I had a CRAZY modded version of the center and now I can't even get 30% of the mods I had downloaded on the center without it crashing on even the attempt at opening the mf. Probably why I'm being so stubborn with getting rid of certain mods

But there are a couple things i know that may help. If any of your mods havent been updated since the lost colony patch (sometime in December) they could have compatibility issues with the game right now due to some complicated jargon about some mod service.

Another thing is to disable dupe checking

Nah you dont have to be dismounted for those, they just happen in certain locations randomly (unless youre doing a mission)

When you get close theyll speak to you regardless of if youre mounted or dismounted, but only once. Uploading and downloading your survivor would probably reset them

Hey y'all my kid's been playing ascended on xbox and is trying to get started on the ragnarok map. He usually spawns in a few tamed dinos, materials, etc to start cause he gets frustrated with the early game gameplay. He uses gmsummon for dino spawns but the command isn't working on this map for ANY dino he tries and it's not giving us an error message or anything either. Anyone know what's going on or how to fix it?

I have the game and all the mods downloaded on my desktop and it works flawlessly. When I try to login on my laptop I get multiple crashes to the desktop with an "exception access violation error". It's a random percentage per craft. At level 100 you'd probably max out around a 40% bonus, but I'm just guessing. Even max level characters still have a chance to roll a 0.3% crafting bonus roll, but the max percent they can get is higher. Hopefully that makes sense

Any1 else having the issue with wild dinos despawning? We are using Dino Finder on our servers to easily locate creatures we want to tame, but since recently, there is a good change that the create will disappear once youre in a certain range. At that point, the marker of dino finder also disappears.
While i cant confirm for 100% of the cases, in some cases the despawn was even seen directly by player.

This happened very rarely like 1-2 months ago, but now its almost as if every 3rd creature depawns.

Neither of those worked either. We've tried a couple other dino spawning commands too but I don't remember which ones. It seems to be just anything that spawns a dino at all regardless of what dino.

I ususally wait until the character download to there server. Then my base doesn’t spawn in and I have to log out/in for it to spawn in.

Sometimes I can get the game through the download screen faster by pressing the Xbox lighted X big button and going ti the Xbox menu. Then it sometimes downloads the character to the sever.

Anyone else having this problem, I play single player and I can’t join my astraeos save, I load in and the second I’m about to load in, it crashes my game. Upload it with a transmitter, download it again, apparently they only spawn resources when close to where they spawn(or are downloaded).

Since the update on ASA yesterday, half of our cluster's maps have empty storage, like most of the vaults, fridges & cryo fridges, that were once full, are just completely empty now... Has anyone else encountered this?

it is basically broken, a different studio took it over and lobotomized it. freezing on launch and failing to load are both common issues. you can stil play the "old" working version by switching to "pre aquatica" in the beta version options in steam's settings for the game

No you're not the only one, I get same issues, Astraeos I stopped playing it because it lags a lot for call it a fun map as it used to be before the DDOS attacks, and now Lost Colony I was doing great until tha Maj came out, now I even crash doing outpost by my own with only 3 players on the server ( like odd use to do on Astraeos ). Can't go into city, can't fly around with Maeguana, can't not even do an outpost without crashing twice specially at the end, already lost lots of loot because I crash twice at the en and by the time I get back in outpost timer it's over. Even when I transfer to my other maps I get at least two minutes for character to download into game. It's really sad the way things are turning for Ark... 😔

Here's the full context. I have a dedicated separate computer set up to host an unofficial ASA server. If I don't Port forward through my router, the server shows up in the menu for everyone, but no one can join but me. I join and have a flawless connection and no lag. Once I open the ports, everyone with the password can join and they all report zero lag or rubber banding. I join and lag when opening any inventory, switching weapons on the hotbar, and have constant rubber banding when trying to move 5 feet. I'm trying to connect via IP address hoping that it might fix the lag issues. I'd rather not open up my 24/7 to whoever scrolls past it.

you have to open ports for people to connect on those ports, that is how the internet works. no way around that. it has nothing to do with lag/performance and little to do with security

you cant join ASA servers (properly) via IP address, though. if this is on the same LAN, something weird is going on regarding your connection to the server

Yes, I'm aware that's how port forwarding works. I'm stating that even with no ports forwarded the server still appears in the list and I can join and play with zero issues to give context to why I'm frustrated. I have several other survival game servers I host and I have never encountered an issue like this before. Every other game server runs flawlessly with ports forwarded but ASA.

you dont understand what port forwarding is, then. it is irrelevant to your issue. you are on the same LAN as the host machine?

it is probably some weirdness with hairpinning, or something silly like bad direct wireless connection instead of going through the gateway

I'm not wireless. Both machines run solely off of Ethernet. I have verified multiple times that if I remove the port forwarding I can join via the menu and play with no issues. If I open the ports then I have lag. I've changed it multiple times to verify. If it is something weird with my gateway, where should I look or try to diagnose issues?

if you are on the same LAN as the host, your connection to the server never goes through NAT or needs port forwarding, since it never goes outside the gateway. just not how anything works. do you have double NAT/know what that is?

due to how ASA's server browser and joining works, it is trying to connect to your WAN IP, and relies on a feature called "hairpinning" for that to be possible, basically detecting an attempt at connecting to the outside of your LAN from from inside, and translating that into something sane. some older/weirder routers may not support it or handle it in a normal manner

opening the ports should not be able to impact it at all, but if something is doing hairpinning weirdly, it could be interacting. i have never seen that happen, but there are a lot of funky routers out there

also what some routers call opening ports is.. kind of not actually opening ports

tplink deco is not a specific model, but most of the stuff called that appears to be mesh boosters, not normal routers..

quite possible it is just a bespoke piece of shit and cant figure out what it is doing with multiple ethernet devices

Ahh gotcha. That's interesting. In my defense, I had no hand in setting up this network or even have access to it to do the port forwarding. I moved back from college and have had to ask dad everytime to mess with the ports. Like I said, the other games have had zero issue so I was going insane trying to figure out where to even start.

I think i figured out the problem, on single player Xbox If the amount of dinos spawned on the world increases past 7000 or 8000, it will crash when trying to load in even if you are playing fine with that many Dino’s spawned in, I use der dino finder to track that, however is there is a way to do a dinowipe on single player without join then that should fix it, but idk how so as of right now I can’t play my extinction save or astraeos, which sucks cuz I was getting ready for the king titan boss on ext😢😢🫠

Sounds like you need to verify your age with PSN. If you're under 18 get your parents to do it. The age restriction stuffs starting to kick in so people under 18 are starting to lose access to a lot of stuff with gaming.

If you've already done it check your account settings to make sure you haven't accidently restricted certain content.

Not entirely sure how it is with PSN but guessing it's similar to xbox thanks to the brain dead online safety act. Your real age doesn't matter if you haven't verified your age it will treat you like a kid and heavily restrict services including access to content created by other people which includes mods.

I've noticed that if at any point even a single foundation is either too high or too low to place. It wont actually place your template down even though it says it did (invisible) you gotta find the right spot for everything to actually fit or it wont build

Ok, for those who are interested, it seems the information about HeliSetSuccessRateCap values is inaccurate. Everywhere i located with information on the line said the values were -1.0 - 0.0; stating 0.0 would disable the cap and allow for 100% suc rate. That didnt work. breed a male from both mutated sides, he will have stacked mutations from both pat and mat sides, breed him to a clean female and it will put all Muts back on pat side

It wont reset really, but what will happen if you breed to a clean 0/0 female is all mutations will be on the pat side (so 34/20) and 0/20 on the mat side. That will allow you to continue stacking muts from mom

So its good to have 10 clean fem for every 1 male

you will have your Mutations stacked over 20/20 which will limit your statistical chance of getting additional Mutations, but all Mutations will be moved to one side of the line (Patrillenial) and then you can stack Muts on the female side

but at a reduced rate

You just keep the same females and when you get a male that gets the stack you want you pop that in as the new dad with traits. If you get the right stack on a new female use her to breed until you get a male egg from her with her new stacked mutation

Its easiest if you start them at lvl 1 bcuz every mut that stacks you can see easily. Pro breeders will tame cap with their breeders and traits and try for double/triple mutation stacks lol

Im assuming you havnt done tek cave but if you have, tek binos will help you along. Higher Melee is better for dunk, anky, rex, theri and anything else you want to use to smack things around. If youre focused on running bosses I recommend focusing rex, theri and either anky or dunky to get them maxed (idk what sp max is)

100ish points in HP and 200ish points in melee is good for bosses on Rex, same for theri. Maybe less in hp and more in melee for theris with a 300 armor saddle. For dunky try to max out melee which would be finding a 50+ point wild dino, taming it perfectly to hopefully get around 60+ base and mutate 254 points into melee for a 314 MD base. Rest in weight (if 362 is max that means 58 points in weight.)

Are you searching all four mountains? That's where they spawn.
Are you getting carchars? They share spawns with gigas. Kill carchars until a giga shows up. Though I've noticed with mine, the carchars spawn in faster than the gigas. I probably have to get rid of a dozen or so carchas before a giga will spawn in. Gigas are just a slow spawn.
Also if your PC can handle it, run the game with -preventhibernation.
Could also do a dino wipe (destroywilddinos command) and hope one spawns in then.

Your xbox players might need to check their accounts privacy settings. It might be caused by the one that restricts access to user created content. It could also happen if they haven't done the xbox age verification yet. I've got 33 mods on my server and all but 3 of my players use xbox.
