I've checked that, it doesn't show up
No clue then, might be bugged
Would be worth grabbing the Note again just to be sure
The other ??? note I got didn't show up either
But the other ones I've gotten did
I'll try again tomorrow and hope it fixes itself
I can't recollect it, it's showing as collected
Just to double check, the section it's meant to show up in is the section with the prologue right?
Nvm, found it
Had to select Abberation for it to show up lol
Anyone play PlayStation?
Yep
Yessirski
Yeah
On the island all the boss arenas are in the same place as when you do the overseer and enter the hall of history the first things you see are the three island guardian arenas through these windows. When you exit the hall of history and go on the bridge with holes on it you can see that you are really high above the island and in space.
Theres lore in Ark?
Yeah, for eight years.
Whoa, i started playing at around 2018 and i didnt know there was lore
The entire map Extinction is one giant lore dump. And the setting is also a small give away of ARK possibly having lore.
Hopefully the lore in Ark 2 is more “important?” In a way
Or maybe it already is and im just dumb
Eh, that's the point of Genesis
Also yeah, ARK-2 is already confirmed to have the story more on the center stage while still being an MMO survival game like ARK-1 is.
Anyone else not realize there was lore until they watched the animated series
Animated Series isn't canon 😔
If you want the actual story, watch Ned's ARK lore explained video
Oh
I meant lore not more js so u know
hey yall
Like neddythenoodle?
Yes, he has a great ark lore video series
Ark have more lore and theory than the big bang
Yes
I mean, it’s literally the same as ase’s so far, aside from adding an opening cutscene, so old lore videos aren’t exactly outdated.
As well as the inclusion of lost colony
Which honestly doesn’t really change too much in the deeper side of the lore, we just knew Mei and Diana seemingly didn’t make it since their notes stopped but now we got info on them actually surviving (to an extent) and Mei ends up facing the greatest nightmare we have seen yet in that time frame
Can somebody tell me if there is like an actual reason for you to be able to "respawn" lorewise? Or is it just a game element and cant really be explained?
The reason is, it’s a new clone body with the same memories
Wait so everybody respawns? Im a bit confused
New clones are made, but technically you shouldn't respawn, they're simply new clones of you
It's the One Who Waits that makes us respawn, keeping our new memories
So everybody who doesnt ascend respawn infinitely with they are able to ascend?
Or get new clones rather
Yep. That was the plan Helena implemented to make sure that eventually a survivor would make it to earth and slay the king Titan.
You can’t really lose if you have infinite opportunities
Yes people respawn
Because it wouldn't be a game with things that wanna kill you and you can't respawn
But you can respawn
It’s gonna be really interesting to see how things go with “The Lost King” and “The Lost Queen”
That's more of a gameplay explanation, and less of a actual canon one.
I find it funny that the survivor and mei yin decide to kill Rockwell… in a litteral POOL of liquid element and then when they bring the arks back on earth nobody thought “hey maybe let’s not let the Ark with the huge element corrupted guy land on earth”
A: only we wooped his ass in the Element kiddie pool. Mei-Yin wooped his ass above ground, and the fight ended when his ass got too big that the ground collapse on itself. Making Mei and Helena think he was dead due to him falling into what they thought to be the void.
B: hmmmmmmmmmmmm, we technically never killed him on Aberration.
C: You know, the URE probably had a protocol for this exact issue. But Santiago shut down the ARK's defense measures so the Tek Village didn't become Nosti 2.0. So that probably disabled any self-destruct protocols as well.
If we never defeated him Helena and survivor should have been a bit cautious about it since they know (the survivor at least) that he’s still in the ele pool
Well that's why we're going to kick his ass in Lost Colony....likely?
Rockwell is a threat, but by the time Aberration happens, he's not the world-ending threat Corruption itself is.
Like if one fucking jacked dude/woman can walk on his turf and make Rockwell's only real controlled army (Reapers) their own play things and lap dogs. I'm fairly sure Rockwell has no chance against a whole population of cracked out, genetically horrifying humans that are on the brink of whether or not they should be still considered Homo-Sapiens, or a new evolution of humans that don't disappear.
Rockwell is honestly just the Wish.com version of the King Titan by the time Gen2 rolls around.
That also is hella smart in the science department, but has room-temperature IQ when it comes to battle tactics.
Because my man forgot being immobile prooooobably didn't help his battle against us during Aberration.
So what does he do? Become an immobile sentient chair again the moment he gets a new body.
....not the smartest plan.
Makes it really easy to go "here come's the sun, do do do do" via a death beam when you can't move out of the way on your flesh throne.
I think the only way he is able to survive in lost colony is if he joins forces with the vampire people and it to just be a repeat of history like when Helena and Rockwell “teamed up” and Helena didn’t pay to much attention till it was to late
Like the lost king guy dosent really care about Rockwell and he leeches of the colony to power up and leave
I doubt it'll be the case. But also, it could be a very, veeerry uneasy truce between us and Rockwell.
Honestly though, I'd fucking pay money to hear Keith David backstab David Tennant.
In-characters, of course.
Two ASMR worthy voices.
It would make sense like the survivor and Rockwell go the super liminal link and Rockwell kills or traps the survivor which would explain why Rockwell dosent believe that your the same person from abberation cause he left without them
Actually, that's a good point?
I don't know if Rockwell knows we can respawn.
Wait, nope. He had access to the ARK's wifi as the Overseer.
It would kind of be bound to happen that he'd start to see instances on every other ARK of people coming back with the same memories previously.
What if he hacks the survivors implant or something like that to make it so they can’t respawn or he makes a deal with the colony where Rockwell traps you and turns you in to the colony in extange the colony lets him go to the Genesis ship
Only for us to break out.
Because when you can infinitely come back to life.
No strings can control me.
The colony could force you into cryosleep, the colony has highly advanced tek beyond what we know so they could have something that could stop them from respawning
I will not accept any other headcanon other then that The Survivor is fucking horrifying.
A persistent hunter from a species, that already is fucking horrifying to Earth natives back 200,000 years ago.
But this MF can then come back from the dead, probably makes Rockwell look like a fucking joke with how unholy intelligent they are to go from making spears, to, if you allowed us to, thermal nuclear bombs that implode.
Oh, and did I mentioned already that they can come back from the dead. So anything you do to them WILL become a personal vendetta.
That's some DOOM Slayer type of shit.
And honestly, I'm down for it.
All im saying is the colony is more advanced than us
Until we reverse engineer their shit.
Then it's Joeover for them.
And I'm fairly certain that, unless they do some idiotic shit like Earth dying to the vampire cult because we lost.
We're likely going to kick the Lost King's ass. As he's an irrelevant antagonist during Genesis. So, probably not the worse threat we've faced.
I mean by the time you hack yourself out Rockwell goes bye bye and we kill the king and go through the link and when we get there we find a random guy (the person we play as in gen 1) and upload ourselves to him and beat rockwells ass while he just thinks were some rando that got strong but it was us… the survivor
I know that we beat the colony for sure but we get stalled enough for Rockwell to go to genisis
I'm....fairly sure we're not going to body-snatch an existing MF.
As the Genesis ship had versions of other survivors like Santiago on it that the ARK's did. It isn't too unlikely that the ship has a version of us that's just waiting until our engramic matrix enters the body.
I feel like there'd also be a lot of moral implications if we did do that.
We could just upload ourselves to the copy of us cause then we’re hacking ourselves
Also it would be for the grater good so it’s not that immoral
My man, do you know how many people have said this throughout history?
Exactly what I mean
Greater good can go fuck itself when unnatural body-snatching is on the table.
It’s better than letting Rockwell destroy the entire furniture of humanity
future* lol
Don't know what furniture's and chairs have to do with this.
Also, he's barely a threat.
We dealt with the King Titan and Corruption which is, INFINITLY more of a threat then Rockwell ever could be.
Like, he doesn't bother taking Earth over because he KNOWS that, if one survivor can woop his ass. He's now stuck on a planet full of these genetic monsters.
As well, the Genesis ship, as we saw, has no parking system. So even if he did get a win over the ship and make it to Arat. He'd be stuck on a planet in the stone age for years to come.
Sure, he's building up his army on Arat. But that isn't really an issue when Arat is LIGHT YEARS away from Earth, and he'd have to recreate the Genesis ship to bring his entire army back to Earth. Which, on is own is a technological feat.
Rockwell's entire character is talking more shit then he actually can achieve.
Biggest W he has is destroying the Tek Village.
Which, was still a village of unprepared soldiers, turned civilians, that helped him because they thought he was the cool old grandpa of the village.
Like I am honestly expecting the Lost King to have more war crimes then Rockwell does.
I agree im just saying if we get trapped and Rockwell leaves before we hack out it would make sense why he doesn’t recognize us cause when we get to Genesis we make a new survivor similar to how you create yourself when u first start
I don't think that's how that works, but sure.
I'm 90% sure The Survivor is suppose to canonically be a self-insert.
Because the only canon information we have of them, is that they're from the 21st century.
Like how the western dude is on scorched how he decides to be a different person cause it’s a new start
That was more spiritual then literal.
Yeah but we do it more litteral
How?
What in-universe suggests that survivors can change their appearance?
Honestly at the end of the day the story is fucked rn cause it makes no sense and we won’t understand it till lost colony comes out
Not really? It makes sense. Even without lost colony, we know for a fact that Rockwell uses a teleporter (the superliminal link) to send himself, or his mind specifically to the Genesis ship.
That’s not that complicated.
as for the survivor, they likely used the same superliminal link, and Helena likely had the Genesis ship clone a body specifically for the survivor
Lost Colony is largely just to explain what happened to Mei Yin and Diana
We actually may have a decent grasp on what happens involving atleast Mei somewhat, atleast with context clues such as her becoming the “Lost Queen” and this “Lost king” seemingly manipulating her to joining his side by likely pulling the ‘You and I both lost something’ card
It’s definitely more speculation of the “Lost King’s” lore but I suspect he was a higher up official of arat prime. An alpha ranked official (The sanctuary hologram texts when translated reference gamma implant personal so it’s likely the lost king is an alpha one) and something happened to make him ineligible for the genesis launch so he goes rouge in response and becomes the “Lost king”
I’m talking about the story of how the survivor and Rockwell get to the link
I know all that
It’s highly likely Rockwell just uses the chaos we get ourselves into with Mei and the lost king to sneak his way onto the ship. After all, it was mentioned aberration crashed near arat prime itself so it’s not unbelievable that he got there rather quickly
As for our survivor, we likely just assumed he was dead since in lore we don’t actually know if the overseers can respawn like we can. And well… Rockwell can technically do that but upon aberrations crash landing it likely shut down the overseer protocol so he’s killable now. This may likely be referenced in lost colony as well
If anyone cares I know the OG HLNA voice actor
wowzers
Can someone explain why helena didnt come with us in the genesis ship and if she didnt how she got into the new planet we visited
She sacrificed herself to die with rockwell at the end of ase
That was HLN-A
Different character.
First part of that question, is because Homo-Deus's can only stay within our reality for a small amount of time.
The second half is a question we'll have to wait till ARK-2 comes out to get the answer to.
Helena herself as a homo deus wasn’t able to go through the super luminal link fully, she made HLN-A to act as our guide/as a in general warning to the genesis colonists. Helena after making HLN-A presumably lost her consciousness in the system
Her on arat however is likely due to meeka being able to speak with certain people long since passed since there is no real way she had been revived on the genesis ship with those memories. That and the way it transitions in that trailer likely insinuates something about Meeka
Meeka*
Because this Helena shouldn’t have those memories let alone be on arat at all
My bad lol
My guess is she’s likely communicating through her implant
Possibly, we just aren’t too sure yet. However we do know that it is the same Helena but it’s unlikely she’s alive on arat directly
Just gonna assume until further notice, that what we see in the trailer is just Helena using her limited time to communicate with Meeka. As she did with us at the end of Extinction.
I just wanna know why in the fuck Wildcard decided to make her look normal, and NOT her ghostly form.
Light years away from earth? I doubt it, I especially doubt it’s like that because she’s not in the deus form either
I suspect it’s something involving Meeka herself
Because there’s no way she would even be able to be on arat in her homo deus form let alone be an actual survivor on that planet
Why?
She's literally light now, what's preventing her from going to other planets?
She gets yoinked back into her own pocket dimension when she isn't in our reality.
Shit isn't too far fetched to imagine she just went to Arat.
It turns out Meeka is just secretly every characters daughter
Light that’s tied to the arks systems. Not the genesis system. She tried to go there but couldn’t so she made HLN-A as a substitute
...
Where in the notes does it state she's tied to the ARK's systems?
The fact she ascended on earth in the region that’s tied to the arks…
Can't really be a helpful guide if you only have like 5ish minutes to do anything in our reality before getting yeeted out.
Also the whole thing where she tried to go to the genesis ships insinuates that she’s unable to go there at all
And that's indicative...how?
Correlation does not mean causation.
It’s also another factor that there’s no reason for her to even be on that planet like that to begin with. Like why would she even be there??? If she was able to then why make the guide at all?
How the hell would she even get there with the super luminal link being gone as well?
Stel would likely know. But I don't recall anything that objectively states that she's tied to the ARK's systems and can't go anywhere else.
The ONE established way to even get from point A to B
For physical animals, yeah.
You get a lot more options when you're made out of light, and can go light-year speed.
She’s not actual light tho?
she’s just data that that can access the arks systems
That’s all it is. She’s just data that can access not just the arks but also implants (which may partially explain how she can even speak to meeka but as we seen in the genesis teaser she can’t go with the survivor for some unknown reason. Meaning she can’t directly go through the luminal link)
@mental basin This man can determine what's what.
Stel, is there anything in the current lore that indicates or states that Helena is purely tied to the ARK's systems, and can't go to other planets like Arat?
With what teasers and certain things have said it’s basically insinuating she can’t go away from the arks, she’s likely tied to at the very least, earths code of ascension or something like that.
There’s no real alternate reality, it’s just a data frame. Their answer to the next step of evolution was basically ethereal data that can modify the arks to however they wish. That explains how she was able to even have us respawn. She programmed that code into the arks to allow us to try again
She can kinda go wherever she wants to my knowledge. Just like, she can't physically be present in our plane of existence for long. Nor Genesis'.
Actually, I don't think we see her physically present at ALL outside of the new cutscenes, which I guess take place in whatever plane of existence she resides in. Any other time we see her, it's as a projection.
Right.
So she 'can' go anywhere she wants. (that we know) Just can't physically appear until whatever-the-fuck happens in ARK-2 for her to appear to Meeka.
Because she's literally just energy now, and she needs no stupid ARK system to tell her what to do.
🤔
You know, I wonder how much power output you can get if you chucked a Homo-Deus into an electrical generator.
I feel that’s a bit bogus in all honesty since that just makes little to no sense that she can’t just go wherever with limited time
Aye, I go off of what the big-S says.
Dude is probably be most cracked out minded person in this community that's basically a Wikipedia page for the ARK lore.
He also has a channel that you should subscribe to.
He's like the Installation00 of the ARK community.
Just not as big...yet
It just doesn’t feel right at all to me that she somehow couldn’t go there to the ship itself but IS able to appear on arat like that even tho she’s not in her ethereal deus form
Two things.
Genesis 1 trailer is debatably non-canon now. As we see the formation of HLN-A in it, yet Gen2 establishes that HLN-A was already on the ship months/years before The Survivor wakes up in the simulation. So they kind of retconned that.
Secondly, with that. There's nothing in the current canon that states she can't go onto the Genesis ship.
She just can't stay there for a long enough time to be reliable.
It's like trying to do an ARK boss with 20Mb internet speed that I'll get disconnected after like three minutes of being connected. Before my entire router overloads and shuts down.
Even tho we just never see her physically ON the ship. And WHY make HLN-A to begin with if she could go there?
It feels super counter intuitive to have her just not show up for a bit and warn people to then ‘vanish’ but in the notes it’s explained she’s more of a voice in people’s head mostly so she COULD give people heads up she just can’t physically be there
It just doesn’t make sense like I get it, HLN-A IS a physical thing but if she could do that and make the respawn thing, couldn’t she just make an alternate her in general using the ark system?
Aye, I already stated why multiple times.
Because a physical guide is infinitely more practical then having a guide that gets Thanos snapped every other minute.
Don't need to physical go there and give a heads up when your ChatGPT self can do that for you.
Then why didn’t she just use the arks to make an alternate version of herself with the same memories to do the same exact thing?…
Because she DOES have the ark data frame to work with. She can alter survivors respawn. She could have done that for herself and used her prior data to then make a copy but use her existing memories to give it to that clone. Like… it’s not an impossibility here for her to do that. Homo deus are THE single most powerful entities besides overseers so she could easily do something like that
Because she doesn't have full control of the ARK's?
She only did ONE thing with the ARK's, and that took decades/centuries of handfeeding micro tiny bits of code into The System to make itself think it came up with the idea of the respawn protocol. Because if she didn't, she'd be seen as an intruder by The System and get locked out permanently.
Creating HLN-A was a more on-the-fly decision making, because she didn't know Rockwell would survive Aberration's crash into Earth.
She literally states as such in the ending cinematic of Aberration. "nothing could survive that crash"
Yet, he did. And she didn't have a few decades to handfeed the now deactivated ARK's that JUST served their entire existances purpose.
And when was it said it took her that long to actually figure out? Which note had her say that? Because in general even then I feel this is getting to be some plot hole type stuff going off this logic
Because, unless LC retcons that as well. The ARK's are now just a hunk of giant-ass space metal.
Because when the ARK's reseed protocol is initiated, the point is to destroy ALL Element on the planet. Including any fuel sources the ARK's use.
I feel it more meant the harmful stuff since if it was the actual element then the spires around the arks would of vanished slowly too at the end but they’re still there
All Element is harmful if allowed to be used.
Not really?
The arks themselves prove you can use element without worry of corruption. It only got bad due to the tek war
And that took centuries for it too take root on the earth to then trigger the corruptions spread
The arks regulate and control/purge harmful byproduct of element before it ever becomes an issue, so in technicality, Earth could still use tek just the arks now help keep it under control. The only one that doesn’t is aberration which is currently broken. Then there’s also Arat prime which is going through its own separate problem involving something about ‘Cursed tek’
Refined Element turns into spore-like particles when used.
The spores settle, and without a filtration system, will slowly form new Element crystals.
If festered for long enough, those crystals can turn into Corruption and cause the shit to happen again.
Only reason why this doesn't happen on the ARK's and Genesis ship, is because they filter out any used Element and turn it back into refined Element before it can become hazardous. Due to the ARK's having finite resources.
Also, fun fact. Gen2 changed the timeline to more hint that the Element-wars too decades, not centuries.
Also hang on.
Never the less, the arks should still be able to refine the element down and keep the earth clean even with the whole tek being used thing still
The only place that would be a problem now likely is arat since there’s no filter system to help keep the element from growing there if someone were to figure out how to use something tek based
Directly from Marc Soskin, the original writer of The Island - Extinction's storyline.
" - There are a few reasons for existing on the ARKs, but mainly it was necessary to prepare humans for its potential presence on Earth and give the ARKs data on "the enemy" such as it was - like running a combat simulation in preparation for a battle. In the event that the ARKs did not completely, 100% wipe out the infection or if more Element appeared, humans would need to know how to deal with it, and this could give them the data to do so. However it was only meant to be included in small doses - its abundance on Aberration was a result of its malfunctioning systems."
The ARK's have Element on them so survivors can get used to it, and kick its ass in the case that the ARK's didn't 100% wipe it out.
I might be rusty of my English, but that kind of indicates that the ARK's are meant to COMPLETELY wipe out Element on the planet. But just stored Element on themselves so it can prepare humanity in case it fucked up, or more Element is found later down the line.
I still feel it more implies the corrupted version of element since it mentions “The enemy” which is corruption
But as said, if it did destroy all the element then the tek spires around the one ark that touched down near sanctuary should have vanished too instead of just you know… being there lol
Element and Corruption are one in the same, my man.
Corruption is just the mature stage of Element.
Rockwell literally hears the hivemind in his head, just by being exposed to liquid Element.
They're one in the same.
Two sides of the same coin type of shit.
The corruption is a byproduct and the main reason earth is messed up… tek if used right can be ‘good’ when not regulated you get the bad… bad as in future enemy. Tek can be used right as seen with the arks and genesis ship. Specifically the ship which found a way to reuse that stuff for infinite fuel basically.
If it was ALL tek, we wouldn’t even have arat prime itself remain
Like come on… ever bit of tek would have been purged and destroyed but instead it was simply just the corruption. Nothing more nothing less
By your own logic earth would have been fully clean. Only things that would have remained likely would have been the lost king and Rockwell but even then, they would have likely been killed by the survivors. In general the whole “Purge all element” thing definitely isn’t what was implied. It just meant the corruption
Tek is just a broad term for a technological tier that humanity has achieved with Element.
All Tek did was spread Element faster then it naturally spreads. (Command & Conquer type of shit)
Corruption, no matter what, forms from Element. But Tek, and the Element-war accelerated the speed that Element grows.
Tek is MADE from element tho? It would of been deleted too
Not my logic, that's just how both the notes and outside official sources like the writers says how it works.
It’s you reading it and assuming it means all of it even tho we get visual showing of the corruption vanishing and the only reason sanctuary falls is due to the intense shockwave made from the ark discharging the purging of bad element
'shakes head' yeah, it would.
That's why Sanctuary crumbles at the end.
Arat Prime is safe, only because Aberration failed its reseed protocol.
Been already confirmed Aberration is near Arat Prime, so not too far-fetched to imagine that, due to Aberration being a faliure of an ARK. Arat-Prime and anything on it is safe until we go there and kick their asses.
That’s not at all how or why sanctuary fell…
Going to say it was because the ARK landed next to it?
It was in response to the intense shockwave it formed, it caused the survivor to be pushed slightly as well
I literally said when the discharge was made it formed an intense shockwave which had such force to knock the city down (the ark itself was way larger then the city so it’s not far fetched to say physics worked its magic and literally flattened the city)
My man.
If the shockwave was strong enough to destroy the infrastructure of the universes strongest alloy.
We'd be dead from that range.
If it did purge the element in general it would of erased the platform we were on bro-
The platform was made of tek and in the fricken sky but it remained
Also we were pretty far away what you on about? The city was legit right next to a pillar
In general the logic of it “purging all element” makes 0 sense especially with us STANDING on a ELEMENT platform Lol
Good point.
Don't think Wildcard thought of that. Just like how they never thought of the "why" the moon is destroyed, and just added it because it was cool.
That one I have direct proof of, because Marc himself stated that was a decision made behind his back, and he had no intention of the moon being destroyed.
So to this day, we still don't know why the moon is blown up.
I chalk that up to a misfire on a tek weapon
After all, there were tek nukes/bombs that exist so I wouldn’t doubt the moon got hit by something on accident during the war
But that also doesn’t explain the actual arks pillars not vanishing either at the end… they were made of tek too but didn’t fall/vanish
Even the obelisks im pretty sure remained
Sure.
But that's a headcanon.
Nothing official for....6ish years.
The reason why I brought that up, is because while ARK's story is good. There's flaws.
You don't HAVE to like that the ARK's are suppose to purge 'all' Element, and how that has some issues with us standing on a Tek pad. I agree, it's a bit silly.
But that's just objectively what is happening.
We can agree to disagree if things make sense or not.
But that's just how their writing is.
Could be wrong on that one but the main implant thing in the sky above the ark doing the primary pulse remained that was also made of element. Several things that were made of element that was technically GOOD element weren’t destroyed
Especially post Extinction.
MF's reusing Santiago for the 3rd time.
I’m more of the belief the terms were used loosely but was supposed to mean the bad element/corruption in general. And as you mentioned arat prime remains due to aberration not discharging the pulse going off that logic but it also explains why the cursed element isn’t also purged
The entire ARK's are made out of Element, as they're all Tek.
In theory the entire thing should collapse. Unless somehow they're made from 90% of other shit like steel, and just so happen to have a small amount of Element in them infrastructure that when the reseed protocol happens, it doesn't effect them.
But that's also getting into headcanon territory.
Granted the ark platform itself around the landmass was seemingly (somehow) made to scoop landmasses out the earth and pull them into space so if it did ‘collapse’ it would of just been a bit off center upon landing and if the element was purged but it just reinforces that it was the corruption was purged and not ‘all’ element
If it was just 1 thing that wasn’t right then i would have agreed but thing is… there’s multiple and sanctuary could be argued that it was ‘bad’ due to it being a place with mostly malfunctioning things so the arks could of seen it as bad and nuked it but it’s more likely just due to the pulse of the ark and it being right next to a pillar then it just got deleted since the pulse wave was RIGHT there lol
But as I was saying, if it was just 1 thing like the tek platform we were on not being deleted then I would have agreed. The pillars tho after the pulse not fading away is another thing that’s wrong with this and the last thing being the core of the arks not seemingly vanishing either. Those factors I feel specifically make it seem like only the good element remains and is built to keep bad element from reseeding
who would win ina fight a full power king titan or rockwell prime?
The King Titan.
That's not even a close fight.
MF is like twice the size canonically then what we see in-game.
Dude is the guardian and champion of the Corruption, the very thing Rockwell thinks he's top shit for.
Rockwell is 'just' in the starting process of creating his own lifeforms. Yet that can just be tamed like every other animal by The Survivor.
Then you have the Corrupted creatures the King Titan commands, that CAN'T be tamed, and are basically acting like they have the rage virus from 28 Days Later.
So while a Shadowmane will run for its life if it gets its side blown off by a grenade. A corrupted raptor will crawl towards you with all of the hatred of 20 universes combined while having half of its torso blown off, and dragging its own guts across the ground.
Also, took an entire program formed by the most technologically advanced societies humanity ever had to defeat the Corruption. And in turn the King Titan.
Rockwell got his ass wooped three, and likely soon to be a fourth time by a 21st century abomination of a human-being that can just zerg rush you.
Also, don't like doing so. But if we take gameplay into canon.
Rockwell can be defeated with a 12-gauge, a shadowmane, and cactus broth.
Mecha King Titan needs a specifically designed Mek to even scratch the MF in-universe.
Take that as you will.
so if rockwell could make his entire plan would he reach king titan level?
lets consider that by some reason rockwell kills bob and start his spread of corruption around and somehow he encounters with king titan who would win rockwell full potential or king tian
The issue is, Rockwell doesn't have Corruption. He's Element-infused, but that's different from being Corrupted.
The meat growth is him himself rewriting the ship on an atomic level.
Also, killing The Survivor (we aren't Bob. Bob is a separate character) is virtually impossible, as we canonically can respawn.
A noglin may be able to mind control 'maaaaybe' a Corrupted giga.
But like...so can Corruption itself take over a noglin, and now you don't only have a noglin. But a fucked up raged infused noglin that doesn't give a fuck if it's being torn apart or not, it's going to infect you.
also this confrontation would be possible if rockwell explored all the universe due to possibly element isnt inly in earth also in another worlds so someday they would encounter
Also, Corruption 'is' the Element hivemind. So if it really, REALLY wanted to be an asshat about it. (assuming it has the ability to) it could just....make the Element in all of Rockwell's creatures into Corruption. Or for the Element inside of them destroy itself, and killing all of Rockwell's creatures. Because I assume Element is like their iron in their blood now. Without it, they'd die.
Rockwell actually talks about wanting to kick the ass of the Titans during the Aberration fight. He, funnily enough, is trying to convince The Survivor to join him in doing so.
Oh Element is 100% on other planets. We see this on Gen2. And likely is going to be the case for ARK-2.
also something i was thinking is that how humans could missunderstand element as a new elemental chemical or substance when it does have a damn hivemind bro it is like well lets just say a microbial living creature with an excellent propagation method
To be fair, I wouldn't think a crystal is sentient at first either.
Element in its natural state, as seen in Gen2, is a blueish crystal.
Element is, to be it plainly. Fucking cracked out of its mind as a substance.
It's a crystal, yet can be melted down and used in alloys.
It also be melted down and burned into fuel instead. Which the fucking crystals mind you then turn into a spore-like substance in the air, that then lands on soil and grows into new crystal batches.
So, it being alive is kind of....abormal for something like this.
then how it has a hivemind or intelligence thats why i get confused always
Best way I can think of, of how it's alive.
A: it's actually nanomachines that for one reason or another appear as a natural resource (crystals) in its natural state.
B: the most likely. It's just space magic, and this shit is the pinnacle of evolution in the entire universe.
Sorry, forgot to tag
Same reason how the Flood can warp spacetime in the Halo universe.
Because it just can.
well if we count option A we could say that an alien species created element to kill another kind of life except themselfs
Maybe.
Or a species turned themselves into nanomachines.
hmmmm the thing is how they would spread in meteors then
Old lore suggests Element is a natural resource in the universe.
New lore/Gen2 stuff suggests it 'miiiiiight had been sent here by a third-party source.
So if the latter is true, we're kind of stepping into Command & Conquer lore.
Blow up a planet once it's completely infected to have millions of shrapnel go in every direction until they hit into a new planet.
so ummm element just would like to destroy universe not a conquest mission
Seemingly, that's what Corruption was trying to do to Earth.
Digged into the Earths crust, and stopped its core and made it tidally locked.
Corruption already won by the time that happened. So why else would it do that other then to destroy the planet further?
so the elements plan is to destroy all the universe kinda strange idk how they would benefit from that except they use the planet to reproduce themselfs
So I have a friend that's really into ARK lore. And they think Element is a physical manifestation of both entropy, and the devil.
Marc Soskin, the previous writer, is religious. And obviously ARK has biblical references in it.
So what he thinks is, Element is the living manifestation of entropy (chaos and disorder in the universe) while also being the devil. That's why the hivemind is so hateful and rage induced 24/7.
Element-war was also caused by humanity using Tek, a byproduct of Element.
This could be taken as the games version of when Eve bite into the forbidden apple, and was casted out of Eden.
Humanity took Element, the forbidden fruit of the universe, and used it and asshats caused the Earth (Eden) to be destroyed, and we where casted out from Eden.
It's not till now, generations later as cloned survivors. We can take back Eden (Earth) and undo what our forefathers did with the forbidden fruit. (Element)
Same way chaos benefits from creating black holes.
It's just in Elements nature to be evil.
Because it 'is' chaos and disorder itself.
so we taking entropy not works with time that deteors the universe itself to unify all the universe so we replace the time itself ofr the element
Can you reword that? That sentance made....no sense at all.
in physics in the entropy theory the time just destroys everything bc the universe tends to unify everything in a mass however when the big bang happened that entropy dissapeared , however the time increase the entropy level making everything decay.
Hmm, okay now I understand (sorry my shift key got fucked)
So technically, yes. With time Element can be destroyed.
But obviously that's trillions of years in the future, so that's kind of an issue on a shorter, human time scale.
Fun thought experiement. If we're to assume the cycle theory is true. (the fact the universe goes through a big bang, then a big crunch, before a new big bang again) then it's possible Element has always existed, and that's why it's so powerful.
Because if we're to assume Element is literally entropy.
Then unless a universe is formed without it, it'll always come back.
...just like fucking William Afton.
yeah thats how entropy works big bang ocurred universe just like entropy so time decays everything (n theory the last things to dissapear are black holes due to its massive mass) and well everything becomes a damn mass mixed with everything
and yeah then the cycle repeats itself
Yeah, everything goes back to the primordial soup, before, in theory, exploding again.
Honestly, fuck multi-verse theory.
I want to know what the fuck happened before our universe. Cause THAT shit seems more likely as the years go by.
so thats the physic way to explain how life exist
time is decaying everything slowly
so in that change of decay
life happens
Imagine if the Aratai's in ARK-2 are the physical manifestation of time, and being the one thing that can permenantly destroy Element.
/jk
But yeah, it does seem though that they're more leaning towards that Element was created.
But I honestly fuck more with the idea that Element always has, and likely always will exist.
universe just wants his soup well mixed but big bang just keep messing with him again and again
The universe just wants to eat her fucking soup, but keeps uncontrollably picking up the bowl and smashing it to the ground.
Wait, would that be entropy?
Shit, it really has always existed.
the least level of entropy would be the most complex way of the universe
the higher it gets the more soup it is
universe just like it simple
Ah fuck, so you have to have a fuck ton of entropy to have a decent meal.
yes
gafter all we all will become dust for the universe soup oneday
i doubt we would ever see the end of the universe that way ngl
as humanity
Eh, I have more bias then most people when it comes to our species.
it would be funny to see an empty universe just with black holes dying due to entropy lol
We're at a stage on our planet that it'd take a planet destroyer to kill every single human. We're like fucking cockroaches.
Newer studies suggest that actually a decent amount of humans would survive a nuclear war.
Not good, but that's way beyound enough to repopulate, and we've had worse before.
Nuclear winter is also a weird topic. Because it's never agreed upon how devastating it would actually be.
Mostly because it's still only theoretical if one would even happen in a nuclear war. But some say it'd take centuries to recover, while others say decades.
Been doing research in nuclear warfare and shit for a story I'm writing. And the more I look into it, the more I'm convinced the only reason why MAD works is, isn't because it'd kill our species or planet. But because it'd destabilize the nations involved so badly they'd collapse. Which to politicians is more important then our own species.
well also thinking how the dumb of humans didnt kjnow element wasnr a elemental chemical bro
bc chemically element isnt viable to exist
Oh yeah, Element breaks a fuck ton of established science IRL.
But that's the charm of ARK's story.
i mean it could exist but it would dissapear after 20 seconds lol
Brinks between sci-fi to magical fantasy land.
It's like Star-Wars, before Disney bought it and retconned 90% of the cool shit.
Yerp.
Half-Life is an asshat of a system that doesn't allow cool shit to exist for too long.
it would be so damn high in the amount of electrons and protons that it would be so inestable
But I excuse it because, it cool.
Also if I recall, the half-life could increase if it contains more energy.
And the whole point of Element if I recall is, in canon, it doesn't run out. It's an infinite fuel source as long as it doesn't burn for ammo or shit.
Soooooooooooooooooo, maybe it just a gram has the power of a goddamn black hole, and so is able to survive?
Could also be infinitely self-replicating itself on an atomic level so fucking quickly.
Actually that would explain why it takes so long to naturally grow. Because it has to dedicate most of its resources in not just...disappearing from existance.
It hungers for the mines
i mean a black hole is a huge amount of mass that curves so much space itself everything around it fall in it
Yeah, but if I recall. It hypothetically produces the most amount of energy in the universe.
It's like a type 4 civilization or shit like that, that can harness black holes in theory.
well also there are two opposite forces in the universe
the dark force and the gravity
Dark matter?
well lets call it rhe antigravity force
Or are they different things?
not exactly
antigravitty is a force that repulses everything
thats why science believes in white holes
gravity attracts everything
dark matter is like atoms that travek in time somehow
in fact they are the opposite of normal matter
Wonder if we can weaponize it.
In physics, dark energy is understood as an antigravitational force that counteracts the attraction of gravity and is responsible for the accelerated expansion of the universe.
Makes sense.
If gravity can cause density so fat that it collapses on itself.
Antigravity could push shit away so hard it causes it to ripple on itself.
well idk we not understand it fully ngl
'Yet'
We've weaponized atom splitting.
Give us some time, we can weaponize dark matter in time.
dark matter is so expensive due to find negative protons i think
dark matter is like an atom but made of negative protons and electrons
well tbh there is a theory
to know how big is the universe
so the theory is the following
ig there is more gravity than dark energy the universe is collapsing itself
if there is the same amount the universe is just expanding in a flat florm
form* but if the dark force is more the universe is expanding in a ring form i think
Split some dark matter in half, and create a whole ass pocket big-bang on some random ass city.
onme thing i cant explain to myselkf nowadays is how damn atoms linking to eachother bc they need atoms on their layers to be stable can feel emotions and be living creatures
just think iy
how
Hm
Hi
Well i sill answer you that rn
Well to male an atomic bomb we need uranium 236 which is a variety of uranium
So if an atom of hydrogen made of dark matter is so expensive imagine a uranium one
And think about making an stomic bomb
It qould be so expensive to make
Eh, the US is already trillions in debt.
Fuck it, let's go balls to the wall with it.
Well it would be so expensive that even it qould be more possible to create irl element lol
We could weaponize that as well.
Fuck it, real life ARK: Survival Evolved.
I'll be one of the many people affected by the respawn protocol. And I'll force a nameless to be a friend, whether it wants to or not.
Nah im gonna be one of the spaceship genesis staff and be forked by rockwell hell yeah
Consumed into the meat wall
Well im also a dark souls and elden ring lore fan lol
Even bloodborne which its lore is a little bit more complexn
Dark Souls is honestly, while a fucked universe, not that bad as a Chosen Undead.
Just don't you dare go hollow.
Bloodborne on the other hand...
Yeah you're kind of fucked unless you can adapt REALLY fast to a new environment.
Well i mean as taking the first dark soul as a reference well you can survive pretty well but if you are in dark souls 3 you are fucked up bc it is the end of the world lol
Yeah.
But there's implications in one of the official books that if you bring the age of darkness, it'll eventually pass and a new age of light without the flames of a bonfire will emerge.
Which, even though I know it's been officially stated otherwise.
I really like the theory that Elden Ring is this new world without the flames of the past.
Yeah but dark siuls 3 is fucked up bc the flame age lasted so much long it broke the natural cycle and now the world is broken lol
The flame goes weaker eachtime a new lord incinerates himself
Well that's why the age of darkness is needed.
If I recall, the official book says that with darkness finally coming back, the world can heal as all life is killed off. Only for a new age of light and life to emerge afterword's to a healed world.
Yeah in fact thats the alternative ending in dark souls 3
Aye, just saying.
Elden Ring's world is in a really healthy state.
And from what little we've seen of it, the badlands is a vast desert.
Cooooould be remnants of the old Dark Souls 3 world that hasn't healed yet.
You use tje fire maiden to kill the flame
Yeah, but I believe the established canon ending is allows the flames to die.
Hang on, let me double check
Well except if u die bc if u die in elden ring you you into a limbo of suffering in the erdtree rots itself
You cant teally die your soul go to thw erdtree rots and suffer there with that godwick corpse lol
Okay, yeah. It's the End of Fire ending that the book uses as its canon ending.
Miyazaki has stated that there's no canon endings to his games. So take that as you will.
but that ending does fit the most thematically.
Soiving in elden ring wouldnt be so good ngl
It is fucked up also
All bc golden order wsnting to take all the power of its landa
Lands
living in any FromSoftware world would be horrible
Bro elden ring is kinda a battle royale between gods and deitys to see qho wins the lands between
Even all of the Armored Core timelines are such in a fucked state.
Bloodborne is the only who could be a little bit better
Counterpoint.
my fucking shift key is broken, hang on
Okay, it good
Counterpoint.
If we're the Tarnished in the Elden Ring universe. Then we can't stay dead, just like the Chosen Undead.
As being Tarnished means your grace can't return to the Erdtree, and it basically just spits you back out and you get a new body.
The gods and deitys just use us to puts his new order
Ah, not in the Golden Order ending
The frenzied flame the moon etc
Golden Order's ending is where you server ties to every god, and allow the Lands Between to make its own choices.
Idk why but deitys and gods just like so much the lands between
Wasnt that the lunar age?
Lunar age you just dip out with Ranni.
You don't do anything else but save yourself and Ranni.
In the lunar age the moon makes every god unable to reach lands between and let things just happen
Ayo
The moon unables or block deitys from reaching lands between but there is no any new order
Ranni just says well guys im gonna just sit here and enjoy my life cya and do whatever u want
Pretty sure there's still some form of downside with the Moon ending. It's a FromSoftware game afterall.
I need to double check, but isn't the moon itself also a deity?
Okay, yeah looked it up.
So the Age of Stars ending does block the deity's, BUT man can still meddle with the Elden Ring and become demigods and shit if a civil war is waged against you.
Golden Order ending though places a seal on the Elden Ring itself, making it that no god OR man can use it ever again.
Without the Elden Ring, there's no demigods that can control the Lands Between with an iron fist, nor gods to destroy it.
So the Lands Between basically just turns into more like Game of Thrones with actual human politics, instead of politics with fantasy magic and demigods and shit.
Overall, she is incredibly selfish, but she is still the best. She seeks to free HERSELF and either frees the people by an inevitable consequence or leads them away in what she considers freedom. In either case, either ending eliminates the possibility of another Outer God dominating the Midlands, at least using the Ring of Elden as the Greater Will and Frenzied Flame do, and gives them the opportunity to go their own way.
Translated with DeepL.com (free version)
I took it from
A lore web
Downsides though is, Age of Stars while man can still take the power. Man can make their own choices and laws.
Golden Order's major downside is that it not only makes it that no man or god can tamper with the Elden Ring. But also makes it that there's complete and utter order under every kingdom. Making it kind of dictatorsish.
So take your poison basically.
Well s lore channel in spanish
Think this comes down to personal believes, basically.
Do you think that man should be allowed to redo the civil wars on the Lands Between. Or do you think complete and utter order under a dictatorship that NO ONE can have power is the best?
Frenzied Flame is just...objectively bad.
Well frenzied flame is just like ummm well yeah lets say it like entropy
A soup of fire and chaos
Frenzied Flame is when you say "fuck it" and just nuke the entire world, just because a handful of asshats wanted to represent the entirety of the Lands Between.
Going nuclear for an issue that could be fixed, to a degree.
Well in almost all ending we use a new deity to put his order in the lands between
Is just that gods or deitys trying to conquest the golden order lands
Then the golden order god revives tarnished to have someone to pursue his legacy
Golden Order ending isn't under any god, that's the point.
So for context, Goldmask's entire belief is that gods are no better then man, and that no one deserves that type of power.
Golden Order ending isn't actually putting into power the 'current' Golden Order. (one that Marika is part of) But a new one by Goldmask's beliefs that Marika is no better then the Outer Gods themselves.
Kind of a misleading name for the ending.
As technically, the Golden Order you're putting into power isn't Marika's Golden Order.
I say the golden order ending name to the normal ending
Oh, I mean the Golden Order ending.
Which is the one you follow Goldmasks questline.
Our T-posing chad.
"The current imperfection of the Golden Order, or instability of ideology, can be blamed upon the fickleness of the gods no better than men."
Direct quote from an item description of what Goldmask believes.
Giga Chad for calling out the bullshit that is the Outer Gods.
Yeah heah ik
In faxt is just the god of the golden order
There is a god which i dont eemmwber his name who used the golden order to control the land betweens
He just saw marika and said well this lady could serve as my direct messenger and protector so lets give her this ring which contains my authority in this lands
The Greater Will.
But again, not the point of the new Golden Order that Goldmask was trying to form before he died.
Goldmask's version of the Golden Order is to have 'no' gods at all, even the Greater Will control it.
The entire point why you put the Golden Order rune on the Elden Ring is because no gods at all can affect it.
Yeah yeah but i refer to the standard ending
Yeah, but the "standard" ending is the Age of Fracture. That's the name of it.
The "Golden Order" ending is different, as you're putting in power the beliefs of Goldmask and making the Golden Order 2.0 basically.
Sorry, it's called the "Age of Order" ending.
Im spanish so i dont know the english names lol
Fair, had to look up the ending list to get their official names.
Also ngl it is understandable why marika hates morgot and mogh
Even if they are her sons
The augurys killed the damn marika family lol
And tortured them
You mean an Omen?
In spanish we say augury to omwn
Fair.
Yeah, but also if I recall. There's nothing to suggest that with proper upbringing and care, they couldn't had been better in her eyes of morality.
Kiiiiinda just flat out racist to disown your child just because they popped out as a race that you have beef with.
Morgot has a questionable past if I recall, but dude dedicates his entire life protecting the front door of the Erdtree and the Golden Order.
Well she is so angry she sent messmer to kill the damn entire race of omen
Yep, then left him behind.
At least she tried to repair or contain messmer curse
Marika, while justified in her hatred. Kind of is no better then the Omen's.
That's the theme of her narrative. That even good people can be pushed to the edge and become as bad, if not worse then the people they despise.
Well like marika is also kinda the father of ranni etc
Yeah, let's not get into that.
That entire family tree is fucked up.
Every god in the lands between has like an alter ego
Miquella and that purple girl flower
And marika and radagon
Pretty sure they where the same, but Miquella just literally removed his morals and ethical side into a new physical being.
Fair
While marika tried to destroy elden ring in the trailer bc his son got killed radagon tried to fix it
"Radagon, of the "fuck you Morgot, you're not getting in" Order"
Well imagine ark with the dark souls lore comolexity lol
Why always the lore channels are empty in tbe servers lol?
Probably because there's nothing new to talk about now.
well people could make theories or anything else
There isn’t really much to theorize about regarding ark in general, and even with Lost Colony, we still haven’t had a full gameplay trailer, so there’s doubly not that much to theorize on.
Yeah, most theories are already talked about here.
Basically any new lore information gets IMMEDIATELY consumed and heavily talked about for the next few days, before everything dies down. And this channel becomes inactive until someone randomly wants to talk, or new information is dropped.
Guys I know how we can get more theories
with rockwell speeding beyond ya on amutated dino to the uplink
Do we know what the codex is that the lost king mentions or is it a new thing for LC
On extinction? Isn't that the king titan?
Believe he's referring to a characters (possibly Mei-Yin's) digital dossier.
My guess is that it’s a database containing the memories of all the survivors recorded using the implants
It could just be a narrative extension to the general idea of engram archives, or it could be something completely new that's tied to it directly
Could it be actually the dossier we see in the ARK-2 trailer for Santiago?
Or was that part of the engram archives?
I’m level 205 finally I found a way to get 10 more levels
is ark the animated series lore accurate?
It's a non-canon retelling of the events of the notes.
It's kind of what the Halo show tried to do.
But like, not ass.
Still kinda is
Like the only worth while character rn to watch for it is Nerva, everyone else got their character gutted
what is the ark lore because its litteraly impossible to follow it
Not really. Just read the explorer notes.
asking them to read is a tall ask
TAS Nerva looks like the barbaric tribes he's supposably is trying to uplift.
Dude does not look like a Roman general.
Kinda on consideration yeah but he’s definitely a cool character in that series lol
I’d say that’s understandable given how he’s stuck on an island away from the luxuries of Rome
But then Rockwell has his clothes completely intact.
Sure, but his design just looks more like what I'd imagine what's-his-name from Scorched Earth.
The leader of the slaver dudes.
Also, the Legion is a established power.
You're going to really argue that they don't have the equipment to make decent looking gear that doesn't look like rags?
Even if there isn't bronze on The Island, there's at least iron he can use for his chestplate.
Yeah. It’s like, the least of the shows issues, but it’s still a weird choice.
Not a fucking dino skull on his shoulder that would be out of taste in Rome, but also impractical compared to a literal metal shoulder pad.
WAIT
A fucking second.
He does have bronze armor.
Why the fuck doesn't he have a bronze shoulder pad then?
And he wears a fucking sabertooth skull for his helmet.
Not, you know.
Fucking bronze.
One good placed arrow can pierce through that bone helmet.
Now it’s an even weirder choice. The only way I could see that working is if he had a bronze shoulder piece underneath the skull
Don’t certain Romans wear lion pelts on their shoulder back then? It could be a reference to that in a way
Like with certain Roman gods like Hercules, he wore a lion pelt after killing a lion during his first labor
Just instead of say a sabertooth it’s just a raptor skull
Pelt, that's just fur.
Not a entire skull that makes you look barbaric.
There's a major design difference between pelt and a skeleton.
Heracles in certain depictions did wear the upper part of the head on his body. Certain other Roman’s in stories were also depicted doing the same im pretty sure
Heracles is also a fictional character. Not a real actual empire that existed.
I'm specifically going with the actual Roman Empire itself.
As said certain Roman’s may very well likely did that. Atleast in certain depictions
And there's a time and place for that.
But in an actual conquest, Nerva should be expected to use more practical and generally better gear.
I feel it’s beginning to be more of a nitpick thing
Like I personally think it could work for nerva a bit too brutish I feel for a Roman conqueror I will admit but to each their own
Nerva in the "animated series" is brutish.
We've seen him in the notes multiple times, and dude looks a lot more appropriate for his role.
That is a fair point, which in general is an issue for the animated series since they throw a lot of characterization out the window for the sake of making its own story which messes up the main one
Eh, Mei-Yin is mostly fine.
Her personality and design are pretty akin to the note versions.
TAS version just doesn't deserve the "Beast Queen" title yet.
Especially since Nerva for some reason had the giga and not her
Yeah bro what happened to rockwell
they just made him start evil. instead of having to wait multiple seasons for it lol
One could argue that's where the main enjoyment of Rockwell comes from.
Yeah
Also iirc Helena got some character development because she kinda blamed herself for Rockwell becoming like that
I think the main enjoyment is david tennant
thats true but that long of a game thats already known wouldn't really work the same way
There was enjoyment in his character before David was even cast for him.
especially with how long the animated series is taking to release lol
nah
I swear, I can't tell if you're fucking with me.
I don't know
Most people that enjoyed Rockwell enjoyed him long before David Tennant was cast as him. We had him for a total of one expansion, whereas Rockwell the character prior to Tennant existed from the island, scorched earth, abberation, and Gen 1.
i still kinda wish they reverted the gen 1 notes to not use David's voice
Tbf you can just turn the game volume off and read them.
Think he means when the CMC sounded deeper.
precisely, left that air of mystery to who the CMC was
maybe i'm misremembering, but the gen 1 glitches themselves don't make it clear that its Rockwell, maybe a few hints here or there but nothing crazy, it's only revealed during the CMC fight and ascension
Why didnt they do the boss teleporter ambush in the animated series
was looking forward to seeing that animated
waiting for Mei-Yin to return from the guardian arena to then ambush when she was weak
Because that happens near the end of The Islands plot?
but didnt they already do a boss fight in the show and get a tek bow
been a while since I watched though
They did the broodmother. Which in the notes was done offscreen by the iron brotherhood
oh ok was the mei yin ambush from the mon🔑 then
Yeah.
oh so we might see it then nice
but in the show Nerva has the giga not Mei yin 🤔
maybe she can still get one
Yeah, it's all kind of fucked up
It’s an adaption. Almost no adaption is one for one with the source material. Even Lord of the Rings changed some things to accommodate for being a movie
That's a bad excuse.
There's plenty of adaptations that at least follow the original source material without changing literally the entire narrative.
The only similarities between the notes and TAS is characters by name, and the fact they started on The Island.
Oh, I’m not excusing bad changes, I’m merely saying don’t go into adaptions expecting them to be 1 for 1.
Don't think either of us above where even remotely hinting that.
Yeah, there's gonna be changes.
But keep the same plot and character arcs, unless something is just objectively bad.
Do I necessarily need to collect all explorer notes to understand the lore? Or can I just fight the bosses and watch the cinematics and will it be good enough (I did NOT finish the game yet don’t spoil me pls)
If somebody could answer I’d be very happy
It depends what lore
Any map
Like your lore or the lore of the universe
(I play ascended btw I don’t like evolved)
Your lore meaning?
The greater narrative/universe, you will need the notes to understand the full context.
But isn’t it just biographies of animals or characters or short events that the Elina or something went through?
Without the notes, you'll just think the Corrupted creatures are weird zombie animals, and there's random ass Titans roaming the map.
The notes give further context of those.
The character you play as
Ah right
I’d say universe as that is the most important right?
Yeah
No, the notes are about the characters before you personal journey through the ARK's before you came along. And they write down different knowledge that we never get in-game because they actually live in the universe, so they can study shit and whatnot compared to us.
Right okay alright
Dossiers are specifically for the animals, and those are only important if you want to 100% understand completely everything.
But the explorer notes themselves (the ones about the survivors) are the ones you'll actually need to understand the grander universe.
If I may give a spoiler example.
DON’T no spoilers
I been spoiled my entire life enough with anything
Understandable.
I just want to be shocked
And I mean a lot of stuff
Endgame?
I only know that there’s bosses
4 in island and you have this rockwell guy who looks awful lol
And yeah idk anything else what the meaning is evhind them
And some zombie dino’s helping this guy
Actually that's the perfect example I can use without spoilering ARK's story.
Playing only the game to get lore is like just watching only the Avenger movies.
You can, but for the full context you'll want to watch the other connected MCU movies.
Also, not a spoiler. But do you know the chronological order of the maps?
Uh no I thinknislans first tho right then
Scorced earth
And then extinction and then aberration (I think)
Island?
Yeah.
It goes 'The Island, Scorched Earth, Aberration, Extinction, Lost Colony, Genesis 1-2.'
Reverse
Lost colony is paid tho on asa and genesis 1-2 is it comint for free to asa like the other maps?
Yeah, Gen1/2 will be free on ASA like the previous story maps.
Lost Colony will cost money because it's the first new official expansion since Gen2 back on ASE.
It will be required though if you want to play through the maps in chronological order.
Custom-ARK's/maps aren't canon. So don't worry about those.
Thought lost colony was after gen 1-2
Does astraeos have anything to dow itht he lore?
No
I also heard the lost colony and other stuff gives some nice in game benefits, but does astreos have the same thing or is just aesthetic difference?
Lost Colony is set between Extinction and Gen1.
Helping fill the gap ASE had an issue with those two maps being disconnected narratively with each other.
Spoilers ||LC is set on Arat Prime||
No, it's a fan made map like the other custom maps.
It's just the first fan made map to be officially paid.
But spoilers ||I thought arat prime was the planet the people remaining on the ship conquered after HLNA blew up the genesis ship?||
Spoilers ||Welcome to their new shitty naming convention.
"Arat Prime" is the launch station of the Genesis ship.
"Arat" is the ARK-2 planet they named after the launch site for the ship.||

Spoilers ||Which Arat Prime is also on the polar opposite side of Earth that Sanctuary is on.
So it'll be a post-Extinction Earth, with hopefully the crashed Aberration ARK nearby.||

Interesting
@bold dove @main mural do any of u how long the Genesis ship has been looking for Arat? Or how far it has travelled from Earth? Cant find anything on google
This cleared up so much confusion for me. ty
Yk that does make sense. Why would I not name my new home after my home, the place which used it last dying breath to save me
Same time the ARK's have been in orbit
Which is how long any idea?
No exact time. But if I recall, general consensus is centuries.
I thought the ship has covered billions of light years, because the speed of hyperdrive is much greater than lightspeed right? And the ship normally travels at lightspeed?
(Light years is a unit of distance in case anyone in the chat didn't know)
If the ARK's have been in orbit for centuries, the ship has too.
So we have no canon metric for how fast the ship goes?
Don't think so
Any number of "it jumps through X number of galaxies per night" or something
It doesn't jump through galaxies.
It stays in the Milky Way
Oh? What? Fr?
It's only 100,000 light years or across the milky way, consider the ship has been in orbit for a millenia at most;
That's a top speed of 100x the speed of light at best 💀
Pretty sure the thing itself doesn't move much
It travels via warp drives.
Which IRL is the only logistical way to go "faster then light" in heavy quotations.
How does the lost colony expansion fit into the lore
It's set on Arat Prime, the launch site of the Genesis ship. And it's chronologically set between Extinction and Gen1.
It’s an ark or set on earth?
Earth. Opposite side of it from Sanctuary.
it explain how we got into the genesis ship and what happend to mey in and dayana
and why helena made h lna
Ahh
Mei and Diana*
yeah my fault
Hmm makes sense
Why is some element purple (ex currupt dinos, ele veins, king titan) and some element blue (ex extinction dinos (gasbags, gachas, velo, owl, and mana), tek structures
For Tek, it's due to it being refined Element.
Raw Element is either purple or a cyan-like color (Gen2 crystals)
Element in its more natural state is purple like the Corruption. Though if I recall right, in theory the Element veins should be blue (which they do become after completing them) but for one internal decision or another, it's purple in the wild.
The blue on Extinction creatures is just Element. Basically no different then the Element veins themselves.
You can also get Element from red gem crystals in the volcano in Gen1, so honestly I just don't think Wildcard thought too much on the color inconsistencies.
Why is there a blue lady every time I load into ark
mmmm Homo Deus
What'd you just call me
That blue lady is a Homo Deus
She's also the chick in the cover art
The one riding the tek rex?
Indeed
Though that never actually happens in the story
Why is she nothing but a nervous system now
mmmm ze Transhumanist Artifact in ze arm
The specimen implant? Turned her into a bunch of veins and energy
Nah, but here's the TLDR
Incredible moderation here
She goes to Earth, she finds an Artifact, she puts it in her Implant
Then with a little bit of Transhuman tanning bed magic she becomes a Homo Deus
Bada bing bada boom welcome to your eternal suffering as a cosmic entity constrained by the restrictions of your own plane of existence
Sounds like it sucks
Yes
Yes it does
Why she do that to herself
Complete accident
Lol idiot

"There's a lady in my head, and she calls me studmuffin"
Imagine being strong enough to be restricted into your own plane of existence, but not being powerful enough to be able to do shit in it and create anything.
Like being a God, if all of the cool abilities of being one was restricted behind a higher paywall, and all you could afford was the room.
Smh can't even get a gaming chair in the void.
@unique osprey can u accept my friend req rq it wont let me pm
Currently debating with my buddies about who would win,ARK Raptors Vs JP/JW Raptors
I've personally got the ARK Raptors winning
animated series or game. And game lore or in game? Because In game it is impossible to scale. But in Series and especially lore the ark one wins.
Jurassic Park velociraptors are around the same height as a human.
Utah-Raptor Prime in ARK, is double the height of a human, and in turn the JP/W raptors.
In game lore
Not really gonna mention the animated series since it's just a different timeline
Yeah the Raptors in game lore did some crazy stuff. no competition.
Both raptors show extreme intelligence that their respective species would likely not exhibit IRL.
Both canonically can stealth hunt, and Wuzai (however you spell his name) dragged Mei-Yin away from her raging Giga, even though he himself was fatally wounded. Dragging her away until he bled out.
Both are really smart, but I don't see one being smarter then the other. They're both basically wild dogs inside of giant lizard bodies.
So I'd have to put my money on the ARK raptor, purely because it has a higher weight then the JP/W raptor.
In most cases in the wild, the bigger/heavier the animal is, the more likely it'll thrash over a smaller/lighter animal.
Nah wuzhui should have been in the animated series, a Relativity minor character with a solid ammount of characterization and genuinely vital for Mei Yin lore
He is in the poster, so I assume he's gonna be in part 2.
Just really, really fucking late for some reason of Mei-Yin doing any of her cool shit.
"Beast Queen" my ass, when you have basically no mounts.
The only thing the Raptors from JP seem to have is speed but that seems about it
JP raptors are comically smart, but so are ARK raptors.
I would give ARK Raptors a slight edge in intelligence since they show genuine compassion towards their owners
Gonna be honest. In most cases I'm gonna say ARK creatures win over their JP/W counterpart.
Jurassic Park's dinosaurs are about entertainment, and making something that resembles what we knew dinosaurs to look like. Yet are still dangerous, because ofc they are. They're wild animals.
ARK creatures on the other hand have been stuck rapidly breeding on deuterating ARK's that have such high standards for survival, that most animals on the ARK's now are borderline more monstrous and abominations then they are actual animals.
Didn't Blue in the second World movie not attack Owen when they reunited, even though Blue was now a mother? (which would've made her more aggressive towards outsiders)
The Giga just being able to walk is already Outrageous enough, not to mention that it runs at 35 mph
That seems to be the case,
Altough I don't think it really matters in a fight
Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Shit is more monsters then actual animals.
They're like the Tyrants from the Resident Evil series, but in prehistoric-animal forms instead of humanoid.
Don't forget how basically almost everyone of the large creatures can eat rockets to the face
First person also makes things look smaller then they actually seems.
So if you ever do compare creatures in ARK to the default male survivor (I think like 5,12foot tall) everything is just so titanic sized.
Even the ants that should be like, big, but not fucking cat-sized big are huge.
I'd argue that's more of an issue with gameplay.
Most aspects of what we see in-game in ARK are different in some way in-universe.
Yeah I've saw that myself when I was messing with the controlls once, megalodons are scarier for me just because of that
Agreed,Altought the line gets blurry when you have a healing machine pig, a Roaring chicken and a fight jet made out of meat and bones(tropeognathus)
Okay, so the rex in JP3 is around 5 meters tall.
The ARK rex is roughly 8 meters tall.
Poor Rexy.
Nah even ARK Spino can manhandle the verse,he'll I would argue it could beat the Mosasaur
You throw the ARK giga into JW and it'll turn into a bloodbath.
You don't need an animal that hunts for sports, when the animal is too pissed off to comprehend it's currently biting down on a family of trikes.
"My god, the Indo-rex hunts for sports"
My man, the ARK giga kills because it's just constantly pissed off.
God forbid it tries to bite a herd of Kentros
You see, that's why I don't take too much gameplay aspects as canon.
Now that I think about it, Rockwell basically did just turn himself into a RE tyrant
He really did.
Fucker is as ugly as one too.
get your ass kicked
turn into a monster
beat the hero
now what?
Honestly what if the survivor couldn't respawn and Rockwell killed us?
What's the next step
His goal was to somehow bring the Aberration ARK back to Earth, and form his own army to stop Corruption.
New Ab fight dialogue states this, as well with him offering The Survivor to help him.
Somehow makes more sense than the villains from RE
Average RE villains are just "we need more money!"
Rockwell actually wanted to save Earth. But in his own twisted view point.
Bringing aberration onto earth, imagine whatever few animals that remain seeing a friking Reaper queen burrow out of the ground
I have a problem. Now me and my freind have been trying for a few days to get access to the admin console as he has acess to but i dont and he is the owner of our non-dedicated ark survival server but we really can't figure out how to access that feature, it would be great to have some help. You are welcome to write privately.
So I've just looked onto some notes and due to some calculations using the square cube law I've estimated that The ARK Raptor could weight about 900kg to even a ton
Getting pounced would basically be game over for any JP raptor
Yerp.
There's official size charts for the JP raptors, and like I said, they're shy under the average human male height.
Soooooooo, the JP raptor being like 5,10-or so to a more like 7,10 raptor sounds like a unfair fight.
Grizzly bear vs a leopard basically.
One single neck bite, and the JP raptor is gonna get thrashed around like a Half-Life 2 ragdoll.
They would have a advantage in pack size but since they don't immediately swarm everything it's very likely the utahRaptors could just pick them off before they can captilize on their number advantage
I've found ARK raptor packs up to like five at a time.
So here's a thought for you, actually.
The JW raptor team got fucking stomped (outside of the one that just exploded from a rocket) from the indo-rex.
Blue was the only survivor, but that was because Rexy came into play in the fight, and then the Mosa stole the kill.
I would like to see that same fight, but with the ARK raptors that're like double the height of the average man.
I can see it going slightly better
ARK Raptors aren't on the same tier as Other higher tiers of ARK but they are basically JP Raptors on steroids, and the best part is that I doubt they would switch sides given how loyal they are
I can see them doing more to the indom
ARK animals are genetically perfected to be the most loyal animals once tamed.
So yeah, Indo-rex might be fucked.
And while not reaaaaaally stated. The fact that Wuzai survived against the Beast King's rage is probably a testament that the dude 'tried' to fight against a giga, but got so fatally wounded that he backed away to prioritize saving his master.
The fact he Problably tried to face off a pack of Direwolves or a Yutty and his carnos just to Defend Mei Yin just shows how much Aura he had
By the way what happened to Mei Yin giga after Gaius Ambushed them?
New Legion gunned it down.
Both how it was enraged in the first place, and how it was put down.
Man, I'm still so salty over them using the giga so early on.
And not even Mei's giga.
Also
Gaius being able to use a gun is more impressive than it seems, guns are more complicated than just point and shoot and for a guy who never saw anything like it that's impressive
Would've been so sick to have the Beast King be our first instance of a giga in TAS.
And see how everyone warns Mei-Yin, even her tames, that having that thing around is a bad fucking idea.
But her pride in thinking she can control it becomes her downfall after coming back from the Megapithicus fight.
Oh 100%.
Nerva was pretty damn smart in the notes.
Then they made him into a brute in TAS.
I hate that giga,it gets killed easily and basically just looks like a bigger rex, also Gaius being sad over his death really doesn't land, all we see it do is kill two rexes and that's it, it would be more effective if Gaius and the giga were allowed to have screentime together
You should be the lead writer for next season.
In Rockwell's own words. Nerva was a diplomatic man if you sent a messenger to him.
He just goes for the whole "burning down villages" tactic first with unknown civilizations, because in his mind, he thinks most people on The Island are barbarians and idiots.
So if you show that you have intelligence and are can be talked to. I can actually see that, like how he treated Rockwell, that he would just subjugate your village.
Stiiilll taking it over, so bad all around. But not unlikely that villages traded resources with him in turn that the village is under the New Legions control. With minimal to no casualties.
Also I've saw some of the the stuff about the megaraptor
Something tells me it's probably gonna get a debuff for being near a lot of other dinosaurs as probably a way to avoid players swarming servers with them, I hope this is true since it can breathe life into the creature to really make it stand out
Feel like it was because Part 1 was coming to an end, and they needed to close it off with something cool.
And since for, some unholy reason, they used the Broodmother so early into the show. They decided to pull a giga out of their ass.
Instead of....just keeping the Broodmother and the massacrer of the Iron Brotherhood to be Part 1's climax, and allowing the Giga to be a more near-the-end of the season type of high-stakes tension.
Because not long after that, the New Legion if I recall makes it to the Tek Cave with all of the keys.
Basically they pulled out their trump card too early, and wrote themselves in a corner to end off Part 1.
Or they unironically thought it was cool.
🤷
I think they can remedy this with the Carchar
Maybe show Gaius killing a rex on his own and offering it to a carchar
BUT instead of Gaius immediately turning the carchar into a weapon,he tries to bond with the thing and ends up growing attached to it
How would that fix the already existing issue?
The issue I mostly have with TAS is just pacing, and everything being out of whack order, when it doesn't benefit this new story.
it wouldn't
The series is to much of a dumpster fire to matter really
It's basically Hype moments and aura and no good writing meme
How long does it take to transfer a non-dedicated server to a dedicated server in Ark Survival?
not google and wrong channel
What the heck is the abberation bone angel?
A reference to a movie
No, it's only on ASA's Ab.
Don't remember. Just know someone pointed it out when Ab first came out on ASA, and Dollie commented on it if I recall. 🤷
Oh okay any cool easter eggs on lost island that i should know of? I found wilson only
Well, there's the obvious landscape of the map itself that's just a copy-and-paste of Tamrial from the Elder Scrolls series.
??? Realy? Never played elder scrolls
Checked google they are similiar but not the exact same like but yeah left side of lost island is very similiar to tamrial but right side of the lost island looks hella different
Generally the same shape.
And there's even a small village on the middle island.
Which in the Elder Scrolls series, is where the Imperial city is located.
But the bottom left part is missing on lost island and volcano biome looks different than tamrial
Hi, does anyone know if it's possible from Steam with an Xbox ARK friend?
Is it 2x
The Empty Man
@lean furnace
😀
I have a question for everyone that loves the ark lore/ark story. Me and a friend are making a unofficial server where the main goal is to help players learn the ark story and gain all the achievements, I was wondering what we could do to make the server more interesting and have a better player experience. We are thinking about having custom mods made for skins for the story characters but that’s all we can really think of we need some recommendations and ideas of how to make the server a better experience
ooo how are yall teaching the lore? im not a complete newbie but still new if that makes sense
As of right now we have a couple of videos from some YouTube creators that explain the lore in our discord we’re setting up and this Saturday we are doing a explorer note exploration event where the newest player leads us on an adventure of where they think explorer notes are
Unfortunately so far it’s just me and him in the discord and a couple of random players that aren’t in the discord but we would love for more players to join us. Something we are working on is maybe having a custom quest line for taming Dino’s so that people can collect that achievement as that’s another purpose for our cluster is to have a safe place for people to collect all of the achievements. But we are still working that out and will be in the future sometime. We’re marking this as ARK OFFICIAL STORY season 1 we aren’t sure when while will come but we are hoping to get the server worked out more as we progress through seasons
There's already one like that, to a degree.
I haven’t found one most of the ones I’ve found have no players I want to make a community out of it
I have a question about extinction, I can overlook the tidal locking since the arks repair the atmosphere and there are no oceans left but how could the earth go back to a faster spinning rate without killing everything after we finnish extinction.
I mean technically earth and most planets go towards tidal locking with their stars alteady so why would earth go back to the spinning rate it has now as if it was the “default”
It simply would just stay tidal locked to the sun, also why does Helena claim the sun is rising? It has been eternal day so it should be setting
Space magic.
Also in the lost colony animated teaser we can see trees, now I am wondering would the sunlight refected by the shattered moon be enough for photosynthesis? Is that also space magic?
Probably.
But we see foliage rapidly grow at the end of Ext, so likely to do something with the ARK's and the literal "reseed" protocl.
I guess that could be it, I don’t know a lot about the timeline of mei yin getting to arat prime and the ARK’s coming down
For you
what would be the possible effects of the corrupt element?
Like, if a human got Corrupted?
surely as another creature under the control of the element
I...don't get what you're trying to say.
Oh wait, my bad.
I mean, he would just be another corrupted being. I doubt there's anything remarkable about him in that case.
Don't worry, no problem
Yeah, humans would not be special in this case, and would get Corrupted as well.
Likely happened during The Collapse. And there's even the Corrupted Survivor skin to show what a Corrupted human would look like.
Likely reason why we don't see any in-game, is because outside of the ARK's, natural humans are extinct. And the Proto-ARK's (from what I know) don't produce homo-sapiens.
Outside of the jankiness that would come of having shitty human AI in the overworld.
Imagine the Corrupted Avatars from the CMC fight on Gen1, but worldwide on that map.
It's also possible that we won't see any in the gameplay because they wouldn't contribute much. Besides, for me, that gives Extinction a touch that I love, feeling like the only human in a world where they've become extinct (even though that's actually how it is in the lore).
Yes, and as I said, they wouldn't add much to the gameplay. They wouldn't be difficult to eliminate, nor would they have any special features. Maybe if they had, they'd add weapons or something similar, but I doubt it.
Yeah, if you're on a small server. Everyone being on Extinction does give a feel like the Tek Tribe had when arriving on Earth for the first time in the notes.
Yes, the only thing missing would be the constant attacks from corrupted dinosaurs and titans.
Can someone explain to me what are Alphas creatures supposed to be?
Some of my buddies theorize they are the pinacle of that specific creature, sound good but that only works on ASE, ASA redesign made them more unnatural
They can be a challenge that the overseer sets for the survivors of the arks
Just creatures Wildcard add as world mini-bosses before any actual thought in the story was added.
Not unlikely that they exist in-canon. (outside of their smoke effect)
But seeing how in the notes, when you defeat guardians, you get actual keys to open up the Tek Cave, not using the heads. I just think it's mostly a gameplay thing we need alpha trophies.
Ok so this is probably slightly a weird question but could someone explain to me who Nirva (idk if I spelled that right) really was? Aside from the fact he was like trying to kill everyone and died to Mei Yin…
"Nerva" was a Roman general before waking up on the The Island.
He woke up after somehow dying, and saw The Island (in his point of view) as barbaric and disordered.
So, he pulled out his inner Roman Empire, and started to conquer and form a new Roman Empire on The Island in the name of his gods. (a 'New' Legion if you will.)
He went after Mei, because throughout Mei-Yin's notes, she multiple times has been the only one fucking up Nerva's plans to a damaging amount. So she became a high target by the New Legion.
They tracked her down while she was doing the Megapithicus fight with Helena, and waited for her at the platform.
They ambushed her, and caused the Beast King (Mei's giga) to enter a rage mode, and kill a good portion of Nerva's troops, and basically all of Mei's tames outside of Wuizai.
Wuizai (however you spell his name) was Mei's first tame on The Island, and probably most treasured.
So when he bleed out and died from a mixture of getting away from the giga, and a pack of carnos. Mei got a 'little' bit pissed off and went into a blood-thirsty crusade for Nerva.
Nerva then finds out his entire existence is a lie, Mei stabs his with her sword. And they're both teleported to Aberration's surface.
Nerva's now dead body gets cwispified from the sun.
Ty for explaining cause I never really got who he was aside from the fact Mei Yin basically just said fuck your existence to him lol
Do we know anything about the corrupted king from arat prime, or the vampire? Is there a spot I can catch up on all that yet?
So far no
id guess that they are the older variants of the normal creatures and are stromger and have more knowledge but it definitely could be something else
does every ark have an overseer? if so why dont we fight them in like scorched earth for example? not really the best with lore and i havent found all explorer notes yet
Yes to every ARK.
And because Wildcard was lazy during that and didn't want to give us a second Tek Cave.
Nothing in the notes hints that guardians can allow you to ascend.
Only that they give Element, and keys for the Tek Cave of the ARK.
shame, i would've loved fighting an overseer on scorched earth instead of only manticore
have manticore be the boss before overseer would be nice
What’s an overseer in ark lore or even a boss, what do they add to the story ext ascension makes sense but the rest…
Also which yt channel is the best to learn abt the lore
Overseer's are AI's that help maintain/oversee the ARK they're stationed on.
NeddyTheNoodle is a great way to get into it, and our very own @mental basin is great for the more recent developments and further explanations into things

W promotion I’ll be checking it out
Does any know ragnorok lore?
Rag doesn't have any lore
It'a non-canonical like Center, Lost Island, Crystal Islaes, Fjourd, etc.
Alr, I mean it’s kinda cool with the structures and decaying temples, I think that’s kinda fun too explore. When I first played I thought there was lore too it lol
Wish Asa extinction added fire and lighting titans
Technically the desert titan is a lightning titan
Thank you🙏
Fair enough

what
If a Corrupted Dino (A Paracer specifically) ran into contact with a Barken (Ent-Based creatures that are basically "bionancers of nature" that can modify the bodies of animals/plants if dire.) Would the Barken be able to reverse the Corruption by using its floral manipulation to choke out/encapsulate the corrupted tissue and replace it with an organic structure that element cannot bond with? (For those wondering, this is for an animated series I'm making that will have ARK in it, and one of the scenes is with this scenario)
Asking because I want this scene to be accurate and I don't want to frustrate ARK fans.
Are Barken's like actual mythical creatures, or from a specific IP?
I made them myself
Okay, so basically just a tree-folk type of creature?
Spriggans from Elder Scrolls, more or less.
Pretty much
I don't got much art of them rn, but imagine them like 16 foot tall tree people
Just going off of what you described.
I'd argue "no, it can't".
Helena wasn't able to figure out any way to remove the Corruption without killing the animal.
Then there's the entirety of The Collapse.
Unless both the URE and Federation where just dumb, I'd imagine they attempted to make medications for the Corruption that went nowhere. And this would be using basically like 26th century Tek sci-fi bullshit that created the ARK's.
So if space magic can't heal or cure it, then I don't think Earth magic will.
Thing is, it isn't just the growths that's the issue. The Corruption changes the fundamental mental state of the animal as well.
It's basically the Rage virus from 28-Days-Later, but on crack. And mixed with the Protomelecular from The Expanse, and a bit of The Flood from Halo.
If there was a cure, the ARK's likely wouldn't had been made.
Hmmm
What if there was maybe like a way to postpone it, like maybe for just s couple minutes?
Then there's the issue that, even 'if' they could cure the animals.
The Corruption can just tidally lock the planet, and kill all of the magical tree monsters with dehydration.
Hold up, I think if I explain the plot of the series there might be a difference
Sure, but just saying.
Element can change shit on a subatomic level. And pratically break our known laws of how the universe is suppose to act.
Element is plot magic in ARK's lore
Also on the brink of just being objectively evil.
Basically.
If a CEO or the writer wants something cool, then Element can make it happen.
BRUH
ooooh
No way
Ctrl + Z
I'm on mobile😭
Ctrl + Z a few times to get your message b-oh.
RiP
Can I just DM it to you😭
Keyboard superiority. (jk)
Sure.
But I'll only be checking out what got it deleted, so you can send it here.
Alr
Ill try to explain it as simple as possible
Big bad evil multiverse man make planet with all universe. Big bad evil multiverse man then reduces element's powers slightly (which is canonical in the lore of the series, not ark obviously). Animals still get angry-purple virus, but planet says no. Earth also says no, cuz big bad multiverse man has very very very strong powers to change how reality itself works.
To put it simply
The series does not take place on the ARK's
Going to be completely honest, that was too simple. I don't really understand it.
LMAO
Okay, so BBEG made a planet...with all of the universe on it?
Or he made every planet, and the universe itself?
Neither does the ARK IP after Aberration.
It's like Mass Effect.
But no massive effects till the consequences of the third game.
Dawn of Death lore is very hard to go into, and I can't go into detail cuz spoiling. What I will say is that he now controls all the universes. He couldn't before
Or Halo 4 and 5 not being set on a Halo
But yes, he did make that planet... And it literally is like 500 times the size of our sun😭
He made Earth?
He actually didn't make any of the planets except for the Mega-planet
Nor any of the universes
Like I said, Dawn of Death lore is complicated 😭
The universe doesn't have a north.
*Nor
I hate auto correct
Okay, so....Mega-planet has your lore, and....ARK's lore on it?
Not ARK Lore, it has its own lore, the ARK's simply just got put onto it.
I'm trying to explain I'm so sry😭
....Every ARK?
Well, so all BBEG did was bring creatures, locations, and all of that stuff to the planet. BBEG hates humans, and the entire reason he brought ARK to Earth (as well as MineCraft, Half-Life, Star Wars... The list goes on😭) was so he could make an apocalypse for all the humans and goods to suffer. Some of the things he brought sided with him, some didn't. He didn't bring the ARK's themselves, just the inhabitants of them.
Feel like this breaks so many copyright infringement laws, but I'm not a lawyer.
Ive done my research, this series is fully legal
Probably falls under fair use.
Won't stop Disney from shutting it down, though.
They've shut down fair use fan projects before
Thats true
But, mainly because they were used for commercial use, weren't PG, or got money from them
Honestly though, good luck man.
Trying to figure out a way to balance multiple different IP's universes, that have their own rules, laws, etc, to their world building, and trying to make that fit into not one, but three other IP's universes is going to be a nightmare.
Ive spent a lot of time on this series, and I continue to do so
It's why I don't understand "would X-fictional characters beat Y-fictional characters" arguments.
There's so many different narrative visions, intentions, and rules the writers placed for their own universes.
where do yall think rockwell manor was located
In the unreleased test Explorer Notes which aren't considered canon, he lived on Herbie Island
But that was obv. retconned, now that's where the Painted Sharks reside
So likely somewhere in the south
A mountain maybe, since he flew to and fro on an Argy
In fact, I think Ned's choice of location was pretty smart
Ive heard alot of people guess cragg's island and far's peak
so what is the arks lore in the end_
Space rock crashes down on Earth.
Governments make Tek out of space rock.
Governments cause a global war that lasts a fuck load of years.
Turns out space rock is actually bad, and causes Corruption.
Governments create the Genesis ship and ARK's to preserve life.
Corruption kills all natural life on Earth.
Few centuries later, events of the notes happen, then later on the game itself.
wow
Don't forget that the same corruption starts creating Kaijus
Question about the lore
When we kill the guardians how are they not already dead from the other survivors killing them (Helena ect.) I understand rockwell but not the overseer on the island cause if they killed it how do we also need too
We don't actually kill the Overseer, we prove our metal against it
We don't kill it
Also, Helena never killed or even encountered an Overseer.
Nerva and the New Legion already disabled the ARK's Overseer by the time Helena and Mei found them.
Also, Ab Rockwell if I recall right has the same rules as an Overseer.
He's more or less using the same system to be infinitely brought back that the stations previous Overseer had.
Something interesting to analyze
How many crimes has Edmund Rockwell committed?
Like, just morally or actual IRL crimes?
Because the latter would be hard to determine, since every nation has different laws.
We could use both, since Rockwell isn't exactly a god, he's the closest thing to a demon in Ark. And I remember it being said that Rockwell was from England, I think. Although, well, each state has its own laws.
Eh, arguably if you're able to create life. You're kind of a pseudo-god.
Also he's from like 18th century England, so laws would be a bit different in that time then modern England. And I ain't going to do research for the laws back then.
So, we'll just go with morality.
that seems fine to me
-First morally questionable thing he does/states is in his notes, he comes to regret declining the Legions trade of using slave/non-willing subjects. Due to willing subjects becoming harder and harder to come by.
-Second would be when he thinks of the upmost worse aspects of Helena, one of his closest friends at that point, just because she was working with Mei-Yin, and was learning more about the ARK then he was.
Instead of questioning if he's on the wrong side, due to his friend working with someone that opposes the New Legion. He doubles down and decides to one-way destroy his friendship of how many months/years he had with Helena, due to all of that. (showing his egotistical side)
-Third would be to steal an artifact some cult were worshipping. Though one can argue that he needed it to get off of the ARK, and the people likely weren't willing to give it away. He was kind of an ass in his notes if I recall, calling them idiots for worshipping it.
-Fourth would be working with the Rising Phoenix clan, gaining their trust, help deliver a baby (a human of no sin yet) and poisoning the entire village, likely including the baby he just helped delivered.
-Fifth would be when he started to directly experiment on animals immorally by infecting a shinehorn with liquid Element, creating a monster.
-Sixth would be when he injected himself to become a god, and killed an entire village that previously was friendly to him, and helped him out. (including Diana)
-Seventh would be when we're fighting him, and he tries to defame Helena's image to make himself look better.
-Probably a few more during the events of Lost Colony.
-Ninth would be when he gets onto the Genesis ship, and causes the awakened residence of the ship to slowly become either mad, or just flat out kill them off.
-Tenth would be literally destroying an entire ecosystem and turned into his playground.
-Eleventh would be corrupting people in the Genesis simulation.
There's probably more, but I was running out of characters.
There's also the killing of Boris (the fifth university student). And as for the baby, I think he left it there to die.
Oooh, yeah. I forgor Boris
The baby either ate some of the poisoned food. (it was the food Rockwell poisoned)
Or yeah, everyone died and the baby was left to likely starve.
Summary:
Rockwell is a real demon
Rockwell is more of a corrupt God.
More like Zeus.
Rockwell could have been a god, in truth, Peter Fries himself declared that he was going to become a metaphysical being
Oh?
When did he say that?
Must've been awhile ago, because I remember last time I checked. His accounted was closed on Twitter.
I have the image, but I can't send it
You can in my dm's.
It was a private conversation with a fan if I'm not mistaken.
Okay
Was it Stel?
I don't know, I just have images of Pete Fries' statements there
And yes, I have more statements from Peter Fries
Yeah, if I recall. People kept correcting him about the ARK lore, so he privated his account.
@mental basin Might be misremembering, but Stel would probably know.
Might've been indirect with him making his account private.
Hm?
Did he tell the story wrong or why was he corrected?
Wasn't the reason Peter Fries made his Twitter account private, was due to people constantly correcting him of ARK lore? Or am I misremembering?
I do remember people like Red, and I think you as well constantly correcting or asking him questions.
Don't think he was telling the story wrong.
Just an average instance of a new writer being put in charge, and so not having the same creative vision the previous one had. So people in-tuned with the writing point out either mistakes, or question things.
Oh. Understand
There's a lot of people to this day that don't like Emil Pagliarulo's way of writing.
does any one wants to join my valgeuro world
Third worst map in Ark history.
Feel like this is a hot take.
Not even. 👍
Guys which do you think was the better idea: the Genesis Project, or the Ark Project?
Both, because they served the same goals, with different executions.
Val was a mid map
i would argue the genesis project is better, solely because it was working fine before Rockwell came along. Where as the ARK's would never have reseeded Earth without the very specific set of circumstances that happened happen, relying on the Earth's corruption going down on its own
Wondering if they will actually put new tekgrams into it. Seems likely it will have a new boss.
i just hope they dont release gen 2 that killed the game
Nah gen 2 is already there since launch as you can see it from the engrams list.
Good question
Both projects are about preserving the human race and preventing extinction. However, I'd say Project ARK would be better because its goal is to stop the Element, which we already know is dangerous. Project Genesis seeks to escape corruption, not stop it.
Yet the Genesis ship actually finished its job without intervention, unlike the ARK's.
So that's where I'm more leaning that "both are good, for different reasons"
ARK's where great to attempt to restore life on Earth, but the URE didn't have the foresight to realize that Corruption can't just die off naturally.
Genesis ship was a great attempt to find a new home at the cost of leaving Earth, not only due to the Corruption, but as a backup system in case the ARK's failed. (which we saw that they did, before intervention)
We need to wait for ark2 to see if the survivors don't f up Arat too
Would be hard to, if you're talking about with Element
Quoting from the new community crunch:
“Beneath the frozen wastes of Arat Prime, the true cost of Element becomes impossible to ignore. Figures stalk the city, their wills bent and their bodies reshaped into living weapons. When you set foot in this forgotten city of Arat Prime in December, you'll discover that some things are worse than extinction... and not everything that walks still breathes.”
"some things are worse than Extinction"
-Ext literally has the trust cost of Element.
-Corruption are glorified alienfied 28-Days-Layer zombies.
Just sounds like Corruption 2.0 to me.
Pretty much. It very much sounds just like a tagline thing.
That aside, I do quite like the new corruption look. It looks far more… intentional, if that makes sense? Like, I could see these being part of some kind of army in Arat Prime.
So we discussing the new corrupted designs which are seemingly outside the city?
Might be faction based like how they brought it up.
I disagree, the concept is majorly flawed due to them not taking into account how element/corruption acts. It’s a hive mind that keeps growing and evolving making the system on the arks get tricked to thinking humanity isn’t ready. An endless loop of testing and suffering is caused thanks to this oversight
The Genesis ship is WAY better in my opinion but having humans be an invasive species with literal dinosaurs is a real bad idea too sooooo
So if anything, i look at it as “Both sides suck”
Big theory about the new "zombified enemies" :
These are humans/Dinos that fused with melted elements or are victims of Rockwell's experimentation after falling near Arat Prime, because as far as we saw, this "vampiric faction" use mostly black and red as a color, even their vampire hybrid have this color, and those zombies are more of a purplelish pink, wich is pretty similar to rockwell main color, and one big reason it could work is because we will probably see Rockwell in lost colony, but maybe as a secondary vilain for once, and as far as we know Rockwell experiments are mostly nasty looking
But that's just a theory
But also corrupted veilwyn will be funny and annoying
Or maybe thats one of his evos
The vampiric faction are presumably called the Thrall atleast the vampires themselves are called that anyway
How likely is it that Lost Colony has Rockwell in it?
He's already confirmed.
Actually?
Mhm
Thank God. I love his character so much and it sucks that he died
The wonders you can do with pre-sequels.
I wonder if he'll talk in it or just be a background thing
Doubt they would even bother adding him if they didn't have voice lines for him.
Pretty sure Tennant is already credited at the end of the LC's trailers.
Oh yeah true. He probably won't be the boss though unless he runs away instead of dying when you defeat him
Unless they do some fucky shit.
The narrative demands him to survive for the events of Genesis, so he can actually get killed off.
He ran away before he died in aberration so he'll probably do the same thing
How overconfident does someone have to be to the point that they're almost killed 3 times and still think they'll win 😭
We technically don't ever "kill" him, if I recall.
First fight would be on Ab, which the ARK just forcefully makes him retreat, as it does with Overseers, once it deems you cool enough.
Second would be LC, which is to-be-determined.
Third is in the simulation, which is just a digital avatar.
Fourth would finally be Rockwell Prime, which he does actually die during the artifical sun blowing up.
No way he gets wrecked on multiple times and is still confident every time 😂
Yeah, if anything. With how many times we've wooped his ass, I'm hoping they make the Gen2 Rockwell lines more malding over the fact we're still alive. And chasing his ass still.
Why? Is it Canon that the survivor you play as in arat the same one as genesis?
He kind of does back on ASE Gen2.
But it's still left abigouous if the Genesis Survivor is the ARK Survivor.
So if LC confirms that we're the same survivor throughout the maps, then I think they should double down on him being pissed on Gen2.
Up for interpretation back on ASE, but they might confirm it on ASA.
They've been slightly retconning stuff anyway, so I wouldn't be surprised if they did finally just confirm we're the same survivor
Maybe we somehow ascend to the ship at the ending
Peter Fries has stated that's an option years ago.
Basically, back on ASE's canon.
Genesis Survivor is either a new survivor that woke up in the simulation, or they're the same ARK Survivor that went to Arat Prime, after Rockwell, and uploaded themselves to the super liminal uplink behind Rockwell to chase after them.
So they're proooooobably going to just rip off the band-aid and have it that the ARK Survivor 'is' just flat out the Genesis Survivor.
Unless they do a weird multi-ending system. Which I doubt they will
Also based on the lost colony trailer, do you think Helena is actually alive in ark 2 or was it just an advertisement choice?
The ARK-2 sections of the LC trailers, I don't see 'not' being canon.
There's no reason Helena would be dead, she's a Homo-Deus now. And if I recall, it took a LOOONG time for the older ones to fissle out over time. So she may have a few years, decades, or even centuries left.
Don't know why though she looks normal, and not that ghostly-like form we've always seen her as.
Maybe she somehow respawned
Since rockwell is defeated and the arks are back on earth she has no point to be a homo deus
Doubtful.
Every other Homo-Deus would've then, because being a Homo-Deus is fucking hell.
She's 100% not human. Because she just came out of thin air in the trailer, the moment the camera panned across a tree.
I was gonna say that if she respawned then there's a chance rockwell could of as well
But as a human
On arat
Rockwell has a better chance of becoming human again, then Helena does. I feel like.
I'm kind of 50/50 on it, personally.
On one hand, you can handle some form of pseudo-redemption arc for him.
Would be hard though narratively to not have him just instantly executed on the spot in a believable manner.
Because, unless they just dump all of the blame of Rockwell onto Element, which is bullshit. Dude was unhinged beforehand, then it'd be 'pretty' hard to convince people who know Rockwell not to just either kill him, or put him in jail for life.
But on the other hand, his story arc at the end of Gen2 came full circle, and was a perfect closure for the man that took the fires of heaven, just because he was afraid of death.
I mean he killed everyone who knew all the bad he's done
Assuming Santiago somehow regains his ARK memories.
Huh aren't all memories of survivors kept in logs they explain it in extinction
When the survivors enters the ark his DNA all that he knew is sent to it life system
Bro she is just a force ghost now xd
Just without the blue hue
You forgot the grad students
At least one died to direct intervention and the rest of them indirect since he controlled ab
So a question for some Lore Folks... Cause I've been talking about this with a friend-
Are Bulbdogs Mammals, Amphibians, Fish, or Reptiles?
Yes
I kinda wanna say they're Amphibians-
anyone know where aquatica fits into the storyline maps
would it be after gen 2 and you land on another ark after the eplosion on gen2 ship or wha
It doesn't.
It isn't canon.
Also, how would that be possible when, at the end of Gen2. You're in the butt-fuck of nowhere in the galaxy on a new planet humanity has never been on?
Snail Game moment.
fair point and who knows a ark that got swept away from earth ended up out there
That's not how that would work, but sure.
I think when it first was announced they mentioned it was going to be, but thats long since changed
I want to know why some people are complaining about the zombies in the community crunch. Do they know what the corrupted dinos were in lore for extinction?
Unfortunately, most people don’t actually read the explorer notes
They just use them as a way to level up quickly.
Tourists that complain.
Same people who say "why is there sci-fi shit in my dinosaur game!" even though we've had floating metal spires since day-one.
Don't need to read the explorer notes to see the Corrupted creatures are physically decaying, and have their organs (in a PG way) exposed.
Just tourists with room temperature IQ's that probably had a soyjak expression when ASE got new content. (Aquatica)
This is the fourth time zombie-like shit has happened.
We had the Corruption.
Corrupted Avatars.
Mutated Survivors in the Rockwell Prime fight. (also the gross infected things that the Summoners spawn in)
And now the Left 4 Dead rejects. (which I am all for.)
Ngl the new ones look like the voteless without their masks
I like that you can see some of them wearing armor. It gives the impression that, while they are corrupted, they’re aware enough to have some form of military and hierarchy
Rockwell's Private military
Eh, not necessarily.
The armor looks fused onto them. Like the growths formed around the armor.
Oh, that’s even cooler
Zombies I can understand. Vampires though, that feels too far fetched for Ark
Not really. Ark has played with genetic modifications since the Island, so there’s nothing saying they couldn’t modify humans into the type of thralls we see in the trailer.
- diseases exist and corruptibg stuff like element exist so i wouldnt be surürised if an experiment went awol and mutated to became airborne to spread faster
Ngl I wonder how the funny worm from helldivers 2 would do versus the titans from extinction
You kill that with guns and rockets. In ark guns and rockets do literally nothing. So it probably wouldn't do anything to them
That sadly has nothing to do with what I'm talking about xd
Also the Tek rifle is a pretty good weapon
You're also forgetting the mek's attachments too like the cannon and the rocket pods. A good rocket pod attachment can actually solo gamma King titan
-My 12-gauge shotgun soloing most shit.
Are we talking in-canon, or gameplay wise?
For the 1v1
Just talking about gameplay since the stuff in ark actually does something and isn't a peashooter like that guys says but what about my original post@bold dove
I get that it's possible, but I still feel the idea is too much
