I have had the same thing happen from time to time on my private servers, on nearly every map, and that is why I now grow plant y traps inside my bases. They will take care of any unwanted pests as long as you are not building in a locatio where alphas spawn. I also find it a good idea to have a few guard dinos running around set to neutral. anything aggressive that comes in gets chompped

on Ragnorak I set my main base for breeding and such up on the island in the far northeast where it is all herb eaters just to avoid any possible dino spawn issues like random raptor. There my y trap plants are great for flying pt-pest control. I set a few pyros on neutral in the base and just gather the free jerk every few days 🙂

Hey everyone, I’m running into a problem on my server and hoping someone can help.
When I load into Ark on PC, I can create a character just fine, but as soon as I hit respawn it goes to a black screen. After a couple of minutes, it kicks me back to the Home Screen with the error “Connection to host timed out.”

I’ve already tried the basic troubleshooting steps (restarting game/PC, verifying files, reinstalling, checking server settings, etc.), but nothing has worked so far.

Has anyone else run into this issue, or know of a fix? Any help would be awesome.

I was just about to log into ARK, and when the menu normally only has three options, there were two more: Bob's Tales and Lost Colony. I didn't think anything of it and wanted to log in, but as soon as you click on server selection, nothing works anymore. After three attempts, I finally managed to join from the main menu by selecting "Join Last Game." When I logged in, I realized that I can no longer pick up my Drakling. I can no longer access the skill tree for Lost Colony. It says I should buy the DLC. I bought it and have been using it the whole time. I play on PS5. What happened to ARK now?

I can only find 2 people online having that error. one was corrupted server files, the other was mods.

if you can do a full erase of save data, try that. but it just seems to be bugged. PS5 as a platform has no formal mod support, so wildcard had to cook up something bespoke with sony's oversight, and it is very restricted and problematic

well, i navigate to the files, click ark and it opens the steam launch window, so something is going through the steam app, and if not, then i should be able to uninstall steam and launch the game. the assumption is: i click desktop icon or root file and launcher window opens, it goes away and that's the end of it. worst case, wasted a few minutes more.

actually with complete testing i capped 9 steam forges on my center server then went back to my main astreos server and capped 2 more. the 2 on my astreos server burned one element cooked 1/4(ish) of the metal then turned off. the 9 on the center server cooked all 4 element and all 300 slots of metal. anyone know whats going on?

They are different in how they work and have their own advantage/disadvantage. A server will have less issues with dinos spawning in the world and clusters work differently for example.

Oh also the loot boxes work better on a server. In single player they don't spawn as well. You have to be near them to get them to spawn.

Have the devs say anything about the Lost/timed out connection to host? Its something that is going on for a LONG TIME now (got worse after Ragnarok release) and cant find a real solution. This could be a desynchronized issue. I used to have it in ASE a lot when I was in creative mode. Basically you aren't where you think you are. The solution is to kill your character. I saw it so bad on another once they their character was still lying in a bed and try they were walking around. It's kinda like spectator mode😆

And yes it happens occasionally in ASA. I have had it happen on official pve before. Which was very frustrating.

If tribe governance has been messed with this can happen. Like if it goes from personally owned to tribe owned the structures built by you personally often leave with you but then if you didn't merge tribes or another random things happens this can be the result.

It also could be that the tribe intentionally tried to let you keep your stuff but by not being upfront about kicking you they actually created chaos 😆
But since you were the leader probably not😆

Also did you NAME the tribe? I have seen this happen when I never named my tribe and left. Was on a arkitechts event server.

Sometimes, when the mod update is not "sync' between servers, we have the error message "Attempting server travel" : "This will cancel your transfer connection and send you to Main Menu. Are you sure ?" and we don't have the choice, we need to go back on the main menu and reconnect to the base server to transfer again.

but the thing it's just not allo, all creatures with pack leader buff, hyanedon, raptor, deinonychus, xiphactunus, dinopithecus, shadowmane, ravager and direwolf, they all get +50% damage and + 25% resistance as long as they are the higher level on a goup of 2 or more (some species the alpha needs to be a male), and the pack mate buff that the alphas of the pack can produce (raptors, deinonychus, shadowmane, direwolf) also give +50% damage and + 25% resistance.
for the pack mate most wiki entries don't give values, the only one that does is the direwolf in the howl description https://ark.wiki.gg/wiki/Direwolf#Active. (side note the shadowmane page doesn't even mention pack mate)

I think it’s too deep and if you are in the arena these suggestions won’t help.

3. You can try whistling for it to follow to a cliff or slope where it might come out.

I think after 7 days of no one being around tames dinos despawn. If not it will eventually starve.

It comes and comeback but at the end of the day there is a big problem with unpoding very often.
The creature unpoded is making some crazy jump and randomly going to the left or right or front or back but it's a pain. A real pain.

With a tribe 1x is easier, but i would say anywhere between 1-5x is a good rate. Any higher than 5x and you lose a lot of the challenge, although even 5x can still be quite high in some circumstances

Disabling cloud and fog is worth it generally but might not stop a crash. It might be that you’ve joined a server with a lot of builds on it, or with mods that PS doesn’t like that much. If you’re playing PVE, an unofficial server that doesnt have loads of mods, and has lowish rates, may be easier

I keep getting a message pop when I try to transfer but download a mod for the map saying attempting server travel
And in small text under it this will cancel the transfer connection and send you back to the main menu are you sure and I can't back of it I have to click ok and and have the game shut down and uploaded my character then go back into the map I wanted to transfer to and sometimes download my character again or it just let's me bypass that and select a bed to spawn at if I've got one on the map

Were running an unofficial dedicated cluster, and currently we can only have 3 tek bunkers per tribe. Does anyone know if we can ovverride the Tribe limit for tek bunkers?
(We have tried leaving tribe, but after placing a bunker that person can simply not accept a tribe invite anymore as long as the bunker is up)

Hi, I use a private hosting to play ARK evolved and I had a general question. I’m trying to build a base from a YouTube guide that uses triangle foundations. However, when I check the engrams tab, I don’t see a triangle foundation engram available. Most sources I found online mention that once you unlock the thatch foundation, you should have the option to learn the triangle foundation at level 11, but I don’t seem to have that option. Could you help me understand what might be causing this issue?

Correct. For breeding I stack inherit melee 3 x 3 and robust melee 3 x 2 to get 5 traits. On anky I have stacked mineral 1 x 3 ( as I have not been able to find any higher traits to date). Ect.
