The Aberration ARK did have some, so that may be a decent supply of small amount (small amount all things consider) of Element to fight off Rockwell.
Afterwards, it'd be small enough to be eradicated really easily compared to the planetary scale it had.

Arat Prime is the name of the Launch Site of the Colony Ship on Earth. Not really too sure why it's given such a fancy name for a Launch site of the ship but yeah it causes confusion even with me until someone enlightened me.

For clarification:
Arat is the planet that Ark 2 will be on. Arat Prime is the Launch Site on Earth for the Colony Ship. The Colony ship was searching for a suitable new Earth and whatever planet it found, that planet would then be called Arat.

We know there is at least 1 Paid Canon DLC map coming and so it's extremely likely it is between Extinction and Genesis 1. A second Paid Canon DLC if that's gonna be a thing, would have to be a Prequel. I really hope and I personally doubt they are gonna touch Arat, Ark 2's Planet.

It would have no choice but to be a prequel if there were to be two new Canon DLC's coming unless they just dragged out the time period between Extinction and Genesis 1 some more and slotted in a Part 1 and Part 2 style DLC

Only time they could actually slot in a Prequel would be between Island and Scorched Earth and it would be a Ark station map.

Well I mean there is always the option to change around the ascending cinematic/lore of Scorched Earth as well if they wanted it after SE in the timeline. It wouldn't be a Rockwell fight though it would be way more in line with the standard Arks

OR I could see them maybe making one of the DLCs about an Ark that didn't come home, for some reason. Again wouldn't involve Rockwell though bit it would have to be for a very good lore reason since Aberration was sent home despite it being completely unsuitable to do so

I also like to believe though that Rockwell forced the Ark to return home when the signal was given out, because it's hard for me to believe the people who created the Ark system to begin with, wouldn't have enabled some security protocol to deny any Ark that has sustained structural damage and or be unsuitable for the Ark programme to return if/when given the command to do so.

Which would then align with the idea that one of the Ark's didn't return home because of some problem and Helena sends you up there to find out whats wrong same way she did with the Colony Ship

TL:DR If there is more than 1 Canon DLC coming in ASA here are the 3 possible story scenarios IMO:

1. Prequel/Sequel to Scorched Earth (Just change ascension cinematics)
2. Post-Extinction Ark station that never returned home.
3. The Time Period between Extinction and Genesis 1 is just broken up into two New DLCs (A part 1 & 2)

The first DLC will take place after Extinction, and a second DLC could continue the Earth storyline even further, not touching Gen/Gen 2 at all cause they serve as Link to Vinnies Ark2 fanfic prequel.
Like they can go for a Earth after Arks storyline. There are enough options to do so like exploring the landed Arks, which will have enough potential to cause new Problems that need to be solved, exploring old Ruins on Earth finding clues what happend.
There are so much possibilities, you don't even need to make a link between Ext and Genesis and keep ASA a sepperated Storyline without having to touch anything in Ark 2 and Ark2 does not have the need to pick up on the new DLCs and can start in a new state.

Not every Survivor did go to the Gen2 ship (that was left on us to decide), so others that did stick on earth continue their story there.

It depends a bit on where they want to go with ASA. It might also be a bit depending on how well ASA does.

It might also be a mix.. like continuing with the Eart story but you can find hints and snippets of what happened with Mei and Diana so you get some clues how Rockwell made it and what happened to them but still keep some mysteries.

I feel bridging the gap is important and a first, if they want to go ahead and make more Paid ones base on Earth adventures Post extinction I'm all for it, because I am not hyped for Ark 2 in the slightest gameplay wise and I don't like Vin Diesel either tbf. That is something Ark has lacked too, is more villains for the story, it's so heavily focussed on Rockwell which makes sense and thats okay but there's not really enough character building to have a side villain replace Rockwell

Especially if they wanted to make stories now without using Rockwell as a boss or a villain directly. King Titan was cool but wasn't really a character or personality at all he wa sjust a product of the map, nothing more than a Plot point i guess

I saw a theory in reddit about a guy who thought the reapers were bred for war during the element wars. That would be pretty interesting considering how useful they are in war. They can shoot darts, they release gas when killed, can go underground and ambush, reproduce by killing.

In-game, Nameless don't despawn. They're supposed to bury and hide in the presence of Charge Light, or in the Mushroom Forest biome which is 'bright' enough. Sometimes Nameless can get to areas they're not supposed to and constantly spawn due to one being stuck underground somewhere. They'll keep spawning infinitely. I had a boat base foundation infested once and they wouldn't stop spawning despite being covered in multiple sources of Charge Light

Same way HLN-A did because Helena left the transmitter on Arat Prime active(Base on Earth with a network connected to the Genesis ship). This means Rockwell turned himself into an ai similar to homo deus to use it.

Since Rockwell is able to be a bodyless ai, it's easy to say he survived the Genesis ending by uploading himself onto the surviving ring. Rockwell coming back for Ark 2 probably won't happen and I'm sure he's dead for the plot, but it's not off the table.

There's two methods, depnds if you want to read or not. It won't let me post links, but you can google "Story of Ark Explained" which should lead you to a reddit post that has all the notes in chronological order while also providing a bit of a breakdown, maps, etc when further explanation is needed. the other method is to watch the videos that @dense ice made where he has the notes being read off by voice actors as they play ARK showing the events (kind of like a Red Vs Blue but w/ ARK lore)

Quick fact about Arrat Prime.

I assume it's sited around the actual Mount Arrat, the resting place of Noah's Ark in modern day turkey.

If this is the case, then I can also follow up by recalling that Sanctuary (Extinction's Map) is on the other side of the world from Arrat Prime (it's technically vice versa in the note I'm citing)

If this is the case, this either means that it's just a long distance from the site OR it's literally an Antipode to the Mountain.

If it was an Antipode, this would place Sanctuary in or off the coast of New Zealand.

Honestly, it being off the coast of modern day New Zealand makes a lot of sense because of 2 reasons.

1. The coastline recessed heavily as the planet heated up.

2. The Island (the Ark that lands into the crater next to Sanctuary) is... well... an Island.

If we presume that the Island launched from that same crater, it's pretty sound to say that it's practically in the middle of the ocean.

(Also, Helena explicitly stated that respawning would cease after the reseed protocol, so the survivors will likely have to simply make more humans the old fashioned way.)

This is very inconsistent in the lore.

Santiago's (presuming it's his) child has an Implant in the Ark 2 Trailer [strangely, none of the implants are Terran Federation Implants, instead being Ark-based Implants].

And additionally, Ark Mobile has Creature Implants, which allows you to revive a dead tame.

Children of said wild tames also have these implants (likely for gameplay purposes)

TAS looks great, but it's not going to mix well with a lot of the lore veterans in the community that don't want it to change stuff about the original story.
It being what the MCU is the the Marvel comic universe would be the best option to make as little of people mad.

The implant is effectively a second brain, it allows us to condense materials into nothing (while still burdening the survivor)

Translate nearly every language of the old world.

And allow us to push our bodies beyond our natural limits (yes, stat leveling is canon, it's mentioned in the Moschops Dossier)

The rest are just gameplay mechanics, and it's a decently large myth in the community that the implants are canonically our inventories. (even though nothing is mentioned anywhere in the lore about this)
Their only canonical use is three functions.
A: As you said, universal translator.
B: for the Overseer to keep track of every survivor.
C: To allow respawning once Deus-Helena became a thing.

Never once in the Moschop dossier does it even state implants.
It states that with time, it can be 'trained' to harvest better with specific resources.
Which of course stats are canon to an extent. That's literally how any living organism adapts and evolves. Is via 'training' not implants.
When you level up, your survivor isn't going beyond human limits, they're just getting more durable like any real life human would over time.

Regardless of player, the Ark's would have failed because the Titans happened either way. The Earth would have eventually become completely corrupt and the re-seed would never have been started.

Genesis would have continued the mission, it didn't care about the status of Earth since it was seeking a new habitable planet anyway. Eventually found one, and started colonizing as planned.

So from what I gathered the titans especially the alpha titan are generaters of element by killing them we essentially stalled the growth and Helena activated the program that started erasing the element veins and the element started to rapidly resind and as the arks are returning the element levels would be low enough to safely reseed which would erase the element completely from earth. I believe the reason why the element was erased so quickly was because it wasn't deeply embbed in the earth as the titans were the main way it would spread instead of it but that's just a theory

Makes me wonder if dying of old age with the respawn system in place would respawn you as you were originally.

Maybe the original denizens of the ark could age as a result of their finite mortality, but the new survivors [us, of course] seem to spend months if not years living and dying on the arks, and never seem to appear aged or much worse for wear.

...though that begs the question of whether or not we as survivors actually know and understand what death feels like, since we're known to keep our experience and memories from body to body... unless the respawn system chooses to omit those last few moments so as to avoid mental breakdown.

One thing I've always noticed about this is the fact that our character has a "death scream" even when killed from a headshot, which should stop all brain activity entirely.

This is probably because our Survivors' brains are actually in the implant, the natural brain simply being there to coordinate motor functions & regular body activity.

When our brain shuts down, our mind doesn't.

We are left there, dead, but still "conscious", the implant still feels, but it slowly powers down after the host's death, leading to the actual "death" of the Survivor.

This is just a theory based off some goofy mechanics, but fuck is it spooky, the fact that you still have brain activity after you cease living on the Arks.

A very interesting notion and concept. The specimen implant is an incredibly complex thing— do you think it was always this complex? It's stated that helena "lives" in our implants. Before she became a homo-deus, I wonder just how much the implants could do.. have they always been a universal storage? I know they've always been a translator of sorts.

I theorized their use in gameplay as a universal translator... of matter.

It's how I imagine crafting & inventory management works in canon, it compacts everything you put into there into a tiny package, but it can be unzipped at anytime like a file back to it's full size.

It still has it's same mass though, so hence why you get over encumbered.

It also feels appropriate that it can be used to explain stat level ups, they aren't upgrading your character, it's upgrading your implant.

It can store data more efficiently, increase pain tolerance & cardiovascular efficiency. Supply extra oxygen to the body to supplement air from your lungs, increase tolerance towards the elements & tranquilizers by injecting minor amounts of compounds that help with such scenarios, even being able to reassemble matter into another form more efficiently (crafting).

It's a truly marvelous piece of engineering.

But there are still plenty of unknowns about this surrogate brain that holds out Engramic Memories.

As for things like storage or screams after death, you have to separate game mechanics from lore. They do store memories, as thats how you are reborn with all your memories every time you die. But for the actual brain processing, thats still in your head

Additionally, Meeka, who is CONFIRMED (just looked it up) to be Santiago's Daughter, also has a specimen implant.
