It gathers 100x more than a magmasaur
I did that without stryders
You main slightly more and just does it faster without a need for breaks?
same
What did you use
Experience
It gathers hella ton of pearls as well
pump shotty all the way
Imagine farming pearls lmao
^
Gen1 broke the farming meta more than stryders did
What kind of Dinos Y'all want to make a return or maybe ideas for a new addition?
I haven’t played gen 1 at all
Well, iguanadon need to return
I have only played abberation fjordur gen 2 lost island
What a bob jesus
Farming alpha hunt missions and then buying slot caps of electronics every day or so was a huge thing lol
I only have 300 hours of playtime I started back in July
I've played all the story maps and most dlcs besides the last 2 or 3
I want rockdrakes to come back
but be more updated to arkIIs standards
maybe an alien creature that has a similar moveset and niche to the rockdrake as a gliding high speed stealth scouting/assassinating creature?
You mean just running don't fear the reaper king on gamma and killing the minions on the way there?
Abberation is a pain to be in
I want rockdrakes to be smaller and not clunky
yesss, smaller
Skill issue? Just use a stalker or mana
All my friends want rock drakes, im personally not a huge fan but I think it could come back eventually
I’m talking about meshes
Why do PvE mf's love drakes
and faster too, because they obviously arent fast enough despite being like the top 5 fastest ark creatures
drakes are love
drakes are life
It shouldn’t came back
Wyverns has to come back forsho
ew no
I actually don't play pvp much at all but the only fliers I like is the Argent and Griffin.
not without some big changes
Their only use is against tos lol
I haven’t experienced any sort of pve servers
People who like rockdrakes usually like them because of nostalgia from aberration. As long as the environment and dinos match well enough, I think most people won't really care
rockdrakes are just very satsifying to glide around on
I hope not
I adore dashing towards walls and swooping on my drake
I just want the lighting back
Wyverns were over done, and over used
Stalkers are better and can actually kill people and drop structures
I like pve but that's only because my friends don't like pvp, I wouldn't be against playing it in ark 2 tho. I was great at elden ring pvp why not try it in Ark Souls
They weren't on the genesis ship either, so I don't expect we will see them
Everything else just needs a buff to get to shadowmane level imo
Except fliers. They just need a huge nerf
The grabbing ability needs to get nerfed
Or just remove shadows
Ye that’s a option
I'd like more bird like fliers, Argent is still my favorite
Desmoudus needs a slight nerf in agility
Weight more than anything. It needs a heavy reduction
wyverns need two changes to fit in arkII
first being a breath rework, so they only fire either a single shot or maybe volleys of shots, but no constantly ticking beams or flames... otherwise there's no counter play because dodging is irrelevant
second they need to be smaller and more fragile, and especially exposed at the wings... wyverns need to either be glass cannons or not exist at all
It’s way to agile
All flyers should have pternadon type weight stats
Wyverns are almost guaranteed not to make it into the game
Or just not in the game considering the information I've read they would be best off removed
Desmodus? The most agile flier in ark except for Astros?
I haven’t used astros
I doubt it, like rockdrakes they are just too popular to not make a comeback in some form
More like asstros
Honestly, I would love to see all fliers in ark2 be as agile as the desmodus, but with significantly less weight capacity
I'd love to see some alien wyvern type creatures
Weapon saddle should def not be in the game
Yea
They probably will when there is inevitably a futuristic dlc but not any where near the launch of the game.
What do you mean by this?
Tek saddles for example
probably tek saddles
Yeah I'm sure they're not. Do you know what devs you're talking about?
I'm going to ban the word Tek bruh 💀
Tek saddles won't be a thing. But a catapult bronto saddle would be epic
And transferring stuff through servers shouldn’t exist
wildcard is wildcard
aint no telling what they'll do sometimes
Character is fine but not items
Nothing useful usually
just like there aint no telling when wildcard will actually release something
I disagree lol. Transferring chars and items is vital for the longevity of the game
Caves need to be 10x harder than before
Characters are fine items and tame idk about that
Yeah you play PvE
I don’t dawg
Cap
caves shouldnt exist outside of building purposes tbh
Ong
Fr
True, baryonx solos caves to be fair
I want events that encourage large scale map-wide clashes
would be epic as fuck
Megatheriums go crazy
The overall balance of dinos/speed of mobility of an army or fob needs a huge nerf, but transferring has to be a thing
Also true
They have to add a pvx type system
The more you speak the more PvE you are
Am not pve deadass
You don't gotta lie to kick it
Why tf would I lie
That basically means megas being a thing lol. Those things do happen already in ark, but only for megas
I think dino mobility should be buffed honestly
or at the very least, diverisified across the board to match the increase in the players capability for movement
they will be a thing anyway honestly
What's wrong with a Megatherium, they are good...? Maybe not against a metal wall or a human but for most other things it's pretty good
Defense is the biggest issue since it’s primitive
Sure, individual Dino mobility should be buffed, army mobility should be nerfed
You don't need to be in a mega to have 20 people in ur tribe fighting
Most people would call 20 people a mega
Those people are wrong
Thylacoleo best tame.
it will be by default unless they add cryopods back
Semantics
It's only everyone's favorite when it is the meta
Primitive cryopods, I present...! THE NET
trying to lead a dino army across the map when you can climb freely and parkour when they cant will feel terrible regardless of how fast they move and whatnot
I honestly can't wait for that lol
They have to add space travels tbh
Actually feeling some value for travel would be epic
And it’s been confirmed cryos are not comin back
My favorite soaker is a 1k hp bbm running in with 1400 dura flak with beer
*Mostly primitive
^
Same shi
not really
Has it? I haven't seen a full confirmation of that yet
we are on a crashed spaceship after all
Going back into the spaceship and going to diff worlds
Shi maybe even space fights between tribes
I am expecting primative similar to hdz
or more specifically, a crashed still functioning ring that has the ability to maintain its own ecosystem
As if it's still functional 😭
Definitely not on drop
^
You gon fix it all from the scratch
HUH?
If you want space fights there are other games for that lol
I doubt that will happen, we crashed with the ring
the lifeboat was sent to the moon and blown up
New boss fight, BUILD death star
Ark doesn't have to do everything
Take the gatekeeping somewhere else, bud
Go play space engineers
Space invaders dlc???
They gotta have disasters like a meteor or sum shi crashes down half the map and your base gets annilated
Or overpowered dinos pull up for a limited time
Well, considering that everything they've said has been some PvE ass shit. I'd say I'm just stating the obvious.
Pvp in ark 2 spears will def be meta
Ark in actual space with spaceships and everything, would actually not really fit with the game that much.
Extinction wasteland base v2
Not necessarily. It's impossible to pin a meta this early
Ye I’m just being Saracastic
Wtf was that autocorrect
Idk
I would love to see bonuses to certain weapon classes against specific Dino types
I hope bloodstackers do not come back into the game
Throw a spear in both eyes, insta kill
Spears working better against larger dinos, and maces against armored ones would be cool
Armored??
Bros never seen a shell
Anky, trike, etc
Ankylo,, doedic, stego?
Maybe the mantis armor, scorpion shell
Like you could have a Greek god typa body and shi and have extra stats
let us throw pikes in ark 2
??
Ong
Pikes are far heavy and the center of balance wouldn't work for throwing but fuck it lmaoao
We gotta agree for one creature to not come back in ark 2
Giga? I agree to that
Hmmm
They got a lot of counters
Gigas should not come back
That's not the point
Why not giga?
It’s inevitable a creature like giga will probably come back
And ofc rex will be in ark 2
They are both the face of Dinos
Spino should still be the largest
Rex should be the peak of damage per bite
Realistically they are the biggest but not in ark
What’s the point of gigas then
A tank?
Not having them is the point
But that would be cool, if gigas and spinos swapped sizes in game
Spinos would be terrifying
Gigas offer nothing to the game imo
They throw hands
Facts
Piranha better not come back hate those little mfs
Honestly I hardly ever used gigas even when I had an army of them. I loved the therizeno and Megatherium
In pvp giga is a must
Not pve tho
Only because gigas exist
Get rid of them and then rexes are a must
I've only been on one pvp server so I dunno what that world is like
Gigas are Meta because of their hitbox
They won’t be a must their attack hitbox is no where near a giga
Although with boosted servers with fixed wipe days, spinos are actually more meta than gigas
the seagull mfs that steal ur lvl 380 mana
A giga Can still hit the guy even if their behind him while recs can’t
Gigas are only good because of a really dumb hit box, high base hp, and insane damage
I saw a vid of a seagull stealing 89 exceptional kibble
The hitbox is the main reason
That won't be a thing in ark2 though
Removing it might be a big balance
If gigas still exist it will probably still be
Tbh they should add more rarity’s to animal other than just alpha
Like beta gamma alpha for carno creatures
I doubt it. They are completely redoing Dino vs Dino combat too
And the alphas are actually hard to kill unlike in ark 1 alphas are a joke
Maybe the giga won't and it will be replaced by the carch since again realistically it was the same size if not very slightly bigger
Why. That makes no sense lol
Because currently the alphas are a joke
All pve combat is currently a joke
Alpha creatures need to get buffed buffed
A imprinted raptor can take on a max level alpha carno
Alpha dinos make no sense imo. The pve combat just needs to be harder by a huge proportion
Really? I always thought alphas were super strong but then again I've never hunted them down, they sound easy
Ye that’s why adding lower rank dinos would be a fix whilst going against a alpha would be way way harder
You can literally kill it with a rifle or a crossbow
They are straight jokes
That doesn't seem like a fix to me. It just seems like primal fear
I wouldn't know, I only ever killed a level 5 alpha raptor, I just avoided alphas whenever i saw them
They have to find a way to fix tbh but buffing tf outta alphas could be a fix
I don't see that as fixing anything lol
The only time alphas are a problem is during beach era
After you pass that phase alphas ain’t shit
Well that's good to know
Why do alphas need to be a thing?
After like 4 years of playing 😭
Because of pve
I preferred how ext and genesis did it
And levels and items
It was much better than random weirdly high stat dinos in the wild
Having just one version of a creature is boring
But you can’t really see if that creature is really strong tho alphas have a indication
I prefer alphas because they gave high level items potentially which looked fun but maybe there's a better way like new missions
Having a lot of arbitrary versions just makes it primal fear. It's fun once. Then the rng gets old fast
How tf can ptera beat a alpha rex
Genesis did missions, and honestly the loot from alphas is kind of worthless
I think normal dinos and the occasion alphas works fine
I understand desmo but a bird?
It flies. Easy
Gen 2 mission loots are wild
They have really low stamina
I did like the extinction missions but the whole tek thing ruined it for me
I much preferred mission type things to random alphas
What’s the point of loot drops in cave when gen 2 gives you everything for loot
And?
If you notice there were no caves on genesis. So the devs came to the same conclusions lol
Why do they have to?
If they go on the ground the alpha rex will shread tf outta it
Any flier is intrinsically more overpowered than a land Dino excluding gigas because of the aoe
Do one gen 2 mission especially the shadowmanes you’ll be filled with ascendant items
For example the ability to fly above any dino and kill it while being slightly out of its reach
Yes, I would still much rather see things like that than wild alphas
Wild alphas only give hatches picks bows and sometimes armor
They don’t really give much
How do they not make sense?
Alphas do not exist in irl animal society
😭
You acting like tek walls weapons exist in irl
This game is not realistic
They serve a purpose in ark only for a terrible rng prep for boss fights
They do a great job at that
Bro I farmed an alpha ab from scratch in 5 hours last night it's not hard to find em'
No, not really. The only map they did okay at it was on fjordur
The start of fjordur was chaos
But it's kinda tedious to kill like 10 of each alpha for a boss fight, there's grind and then there's dumb
Two alpha next to every spawn
Yeah I know, i have done that too. Availability of it isn't the issue I have with it.
You mean 1?
Bosses are ez af to farm
I don't actually know how many it is I'm just saying
It's one
Who cares Abt fjordur garbage
How tf is fjordur garbage
Shit caves
From a map design standpoint, fjordur is probably the best progression design for a map since ab
The island, center and rag are the only ones i like tbh 😭
Which caves you talkin about articfact or base building caves?
All of them
Abberation is straight beautiful
They aren’t shit wym
I mean, for pvp labyrinth cave on fjordur is probably the most op cave in the game lol
Bruh
Which cave is that
I was thinking more the progression of it, not the esthetic
I'm talking to bobs
@prisma pike your so fucking annoying dawg
Lab is so easy to wipe with stalkers
The bat cave thing that's flat? I saw that in a video. Look desolate as fuck for easy building
If you haven't played labyrinth cave, I am thinking you are a Bob lol
I don’t memorize the names
I searched up Ik the cave
What’s that one meta base In gen 2 called
It's a labyrinth, that's why it's called that
It’s underwater
It's not meta
Out in the open under a log is meta.
I don’t remember the name
Yes it is meta
The uw cube?
Either way, we are getting distracted from the channel topic. Let's bet back to ark2
True
Ong, I got school in an hour, ark 2 time 😭
They have npcs in the game to
I am really hoping caves aren't viable for large bases in ark2. I am thinking of like an oxygen cap or something
Like npc tribes and Elden ring like combat
How tf will Elden ring like combat work in ark
I would assume the same basic way it works in any souls game
No clue how they will handle it but I'm all for it
Dawg we have spears swords and maybe guns in the game
Elden ring combat would literally not function
We have the old old swords
There's bows in elden ring combat and they work so why wouldn't a gun
And the movement needed for Elden ring combat needs a dodge mechanic too
Just have a longish draw time for firing
Like a dash mechanic
It would be fine, you could parry with a stick if you want
They should add clashes but it’s pointless in a 2v1
Just to point out. Nowhere does anything official say elden ring like combat. Just generic souls like. It will be different
Elden ring darks souls has literally the same combat mechanic
And those devs are not making the ark combat. So it'll be different
Souls "Like" not a copy
I would expect similar types of things, but don't expect a copy of any souls combat style
Relative to souls combat
I swear to God if combat takes 4 hours because of people dodge canceling out of attacks with iframes
Seeing mfs clash would be so funny
It really isn't
I'm sure their own rendition will be fine
Slide canceling and stuff
Ark but with iframes 😭💀
They should add combos like a dodge cancel then punish with a combo
It's... crashed. Did you even watch the Gen 2 cutscene?
It would make being actually good at the game that much more important lol, rather than just getting the drop on someone
Like platform games
You can make one
I frames don't take skill positioning does
Bro if they have iframes the amount of death threats that will be said after a fight is unholy 😭
Ever played monster hunter and you'll know what I mean
Istg if the combat is like platform games
Why would it be like platform games?
This game isn't gonna be the same idk if I'll wanna play it
And I'd say you're gatekeeping, even if they're saying some very dumb things. So 🤷♂️
Souls like= a dodge mechanic will be added
That is already confirmed
It’s a sequel dawg
WYM
How am I gatekeeping I'm just telling them what community they would fit into best
The gameplay is completely different
Ofc?
Completely better perhaps?
Maybe.
Their is no way their adding a dodge mechanic
They did say that ark2 is becoming what they wanted for ark1
It's in the notes
The biggest appeal of ark one was that you could tame and ride dinosaurs
That will be in ark2
The same shi is in ark 2
Rip pvp
No way fr?
Ye Fr
The fundamental elements of ark2 are going to be the same
🤯
For the most part it seems
Just with new stuff 😎
Who cares about fundamentals, games are ruined all the time with updates but they're "fundamentally the same"
I just hope it doesn't remain primitive for the entire game
I am hoping the pvp is significantly different, because right now it is just boring to go back to lol
😂😂
Tek is gone
💀💀
What do you play on? Dedis? Steam?
Highest stage is beginning of fabricator
Not tek just like metal armor and basic guns
You get that is a logical fallacy right?
Adios Tek, you will not be missed
Guns are uncertain but metal ye forsho
That is completely fine by me
Fuck tek
Long neck should be the peak of "tek" if it even gets that far.
Tek will be around, but it probably won't be a good useful thing lol
Only tek thing I liked was cryos because of lag but I'm assuming that won't be as bad as a problem with the new game
Hoverboards
Broken tek
Arkway Surfers
The halo ring thing crashed onto the planet
You realize idc right? I'm just stating what's true. Games like for honor used to be good and then the core combat update happened and ruined the game turning it into a spamfest. But it's fundamentally the same.
Lore wise tek is inherently bad, and it seems like they are actually taking the game play that direction
For honor got ruined
Yep
Tek was supposed to be added since the beginning
It wasn’t a just a random idea by wildcard
For honor was cool until I had no idea wtf what was happening and I died in 3 seconds
Tek was good on extinction
I don't see what that has to do with what I said lol
Uh, actually I would say ext is the only map that explored tek being bad lol
It showed its true self
Like why tf they added mechs
Nah I'm talking about gameplay
Being ass
And their cheap asf
Tek being bad was because of element
thatch>tek
...
Wood > everything
If element was almost impossible to get then tek wouldn’t be as bad
Lore wise yes. Game play wise that was never actually demonstrated
And why is Tek bad in the first place?
I had alot of fun on this game last year
It outshines everything except in terms of walls
You can fly= inf weight
Yeah cause it's the highest tier of progression
You can see through walls
It ruins the main part of the game
To me tek is bad because it's a dinosaur game, not star trek
How so?
Tek looks like something from halo
The game is about mainly dinosaurs not having halo type armor
Imo tek game play being good or bad in ark 1 is entirely irrelevant, seeing as it won't be in ark2
Ark is literally halo currently
The game is clearly about being in space on a futuristic space station too
The inspiration from halo became pretty during gen 2
The game has more than one thing going for it
Dead and not getting updates? Atleast ark is getting a second game halo got nothing
That's true but really the only time we talk about that aspect is for boss fights or lore. The rest of the time is spent talking to thatch and dinosaurs
Halo got like 6 games lol
True halo dead asf
Majority where a let down
Halo 3 should have won goty
They have 8 I think
Halo infinite is the best halo
Bob
Either way, ark2 won't have tek.
You a bob in halo
Mad cause bad
Halo 1-Reach was great but after that meh
Ok?
I'd say majority were good, the past 3 have been mid.
Halo 3 is easily the best
True
Halo Reach takes it for me.
Goty worthy
Halo wars 2 is the best tbh
I thought all halos were pretty much the same. Just a generic shooter lol
Did it not win goty that year I thought it did
Have u even played it
Yeah
Let me check rq
It's nothing special
Nah that's cod halo is completely different, armor abilities, laser weapons, more vehicles
The best choice in history
Nope it didn’t
You said it is completely different, then proceeded to state things right out of warzone lol
Cod is hella diff
It’s either really good or really trash for cod no inbetween
Vanguard was ass
Warzone has laser weapons and alien tanks?
???
They are both kind of generic, the only redeeming quality of either is a following
The weapons are pretty unique
Generic??
Yoy just don’t fw shooter games
Esthetics kind of mean nothing to me in a game really
Halo is generic AF lmao
Halo was the first big 3rd shooter game tho
As a massive halo and cod fan, they are both pretty generic.
Nah bro
Cod is not generic
Yeah, and I don't have any nostalgia for it. So I am judging it on its own qualities. Which imo are lacking lol
Cod is the definition of generic lol
Maybe because of times changing and theirs been so many shooters now
The new cods have been ass lately but their not generic at all
Omg bro a shooter game with aliens vs humans and laser guns and the people have shields and are super soldiers
Yup, and they are all basically the same
All shooter games have shooters that shoot. Now that's generic 😭
Fortnite better
Every survival game has survivals who build
But they don't all have dinosaurs
They are good for when you only have 45 min to an hour to play. If you have more time, there are way more enjoyable games
Yeah but some shooters have qualities that set them apart, take lemnis gate for example.
Have y’all played ark mobile
If you took away the dinosaurs in ark its just rust pretty much
When it came out for like 40 minutes lol
True
0.5 fps
I played for a min it’s straight pay to win
Some are different but if we're being honest, nothing changes between halo and cod games besides the time period.
How so
Tf are you on an iphone
And one fucking map?
Nah ark is laggy in general I'd assume on mobile it's terrible
Not rlly
We about to have an argument about Ark Mobile 💀
It doesn’t Lage in mobile
ark mobile isnt handled by wildcard
hence there not being a role for it here
Who’s handling it then
Some other company
^
Probably because the graphics look like fucking play dough
😂
ark mobile is basically an entirely different game
Just like on switch lol
Dawg it’s mobile don’t expect top tier graphics
Potato graphics
I wouldn't
That's why I don't play mobile
Mobile games shouldn't try to like ark, fortnite and cod. It's just no happening on that lil ass phone
I dont play mobile because mobile sucks
They did decent with cod
You can play any Xbox game on mobile with ur controller lol
Player models look like battlefield 4
With those potato graphics?
Any steam game too lol
Bf4 goated unlike the new one
Its always fun to see channels get derailed to prove your points
Most fortnite mobile players are gone pretty sure
I liked battlefield 5
No with the xboxs graphics because ur streaming the screen
I liked 1 and 4
2042 was horrendous
The game still doesn’t receive any updates?
Horrendous horrendous they averaging 500 players a day
Went from Ark 2 to fortnite and battlefield 2042 lmaoaoa
Tf was ea thinking
You can't even download it anymore on ios and they are still on ch2 s3 literally 9 seasons behind I think
With bf2042 cod killer looking headass
Who won the lawsuit
Apple
I have clips of me playing the beta where the sky turns into a solar eclipse and blinds me
Oh shit rip fortnite mobile
That happens in betas lol
Dawg people where meshing in the full game release
Still on android tho
Ye true
It still happens in the full game
Stopped updating bf2 for that garbage ass game
fucknut
no wait forknife
I remember when I played I couldn't reload my fucking gun all game 😂
The thing is some people load faster than others they go on the jet go to enemy spawn and demolish everyone
It's on life support
Like wtf
It’s averaging 50 players a day you can’t even go to a full match
I played some bf4 it’s full of servers
They made a massive update to patch everything that went wrong but people still don't give a shit and abandoned the game
Bro wtf
Lmao
Bf4 and 1 are Alice
Pretty sure Mcc got more players than halo infinite
Alive
Halo infinite isn’t dead
It's gonna be if they don't change shit
honestly a new dev team needs to be put behind halo
That’s being generous
343 is bad
343 is mid at best
there hasn't been a single good halo game since reach
Spittin
Reach was better than halo 2 and 3
Facts
Sorry not sorry
I mean, if they quit halo entirely thst would be good. At this point them and cod are just milking people's nostalgia for games they played as kids lol
reach is my favorite halo
Cod is actually changing
Eh all of them are good reach certainly aged better tho
Not for the better lol
It is
Noble team was so fucking good
reach is one of the few times I've legitemately cried playing a video game
They removed pay to win system
That’s big up for a change
Zombies was decent and so was campaign for Cold War
Vanguard… was horrendous
zombies is all I liked from cod ngl
I don't play campaign games
Ok
They are pretty dull with 0 to no replayability
Bro when Carter crashed the pelican, Emile stabbed, Kat sniped, George's sacrifice, Noble Six dying heroicly at the end. And June the only survivor 😭😭😭
true
Ye their a single time experience
I was trying to force myself to enjoy infinite
I couldn’t bring it to myself
objective: survive
It was so hyped up
Just for Microsoft to drop another sorry game of halo while ps mfs are getting goty worthy games
Infinite campaign was cool but the ranked multi-player was so ass
Multiplayer was so bad
Wait for a few years Xbox will drop banger exclusives since they got activison and other big company’s y’all not ready
I played ranked and Jesus christ, if you missed a single headshot you were fucked
I want more fancy over the top melee combat in games, with giant enemies
The ttk was so stupid
fuck realism, and fuck guns, both are overrated to the max and so last decade
You need to clear a whole magazine to kill one Mf
An fps game that takes more than just hand eye coordination and isn't a generic battleroyale is the only type that is any good
Mgr?
Only game with a long ttk that I love is Apex
Like one bullet missed in infinite your dead
I haven't played apex long enough to be good at it
Titanfall 2?
You brought a memory into my head
Haven't played that one
How
Titans all 2 was so good still got the game
Apex was fun and easy to me. After a week I went crazy
I got that game in release
wall running in titanfall is fun
You were asking me?
Destroying mechs where do fun
Infinite Warfare best cod
meh
Say that shit again
Yeah how haven't you played Titanfall lol
😂😂😂
Best cod is like saying best stale bread imi
Titanfall 2>apex
Nah the infinite warfare campaign was fire.
Ong but the rest was literally bo3 especially multiplayer
Not having infinite budget, that would probably do it
mans speaking out his ass because he full of shit
But the best cod is BO1
Bruh it's like $20 nowadays
I liked zombies in black ops 2
thats basically it for cod
Yeah, that's $20 more than I feel like spending on it
The Olympus Mons was cool as fuck to see.
Bo3 had better zombies?
meh
This mf when ark 2 comes out and is $60
I liked it cuz it had big ships
Ark2 is something I want to play. Titan fall is not
It was not a standard cod game which made me like it.
arkII is releasing in early access
no way in hell its full priced
It's wc
Dawg it’s in gamepass
I'd buy ark2 for 100 no cap.
Instantly as soon as it releases
Same every dlc in ark2 I’ll play
Who tf don’t have gamepass
Ark 2 gonna be the only thing I play.
Yes the company that regularly has crazy sales and releases a new free map like every year
Some people
Then they gon buy it
wildcard released ark in early access for $30 and the game regularly goes on sale for like $10 on steam
tf you mean "its wildcard"
Same my friends don’t play ark cuz their ass at it
💀
They don’t get past beach ark
And also can't handle anything when major exploits are running rampant
arkII- releases
me- "take all my money"
Yeaaa
Yes, only like every other game in existence rn
its better by default tbh
Bruh, my friends and I have been playing since like early 2018 and we loved it. We aren't the best player ever but I know most things about the game. Mainly cuz I watch hours of ark videos daily
This is inevitable but ark 2 will have big bugs at start
it being in ue5 alone fixes so much of arks issues
They make horribly balanced dlc creatures that are p2w af and are incompetent when it comes to checking for exploits
Idc about the bugs bro I just want the Ark experience again
hence the game launching in early access
I play with my brother and my cousins my main friends don’t fw ark
When’s the date rq
2023
Really???
mfw everyone be like "ark was in early access too long"
meamwhile star citizen has been in early access for over a damn decade and has literally nothing to show for it
Yes because other games have people on PC logging into your Xbox account and insiding tribes or joining as an admin for the game
I wanted the month and day
The next stream that could showcase ark stuff is on November 5th
we dont know
And then the devs say that they're not taking the servers down for "damage mitigation"
Have y’all played co-op ark
It’s so annoying
Am tryna play spilt screen you can’t do shit
Couldn't you turn it off at one point
Tether is literal aids
Idk
On pc yes, console can't turn it off.
Pc has a slider for tether distance which can be disabled completely. Console can't support that without It being run by another player
Highest stage hasn't even been touched on, or what they even mean by "primarily primitive". Don't be spouting things that aren't confirmed as if they are, lmao
Calm down big guy
"primarily primitive"
oh hey I found a tek sword
but look at the rest of this primitive shit
In singleplayer your mounts will literally fly in water cuz of tether distance
boom, primarily primitive (albeit an extreme example)
Your spino will disappear In existence
Also can I just say, y'all talk too much, jfc. Let a guy catch up 😅
you dont talk enough
Truest thing said all night
Also this too
Wow surprised tbh
Back to ark 2
Just 2023
Thought it was something else tbf. Keep it on topic please y'all.
Bruh I can't react tf
Honestly hope the second game isn't crossplay so that Xbox players don't have to deal with cheats on dedis
Or that we have an Xbox only smalls in the second game
Given it looks like it’s gonna be Xbox-PC because of win 10…I’m suspecting cross play
It’s a good thing there’s cross play. Now Xbox can finally understand why we don’t play official PvP on PC
Steam official has about as many players as Xbox if not more though?
Not PvP
Ye they do
And ofc you’d need % base, since steam has way more players than Xbox
Just every tribe is a mega cause smaller tribes can't handle it cause cheats
The last numbers I saw were 40-45% PvP on PC and 50-55% PvP on Xbox
Steam players play modded, mostly, iirc
Doesn't steam have more players tho?
…yes? So you can’t use number of players as an argument
Since there’s also way more PvE players on pc than Xbox
Yeah tru
Luckily PS players don’t matter because ark 2 won’t launch for them
Wait what
Don't forget SP since SP is technically under PVE
