That is the only creature pre-Lost Island that was not entirely confirmed as canon, besides the zombie wyverns (which I doubt would ever be canon, in any potentiality) as far as I know, so I have no idea. Context clues indicate that the other free DLC creatures would have also been included in the sim for fan's sake, but obviously they came out post-Gen 2 and it would have been a little strange and may have broken things that they wanted to just leave alone

They were originally tested out in the Genesis Engine back when the Genesis-Ship was being constructed, as shown in one of Santiago's Notes. It's not very important to the lore and only serves to tie the ARKs to the Genesis-Project further, but it's pretty cool in my opinion.

Another thing to tie the two together is the fact that the Magmasaur was supposedly tested on Scorched Earth before it was launched into space, but it was removed beforehand, becoming relegated to the Genesis-Simulation as far as we know.

Pretty much, there was a big town, the ARK didn't like it because the Survivors were getting too complacent, so it sent Mantises to wipe out said town, it didn't work, then Wyverns were spotted for the first time (they supposedly attacked ANOTHER town on the other side of the desert), and then after all of that the ARK said 'screw you in particular' and sunk Nosti into the ground. And that other, relatively unimportant town I mentioned.

Nosti is actually one of the Caves in Scorched Earth too.

I don't remember which one, though. Anyways, I don't recall whether or not the Wyvern Trench was there before Nosti was destroyed, or not.

They aren't canon in a literal sense. The information is wholeheartedly canon (iirc), but the act of going out and getting the Explorer Notes isn't. At least that's what the Theory Server has decided on, considering the Notes are mostly just exposition, and don't fit into the timeline at all. Only like, 3 of the Notes do.

Example, HLN-A gets Helena's memories between Gen1/Gen2, but we don't get grabbed, quick take a break to go through TI-Ext for HLN-A funnies, then go back, get grabbed again and dragged through.

The information is solid, the Notes themselves aren't. Except maybe the only Santiago Explorer Note on Aberration, or the Santiago Notes on Extinction.

I think the final Gen2-Chron Notes Santiago has on Extinction are cool. But man, they don't fit his character well, and they drag on what was supposed to be a sad scene.

Not directly the same, each ark is unique, some likely are more jungly, some may be more lava covered sense the volcano likely erupted but the ark keeps it stable so its not a dome of toxic smoke. But they general shape is similar to one other.

The oceans and dunes acting like warnings to make you not go toward the barrier. The islands method to ascension being at the center of the map and in the notes scorched changed it sense the ascension cave was within the Colosseum in the dunes.

But the point is, each ark has its own layout but they all have their own style, likely most arks have more dangers sense scorched showed more danger sense people were settling down and the arks destroyed the one city in the dunes (i forgot its name, i know it started with a N) they arent all the island, they all have their own unique layouts sense aberration before the surface was burned was really different to the island in shape and it had underground caverns that are super open unlike the islands narrow caves

And with him so far away it disconnected him from the overseer role and thats why rockwell isnt 'immortal' anymore

The fact that being an overseer makes you immortal is honestly both terrifying but also sad sense rockwell gained so much power that the system registered him as a worthy candidate for the overseer and it revives him after he dies, basically making him cursed with immortality but theres only 2 real times he actually died on aberration, the first being after helena and mei both knock him into the depths and later on us ending him in the boss fight.
