He was locked into the main boss arena where we faced him via HLNA and he had his overseer immortality broken when aberration crashed down on earth during the reseed protocol
Brought back by tek and genetic analysis. Basically, they created a spawn system for plants , animals , and humans .
So there’s 0 chances for Rockwell to make a come back now, he’s forever dead unless they pull the screw us card and we got a secondary clone on Arat that’s back to being pure like he was on the island
(to be fair, he wasn't ever pure. But never murdered anyone pre-Scorched)
Which I actually wouldn’t mind if he was just our medicine shop guy
Is arat the new planet earth
It's just a new planet
Well… he did indulge in human experimentation on the island if I recall
Wait so all the ark lore antagonist came from one slip up
By bringing Rockwell to aberration
Element addict
And called the New Legion the "right side of history"
And traded some gigantopithicuses for an unexperimented soup. Using that as an excuse to experiment on them without that group knowing.
Well he wasn’t even experimenting, he just duped them for the gigantopithicus
Santiago said it was just literally digging up bones and scanning the genes of it . He said people wouldn’t like the idea of them doing from Santiago note 6 on gen 2
No, was a win-win for him in both regards.
I've been rereading through the note for a project for a friend, and while the main goal was to just get the gigantopithicuses. He also uses the trade as an excuse to figure out if his new soup will work or not. "I guess if they come back, I'll know they didn't get any migraines or anything"
So I would honestly say Rockwell hard a really warped sense of right from wrong since he was already getting too into his research but it really crashed hard when he got a hold of a fragment of hard element on scorched/seen the starlight sanctuary on the island
But alas it was Helena who brought up the engramic matrix if I recall correctly.
I feel as if that’s more of what digging up the bones and scanning them is
Rockwell is basically just the average researcher in his time.
Using science and the sake of progress as an excuse to unethically experiment on other lifeforms. With other humans sometimes slapped into them. Because "fuck it, we ball" was basically the motto back in the Victorian era with research.
I know what it is.
Originally, it was caused by element corruption and pollution on earth.
Rockwell is the best example of those late 1800s/early 1900s Victorian era of scientists and anthropologists who formulated a series of ideas of racial superiority and using questionable/unethical means of scientific research.
In this case, he thought he could be the superior being by consuming element after seeing what it could do to a shinehorn.
Thanxs
Okay, to be fair.
If he didn't go bat shit insane, and actually used "TEK" instead of injecting himself with raw Element. He could've done some real good with the technology.
Why didn’t the humans after getting element build space ships and go to other planets
That's what the Genesis-ship is literally doing
What do you mean 'before?'
Not before
Oh, you mean expand nations civilizations onto other planets
He had a good track record with making inventions that actually were interesting like the charge lamp and plant species Z. Both of which impressed the tek tribe heavily on aberration so I can definitely see Rockwell doing some wonders with tek
Like u know the type 2 civilisations
Yeah, good question.
Out of all things in the ARK IP. It does make little to no sense why with such technologies, they never bothered terraforming something like Mars or shit as a backup.
That kind of stuff with the fancy stuff
I feel they just didn’t realize the element pollution was an actual thing
That's not the question
I mean the devs were just adding on the lore and story
I don’t know if they had an entire story wen they first published ase
Misunderstood the comment my bad
Basically, they're asking "if we're trying to go to Mars now, with our shitty technology compared to Tek. Why did NO ONE think of ever colonizing another planet in our solar system?"
And yeah, that does make no sense. Because the first thing nations would 100% fucking do if they get any form of that technology would be a space race 2.0. Because the moment Earth isn't the only colony with humans on it. It becomes REAAAAAAL easy to push the big red button to nuke a nation on Earth, when you have a backup planet
But honestly, humanity in these kinds of situations are always dumb
ikr
Speak for yourself.
Mr cringewell
What will the Lost colony thing be on ark
Is it a new map adding on the story or just a dlc add on similar to ragnorojk
It’s definitely a story map
Takes place after extinction but before genesis
And the likely location of this map being on Arat prime (the launch station where the Genesis ship took off from if I recall)
Explorer notes weren’t added until patch 248 (October 21,2016).
ASE was released on June 2, 2015 on Steam.
We don't know. But the little minute amount of hints we have is that it'll be set on Arat Prime.
Basically, the expansion could be set between Extinction and Genesis-1, where we, The Survivor, go to the opposite end of Earth from where Extinction was set on to go to Arat Prime.
Arat Prime is the lauch site of the Genesis ship, and where Aberration crashed for Rockwell to slither his way over there and transfer his consciousness to the Genesis ship. Causing the events of Genesis 1-2
Did aberrration crash on extinsion
We don’t know, just like with ark 2 .
👍
It crashed on earth yes
On the place Extinction is set? No
But if you mean Earth? Yes
Well we kinda know, it’s definitely arat prime due to the cold nature of the area since Arat prime was on the dark side of each which was region locked and it was so cold there it was snowing constantly
It took off the same time the ARK's went into orbit.
What happened to the arms
Arms?
The arks just remained in orbit above earth until the reseed protocol happened
Oh, they landed back on Earth. Seen in the ending of Extinction. They released their EMP blast to wipe out all the Corruption on Earth, and reseed life back on it
But after the reseed protocol they’re purpose now is to keep the corruption from ever spreading, aka, earth is safe and corruption free
Only thing that doesn’t make sense is what the boss will be since reseed takes place after the luminal link is turned on to upload Helena ( and then HLNA ) to genesis simulation.
I have my own speculations
But not a “ titan “
All the titans were destroyed due to the emp wave
Some Ali express titan from the new planet
Creatures like the titans that have corruption in them likely dont exist anymore
Prolly another titan is my guess to rule that side , or corrupted survivors.
Wait I know who it will be
My guess is a element infused Mei yin
Vin diesel
Mei yin and Diana are long gone since Helena and HLNA mentioned “long ago survivors …” in their respective explorer notes.
Santiago dead as well ?
Or a corrupted Mek powered by a corrupted Mei yin.
Off topic, but a shower thought I had when I first saw the reveal.
The logo's for official story maps always hint towards the theme of said map.
So, what the fuck is that logo?
Because it almost looks like Tek. But like a new type of Tek.
To me, it's either two things.
A: Tek that wasn't fully destroyed due to it being near Aberration, and Aberration could've gave off a half-ass blast. Making the Tek go almost into a rogue-like state that it's currently malfunctioning, and possibly even mutating.
B: Since the logo dethawed out from the ice itself, I wonder if instead this could be some proto-Tek type of shit.
Like, Arat Prime wasn't just the launch site. But also possibly Site-Zero for the Element meteor, and the first research/production site to ever create a form of Tek. And so the Tek looks more angry, and alive looking since the Element in it isn't fully dead. Unlike the current, more refined Tek that the Element is fully dead within it, and looks more sleek.
We aren’t sure about that, Mei and Diana definitely reached Arat prime after they finished their notes and likely entered cryo sleep for when the reseed protocol to happen so they can help humanity get their bearings but end up waking up to Rockwell at their front door
Did the original “ tek engineers “ aka Santiago Diana people
It was mentioned element arrived on a meteor so it could be likely that the Genesis ship was made in the heart of the crash sight where they had the most element at ease of access
Yeah, it defiantly just seems like a new type of Tek.
Because not only does the design look a bit different, but we've yet to anything in-game for Tek that the energy/LED's are red by default.
We had light purple which is tied to unstable/raw element, dark purple and black which is corrupted and blue which is refined
This red element could be a ‘subspecies’ of element since it’s rather alive actually
The only connection Rockwell could have to arat prime is the luminal link. The link connects to the genesis ship and the arks.
When the link is turned on by them , it’s evident he hijacks it since Nina noticed HLNA and the corruption of code in the genesis simulation .
So an essence of Helena and Rockwell were on the ship.
He just couldn’t physically manifest .
Because he left his old body behind
Rockwell definitely transferred through the link to reach the ship since he begun to physically corrupt the ship once he formed a new body
Hints why he looks different in Gen2, because he had to rebuild his body from scratch, and from rewriting the Tek on the ship on a atomic level to become part of him.
Because it said he can take on a different form if he wants
He’s just an element infused blob
The real curious thing, will his old body actually be still active or is it just a empty husk
In genesis he gets googly eyes
Yup both Gabriel and Nida saw all the tumors and tendrils growing all over the corrupted side .
It’s probably just gone or in his blob somewhere
Empty husk.
Wildcard doesn't seem to be leaning the SOMA rought, and more to the fact that souls actually exist. Which would be tied to his consciousness.
Body *
I would agree but if the aberration ark actually still has his code then he could likely duplicate himself somehow and he can still kinda exist to a certain extent but likely not
Again, not if they fully take the soul rought.
Can't duplicate a soul.
He would be considered corrupted by the reseed protocol when the ark lands on earth.
Depends how far the reseed protocol reaches per ARK.
Because since Aberration is....fucking dead. 💀
This could mean that Arat Prime is the only place left that can't be touched by the reseed protocol.
That....wait a minute.
That could actually be the plotline of why we'd be heading over there, and needing to activate some localized/prototype version of the reseed protocol that would only cover that region. Only to discover Rockwell is alive at the end, and being forced to follow him onto the ship.....
Fuck
I think I figured out the plot.

Did the genesis ship completely blow up
Just the corrupted half.
Oh
Wouldnt make sense to turn something on twice.
Who’s him
Being forced to follow him on to the gen ship
Is Rockwell stuck in the ship
Because he is the ship
the entire ship broke apart and burned up in atmosphere except the Eden Ring
Just means shadowmanes won’t be in ark 2 . They fuggin dead.
If there is any ARK 2 that is
So what’s your name referring to regarding the characters ?
the possible retconning of the OG note lore for TAS one despite WC claimed to be "non-canon" yet they shoehorn those in anyways
Not cannon until in the base game .
TAS is in a separate timeline of its own.
yet there is a potential to make them canon
Well Diana is officially mother and Mei yin is most likely long gone . Same for Diana. They both ascended to the after life.
There is your ship.
it's worse writing i'd say
They already killed off John when he was supposed to have a relationship with Raia who he was supposed to mold into a stronger survivor on SE.
That’s a bigger violation than what’s going on with Mei x Diana since they just told a quarter of the explorer notes on SE to get thrown away.
That alone shows the TAS is on its own timeline.
that's what made her stronger
Yup, hence he never meets Raia on SE, unless he spawns in a bs way like how bob does .
Raia's Backstory is an intentional tragic that mold once timid and peaceful priest to the Wyvern Queen of SE, i have no notes for it
VS
the actual violation that retconned the most organic relationship that molded Mei from social outcast to willingness to help save the world in favor of "ooh btw we bang off screen, so we are a ship now" without substancial context
where you getting the fact they didn't meet?
He gets killed during his fight with nerva in TAS .
tas is different continuity
john in TAS is not the same as john in SE
the one in TAS is "Thunder Comes Charging" a mentor(?) of John in SE
why would he want to be called John is just lazy, the reason why John in SE is named "John" because he is a bandit and he wants to change his name to hide his past
The relationship with Mei pretty much happened in the past and she is not mentioned again in gen 1 and gen 2 unless true tales + lost colony brings her back up again.
True tales is just being used as a plot device to get people to MAYBE be somewhat interested in Ark 2.
because Mei doesnt exist in Gen 1 and 2 lmao? where that "info" come from
True tales isn't even out that's just pure speculation
“Everyone” gets brought up at one point in the genesis 1 explorer notes by HLNA .
Mei yin only has her own on island , aberration, and extinction .
she was never name dropped in the gen chronicles, if that is what you are talking about
HLNA said "her friends" but never named one due to amnesia nature of HLNA
The Mei and Diana relationship basically concluded at Arat Prime.
So whatever happened there, the story writers are trying to move Diana along and keep Mei separated from her .
Mei is one of the only humans to have never died when she first spawned.
Remember just a speculation.
You try to make this point a lot but it is an absolute nothing burger
Nothing is gettign retconned
As been stated multiple times by devs for the past 2 years
None of the original ARK lore is getting retconned by The Animated Series
Adding a new plot element doesn't equal a retcon by any means
The Animated Series is in no way shape or form considered canonical, it just introduces basic characters and plot points which have been newly introduced to the ARK story, which for the most part are additive, rather than 'retconning' any existing lore
just because they said "ooh it's not canon, don't worry" doesnt mean they can just slowly shoe in because TAS is more marketable than the OG lore
A shoehorn isn't a retcon
And they can do whatever they want with the story, they're the writers
Yes they are heavily pushing TAS, but none of the newly-introduced TAS plot elements to the main story have broken ARK lore as we know it
that doesnt mean it's "good writing" tho
What about any of the Animated Series elements are poorly written in the game story

riddle me this, why would diana be meeka's "mother" out of freaking nowhere? that is a huge red flag
That isn't an Animated Series element, nor is that a retcon
i find it sus but ok
Bi people exist
and?
lmao forgot the "S" word is censored
This is also how explicitly good writing works
A plot twist which seems out of left-field, which makes you rethink the current prenotioned context of any given situation
The censorship rules here seem quite a bit more strict than the last time I was here, unsurprisingly
not really like where, how and when? where is that happening? where is the relationship context of all this?
making the "relationship" part off screen is just lazy
if said Diana is in Gen ship, where the hecc is she and why HLNA did not pick up on this, given HLNA is part of the system?
"not really like where, how and when? where is that happening? where is the relationship context of all this?"
That's the entire point, those are the questions the reveal is supposed to get you asking
All of these questions have answers, and we're meant to uncover them in Bob's True Tales / ARK II
This also still isn't an Animated Series plot element

Right now it is, we've had a larger influx of some truly horrible comments, so just be patient with us pls
I completely understand lol, you've done well to survive the horde so far
it's fine, the convo moved so quickly and i have to redo my replies accordingly
Sorry xd hopefully it'll be back to somewhat normal soon
Thank you in the lore channel for being so calm
the rules of a good debate is target the argument, not the person
Regardless, the reveal of Diana specifically isn't bad
Nor is it a retcon of any sort
It is simply newly introduced lore, which has, believe it or not, been foreshadowed since even as early as Aberration
I could get into all the specific instances, but I'd rather focus on the fact that this doesn't really prove your point
hm? WYM "foreshadowed"
Santiago and Diana are quite close in the Explorer Notes, Diana mentions wanting to kiss him quite a few times
She is extremely affectionate towards him at several points in the story, as is Santiago to her
If you wish to argue her affection for Mei-Yin as well, I once again turn you to the fact that Bi people exist, and multiple-relationships isn't a foreign aspect of the ARK story, seeing as Mei-Yin was also a romantic interest to Helena
That, and Helena getting all kissy-smoochy with Mei-Yin a good week after her wife died in The Animated Series
If you aren't buying what I'm selling, I emplore you to reread all the Diana / Santiago Notes we have in ASE alone with the idea that a version of Diana is the mother to Meeka. A lot will be revealed.
i doubt on the Mei and Helena part given there is no attractiveness between then it's more mutual acquaintanceship than anything, hell Mei is more dead set of "i want to go home" or "i will have my revenge" than "oh this weird poop watcher is hot"
for Diana and Santiago... freaking when?, for what i recall they are more respectable than romantic
I will also just throw this tidbit out here:
The version of Diana and Santiago that had Meeka aren't the ones that were on the ARKs, if it isn't apparent already. Meeka was conceived on Earth, and was thus uploaded to the Engram Bank. So this version of Diana wouldn't even have known Mei-Yin Li.
"i doubt on the Mei and Helena part given there is no attractiveness between then it's more mutual acquaintanceship than anything"
Extinction Epilogue begs to differ, as does The Animated Series
And yet again, I emplore you to reread the Diana / Santiago Notes with the fact that a version of them had conceived Meeka in the distant past.
You recall incorrectly. At least, with the new information we've been given. Whatever interpertations we had in the past have since been invalidated.
I mean, whether or not you do or do not understand said implications doesn't invalidate the undisputable fact that their result is now considered bona-fide canon.

We aren’t actually sure if it’s a clone or the same one from extinction. I doubt it’s a clone since people like Diana shouldn’t likely have a secondary clone. Only 1 possibly. The reason Santiago has 2 is due to how important he was during the tek war and he was the core reason it stopped to begin with
Best guess is that extinction Diana clone took the luminal link to Genesis but Mei yin didn’t.
Prolly some bs happened and Mei yin didn’t go and Mei ends up being corrupted and being the boss of Arat prime.
There would otherwise be no reason to go to Arat prime if Rockwell is already on genesis.
Helena senses this and tells you to put Mei to rest.
Either she got corrupted or she was killed by Rockwell
Rockwell wouldn’t have influence over the corrupted element when it’s controlled by the king titan.
He even states in his Boss battle on aberration of trying to usurp the king titan . Otherwise he would’ve manifested on earth first instead on genesis.
But alas it is a possibility.
There is a likely possibility that the corruption still remains at Arat prime due to the aberration ark being broken so likely no pulse to reach that sector so we gotta head there to Arat prime and deal with the root of the problem while also dealing with Rockwell
And in that time we find out either Mei is dead or infected and we gotta put her down
But wouldn’t it be like thousands of years later when they’re both long dead Helena herself said it’s been so long since she and her friends came here and it took a long time to practice bringing bodies back to life which for a timeless being would be a really long time
Without taking into consideration any in-game stat, what would be the actual strongest canon boss into the game?
Because for me it’s clearly between the King Titan and Rockwel Prime.
I don’t take into account rockwel aberration because I believe he is limited by the Ark.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again as a personal theory, Arat prime likely has human cryo chambers to let Mei and Diana go into stasis for those years and come out like they haven’t aged a bit when the reseed protocol happens
If we ignore them I’d say it would go to the overseer itself maybe. The overseer had the direct fear of nuking the entire new legion tribe in the notes (this is more in terms of normal bosses btw, this ignores Rockwell, Rockwell prime and the king titan)
King Titan, for sure.
Not only is he apparently larger in-canon then what we see in-game. But it was him and the formation of the other titans that finally killed off the rest of Earth's population that hadn't already died from Corrupted creatures.
I'd argue actually that Rockwell Prime is physically weaker then Ab Rockwell.
Mostly because Rockwell Prime's main strategy is a 'command and conquer' to convert the ship into himself as fast as he can, while possibly straining any of his forces/power.
Aberration Rockwell on the other hand is not only half the size of the in-game King Titan, larger then Prime. But also has been sitting in a pool of Element for God-Knows-How-Long, to the point his body adapted to it and now has constant veins/pipes chugging the Element directly into him.
Also Prime looks like a frail old man that Rockwell actually is that's stuck to a chair.
Ab Rockwell is swoll as FUCK, and his tentacles seemingly are both larger and more powerful.
At least personally, it seems like when he transferred his consciousness to the ship and created a new body. His new strategy was quantity of control over quality of actually safe guarding what he'll control.
Oh yeah I forgot about cryos and it’s especially likely because that’s what they use for gen survivors
Someone in here kept trying to say that’s impossible when the genesis has those very chambers as well and the tek pods also exist which were also on extinction as shown with the pod that made Helena ascend fully, not the right ‘programming’ for it but I imagine there’s a version at Arat prime that had cryo people. Like they do exist but the guy kept saying it’s impossible when I feel it’s atleast possible
We actually can be sure considering one plot point
The clones, at least physically, are all based off of a person at their latest point in life, usually before a premature death
Using the Engrammic Matrix of a person's brain is what allows you to make a clone, therefore considering the fact that Meeka was never conceived on the ARKs, and is instead in the Genesis / ARK Engram Archives, it is directly implied that Meeka came into existence well before the ARKs, likely near, or sometime before, the collapse of Earth
Which would mean that the version of Meeka's mother may not even be a clone, but could instead be the original Diana. It'a a confusing web I know, but such is the nature of ARK lore.
Where’s ark 2?
I don’t think Meeka came from the original, the original died during the war and presumably most of humanity only has 1 clone, the exception being Santiago having 2 since one was made during the genesis ship creation to help out with everything while the other was made for the ark tests for the reseed protocol. That and I don’t feel as if meeka would consider Santiago as a good man since Diana and Santiago were on opposite sides and were against each other during the war. But that’s just me
Whether or not Meeka came from the original doesn't particularily change her timeline, seeing as she'd still be from around the end times, which infers that either the original Santiago, or San2iago had her with some form of Diana.
And Santiago has 3 clones that we know of so far. Gen2iago, Ab/Extiago, and ARKIIiago. ARKIIiago is the interesting one, since it's implied that he still has knowledge of his time on the ARKs, despite appearing to be a clone of Gen2iago. But I digress.
And Meeka wouldn't have any thoughts about either of them, seeing as she died too young to have formed any memories that stuck through her Matrix.
Seeing as, verbatim, she directly claims to have no knowledge of Earth outside of the stories Santiago would tell her on Arat.
Ark 2 Santiago is the same one as the gen 2 one, they’re not different clones.
They are different clones because Gen2iago was turned into hyper-plasma by Yongki. That doesn't mean they can't retain their memories, it just means they're in a different body.
Key reason why is because he says “respawned again” referring to the constant simulation replay he had when yunki blew himself up repeatedly
That's not at all why he said that
Bob's Tall Tales spoilers, just in case anyone else steps in:
||According to Bob, Santiago's nomenclature 'Respawning' refers to being re-cloned after death. I.e, Diana being brought back on Extinction, himself being brought back on the Gen-Ship, etc.||
Now that is just weird as hell in general to add that
It would of just been more simple to have the Santiago for ark 2 be the same exact one that got blown up by yunki but just fully respawned but carried those same memories from the past and not some third clone.
Sounds backwards but just making it a third direct clone to me is just weird. I know it’s likely every revive is likely a clone but I feel it’s just a direct revive of that person and not some additional clone. Does it make sense? Probably not but that’s my own personal thinking before that nugget of info was said
Well, don't get confused by the semantics, ARKIIiago is Gen2iago, he's just a clone of Gen2iago
I'm not saying they're a different 'snapshot' of Santiago, what I mean is that ARKIIiago's a clone who was brought back hundreds, if not thousands of years after Gen2iago's death
It would appear that he has the same memories, and it would also appear that he, to some extent, has Ab/Extiago's memories somehow
Which is a mystery in and of itself
Having him be a direct clone just adds a bit too much to me, just make him the exact same one but revived there’s no issue with that
Okay now this is just confusing to me, did the luminal link transfer the remains of Santiago over to genesis to make some weird hybrid Santiago or something? Lol
Well, the 'revival' and 'cloning' process is the same thing, it's just mildly convoluted since for whatever reason the writers like bringing old characters back repeatedly
Instead of making new ones

Calling it now, it's probably some soul/DNA memory type of shit they'll get into.
While the ARK-2 Santiago wouldn't have any memories Ab/Ext version, they could still remember some stuff due to the soul being passed onto a new clone.
Idk about that. The Santiago on the genesis ship had his memories warped so I feel that wouldn’t really make him… ‘him’ so to speak
The aberration one I’d say is more of a direct clone or should I say a ‘pure’ clone with every fiber of data to a T and not manipulated (minus the implant but that’s a whole other thing)
That kind of all depends on your philosophy of what makes you, you.
If altering memories is all it takes to make you not you anymore. Then in that perspective, Alzheimer patients aren't themselves anymore as their memories and brain slowly degrades.
Here's a rough timeline:
Original Santiago exists, and helps the Feddies in the war.
He dies, and later gets cloned to work on the Genesis-Ship. (Clone count: 1)
He dies again, because Yongki blows him up.
Hundreds of years later, Santiago cloned on Aberration. He has no memory of Genesis, and is assumed to be a younger version of himself. (Clone count: 2)
This Santiago makes it to Earth, and sacrifices himself to the Titans.
Sometime later during the ending of Genesis 2, Gen-Ship Santiago is cloned, with the memories of himself on the ship. He also has, or will go on to have, the memories from his time on the ARKs. (Clone count: 3)
Well with Alzheimer’s that’s a direct thing of someone losing memories, not memories changing/purposefully being rewritten.
If someone purposefully rewrites your life to your own understanding but it’s just your memories being warped would that make you, ‘you’
Again, depends on how they handle this. Assuming they do go down the soul rought.
They could make it that, while the biological brain is what the person will directly remember/know, AKA and alterations to their perspective on reality. Any and all actual experiences/memories could be fully tied to the soul itself.
Yes, it would. Because all we are, are just neurons and a brain controlling a body.
A consciousness is more then likely, just the byproduct of a intelligent brain understanding more of their perspective on reality.
All memories serve to our brains/us is allowing the remembrance of previous traumatic encounters to avoid them in the future for self preservation.
If the engramic neurons are changed, but nothing else is via the persons DNA. Then they're still themselves, just with a new consciousness and perspective on reality.
There's been cases of people surviving gunshot wounds directly in the brain, and they all usually either become paralyzed, or phycologicaly altered in the way they act permanently. Some being documented as "being a whole new person."
In cases like that, then yes. That person is no longer their previous selves, because their brain/them has been altered so much that, they might have the same memories, but their personalities have completely been altered.
I'd argue memories are the last thing that would make a person.
If someone cloned you 1:1, with your memories and how you act. Would they be truly you?
On a genetic level, sure they're 100% you.
But they where just born. They never actually experienced any hardship you yourself went through, they never actually felt what love is yet. All they have are memories of another animals experience on what love and trauma is like.
Sounds like hell
I was gonna say someone about star killer but the theory is he's not even a clone in the second game nor is it even canon no nvm lol
It was for that Santiago, it was his own torture unintentionally when someone was trying to figure out what yunki said in his final moments
Trying to get into the lores of ark, can you please explain what element is. Like where did it come from? Why its so strong and etc. Thanks bro!
Meteor from space, somewhere in the 22nd to 23rd century.
Basically a reality warping metal that can do anything.
It's also alive, and a hivemind.
most isn't in the hivemind
it was the corruption from the element war that woke it up.
Element originates from space. It made its way to Earth on a stray meteor. The old writer claims this is probably because said meteor was seeking intelligent species across the cosmos (seeing as it is sentient in some way, shape or form), but this isn't elaborated at all in the Explorer Notes.
It's insanely strong, generates unmatched power, and can come in a lot of forms. Solid, liquid, gas, ore, shards, etc. As you can see ingame. Extraordinarily adaptable.
Refined Element is fine to use in regulated amounts over time, but when overused, it can be detrimental. Anytime Element is used, it shoots spores into the air, which take root in the soil and regrow into the veins we see on Extinction, on a much smaller scale.
Due to the Element War of the 23rd century, Element proliferation made the planet uninhabitable, due to its overbearing presence on ecosystems worldwide. Sometime after the war, right before the very end of the world, said proliferation became a corruption.
You know me
The singlehandedly most knowledgable person on ARK lore out there (I am mentally diseased)
The only difference between me and Fries?
I actually read the Notes.
Talking about that.
You've probably seen me talk in here a few times without saying anything.
Do you think I'm anywhere near as knowledgeable as you, or would you consider yourself leagues above more knowledgeable?
You misinterpert a lot of the deeper plot elements, but you seem to have an relatively high understanding of ARK lore as a whole past the surface level.
I'll take that.
I don't know anything. I look at the wiki when I read here 😂
Oh God never look at the wiki
no
The wiki is editable by anyone, and usually is edited by people who don't even have a basic surface level understanding of the story
Which is why I used to go in daily and edit the pages

just like any wiki, thats a good thing. fixes happen and not just left in due to one person controlling everything.
a bunch of people collectively fact checking each other is better then one person trying to fact check themselves.
Oh no, that I don't deny. The ARK wiki being community-oriented, like any other wiki, can just be a double-edged sword at times.
The fact that there are two almost-identical Wikis doesn't help, either.
they can't delete the fandom wiki but it sucks and is full of ads. so they moved to wiki.gg
I remember when they changed
It wouldn't be so bad if the wiki.gg appeared at the top in relevant searches
But it's usually the fandom one that pops up first 😔
again not something they can control. fandom shows first because its used on pages and interacted more. just how the search engines work. (unless you are an ad)

Find it funny that twice now, they forgot to give the King Titan his scar
Aye, so looking at the new KT in the devkit
Not sure if it's in the original, but did you ever notice that you can slightly see the original skin of the KT on some spots of the mecha one?
Likes like the mecha King Titan has corruption growths over the original body.
Oooh yeah, looking in the ASE Devkit and see that he's just one giant corruption node in ASE
So that means they have it in ASA that some spots on the Mecha King Titan still have remnants of the original King Titan's skin
Elemnt thought nahh i dont need to cover these spots since the chances that these lead to my extinction will be low.
But all in one i like the lore and notes so far. Bobs notes are also n8ce gives me a nice laugh sometimes
Well, to be fair. Element probably can't go extinction at the rate it has already spread throughout the galaxy.
Unless they pull a Halo, and create giant-ass super weapons that can do what the ARK's do, but on a galactic level.
100%
Or thanos gauntlet
Eh, a Halo like structure would be cooler
Yeah safe like a map on such a thibg would be also interesting to like idk to try and stop the hivemind
But i also cant wait for the new lore map that hopefully is pure ice so that my cheap sitting polster will be more thab a skinned thatch base
I wonder what Lost Colony is going to be like
Like, obviously it’ll be icy, but with the logo reveal being made of tek and under the ice, I’m guessing an underground city of some kind?
Take a guess who the boss most likely is (less likely Rockwell):
I’m going to say, big mutated creature that’s controlled by Rockwell, or one he made, like the Shadowmane
Yup. Right on the money . 🗿
Maybe a 2layered map and surface which has insane temperatures below the freezing point and will kill ya if not prepared and the underground city
That’s what I’m thinking. Probably a launch site for the colony ship somewhere as well, either on the map, or in the distance as part of the skybox
I was thinking Arat was a mega compound/tek city so it could have a giant above ground portion and multiple underground portions aswell
Both sounds nice i would love a map cold and death were life struggles to find a way
I have a picture in my head of what it could look very snowy post apocalyptic city/station that has underground city/places aswell and cold can play a big part
They theoretically would just use extinction and genesis assets to form the map basically.
All this sandstone is everywhere 🫥
Well if they built the genesis ship in there there has to be some big place with underground elements where they made it.
So we got confirmation on twitter that lost colony is between extinction and genesis and it directly follows Mei Yins story after extinction (along side diana) so it’s definitely involving Mei yin
I don't think that was ever debated
I'm not too sure how the supposed 'anime cinematics' are gonna work into it lol
If those are gonna replace the explorer notes, I'm not gonna be too happy cause I really prefer the classic explorer note structure to ark's story
It was just a teaser trailer
“In this new frozen world, players follow in the footsteps of legendary Ark survivor Mei Yin, on a soul-searching quest deep into the chilling heart of darkness,” Studio Wildcard says. “Featuring cinema-grade anime story sequences from legendary Japanese studio MAPPA, Lost Colony bridges the gap between Ark: Extinction, Genesis, and leads into the events of Ark 2.”
From a PCgamesN article
I don't trust that unless it's on a steam page
But mappa makes banger anime
Yeah but I don't really think it fits well with Ark
Someone in here kept arguing Mei yin wouldn’t be possible at all
I'm already not a huge fan of the BBT cinematics
Where was this stated?
Just to get the source to show to others
I’ll send it to ya in dms
I can't send links in here 😭
Let me real quick grab it
DM's exist
That's watever
Thanks!
I'm just so curious how the story sequences will work
Best case scenario would be notes and flashback anime sequences
No problem
So it does seem like we're getting Black Myth: Wukong-style notes
Where they're animated.
They're by Mappa, so they got to be expensive
Oh definitely
Also, no fucking wonder why the artstyle looked better and more detailed then TAS.
And the style, it would be cool if they were sorta animated in the artstyle of the drawings in Mei Yin's other notes
Wasn’t mappa the ones who also did the dead space animated movie?
I think?
I know they did Attack on Titan
Also, holy fuck that's old
If that’s the case we are in for a fricken treat
I love that animated movie so much
Wait really?
I liked it, until the ending. Where the budget started to run out
Not sure if it is but the art style looks similar
True
They went too hard with it
To clarify I’m talking about the Dead space movie that was a prequel before DS1 not the one before DS2
Mostly just the fact that they cut the cool monster that was suppose to die in the reactor, connecting it to the game and why Issac needs to fix it.
And the random ass ghost moment that they didn't have time to fully explain that, that was in fact the Marker fucking with What's-Her-Names mind to send an SOS out for more hosts.
Yeah, the 2D animated one. Not the 3D one
But either way, I’m curious to see how hard they cook with the animated notes
Gonna look sick tho
How old since mappa isn't that old of a company only 13 years old
Yeah I was just looking that up and was about to text that
Attack on titan yuri on ice Jjk ect
The same fucking studio that did The Simpsons and King of the Hill. 💀
The animation style is hella similar tho
King of the hill is goated
Wouldn’t doubt someone from film Roman went to Mappa
Imagine if the final cutscene looked like it was from attack on titan
Most of mappa are ex madhouse employees
Madhouse huh? Hm peculiar
The fact wildcard has the money for these animators is crazy
The fact mappa can make 3 or more shows a year and still apparently make The lost colony cutscenes is crazy
Both of these are crazy
and then we get in mappa style ark melons or other stuff for others
Do you think (within a decades time) the other notes will get animated as well?
“First canonical story expansion.”
“Follow footsteps of Mei yin “
So I’m assuming based on the first statement there will be more expansions that’s not genesis.
Bro imagine if Ark 2 isn’t actually a seperate game but they just put it into ark ascended XD the Ark 2 content is just paid dlc
Perhaps. It was mentioned to have Ark 2 have a combat style that is seen in RPG/ soulsborne games.
At least that’s what I’ve seen kept being brought up back when ark 2 was kinda relevant .
Gonna be honest, I vibe with this new dlc if it will actually clear up the Mei yin going off with Diana but then somehow having a kid with Santiago thing. Still find that a weird change to the lore.
The aberration tall tale did mention Mei, Diana and Santiago having some weird love triangle going on so it was foreshadowed
Gonna be honest, im still going off ASE older lore and havnt looked at what they have changed with ASA till now. Dont remember there being a love triangle before, thats is new right?
Can we get MAPPA to animate the show now that they’re doing cutscenes🙏🏻
Lol
Fr mappa animated goes hard
Mappa animated cutscenes is a very nice Christmas present
Throw in Helena and you've got a strange homogenous love square that'll make all the lore nerds across the community pissed
No plot points were changed
Seeing as the Diana who had Meeka is different from the one on the ARKs
It would seem that it was the original Diana who had Meeka
So Mei-Diana are safe as a couple. Santiago-Diana are just versions of themselves at a different time where Mei-Yin was long dead, and not around.
This, by extension, makes Diana our resident 'Bi Queen'.
Aaah thank you, it's been a while since I've freshed up on the lore. Also yes she is 100% the bi queen
I just wonder how that'll be handled.
If Santiago is Meeka's biological father during the Tek-War, then that means it was probably a secret relationship to make sure they don't get in trouble.
Though if Santiago is her adopted father. That might mean that Diana and Santiago where thing somewhat recently in the timeline.
Also, was it ever stated if Diana is even her biological mother, or just "her mother?"
I feel like it's pretty obviously implied that Diana is Meeka's biological mother. That's the whole surprise.
That's fair
Not sure if anyone had this suggestion for the next DLC Lost Colony, but i remember when Raasclark interviewed the heads of Wildcard, they hinted to the new DLC would aim to be a challenge, even to experienced players. Is it really just cold temps. I think there maybe more to it then just that. Listening to some of the One Who Waits notes, i believe note 8 on Extinction, she tells you that the ability to revive will be lost when the planet is re-seeded as it will need all the energy in the system to do that. Along with us losing our implant at the end, could this new DLC take respawning away from the player or at least make that the default on public servers on a very hard map. Lore wise, i believe that would be correct. Gameplay wise, im sure many would not be happy. But like what the heads said, they want the player to feel like they are being hunted and no better way to do that then risking all your levels to go get that new tame. Just a thought.
Though, I guess it may be up in the air still if Santiago is her biological father or not. Right?
Either they'll pull something out of their asses to make respawning a thing on Arat Prime. Or just say "fuck it" and make it that respawning just for this map isn't canon.
Death will be a game mechanic, non-canonical when it happens, unless stated otherwise.
I think narratively, it has ran its course and we should allow the respawn protocol to rest.
Actually allow us to feel something if a character gets killed off, and not just clone them for the fifth time.
Respawning in Gen 1 for example, is explicitly stated to be canon, since your 'Survivor' there is just a digital version of yourself.
Respawning in Gen 2 is technically canon, as implied by the new writer on Twitter, but it's highly dubious, since he doesn't really elaborate on it nor is it stated in the Explorer Notes.
The best we got from Fries, the writer, is that "Well Helena had to have had something with it." Which isn't elaborated on, at all. So I personally just treat it as a game mechanic there.
I guess it could still have respawning and explain it as the aberration ark never re-seeded the area and allowing its respawning to still function.
I think it's safe to safe it isn't canon on Gen2, and Fries just wanted it to seem like he thought of something for it. When in reality, he forgor.
Depending on how far Arat Prime is to Aberration.
I know it crashed near it, but what is "near" relative to an entire ARK?
I assume we'll be able to see it in the skybox.
Well if its not close enough, wouldnt the purging of element from other arks near it also kill rockwell. I would think it would be close to it so rockwell can reach it. That is my guess.
True.
Hope we get the space elevator Extinction originally promised us.
aren't the hiveminds immune to the arks? thats the entire reason they didn't drop lol.
"give us" apparently.
The fuck!?!
probably was being spammed
It's not the hiveminds specifically. It's the overabundance of Element corruption which would overpower the function of the Reseed Protocol.
It's like trying to disinfect an entire dirty counter with a single drop of spray cleaner.
It ain't gonna work out so well.
I would not put the hive mind of rockwell at the same level that the king titan had. The goal was to take the king titan out.
I don't think it's 100% stated how the hivemind works?
Like, not sure if it's the Flood from Halo, where if all Flood dies the hivemind will still exist until a new Flood form is created. Or if it's like the Reapers from Mass Effect where, once every single one is killed, the entire hivemind/collective consciousness is eradicated.
didn't rockwell become the new core to the hivemind?
Rockwell is not connected to the hivemind in any way shape or form.
He's kinda got his own dealio goin' on
wasn't it talking to him lol.
Yes and no
Think the hivemind itself was just taking advantage of Rockwell's obsession. Making him think he was important to it.
That is, incorrect
does X mean yes or no
Element in and of itself was 'reaching out' to him, but that's not a Hivemind thing, that's just Element itself and how it works. It was never really a good thing.
It's... kind of confusing.
I love Element lore
Oh, right. It's specifically Corruption that's a hivemind currently. Correct?
things aren't flat out said so its probably up to interpretation.
maybe we'll know more with the new DLC tho
Element is something that can induce insanity, kind of like medevial kings with mercury. Just like mercury, it is very delusion-inducing. The only difference is that it's not 'all in one's head', the delusions are very much so real, and is the Element directly reaching out to someone in order to cause them.
Well, at least in terms of hivemind, there is evidence directly going against him having ties to the Corruption hivemind.
which ones?
Wait, so correct me if I'm wrong SteL.
So Element and Corruption, while they come from one another are different.
Element wants to spread, but doesn't care how/why it does and just wants to spread. Usually by manipulating others.
Corruption though is full of malice and hatred, and wants to destroy/kill all life, and by doing so spreads itself.
He does have his own, much weaker control over Element-related Creatures, such as the Nameless and Reapers of Aberration. Partially because they are tied together with liquid Element, and partially because he's the ARK's Overseer.
His boss dialogue on Aberration, which directly has him stating that his goal is to irradicate the Titans, and by extension, the Corruption.
Also the fact that he has free will.
maybe he wants to take control, they would be over him. or it hasn't taken full control yet
Nay
Though, it's seen on Genesis: Part One that he has the ability to induce Corruption if he so chooses. It simply has no hold over him.
are there other humans that are corrupted? that could just be a human trait.
It'd be really funny if they redid that scene.
I still feel like that was just reused assets, due to possibly being rushed. And instead we'll see in ASA Gen1 that survivor turn into a Corrupted Survivor from Gen2, instead of Corruption.
And arguably the type of Corruption we see in that Ascension is a direct contradiction to his character, induced by the devs not wanting to give said Corruption a different effect, just like in the Extinction Ascension where they use the Homo Deus effect in a context (digitalizing of the Survivor) which makes zero sense, but if I want to talk about that we'll be here for years
Also, Stel. Is this wrong?
Whaddya mean?
Since the arks come back to re-seed earth at the end, before rockwell lands, we would have to think any kind of hivemind that existed would have been killed off enough to allow the process to start. So rockwell making a dash for the link to the genesis ship, i think shows he was now alone and at risk if he stayed.
outside of genesis are there humans that were corrupted that we see in notes and stuff
could just be humans have "free will" and are only kinda controlled.
Oh, I think I understand. We don't see any Corrupted Humans on Extinction, but HLN-A herself states that it is a possibility in one of her Genesis Chronicles. We also know what a Corrupted Survivor would look like, seeing as we get a skin for it from the Extinction Chronicles.
As much as it isn't canon. Pretty sure Wildcard thought otherwise with the Corrupted human skin
I wouldn't want hundreds of arks worth of bobs running and attacking when 1 did him in 😂
Said Corrupted Humans are indeed, a part of the hivemind, and have no free will.
thats part of earth hivemind or what rockwell did?
because I knew rockwell did it to the simulation people.
It'e pretty easy to tell whether or not something is considered part of the greater 'Corruption Hivemind', as they all share the same black-purple nodes spreading across their body.
We probably don't see them on Extinction due to all humans being extinct on Earth, and there being no respawning for non-ARK humans on Earth.
Rockwell's Corrupted Survivors are different than the ones we would see as a part of the Corruption Hivemind. At least in their final form, as we see them in the bossfight.
They obey him, seeing as, like I said, he has a much weaker psuedo-hivemind he has them tied to.
It's needlessly complex lmao
do we know if its weaker on genesis? aberration ones (you said nameless and reapers) weren't made by him.
while the stuff on genesis were.
Basically from what I understand. Rockwell has his own pseudo hivemind that has no connection to Corruption.
I get that part but what would then make it weaker besides it not being earth-like corruption. he fully controls them no?
I mean weaker in terms of scale.
The Corruption had an entire planet, and whole Titans, whereas Rockwell had only one ARK. And on that ARK, he could only control the heavily Element-poisoned stuff, like the Nameless and Reapers. Rockwell's hivemind grew in power on the Genesis-Ship, seeing as he had an entire ring, but even then it still wasn't enough to rival the Corruption.
If he had succeeded in taking over Arat, his corruption may have been able to go toe-to-toe with the actual Element Corruption.
Rockwell is a victim of circumstance lol
I'd say it'd make him weaker in the sense that his hivemind has lower numbers then Corruption.
okay weaker because he didn't have the space lol.
Pretty much, he was never able to achieve the scale of the Element Corruption hivemind
Wait, so Rockwell was fully in control then. Right?
In control of what? The Creatures, the Homonculous?
everything fleshy on genesis
Himself.
Wait, so am I controlled by Rockwell?
that'd be basically impossible to gauge. him controlling himself or thinking himself in control 🤷
thats why you start in a tin can (tek suit)
Oh, yeah lol. Most all of the fleshy bits are controlled by himself. Stuff like the Microphages and Seekers appear to operate independently though, for the most part. That isn't to say that he can't control them, he just has no need to considering the fact that they are quite literally part of his super auto-immune system.
Wait, so am I essentially tuna to Rockwell?
Okay, so every fucking crime against humanity is his own doing, correct? 💀
spam

He also has some control over the Shadowmanes, Noglins, anythign he himself made on Genesis. Same deal as his auto-immune system. They can operate independently and have their own free will, until Rockwell says otherwise. Hence why we can break them to our own wills.
Le Rockwell Hivemind
I think the corruption that element causes, allows for a hivemind for it to spread. On earth it created the king titan and others to fight for its survival. It corrupts living creatures to make them serve its survival. While Rockwell on the other hand used this hivemind for his own purpose and the corruption of element allowed it as it also serves for its own survival still. In the end i dont think the corruption of element needs a host or be connected with the hivemind on earth, it is on its own has one goal and that is to spread and survive.
Bingo, spot-on.
Okay, so hypothetically then. Could he had genuinely used his powers for the betterment of humanity without becoming a monster that mutates people without their permission?

I mean kind of, maybe
He still had that Element twinge in his brain
But Element crazies doesn't equal Element Corruption
Refer back to the Mercury analogy
Right.
Though, I feel like some people have have different tolerances to Element's influence, just like Mercury. No?
Some people may be harder for it to manipulate then others.
Yessiree
like us. we are immune and put it in custom recipes
(probably a game feature)
Me slaughtering all humans on earth after eating my element dust burger
Probably why we, The Survivor, can go down to the depths of Aberration without feeling anything.
Outside of gameplay reasons, we can literally fucking just eat Element burgers and be near the Element rivers without any influence.
Refined Element in small doses is fiiine
Just don't go shooting up the stuff and you'll (probably) live

I wonder what Element dust tastes like
probably metallic.
Would blow your brains to shit
You don't eat it, you snort it
So good?
If I had to guess it'd taste like eating metal dust
But tingly and warm, as described in the Notes
Would probably be indescribably calorie-dense as well, taking into consideration real world science
Element bulk arc
Swolewell
would be a question if you'd even process it.
Imagine if Element crashed into modern day U.S.
It wouldn't be used for resources.
It wouldn't be used for cool technology.
We'd refine it, make it into a dust, and deep fry with it.
H A M B U G A
might just go through and nothing happens.
Immune system automatically shuts down and you turn into a vegetable or something lol
Salt 2.0
Make a drink custom recipe full of element to go with the element burgor
Hamburger, hamburger, big mac whopper.
Alright I gotta get back to script writing, see you all later
I still wonder what this new DLC will do to explain the lack of implant and if they still have respawning. I would hope to see it explained since they did not change the cut scene at the end of Extinction. I guess we could be a diff survivor to deal with that threat and still have an implant. Or they could go crazy and not have respawning for just this DLC, risking your levels if you die lol. Or maybe you just lose all your XP to the next level.
If it’s after reseed, then respawning is technically is no longer possible. All the survivors and animals landing on the planet in the Arks have the goal of repopulating.
Or maybe the implant on the skeleton in the trailer is the rest of our genesis survivors 😱
Maybe Helena just cheats and sets up a respawn system for survivors specifically in the radius of Arat Prime
Mei-Yin can bring gigas into boss fights, why can't Helena make respawns 😉 it's jokes don't fight me lore nerdz 😂
Mei-Yin is using creative mode😔
When you have made it from the island, to earth, and then to Arat Prime with just one life, i think getting a giga into a boss fight is nothing.
I think it’s really funny that literally none of the homo deus prior to Helena had the thought “hey, why don’t we just give the survivors infinite chances?”
Paleo giga she is usibg xd
Mei is literally "made of cheat codes"
Well, seems like in the end now both Santiagos are the same, atleast that’s what I see after seeing Bob tall tales Extintion.
Im just having too much brain damage at this point.
Mei yin RUINED it for us. She’s the reason we can’t bring gigas into boss fights
And I know it’s silly lol, but there is something I hate about Bob Tall Tales and it’s that it completely erases our own path in Ark.
I know it’s a way that the devs summarise the story from 1000 notes into 30 and with drawings.
But a mention to, hey this guy in the group finished the job we didn’t!
Starting to think we were left to roam the space after Genesis 2, because I believe the rest of humanity would know of our actions as well.
If Bob true tales try to steal our journey as Santiago’s journey I’m gonna kite a corrupted wyvern to Wildcard offices. 😂😂😂
Im SORRY, but it was us survivors who scaped the simulation and killed once and for all Rockwell.
Santiago just woke up when Rockwell was no more.
I don't think BTT is going to take the place of our survivors adventures. Bobs stories have been too detailed to be 1000's of years removed from our experiences in game.
Clearly not gonna be about us, but about Santiago and Bob.
Still I don’t think removing us from the equation is good.
How do you think we're being removed?
Bob true tales, which the name already explains, that these ones aren’t made up by Bob but actually lived by them must explain Genesis lore.
But if they woke up after Rockwell death, what story are they gonna tell?
I think it's safe to assume that the story present in those DLCs are all going to be the histories of those events before we as the players experience them.
So to me it seems like “oh yeah, Santiago and me totally destroyed both the AI master controller and Rockwell”
Arks story is rife with instances of history repeating itself
And to be honest with you, for as much as I'm otherwise a stickler for following the lore of settings I like, whatever gets us closer to Ark II the better
The thing is, Santiago (Santiago Extintion, or Santiago Bob Tales) woke up after the ship exploded, and you could only be outside in the ship after beating the simulation.
And this time you cannot say that you could defeat it several times like the arks.
Right, so it's a Halo 4 Didact like situation, established character with a plethora of lore being reintroduced to the main timeline of events.
Because they never made the reseeding protocol, so Arks where still up in the air, with their ascension.
But there is only 1 ship in this situation.
The Arks returned to Earth after the events of Extinction?
The colony ship is a last resort effort to keep humanity from becoming extinct, it's a hail mary
After our events of Extintion, not after Santiago, Mei and Helena events
That happened 1000's of years before hand though
Not really, some months ago with some Genesis notes in hands, I showed how between Helena and us only happens like 3 months.
Sounds pretty funny that isn’t it.
How we miss Ark notes survivors by mere months
Eh, either way I really do think that breaking of lore consistencies are necessary if we're to move into the narrative of Ark II, which is primed to more or less be a reset of the story at large it seems..
I’ll just leave the explanation I did here months ago
Cuz it’s 2 am and I my brain ain’t working well with Ark lore and day counting
Doesn't seem like it at all its only a new chapter of the same book
From my reading of it, it felt more like Bob was just also there for the events with Helena, or was making stuff up, inserting himself into stories he wasn’t there for, rather than actually doing what the survivor did, hence it being called “Bob’s Tall Tales” meaning there’s definitely lies and/or exaggeration in there
they are tall tales. its Bob telling children stories to Meeka
Jeremy confirmed it on twitter
Anyone else get the feeling that Meeka is literally falling for a similar trap that Rockwell fell into at the end obsession that might ruin her life
Yeah she might be turning into the next Rockwell 😂
Rockwell jr
I would not be surprised if that’s the central conflict of Ark 2. Perhaps the goal will be to prevent Meeka from becoming what Rockwell did
I’m pretty sure it was longer then months
Helena (or The One who Waits) describes that it took her a very long time to figure out how to recreate her fluke and get Survivors to respawn
Also, Rockwell says “it’s been ages since I’ve seen one of you!” And we know the graduate students arrive on Aberration long after the Tek Tribe used the gateway project, and we arrive even later
It definitely wasn’t just a few months, rather an undescribed number of years …possibly into centuries though that is left ambiguous
I also didn't like that Bob didn't realize that she's kinda going to try to do what Rockwell did
At the end of the note
Can we have a good new villain instead of another rockwell but child? Thanks
Alright but hear me out, how about a Rockwell but child, buuut she’s Diana’s daughter
See, its genius
No, it’s quite literally maximum 8 years.
Nidas explorer notes talk about that.
But it’s what happens when a story is developed across several years.
It starts having plot holes or strange situations like this.
I dunno i rather have either Nerva or Timur being revived just to fucc her over (to realize reviving someone is not worth it) and finally a decent villain to fight
Well I think Nerva wasn’t that bad of a guy 🤓👆🏻
It’s definitely a plot hole but it can’t possibly be just 8 years
It’ll be because the original 4 and Genesis were written by different people
But the way The One Who Waits describes it, it’s been a lot longer then 8 years
I hope the lost colony fight is unique
I think that Lost Colony will take place in Arat Prime
Case #49941 @velvet ravine has been muted for 2 hours.
Reason: Mass Tagging
Pretty much a given at this point I'm really hyped
We don't know absolute nothing about Arat Prime, just know it's a city on Earth, and that's all
We know it's the launch site for the Genesis ship.
And there’s probably some sort of teleporter there
The liminal uplink thingy, yeah.
We can also guess from the logo reveal that it’s a snowy region, which given the earth has been tidally locked for centuries, yeah, it would be pretty snowy. The city might also be underground given how the tek logo is revealed
Don't believe it's ever stated if there is a city or not over there?
Think we just know that it's "the launch site" and that's about it.
Could be wrong
I’m taking a guess that a city might be there because it’s called “Lost Colony”
A colony can also mean a nation
I'd assume the launch site had a city cus it was ran by the federation
"Lost Colony" could be more towards just a lost civilization/the Federation stuff, since it was stuck in ice for GodKnowsHowLong
True, true
Okay, question.
Anyone here played Frostpunk?
But I was also under the understanding before the fall of humanity millions of ppl lived in both territories
It being a federation outpost would also explain why the tek looked a bit different than the standard tek we’re used to and the tek in Extinction
No I haven't
I’m familiar. It’s a Frozen earth city builder, yes?
Okay, so it's a city builder game that has a survival twist to it, where you have to build a city around a giant-ass Steampunk generator during a new Ice Age. Making sure it's always on to produce warmth.
There's an expansion called "The Last Autumn" where it's a prequel to the base-games story.
During the expansion, you have to build once of the many reactors you used during the base game, as the new Ice Age slowly rolls in.
The generator though was created in a GIANT ass hole, huge, and it you had to have coal miners and engineers go into it and construct it from the bottom up, while making sure they didn't die from any hazards like oil spills or cave collapses.
Basically, The Last Autumn is kind of what I expect Arat Prime to look like.
A giant ass hole the Genesis ship was created, that also could've acted as a civilization/living space for the workers
@mental basin Credit to Stel for the original hole idea, that the ship might've been constructed in a hole due to how the logo looks and how it almost looks like lava underneath.
Wasn't my idea
Wa?
Thought it was you that thought that in a vc chat with us.
Sounds cool maybe
I think it will look and feel like a snowy dark and depressing post apocalypse
Yeah but that side of the planet won't really be fully healed any time soon I don't think repopulation/rebuilding can be done in a year I'd assume it'd take atleast 100 Years to even start to fix the damage that happened to earth
Well, there's the ARK's that have brought back all life, so Earth is repopulated already.
The ARK's reseed protocol causes plants to grow at a comical rate, as seen in Extinction's ending where the wasteland becomes a forest.
The only real issue would be the fuck ton of melting ice on the other side of the planet that may cause a new ocean.
Oh, and the fact our moon is still blown up for some reason
But besides those two things. Earth is healing at a comical rate.
I really want that Lost Colony show us how Rockwell get into the Genesis Ship
He’s going to look the teleporter, and then look at us, and then the survivor will say “no, bad Rockwell!” The way you would say to a cat, and then he teleports himself onto the colony ship
I think would be very funny fight with Rockwell on Arat Prime
Still I'm imaging the lost colony to be a dark depressing hellscape idk I really want wildcard to dive into something that's melancholy
That's what Extinction was for
Extinction still never really gave me the vibe all hope was lost can't be depressed when the sun shines 24 hrs a day
Well, I doubt a cold environment is going to make at least me personally feel depressed.
Unless the foliage is 3" high again where I can't see shit
That's pretty depressing
Idk I'm really looking forward to it but I still think that side of earth should still be a hellscape until we show up
What's your definition of a hellscape?
Well the destroyed city/station gives into the vibe
We don't really know untill we see more og but its fun to talk abt theories
I don't personally see how it could look like a hellscape with Earth healing.
At most, Aberration caused some pseudo Corruption or Rockwell's hivemind that'll probably be killed off from Earth again by the end of the expansions story.
Seems it'll just be a snow-based map that's possibly dethawing.
Only thing that'd makes sense in my mind personally, is the map will be a post-post apocalyptic map.
If Lost Colony take place in Arat Prime, and they said that would be snow map, probably be a dark city, as a hellscape, Because the Earth doesn't have rotation for the element war, so, would be a cold and dark hell
Probably Lost Colony will show us how Rockwell get into the Genesis ship, so, a new boss battle against Rockwell would be funny
Arat Prime is the point launch site for the Genesis ship so, If Lost Colony take place in Arat Prime, we must see something about it
The ARK's helped allow the Earth to rotate again
A
A
I don't think everything happens instantly but oh well guess we will see
Correct.
But one that's currently dethawing. Hints the logo bursting out of the icy landscape
We'll see, but that's what is kind of implied during Extinction's ending
Maybe Lost Colony will have the Proto-Arks
I feel like our actions in arat will be the thing that fully fixes it
Arat?
The planet far, far away from Earth?
I know.
Well, we are not even sure if Lost colony will take place in Arat Prime
Do I need to fully say something
I'm lazy I feel like I don't need to type something when there's context
it's either Ned or Charlie IIRC
No, I just despise Wildcard's naming convection for the planet.
Because one simple slip up like that can change the whole point of a convo, which got me confused for a moment
Would be intersting if in Lost Colony we see something about the Aberration's ark
Ah my b
And technically, we don't.
But the fact it's set between Extinction and Gen1, and the fact it'll lead into the events of ARK-2, as well as getting MAPPA animations about following the story of Mei-Yin after the events of the Extinction notes, kind of is a small give away that it'll be set around Arat Prime.
Because Mei-Yin makes it to Arat Prime.
Is the most probably
Calling it now.
She's probably going to be killed off in these animations, as a closure to her character.
(please for all that is holy. Don't bring her back if that's the case. Allow death to actually mean something and have real consequences)
If you are not Rockwell, if you die, you die
What do you mean?
Eh, he technically never dies if I recall until Gen2.
Ab Rockwell I believe gets forcefully retreated back by the ARK.
Rockwell is like general grevious from starwars a coward
He does talk big shit.
Talking about aberration, in the ending of Extinction the rockwell's corrupted ark go to Earth to and we can hear him roaring, so if Lost Colony takes place on Arat Prime that means we will see him
Again
Well yeah I hope at the beginning he tps away and then we fight watever is pretty much left
More then likely, yeah.
Gotta get the one last rematch, yet again, before killing him off.
Maybe a boss battle with Rockwell in Arat Prime, trying to don't let him get into the Genesis Ship?
I really want something different not another rockwell fight
I'd crash tf out
For me would be funny
But I understand, there would be the 4th time that we fight with Rockwell
For four more expansions
Not with cloning.
Rockwell and Willian Afton, both are purple weird guys, both always come back
Both talk a lot of shit.
We need a new Villian
Nah, Rockwell again
Talking about that, who gonna be the villain in Ark 2?
We know so little about ARK-2 that theories of the plot and where it'll go is probably not worth the brain effort
Rockwell is imposible because, he is the, and if he is not death, he had his redemption at the end of Genesis Part 2 so, I really don't know who can be the villian
Yeah you're right
I'd like to point out, that the type of shit he has done could never be redeemed.
Well, if he redeemed or not, don't matter 'cause, you know, he is death
Unless they pull a Santiago and bring him back via a new cloned body
?
Idk, is just remember him and, he is to, idk, irrelevant?
Idk is a feeling that I have
What do you mean?
A very, irrelevant
Post Extinction, yes.
But during and pre-Extinction, he's pretty relevant.
For be the King of Shadows he had to be more relevant
What do you mean?
He's pretty relevant during Extinction.
I know, wait, I have a Idea
What Happen if in Lost Colony the King Titan come back?
The King Titan is basically the main antagonist of the legacy maps/pre Genesis.
Can't happen, sorry.
The King Titan is the physical manifestation of the Corruption itself.
By killing the King Titan, we kill basically the brain of the hivemind. And the ARK's literally Thanos snapped the rest of the Corruption off of Earth.
We don't know how the hivemind fully works, or if there's any more Corruption on any other planet. So if it was only a Earth thing, and if this type of Hivemind can't survive after every instance of it has been eradicated, then both this instance of Corruption and the King Titan are permanently dead.
Same situation as the King Titan, but smaller scale.
So no, because Corruption has been eradicated off of Earth.
Wait, wait wait, the element is a, extraterrest creation right?
It came from space, yes. But the real origins of it is unknown.
It would be a crystaline planet, not full of life.
We see Element ridden planets during Gen2 that we can harvest the astroids of.
Element is an always spreading resource that wants to expand for its own survival.
Give it enough time, and it can rewrite every material on a planet to become itself.
Nah, we already see the people from Arat right?
Aratai's, yeah.
They're the natives.
From what little we know, they seem to just be a naturally evolving species like the homonid genus.
They are very primite right?
The element must be a creation of a very advanced civilization, advanced enough to control it
Better stop of speculate about Ark 2
I'm losing my mind
Better come back to Lost Colony
Kind of reptillian-ish.
They look alien in their skin and texture honestly, but the anatomy is very humanoid.
Or, could somehow be natural.
Though, the entire Element crashing onto Earth, Tek War, and it spreading due to a global war is basically just Command & Conquerors storyline.
Talking about the Tek War, would be funny a DLC about it no?
No
Because it wouldn't make any sense to have that as a expansion for ARK-1
Now, a spin-off title?
I'd be down for that.
@hybrid raft Make a Halo: Wars style RTS prequel that's set during the Tek-War, you coward.
Allow me to play as the Corrupted hivemind
You're right
Like the flood
Oh that be cool
I mean fallout did it but it wouldn't really work for a survival multi-player game
Kind of?
The Flood spreads out of malice and pettiness.
It also can't covert inorganic matter into organic.
Element spreads out of survival, and does convert inorganic matter into itself.
Well the flood need to eat to survive like any other animal
Just in a different way
That's what I'm saying.
Unless it's some simulation type of stuff that's just a recreation of the war, it wouldn't make sense in a game like ARK.
It would also be weird to have a survival game like ARK set during a global war, where the survival is more military-based with rations, while having to follow orders.
Would be lit thinking about it you could determine who won maybe idk lol
No one won canonically
Does anyone ever truly win a war?
Yeah, you do.
It's whoever survives the last
And you can win a nuclear war.
By not playing it.
Well I'd assume tek nukes are way deadlier then regular
Like, the entire west coast of the U.S is gone during the Tek War
Well
New Zealand is also gone.
And there's probably other locations that are beyond gone as well that haven't been talked about yet
Damn my home is gone
The war ended once the Corruption started to spread.
The U.R.E and Federation formed a peace treaty once they understood that the Corruption was a larger threat.
Nah long live Florida
Flordia probably experienced global warming
Invasion of sarcosuchus
ARK is set in our own future, and Flordia is scheduled to be completely flooded and underwater by the 2050s.
...... wait
Oh, sorry. That's when the flooding will start
2100s is when it'll be 8 feet high of ocean.
Well, I hate my own state so
In halo Florida doesn't exist
YEP!
Halo gets another prediction right, yet again.
It's a running joke in rvb that nobody actually remembers what happened to Florida
Till all are one
Halo funnily enough, felt like the most believable version of our future in some aspects.
"All the orginal great 50 states" grif-"you mean 49 after what happened to Florida"
Well, come back to Ark
Well yeah the ppl that made halo made it to represent what happened in our own timeline everything is basically a 1 for 1 in halos timeline is ark kinda the same to that degree ?
Ehh, not at all.
ARK diverge from anything believable the moment Element crashed onto Earth.
True but yeah halo is the most realistic version of reality we could get to because halo is set within our understanding of the universes rules that we know of
How much powerful was the King Titan?
Well, he was a walking apocalypse.
And the physical manifestation of the Corruption hivemind itself.
The lore said that he lead a army of titans, I think we gonna see some titans on Lost Colony
Again, that's impossible with the current storyline
What type of creatures we gonna see in lost colony?
We don't know.
Would be a snow-based map so, that give us a little idea
Though, if I have to take the biggest, wildest guess.
It'll be a mixture of prototype creations of Rockwells, like a prototype of the shadowmane.
Depending on what the symbol is suppose to be made out of. If it's a new type of Tek/possibly prototype-Tek, we may see some prototype biomechanical creatures like enforcers, but possibly more fleshy looking.
Possibly whatever security system Arat Prime had due to anti-Corruption measures.
We must see something of Rockwell
Rockwell will be the boss.
Must be
We had to see how he get ingo the ship
A boss battle against him in Arat Prime in the launch point of the Genesis ship maybe
We need see more of Helena and Mei Yin
Helena's been yeeted to her pocket dimension.
Mei Yin though will probably be the main focus of the subplot.
Probably
And calling it again.
She's gonna die at the end
Not going to hold out my breath until we get more
He woke up and decided to tidally lock the earth
He is the manifestation of the Element itself
Well it wouldn't be the first time lol
If Rockwell is the boss of Lost Colony will be the 4th time
i say its some fcontriolled creature of his or idk broken ai maybe
It probably depends on if he’s teleported to Genesis yet or not
I wouldn't say CMC is rockwell
it was corrupted by him.
Ok I’m confused u thought Diana loved mei not Santiago
Ok, I'm trying to understand the Lore more... what year is the ARK universe set in? Specifically the time our Survivor gets to Aberration
25th century ish
Roughly
its way past that. the collapse was after 2348 and helena and crew are over 600 years later.
Mid to late 28th-29th century then?
we don't know how far we are after helena. there are points to have it right after and a long time after. its not directly stated
I'm just going off what others said
they are probably talking about when the arks were made.
Where can I find out how long Rockwell was stewing in that vat of liquid element?
we don't know how long ago helena went through it. its entirely unknown.
could be right on their heels, could be hundreds of years later.
Given how the tek on aberration is still working relatively fine, I’d say it’s a short-ish span of time between Helena’s story and the arrival of the survivor
How did the Reapers and Drakes get on Extinction?
the obvious answer would be a proto ark had them or a lab that created them
like all the other dinosaurs.
no idea if that was ever said tho.
So they werent Rockwell's creations but the Ark's... just curious why they are there but no other aberrant creatures.
nope neither are rockwell. both existed prior to them getting to ab.
I believe there were, but Diana and Mei Yin killed most of them, aside from the four you fight in Extinction
Is there a Canon reason why mythical creatures exist in the ark
do u think the ones they killed were different then the ice forest desert and king?
basically
they made the dinos with what if someone like cleo had a pt or something
historical figures gad these amazing beasts
and so they looked through history and maybe in this version of earth griffins and stuff like that existed
or they sais f it griffin dragon wyverns
So basically the ark made a bunch of alt history evolution creatures
As a testing ground yes, before they realized it’d be a little too much for the desert ARK
mostly no only the Dragon Boss in The Island, the Golem and the Wyverns of SE and Drakes, Reapers, Nameless of Ab
titans are technically counts as mythical creatures as well
and yes Magmasaur WAS on SE but scrapped it
tbh let's face it WC barely do environmental storytelling
the giant skeletons in SE, AB, and Ext dont have any lore explanation, The glowing yellow fungus growth in The Hall of History (The Island) is there for some reason, Obs have purple glow now instead of just exclusive to Ab
it's just a wasted storytelling
in one of the notes on gen they said it was tested there but moved to gen
They’ve gotten a bit better with it with ASA, with the ruins you find notes at more closely resembling the structures described in the notes, but I do definitely wish there was more environmental storytelling
is duke of erisia stronger than a Spinosaurus lore wise
who?
Are the holiday events canon?
no
the lore was to add greater threat and challenge to the different arks by creating genetically engineered creatures from human mythos
but after se they got carried away and alot aren't cannon
Same reason dinosaurs exist
magic I mean, element
element magic space rock
You know
If element came from space
There’s probably more of it out there
Larger amounts of it
Have you been on gen 2 before?
Oh, yeah, the element asteroids
Yep, there is a lot of element out there, entire planets taken over by the stuff
It's almost like Genesis 2 is a thing lol
hlna shop and hexagon maniacs
Wait I have a question so lost colony’s boss going to be Rockwell? Because during the events inbetween extinction and genesis Rockwell is still alive
Scheiss rotz Spiel
We don't know if he'll be a boss. But he'll more then likely have some plot involvement.
Some hope he'll leave something behind akin to the Experimental Giga as the boss.
But I kind of hope Lost Colony more focuses on robots and mechanical tek beings, and we get some actual tek robot that isn't an Overseer as the final boss.
Maybe like a corrupted or hacked mega mek type boss?
how messed up do u think canada is the ark universe
i feel like there's a maple syrup titan there
the canadian titan is just a giant snowman
I lowkey want a Mek Centaur boss and the fights are in stages
The more you shed the protective parts it changes form as the stage progresses
Centaur > Humanoid > Flyer > Overseer Core
And each form has different attack style that made bodyblocking and DPS checks useless also some forms are immune to kinetic ammo or explosive or element ammo
when u say mek centaur u make me think of allen from subnautica
i have a question and i’m sorry if it’s obvious - is the extinction map set on the ruined Earth? And if so, I’m confused as to why there are already obelisks. Can someone explain this to me 😂
Well yes extinction is earth
And the obelisks power each of the proto arks
And the green one in sanctuary is use to power the city
So was extinction an Ark that never launched into space? why is it on earth?
No no no extinction is on earth
It’s not a ark
The little bubbles are small prototype arks
The hole next to the map is actually where a ark launched from
Ohhhhhhhh so it was like a test/trial run
Hey all, my Dad and I are arguing about the lore behind ark 2 and stuff, and we were wondering the difference between arat and arat prime, if there is one. If anyone has info to educate us, it would be greatly appreciated :) (MOVED FROM ARK 2 CHANNEL) (SOLVED)
You mean the whole void in the south was a bunch of soil launched into space?
Im just interested thinking how the life evolved in the other side of the earth.
I probably didn't.
Unless Arat Prime is set on the equator like Extinction, most life is dead due to the frost.
If life adapted to Chernobyl the Ark, surely they can survive without light.
There's a major difference between radiation (and lights amount, because life evolved only OUTSIDE of the actual dangerous region) and -150F temp
Sorry
There probably is some life, but not much
That’s nothing.
Our character could go naked into space in Genesis 2 and survived like a champ.
Because it was still inside of the ships artificial atmosphere.
The middle section is meant to be explored by miners, if I recall.
Also, in game it only gets around like 10F in that area if I recall
I have a little theory, and that life survived in the other area, just not outside, but underground.
And I don’t mean there is a tunnel system like aberration but that dinosaurs there are mole-like
Possibly?
The A of Ark was steaming hot underground, meaning the inner layer could be covered in some type of idk what that keeps it warmer.
Just for context, the coldest place in ARK is murder snow on Rag, which reached down to only -80F.
This is also assuming they actually care about the temp and not just have it for gameplay reasons like weight.
I love behemoth gates weighing 4...pounds? Never really confirmed what the unit the inventory measures in.
Mei Yin was seen in the trailer surviving with a fur cloth
Which is like, ok.
Anyway, Earth should rotate now that we killed the King Titan, so I don’t think it would be as cold as before Titan Death.
Which is why I assume it's on the equator.
We actually forgetting one little detail.
Minor detail.
Earth would be 6 months in light and 6 months in night.
So Arat would only be frozen half of the year.
And on Extintion we should’ve been at 100 degrees Celsius btw.
So k don’t think they care much about temperatures
I think the hottest place in Extintion doesn’t even reach 40
Well, no.
Not if Extinction is set on the equator.
The equator would be the only habitable location on Earth pre-Reseed Protocol.
Also, the wasteland can reach up to like 112F
100 Celsius is not close to 112 Fahrenheit
Not comparing the two
Saying that the wasteland can reach up to 112F.
Hot as hell, but livable if you can find shade.
And this is just pure speculation, but Extintion location could be Europe, just because I remember the archives of the trees had Europe tag something.
Might be my head playing me a game tho.
That doesn't matter.
Most of the foliage in ARK that're based off of IRL plants are just asset store stuff.
Sanctuary is more then likely the U.S, since it was a U.R.E city if I recall.
If not just the Americas, somewhere
Anyway, for what I’ve read, an Earth that stops rotating should be down right just impossible to live in.
Wasteland should be like aberration surface to take comparison.
Again, not on the equator.
Equators on tidally locked planets are the only theoretically habitable locations on them.
Anyway, we are deviating from the main theme:
If wildcard wants it, there can be life that evolved in Arat Prime, we’ve had rock golems that eat rocks and doesn’t need to breath, so why not creatures made to survive cold?
Worst, they are not “golems” they are parasitic stuff that parasite rocks
The Equator would literally be the hottest part of the Earth, an any water in the area would go to the poles.
"But even water-poor planets might stand a chance. In these cases, life would be confined to the "ribbon" of the terminator line. The dayside would be scorching hot, with far too much heat and radiation to sustain robust life — far worse than even the deepest deserts on Earth. In contrast, the nightside would be frozen, dominated by endless glaciers.
But in between, a temperate climate could prevail. Living on a world like this would be quite odd indeed. Its star would be forever low on the horizon, never moving or changing. Winds and ocean currents would stream constantly from the dayside to the nightside. Without significant rotation, those currents wouldn't twist up to form gyres or hurricanes. Instead, they would consist of ultrapowerful jet streams rushing by to keep the temperatures in balance."
It's theoretically possible, as both sides would be equalizing each other basically.
One side is completely fucked and on hot AF, and the other is fucked and cold AF.
But where they intersect, they would be constantly cooling and warming each other up.
Extinction would also have to be set on the equator, as we can see when heading towards the Forbidden Zone, the world being frozen over. While heading towards where the crater/ARK will land, it's all a wasteland and dead.
(if this is true, this would also mean we're both wrong, and it's not set in the U.S nor Europe)
Crack pot fucking theory.
But it could be set in South Africa, where homo-sapiens are theorized to originally originate.
Would be symbolic of saving Earth, and humanity returning home.
Yes
I need help with creating a dinosaur character who comes from the primal universe
I always assumed extinction took place in south Africa
I really think extinction takes place in Asia, specifically in the Middle East.
this proved the point that WC fails at environmental storytelling and just slaps things because "rule of cool/gameplay"
Why?
It looks to extra terectial for it to be there
It is confrimed that Extinction is on earth
Read the notes
Geographical things, in the lore (the knowledge I have about it) the protagonists travels into Arat Prime, Arat Prime is supposed to take place in the location of the Noah’s Ark, and the Noah’s Ark supposedly stopped in the Ararat mount (If you cut Ararat in half you get Arat, like Arat Prime)-, and the Ararat mount is in the Middle East, specially in turkey, so that’s the reason why I think that, also, in the extinction map we can see icy mountains, like the Caucasus mountains
Sharing a name similarity does not entail a location similarity for Arat Prime, and outside of that name similarity is it expressed at all where Arat Prime would be located.
Now that’s not to say it isn’t possible, but its neither confirmed or suggested to be the case rn so making the assumption of that’s where Arat Prime is located without proof of such won’t hold much weight
sooo...anyone wanna tell me why they are retconning helena and Mei Yins relationship? far as i remember, they never had anything beyond friendship. and even that Mei Yin thought she lost after she punched helena before she got taken to aberration
Nowhere is it stated that Arat Prime is set at Noah's Ark
would be an interestinmg easter egg
The Full Story of ARK - Before You Play ASCENDED
-By NeddyTheNoodle
Hey
So this might be the wrong place to ask, but do we know anything about The Complete Survival Series from NeddyTheNoodle? When can we expect the next one, if at all?
You mean Extinction?
Yeah
Survival Stories Extinction was canceled like two years ago.
Though, depending on how well the new ASA remake of the Survival Stories, there **MAY ** be a chance for an ASA Extinction Survival Stories.
Thank you
so quick question the extinction creatures liek armadoggo mana dread snow owl velo why do they have that weird element like pattern on them
the manas neck the snow owls face the dogs back area did they evolve in a weird way cause of the element?
From my understanding, they evolved alongside it via a symbiotic relationship.
so is that why the mana can has ice breath or did they evole while downing mints
I would assume genetic mutation thhat happened while the creature addapted to the surrounding of the snowy terrain
and cause of the snow and the element it evoled to breath ice
So what's the theory for the velonasaur and gacha?
eating element and minerals cause it to evolve that way
and velonasaur maybe idk
An evolved cactus lol
Since Arat prime takes place on the other side of the earth it should be all snow and permanent night.. do we really want that for Lost Colony ? 🥹
Also how could they explain theres an ascension on Arat Prime if it wasn't planned to be an ark or a defy for our survivor ? 🥹
The only solution would be an ark like on ext, meaning all the outside of this "bubble" will be frozen but it doesnt explain the ascension
The trailer shows the logo being revealed during the daytime, and since this is post extinction, the earth should no longer have its rotation locked. Also, this wouldn’t be the first time we’ve had ascension not on an ark. Look at Gen 1 and 2. There, we’re essentially just powered up by beating the final boss of those maps. The same thing will likely apply here.
I feel like it might be a mix of extinction and Genesis with a frozen wasteland and heated spots to build a base and tame but thats my theory could be very different
And what about Helena then? Bc she became a Homodeus, just like us after we kill King Titan, so technically we should see her on Arat Prime
I dont think earth rotation can be fixed since its been broken by the war
Its not smthg survivors can control
Not by the war, by element. With element being removed from the equation, the rotation will begin again
Is there any explanation for corrupted rock drakes on extinction pre-reseed protocol?
Are u sure? Bc the moon exploded aswell ^^ u may be right tho, the lore is complex
The moon being destroyed is never mentioned in the lore.
Marc (the original writer) actually never intended anything to happen to the moon. But someone (likely Jeremy/Jesse) decided a blown up moon would look cool during the Overseer fight. So now we're stuck with a blown up moon with no lore attached to it.
And where we can read Marc's lore ? xd real question
Bc it's not that easy to get the full ark story in french, ngl..
He's the writer of The Island - Extinction's notes.
Yh but i mean does he have a website or smthg that explains everything ?
It's pinned in this channel.
He has a Reddit Q&A, confirming different things about his version of the story. (some things may change later on, as he's no longer the writer and that's just how stories progress and change over time with multiple writers)
ooh kk, thanks mate !
Another random tidbit he confirmed is that Reapers/Nameless aren't Rockwell's creations. (unlike what some people like Syntac/Cedric thought
)
But reapers are ?
As far as i know they're from differents dna and rockwell helped in this process
Reapers are also NOT created by Rockwell
They exist in Ab while Rockwell is in SE
Iirc in the explorer notes on Ab, Diana and Santiago found the reapers in stasis tanks somewhere on Ab, meaning they were something the overseer had made for the Ark.
No, they're made by the ARK itself
That was way after Aberration got fucked.
The ARK itself was creating the Reapers after the Overseer got destroyed from the Tek bomb.
Hey, is there any info on how long / far the ship could have gotten from earth?
Don't think we know how far, but I believe it launched a bit before the ARK's did
i dont think they found the reapers on statis tanks during their first encounter with Reapers, i recall they are with Mei exploring deep in AB, losing Ao Yue (Mei's Drake) and a member of the expedition team in the process (death by pregnancy) while Helena and Rockwell is still in SE
the "statis tanks" is when Helena is with Santiago and Mei while Rockwell is taking a side trip with Diana, trying to get Pure Element Samples
Explain the entire ark lore pls
All I know is earth got destroyed by element then arks were made
Pins
Actually, sorry
