We need them more than they do. Like, sure we already have a small army of other horrific monstrosities at our disposal, but alien planets are like scary and stuff. All the Aratai have to worry about is a major ecological disaster, which I'm sure has absolutely nothing to do with our arrival on their planet!

I mean I like dinosaurs, but the main reason I bought ARK is just that it is one of the few games out there where all the cool creature designs aren't just wasted on something that exists entirely for me to kill. The majority of survival games feature regular animals like bears or wolves and then have them do literally nothing but attack and die. Even when the creatures are at least visually creative, like in Subnautica, they are still largely restricted to just being there to either kill or get killed by me. The ability to tame creatures just makes it more interesting.

Though to be fair, improvements to creature AI would make creatures in games more interesting without the need for taming mechanics.

I agree. Usually when I say Ark is just a Dinosaur game it’s only to poke fun at people who are adamantly opposed to the idea. Taming in general is why I got into Ark because I enjoy games that allow me to tame and raise armies of beasts in one way or another. Probably stemming from Pokémon from a very early age.

It's possible with a creative mind, take for example; The Isle. The primary isn't scientific accuracy but it's not completely in realms of fantasy.

They have very interesting takes on dinos, like eg Beipiaosaurus ( Small therizinosauroid theropod ) in their game is the equivalent of a penguin that can fight back. They do it in a pretty believable way imo

Can’t speak for Atlas, but one thing that makes SoT oceans interesting is that there’s shallow water around islands and deep water that’s intended to be a deterrent to undersea exploration between them

If I put them in cryos then they seem to work fine during the transfer so long as it doesn't crash. If I upload them regularly then 50% of the time it crashes when I download them and I've had multiple times where I download them and they don't spawn in and just get deleted.

In order to prevent players and tribes from selling base locations and making tons of money get rid of cave bases. If everyone live outside there would be no incentive for players to sell bases/prebuilt bases and make money in game which is against TOS. Also in order to stop selling of dinos get rid of cloning and cut the level of dinos can achieve through breed in half. Whatever currently level is make that half. Also make it so dinos is cap lock by stats per stats and not levels this will aid in stopping super dinos.

I hope WC finds a way a way to battle super dinos and players making money with in game items and creatures. Cloning chambers should never exist in ark ever again and if in the future WC decide to add Tek, keep Tek separate have 2 modes. Tek and No Tek it's time to return ark to it's glory days. Tek and cheaters have ruined what was once a masterpiece.
