Is anyone else experiencing the invisible building bug. All vanilla structures and ASR structures disappear as soon as you leave render distance(which is normal), but then when you return its gone. Anyone found a work around for certain Tek engrams not unlocking? I've beaten all the alpha bosses on the island half a dozen times each, and even used console commands to try and resolve the issue but seemingly nothing seems to be working. Yes, and takes forever to load back in. We found a workaround last night though; if you go to where the invisible structures are and go into orbital camera and look around, everything suddenly pops back into view. You will have to do this every time you come back to the area, but is definitely better than waiting.

its 12 days, and if you mix structures they will still retain their individual decay timer leading to parts of your base decaying earlier than others. So the worst thing to do (decay wise) is to build a wooden floor and then have tek walls and ceilings built upon it as the whole base will get destroyed once the wood decays after 8 days

When the world starts it is mainly lower level dinos. You have to play a bit and let time progress so the lower level creatures get killed and replaced.

Did they lower the mutation chance on dinos? it use to be around 4 percent but for quite a while since around bobs tall tales was released i get maybe 1 mutation per 100-150 eggs. In order for me to get a mutation i want takes 4-5000 eggs which is insane. Yes i know how breeding works and mutation counters and how to correctly do mutations

I've tried what you suggested disabling HLOD within ingame settings and gameusersettings.ini which did nothing. I think this is just an issue with the game the devs are unlikely to even notice this

Did they lower the mutation chance on dinos? it use to be around 4 percent but for quite a while since around bobs tall tales was released i get maybe 1 mutation per 100-150 eggs. In order for me to get a mutation i want takes 4-5000 eggs which is insane. Yes i know how breeding works and mutation counters and how to correctly do mutations
A bit more clarification i have all clean females and 1 male. I switch out the male. Im not even up to 20 mutations and have nearly a year in on this line.

If the foundations are clipping into terrain you need to turn on the setting for "structure placement collision". If that isn't the issue then you can try what RED said.

I believe it defaults to off. You only need to worry about it if your foundations clip into terrain where you would normally build a wall. I also believe you have to change it before starting the game. 🙂 GL

Nah, not stupid.
You have to turn off your ps5 and wait, till its completly turned off. Then you connect your Controller with a cable with the console and press and hold the PS button. You will hear the usual starting Sound once immediatly, when you press the button, and then the same Sound again a few seconds later. Then you are in the savemode of the ps5 and there you should then find the Option to empty the Cache of games

I'm still trying to find out why my game doesn't have any clouds. It's not a command or an ini edit and I've tried reinstalling the specific DLC maps that are affected and updating my drivers. I've also tried verifying files.

In case someone is also looking into ways to fix the stutter after recent updates (since ~valguero)
- no command fixes it
- no graphic setting fixes it
- changing resolution does not help
- (yes game is installed on primary ssd, and has ran stutter-less for hundreds of hours before).

~~I tried lowering resolution a lot, all graphics settings on Low, using image scaling, setting the shader cache to unlimited. I could get 60-90 fps easily (sure it does not look pretty), a GPU utilization under 40%, cpu well under 30%, and still had constant stutter (every ~3s). ~~

~~Tried deactivating mods, removing all structures, cryopod all creatures, did not help. Tried deleting my save, reloading the map, same stutter. ~~

~~Tested on Valguero, then on Astraeos, consistent stutter on both. ~~

~~Out of curiosity, tested the Center since historically it was the worst performing map for me pre-Ragnarok, and to my surprise: absolutely 0 stutter. ~~

TL/DR: Stutter observed on Valguero, newly on Astraeos, but not on the Center. Could be related to new weather system or new textures, with no fix identified yet (other than playing on a map that does not use them).

=> More than anything, spawns over time will unavoidably lead to memory leaks, and to insurmountable VRAM exhaustion. No amount of settings tweaks or command will fix it. A dino wipe immediately resolves it.
=> Based on fresh sessions tests, it does feel like the spawns are far more memory intensive/prone to leaks after ragnarok/valguero releases. I had never experienced this during previous playthroughs of Island/Scorched/Abberration/Extinction.

to clarify: under 40% utilization was on extremely low resolution with worst possible settings and all commands possible. Not representative of a viable gaming experience, but more so meant to validate that gpu overuse is not what leads to the stutter. In normal conditions, gpu is used at 80-90%+ regularly.

As for regular use fluctuation: yes it does up and down a fair bit, can easily range from 70% all the way to near 100% (if I use settings too high for what I should be using)

in this case GPU is for sure the bottleneck, ram and cpu far exceed it in terms of specs, hence test to lower all graphics settings, use commands, lower resolution beyond reason to under-utilize it within the context of this test. Game looked awful, but that allowed to confirm that gpu utilization was not directly related to the stutter given that when under-utilized I was still stuttering as consistently as in normal conditions.

test on the Center with 0 stutter point towards map specific components (even tested with a mix of Medium to High settings, still no stutter)

excluded loading: I can load Astraeos, stay idle for like 20min, and look at a windmill and you'll see the animation "freeze" every ~3s. from nvidia overlay the fps don't actually seem to deep (or it's not reflected) during the stutter. It's like a micro freeze, every ~3s.

and to clarify: when playing normally, GPU is not dropping below 80% or so (unless just looking at the sky).

framegen disabled, all settings to Low, resolution usually works fine on 3840x2160, tested as low as 1600x whatever it goes with.

image upscalling tested was the nvidia one from their control panel, usually don't use it and of course tested without it.

as for other reports: I did see some after valguero launch and sporadically since. i did not notice it for a long time because I usually put Steam offline for about 4 weeks after major Ark updates to allow for stability patches.

About the freezing: audio continues, it's the visuals that stop. Freeze is fairly short, but noticeable.

anyway I'll just continue my tests on all maps. Could not be weather or textures, i just thought it was odd that I played Astraeos (mod and paid versions) on vanilla and overhaul playthroughs multiple times, never had a stutter. Now it's as bad as what I experience on Valguero.

ran msi afterburner hardware monitor. loaded Astraeos, then the Center. Using ~Low-Medium settings mix.

Worth noting: on both, I was in VRAM exhaustion scenarios.

• on the Center, GPU usage was clocking 96% (I could also see a decent amount of Shared GPU used, but 0 stutter)
• on Astraeos, GPU usage sank to ~67%, shred GPU usage went up slightly (roughly +0.3 gb). even GPU temperature went down.

I still think there's a chance this is related to recent changes, given that I never experienced it on Astraeos until the weather and textures recent updates. It could just be that both require more vram, and my gpu is finally past the point of being at all viable even with commands and low graphics settings.

I think on Astraeos/Valguero the GPU usage will go up once I start actually doing anything but it's clearly far past the point of having enough vram and even if it shows 80-90%+, it's heavily relying on shared gpu memory to "satisfy" the requirements

will do more test tonight to finish figuring it all out, just not looking great for me

edit: I notice some texture reloading over and over, which would support a vram eviction loop and cache trashing. also would align with the issue being new to Astraeos after recent texture changes.

soo im on the island and just found this blue line of cone like arrows going upward from the ground in south zone 1 and goes up into the sky extending to the redwoods, when i try flying up to follow it the line, it vanishes and reappears when i land back on the ground where its shooting upward from. never seen anything like this before.

I thought the template hammer would be something to add a new level to builds, spent a few days gathering everything for the large Viking longhouse. Auto build keeps being random, putting whichever pillar where ever, random roof pieces for roof vs stairs, and then never finishes building because there are upside down railings and that can’t work. Try to manually build it and when I pick up pieces they completely disappear from the world! Do any of the templates actually work or is the hammer trash?

i tried to update ARK: Survival Ascended today and it keeps saying “Not enough free disk space” even though I have over 320 GB free. The update is only about 17 GB. I really can’t reinstall the whole game because my internet is super slow. Has anyone had this exact same issue and managed to fix it without redownloading everything? Evening folks of WC, just a quick question, I'm playing an overhaul mod on Valguero map Single Player, I noticed today when trying to level speed in my dinos nothing happens, I've shut down the game, updated mods, uninstalled then reinstalled them in the exact order they were in, still no changes, which has led me to assume its an actual game issue, Im able to level my own speed which is even more weird, any help on a fix would be appreciated as speed leveling on dinos is a must with this Overhaul mod.

I don't know what happened, but after the last update, something is wrong with the maeguans. My maeguana is level 362, Range 3000. It feeds almost the entire map along the radius. So, I have this strange issue. I've been getting nearly constant crashes on astraeos, not the issue but would love it fixed, eventually, with lots of saves managed to get off and on to rag with some of my breeding line Dino's. I can now get back on astraeos, it just crashes when loading, again not the issue. What it seems to have done whilst I tried to make my escape, is upload my characters profile every time, sometimes twice. So I have now reached my maximum profile upload limit, which means I can transfer anywhere now. Does anyone know how I can get rid of all these unwanted profiles. Single player on ps5.

Hello, I’m trying to figure out how to make the most out of my gachas. I live in hard UW in an unofficial cluster. My question is what can I do to make production better? I know my server (6037) isn't the only server that crashes. Is there any hope that either nitrado will upgrade their server's RAM or y'all at WC can somehow reduce the drag Astraeos servers have on RAM/CPU? The issue seems to keep getting worse... I know my server is only up for about 3 hours at a time between crashes. I'm losing baby dinos while servers crash not to mention the impracticality of running purple drops past wave seven... near-meaningless by itself, and unlikely to be a problem with the game. corrupt/outdated mods are the most common cause of random access violations

could also be memory corruption or other hardware failure

in most cases, 00000000/ffffffff addresses are compatibility issues/bugs with mods ect, high random addresses are often corruption

that is high enough to not be a legit address, but who knows what the virtual memory paging is doing down there

the reason is because the game cant politely stop crashing, save the game, then resume crashing

saving often causes crashes, if you are on a low memory console with too big a world

It happens on every map it has nothing to do with map size Atleast not my crashing. I assume it is over population on the server. The more creatures on the map the more data on console when out of range Dino’s hibernate but don’t actually despawn so when you travel to a high clutter area the console has to instantly load all that clutter at once. I personally think that is the true issue.

"big" as in too much stuff, structures mainly. large bases, cryopods, ect. hibernation despawns stuff, that is the entire point of it. also not used on servers, kind of unclear what situation you are talking about

but the map definitely matters, some will crash regularly on series S due to having higher baseline memory use, others rarely will

the game should really not be on series S at all, but microsoft requires it

I have tried regular Dino wipes but that doesn’t seem to work. BTW I play on single player no longer on official. My buildings ar kept minimal. I play on a Xbox series X with an additional 2TB storage. I run 0 mods to keep it as close to official as I can

It happens to me about every 10-20 min really bad if I’m trying to build something. I have tried most of the optimizing video’s I watch but nothing seems to work. I didn’t start having any issues until the update to bring astraeos ever since it is a consistent crash and rolls back. I even try to force save by logging in and out every 20 min that seems to help just sometimes will crash before the 20min mark

Crashes most when traveling over cave locations. If I go in them the are so overcrowded hundreds of spiders and such. Also deep sea is way over populated. Scorched it crashes during sand storms really bad. I can’t even enter the caves on a few maps val underworld will crash the instant I enter.

that is the opposite of what most singleplayer users see with caves not spawning stuff. are you using the prevent hibernation mod, or any mods at all?

No mods at all have up with them got tired of having to redownload them every single update. Also the corrupted save issues if one got removed. I just stick to the basic game with the expansions.

1 : Can't start the game at all, just straight up fail to launch game
2 : Can start the game, join the game, harvest the tek corpses and then crash

looks like it is the nahimic gaming audio service or whatever basically acting like a virus, and the game's anticheat sees it acting like a virus and fucks off

get rid of that crap and install your actual audio chip drivers, and see if it still crashes. if so, come back with that error

also, are you on v360+ or v358?

latest is a crack fanfic by a different studio, switch to pre-aquatica/v358 in steam library, beta settings

if you are in singleplayer at least. and most good servers are on 358

Is there a known issue with FSR frame generation? If my character isn't moving I will get these white dots flash on the screen really quickly ever couple seconds. While moving it doesn't happen.
It does this in Windows 11 and in Linux Cachyos with 9070xt. I've also seen it when trying it on a Linux Mint with a 4060 and set to FSR and frame generation on.
If I turn frame generation off it doesn't seem to do this.
