I am currently trying to load into an ark server with mods, everytime i load in though the mods arent loaded and when i try to spawn i get a black screen and its like my character isnt registered, ive tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game and the uninstalling and reinstalling the mods, ive verified my files, i have a 3060 and 16gb of ram, thats not the problem because the game has ran completely fine in the past with medium to high settings, ive moved to my external and internal hard drive but nothings worked, the only way ive solved this problem in the past is by completely resetting my computer and ive done it again recently except the problem is still here, yes ive tried a host dedicated with the same exact mods and i loaded in fine, i also load fine into other servers and when i load in on a different steam account it gets rid of the problem temporarily but the the next day i'll try to load in and i cant load the structures or the server so I will have my body killed but then the same thing happens, mods dont load, character doesnt load and i eventually lose connection. I just need help trying to figure out the problem because its starting to happen on other servers and its making the game unplayable

If you can connect to one server that uses the exact same mods, but not the other, it sounds as the problem is with that server. How many mods are we talking here? Cause 16GB is low if we are talking many mods. Do you already have all the mods installed when connecting to the server? Or does it say it needs to download mods during connection? I have had problems with timeouts when downloading mods during connection. Try manually download them before hand.

if it's exception_access_violation with an address that's all zeroes, switching graphics drivers might fix it

holy moly, a Level 450 Wild Carchar gave my Veilwyn 860,636 XP 🙃

860.5k xp = 65 levels

I pumped 64 into weight and left 1 level

after Evolution, it now has 20 levels extra to spend

so that's 19 levels extra just by evolving with Ascended Vulpite

when I evolved my Veilwyn that had the xp but didn't level up anything, the Solwyn lost all of its xp

you're actually lucky that they currently don't spawn in Single Player

I used a mutated basilisk and some tanky stegos for the fight

1. Make a backup before starting the fight which ya can do from the Pause Menu

2. bring only what's absolutely necessary to do the fight, leave everything else including cosmetics back in your base, the less items in your inventory and hotbar, the better

3. when the boss health reaches 5%, immediately head to a safe corner and start shoving your inventory, hotbar and armor slots into your mount, be completely naked just like when ya first spawned in

4. once the boss is defeated, immediately head to the loot crate, take everything and shove it in the same mount, pet shoulder if ya brought one or the nearest tame and don't forget the cosmetics as well

5. dismount from your mount and throw any pet shoulder if ya brought one then stand still and wait for the ascension cutscene to finish playing

6. after ya respawn your character back be it on the same/another map or Extinction, immediately start spamming the option button after downloading your character, ya want to save the game as soon as possible, don't even let the spawn animation finishes playing because if the game crashes here, ya will lose your character

7. to retrieve your items, simply head back to the boss Terminal and retrieve your creatures

I can't guarantee that this will stop that bug from occurring but ever since I started doing this, the instant death thing only happened to me once when I defeated the Manticore and that was because I panicked and ran out of time before I could grab the rewards from the loot crate

luckily, ya done need to do this for Extinction because unlike previous boss fights, ya don't teleport to a special arena so once ya defeat it and grab the loot, ya can just leave the boss area before the Ascension cutscene starts then respawn your character for the new implant

You go to config files, then go through the path --> /arksa/ShooterGame/Saved/SavedArks/. Then head into the folder named after your character's designated map (where it currently is) (Ex. TheIsland_WP or LostColony_WP). That's where you will see .arkprofile, .ark, and .arktribe files.

They can just copy the .arkprofile and/or .arktribe files and paste them to you via dms or email

If they are dumb enough to delete the files, then everyone will lose their characters (just an educated guess since I'm pretty certain .arkprofile holds everyone's character data.)

there's an advantage with gestation based creatures in which that, they require less maintenance where as with lay egging creatures, ya have to the take egg, put it inside a Gigantoraptor, Egg Incubator or throw it into your hatching ground

Hey everyone, after X months I’m back at ASA. Since I saw that there’s something “new” with Lost Colony, I wanted to try it out, but either I’m a bit clumsy or it’s meant to be this way. My previous tries looked like this;

spawned on a field with half a dozen Carnosaurs - RIP
tried to hunt a Dimetrodon for meat/leather, got attacked by its entire family
a Managarmr felt the need to use my provisional base as a trampoline

+2 tries where I instantly froze.

yo for someone who playsd with max difficulty as in level 300 wild dinos, what amount of stat points should i look at for a good dino, as in if i want melee should i look at 50+ or 60+
but say i have 60+ after tame is that good or do i want these stats before tame

no you'd put that in your GameUserSettings.ini file so it applies by default (using OverrideOfficialDifficulty=10 for example for max wild level 300). That being said, only do so if it improves your gameplay experience. if you're finding it hard to knockout/tame creatures and see no tangible benefits to the higher level, leave them as is it's somewhat more balanced. (personally I only increase max levels when I play overhaul mods).

a way to find higher level creatures without messing with max level I tend to prefer is using mods that impact the general wild level distribution (e.g. Vanilla with Sprinkles). Helps have higher level spawn more frequently (particularly helpful on maps such as the Island or Lost Colony)

yep it's just affecting the distribution on wild creatures level. If I recall correctly the Island is set to 0.5 which is low compared to other maps. If you set it to 1 nearly all creatures are level 60, 100 or 150 (and like, nearly lower and next to no other level). If you want mostly higher level but a bit more random spread, try0.8

you add the OverrideOfficialDifficulty entry to the GameUserSettings.ini file, that will ensure it's constantly applied (each level = 30, so for max wild level 300 set it to 10). Then do a wipe.

and yes if you install Vanilla with Sprinkles, go into the settings, you'll see a wild level distribution input. Set it to 0.8+, do a wipe, and you'll start noticing much higher level on average (still within the max level limit)

really depends what you are trying to do. If it's just vanilla gameplay, yes it does reduce the need for mutating, due to stats scaling.

For example:

• with max level 150, your tame comes out at level 224 (74 level above wild). Say you add 40 mutations, you gain 80 additional levels, you're now at 304 (so 154 above wild level)
• with max level 300, your tame comes out at level 449 (149 levels above wild). That already is nearly the same level difference after your 40 mutation. The way stats scale increases that even further

all in all though, I think you are possibly over-complicating your playthrough. Optimizing and min/maxing everything is when you've run out of other things to do/discover in my opinion.

Hi! Quick question about the Drakeling on Lost Colony: how exactly does the “Native Biome Boost” buff trigger? the native biome triggers in snow biomes which believe it or not, there are places in Lost Colony that aren't considered Snow Biomes

the best way to check if ya are in the correct biome is to have the Drakeling on your shoulder then fly around the map until it shows up

ya can identify the end of point the biome when ya see a timer appearing below the buff which indicates that ya have existed the snow biome as such, the buff will remain active for the next 3 hours or until ya respawn your character

Okay, so I run two dedicated servers that are clustered together. Whenever I transfer my survivor from my desktop's server (the host server) to my laptop's server (the destination server). it works and I am brought to the respawn screen, but when I press "Respawn (Random Location)," it kicks me to the character creation screen. From there, I am able to press "Respawn existing survivor," but the "Respawn (Random Location)" button is greyed out. When I try relogging back into the destination server, my survivor isn't there, but if I join my host server, I am able to spawn my survivor back in. Anyone have any ideas?

Im on Xbox, dont know if that matters but everytime i get this game delete and redownload. I go to unnoficial servers and it only shows me a limited amount and I know theres a lot more. Its shows like 32/28 or 29/28 ect. How do I see every server and why am I not?

Just logged back in, mana lvl 10 with its baby had spawned inside my base.. While trying to kill that messages starting to pop up from my cryolos dying to a lvl 50 rex.. then the next cryo.. then the 3d.. They had teleported trough 3 stories of my base and under my base where a rex and an ossidon was spawned in.. Why tf does my dinos randomly teleport under my base.. Not the first time it happens.. Lost my 48weight mana to this sht aswell....

the further a wild creature is away from its original spawning point, the more likely it will despawn on Single Player so unless those beavers all happen to spawn nearby enough for ya to move them in together, chances are, the next time ya come by, the ones ya plucked and moved will most likely despawn
