the 7900XT has been plagued with stability issues since launch due to the weird asymmetrical chiplet design (that no other GPU uses), i have seen a lot of people have similar issues with it in ASA recently

that is not remotely how anything works. if it was accessing invalid memory, it would clearly say so. driver timeout means.. exactly that. the GPU froze or took an unfeasibly long time to do something, so the process was killed

that can be caused by driver issues, hardware instability, or sending nonsensical/impossible workloads to the GPU

Hoping ark will update, the update rolled out before it was announced here, and up untill today i have had 2 weeks with no update problems.

an access violation can mean trying to access an uninitialized pointer, a released pointer, or out of range memory, which can be caused by corrupt files, corrupt memory, cpu errors, bugs in the software or other software, kernel level software issues.. basically the most generic and vague message you can get from a computer

if you get a bunch of different errors, that is a bunch of different issues (or severe memory corruption), not one issue picking different errors out of a hat

disk write errors can just mean steam unexpectedly ran out of space, not that your SSD is dying in a fire. worth checking it's health reports and benchmarking it, though

can also be caused by weird crap like a different program keeping a file lock on something it needs to delete/write to, or shitty "anti"virus

if it is faulty, probably best to detect that and warranty it while you still can, some models only have a year warranty

So dumb Ark question. Have a ton of hours in ASE, just got ASA for PS5. I have a single player world in Astraeos with mods and now suddenly on world load it crashes unless I remove 3 mods.

No other changes besides a world save/exit and then a reload about 20 mins later occurred - except there may have been an update that was installed.

I'm thinking if Ark did update then it likely messed with the mods which then screws the world up and the solution is just waiting until mod update but if it's some other known/unknown issue then I'd rather just restart then mess with it more.

The three mods that I can remove and then the world loads are cybers structures, Dino depot and utilities plus. World will now crash with them enabled but loads ok with them disabled.

To build a snow owl trap in Asa I just put 4 stone gateways next to each other and then a gate on both ends.

You can also set your Dino to be at the closed end of it so it will stay there and make sure the gates aren’t set to automatic.

Jelly fish generally spawn anywhere (in the water). If you're on singleplayer, your spawns might be borked. Try doing a dino wipe.

Titanomyrma spawn just about anywhere, but more commonly in the redwoods I believe. You can find chitin a bit easier thru Trilobites in the shallows of the beach. Keratin is decently dropped by carbos, the turtles.

If you get 100% taming effectiveness they will get 50% extra levels which will get dumped in random stats. After taming the bonus they get per level in a stat will be a percentage of the post tame stats. The percentage also varies depending on the stat and the creature.
In regards to bred tames they also can get a further 20% bonus to most stats with a 100% imprint and this affects the bonus you get on level ups.

I wouldn't recommend it unless your on PC or a server since its best done with ini setting changes. But you can alter wild or tamed dinos damage and damage resistance. However its highly recommended to adjust the bosses so the change will be countered so they stay same as default.

It's a glitch with critters that have 0 level ups in HP iirc. You can remove them by force taming has admin, sticking in cryo and throwing them back out.

It keeps uninstalling for me. The past few days during the event every time the servers go down for a minor update or they push a patch, its getting deleted and then refusing to reinstall, stuck in a permenant half state.

When I start again it ususally places the last server I joined at the top.
If not then try join last server button. If not try logging into the server you joined from.
If not you must have had some reason from join ing that server. A trade, region etc. look for that information to narrow it down. Good luck.

Okay, I have a problem. I'm trying to help someone on server 5555. I load up my character, upload it, and go to download. I choose my spawn location and rather than confirm my downloaded character, it wants me to create a new one.

I back out to the menu and come back in. Same thing. The game refuses to acknowledge my uploaded character and wants me to make a new one instead. I go back to my home server, 5008, and have no issue downloading my character. I still have everything on me, all my dinos, my base, ect.

I try again. Same thing happens. Instead of going back to 5008 again, I try going to my Lost Colony server. Would not let me download my character and sent me back to character creation like 5555.

My main survivor did not transfer to my server and I tried downloading survivor but not showing me on Rag I don't recall loading survivor there only on my Astraeos if I'm not mistaken. Hi everyone, I'm playing on the official server, and I decided to fly between servers and look for giga, but just now, all the inventory that was loaded and stored in the transmitter disappeared... The character also disappeared, but I was able to find it by restarting the server a few times. • Have a stack-able structure (like thatch pillars) on your hotbar
• Have more of them in your inventory. (Either grab some from storage or a creature, or split stack from hotbar)

Is that how it always worked, even back on ASE? I remember I was able to use the scanner on singleplayer back then, and it seemed to work smoothly and pick up dinos across the map.

yes. it was never possible. that was presumably on a server. it only became possible to force server-like distant spawns recently, in ASA, and it makes the game unplayably laggy

best you could do in ASE is make stuff not despawn after you leave the area, but you still had to go there to have stuff spawn

Oh, yeah, I remember flying around the map to get stuff to spawn.

But my issue isn't actually with a lack of spawns to track. It's that the UI for der dino finder just isn't showing up at all, even through commands, after making sure it was installed correctly.

it got worse for me, i noticed my 4 other characters are gone from terminal as well as i made one for all the maps i played but keep them in upload since sometimes wildcard will remove server only to STILL have my characters gone, also all my cosmetics for all the events i worked hard for to unlock are gone too, I was so looking forward to this weekend, I am surprised at how devastated i feel but all my characters had everything unlocked and lots of effort went into that as I am solo so its negotiating and trading my way to still lose it all

I don't have Astraeos but from sound of it the Hydra boss has the dragon burn effect. If that's the case it's going to be really difficult to take it down with Rexs. You'll be better off with Therizinos and veggie cakes.
