yep. theres an issue with hibernation that can cause resource nodes to just get deleted from existence. unfortunately on console theres no fix for it but you can turn resource respawn extremely high to decrease the chance of it happening again. using refertilizer also works if you know where the resources were

use save and quit every once in a while too. if the game corrupts and reverts to the last save, it'll basically revert to the last time you opened ark, not when you saved the game using saveworld or autosave.

I am reaching out to the Ark community.. particularly those who know about networking.
I have scoured for something with clear directions but have fallen short on this issue...

I have been trying (over several years) to get multiple machines, running ONE instance of an Ark server on each, to push out publicly, from our house network.
The boxes have 8G ram , hence only running once instance of Ark server on each.

I can, no problems, get the initial server out, with 7777, 7778, 27015, 27020 ports for public access.
But anything beyond that, people CANNOT join... they can either see in steam browser or see in game browser.. but it either times out, or instantly says cannot connect.

• I have opened all pertinent inbound rules on each machine. (7777-7782 27015-27017 udp tcp etc)
• Each machine has a different static IP address.
• I do not have access to the router, as its a Cisco Enterprise and requires PuTTy to access (don't ask, not my call), this means my partner is opening/adding the ports... which requires a string such as:
  ip nat inside source static tcp ###.###.#.61 7777 interface Dialer0 7777 (this is one of the calls that worked on the initial server, people can see and join this server)

For the two extra servers I have increased the Server port, Peer port, Query Port and Rcon Port in the two .ini setting as follows:

7779, 7780, 27016, 27021
7781, 7782, 27017, 27022

Should the router calls be:
ip nat inside source static tcp ###.###.#.63 7777 interface Dialer0 7781
ip nat inside source static tcp ###.###.#.63 27015 interface Dialer0 27017 ...etc?

Does anyone know the correct set of calls to get the other machines and servers pushing out to public correctly?

If you do, putting -PreventHibernation in there, never teleporting away from resources and always waiting about an hour after farming to log and this should fix your problem.

So, I have two questions about resources. What's a good way to get metal? I've been farming the 'dragon cave' for metal and some of the outer parts outside of the cave (bottom-left island) but it only lands us about 10k metal max on 2x harvesting. I know the lunar cave is also regarded as a good spot for metal but it's kind of off limits cuz we're on PvP.

Second question, where's a good place for silica pearls? I have no clue about this one as it took us extra long to get an Anglerfish.

Sometimes when I try to trap dinos and fail... do they sometimes attack your other structures (not the trap) if it is nearby? I tried to trap a dino but it got out... and then instead of trying to destroy my trap... it walked over further away to destroy my house.... does that occur often?

So now the tribute tab is essentially a private storage.

imprinting gives stat bonuses to the dino, 100% imprint is 20% bonus stats and 30% damage/30% damage resistance to the rider that imprinted on it. its a good idea to imprint dinos you intend to take out of your base

It’s not about getting kills, it needs to lift and drain a Dino multiple times.
Use like moschops or sth and bloodpacks in its inventory (so it doesn’t hurt the Moschops) and let it lift it until it’s taming effectiveness has reached 100%.
It’ll lose effectiveness everytime it sucks on a player, so get it almost tamed before you start with the moschops or you will repeat this many times

Yes basically, it won’t increase effectiveness a lot so the Dino will get dropped couple times / need to wait for the desmo to pick it up again. Best is to watch it on the tracker.
Don’t think that it will do anything if the Desmo kills the Dino in the process, but haven’t actually had this happen to me yet

In theory yes sure, maybe test it before if the effectiveness will stay up when it kills tho, as I haven’t seen or had this happen yet.

And yep we did it with a single moschops and couple hundred blood bags in its inventory, it will consume those instead of hurting the tame. Might still attack it occasionally instead of picking it up, that’s a bug tho from what I’ve seen

Saddle shouldn’t matter but sure would reduce dmg if it doesn’t pick it up / aggroes onto it by accident.
300 should easily do atm with 3x. I think during x2 it was like 200ish bags for a 150, but I’m not sure how many from the Dino inventory it consumed.
Since you get so much blood after your first desmo, we never really bothered and just put couple hundred in

3 hours later trying to troubleshoot someone's crash, a second reinstall magically fixed it

If I head into Host/Local, they don't even appear in the rightside mod list

After a short amount of time, the game then freezes, and crashes with the same error

I can see the mods when I go to the Properties of Ark on Steam, in the Workshop tab below DLC.

Yeah you most often see it while it's trying to install them, with the download it's trying to use being corrupt. It's less common to see it on load (but still happens)

Spawn mods should be small, so you can do them all at once. If the creature mods are adding new models and stuff, then they'll take a while to install, though creature edits aren't usually huge

I don't, you don't need to write it though, it copies to clipboard when you exit (also saves a text log)

Bad name index is generally a dodgy mod download (and rarely a core game file), so you should full re-intsall mods (check pins for how). make sure you clear both folders

I don't have any of the ark dlcs, and due to this I added extra levels for my character up to 200, and it didn't work, so I thought maybe I needed to have a code for my dinos as well, so I added the same level level ramp override for my dinos up to level 100, and my dinos are gaining the 100 tamed levels but my character is still capped at level 115, is there anyway to fix this

Mutation Stacking - I have a 0/1 male giga (health mutation) surrounded by several 0/0 female gigas to farm eggs. I see lots of additional patrilineal mutations for males in the incubator (To replace the male breeder of course). The additional mutation(s) is shown, but the previous health mutation is not present anymore. I have dealt with this problem for months now and I want to know what I a doing wrong, because clearly I can't stack mutations correctly.

Ummm, so u host it and people can join (your friends etc) but there will be a tether distance, it’s kind of like a leash meaning that you can’t get a certain distance away from the host.

Does anyone have this problem i load up ark normally but when i try to join a multiplayer server i get kicked back to the main menu, i can only play singleplayer and thats it, sometimes when i try to join multiplayer i even get connection timeout (sometimes) anyone please help me i cant enjoy ark anymore :(

unofficial or official server dont work?(main reason are plenty mods for unofficial and other reason could be your internet fluctuation or not enoght pc resurces

Try launch Ark with low memory,should do the trick,after game loads will take a minute or 2 to load all textures but connection should be possible

everytime i join my singleplayer who have mods it crash my game, first time when i played (launched) i played with 10 mods and after that i removed 1 because i didn't needed it. Yesterday i wanted to play it and it crashed and i had to remove 2 mods so i can play it and i wanted to edit my settings when i edited i couldn't join back because it's just keep crashing and crashing i really don't know what to do but i don't to remove all mods...

Preventing hibernation fixes resource and dino respawn bugs, and allows buff-based mods (that apply their mods only in specific circumstances) to work, allows the S+ dino finder to work properly, and I do highly recommend running with the launch paramater. But I do have to warn that if you later re-enable hibernation (remove the launch option), it can cause crashes. This seems to be able to be fixed by launching with the launch option -nodinos and dinowiping, but I've not run any save like that for an extended amount of time so I can't say if it's 100% effective in the long term or not.
You'll need to add it to the steam launch paramaters- Right click on ark on steam, properties. Add exactly this- Hyphen included- -preventhibernation
It also increases ram usage quite a bit, but is very much worthwhile
