I have found out the cause of my game breaking freezes and FPS drops. Some custom cosmetic mod was causing it. I checked this evening the installed mods page, and saw over 50+ custom cosmetic mods installed in there. So I uninstalled them all, again disabled auto download of custom cosmetics, and now game runs smooth as before

Yeah... I didn't expect to have so many of the custom cosmetic mods installed on their own. Now auto download of the mods is disabled, and game runs smooth as butter, no freezing areas.

Don't know which one exactly was the issue, and don't know which modes were installed, since I uninstalled them all at once trought "installed mods" page. All I know is that those all were custom cosmetics or custom skins, which were auto downloaded from official servers, bcs I haven't manually installed any mods.

Glad that you have your problem sorted out too. Well, the mod is not "broken" for the dev and the people who have the hardware to run the mod in its full glory. It is broken for us who have hardware that can't run all the options that mod is using (some type of reflection, lightning, etc), and this problem will occure in the future again, since there is not any real mod testing on a large number of different hardware, to see if compatibility is good with everyone.

yea i would get weird fps drops that would crash me with the battle eye message about the client or the no response etc until i managed to get out of render distance of certain locations often near a heavily mod/skinned base, also loading in was taking like 5 mins, removed all mods except the club ark one and i didnt have a single crash and was able to bump my settings up, also structures were slow to render like old ark now they insta appear i think the mods arent optimized and its doubling the req for vram as if its considering the skins a double render along with the base structure or if its just memory leaks

sorry to bother you again, but I just found out that I couldn't open the boss portals from my tek transmitter because I'm on the center... derp. I went back to the island on my alt character there, spawned in a transmitter and gave my toon the tek engrams to test it out and had access to the portals from my base. When the character data gets too large (larger than the size of the buffer) and/or cannot be processed fast enough, it causes an overflow (the Outgoing Reliable Buffer Overflow error you are presented with in-game).

Move your Ark game files to a faster form of storage - If it's on a hard drive (HDD), move it to a Solid State Drive (SSD)
Lower or wipe your character's inventory.
Try using a mind wipe tonic, transfer character, then relearn engrams once the transfer to the other server is complete.

all you can do is try them. if your pc is crashing repeatedly, something is badly wrong and should be addressed. it will keep crashing otherwise

computers should not crash at all, once a week is a lot. and frequent crashes usually mean damage that is likely going to get worse if it's cause is not fixed

any hardware failure or other sudden shutoff will mangle or destroy data that was being written at the time of the crash, and if the failure is related to memory or storage corruption, you could lose more than that

Swamp cave has a pretty decent rex saddle drop rate. It would probably take less time than taming high level megatheriums, raising babies for imprint stat boost, and creating saddles. Do you have a decent yuty to buff your rexes?

Does anybody know what might cause huge FPS drops in Ab servers specifically? On single player I can run the map on high/epic settings with a massive slew of mods at a smooth 80-90 FPS without issue. On multiplayer, every 5-10 seconds it will jarringly drop down to 5 PS, making it borderline unplayable. I have a 4080 and 36 GB ram, my memory seems fine— it only ever really takes around 50-60%. It also freezes at the same rate even if I use all low settings on the servers so I don’t think it’s a graphics issue.

The fps drops don’t seem particularly dependent on location either. They happen pretty consistently every 5-10 seconds or so regardless if I’m staying put or traveling.

There's a bug where the game/server thinks your character is not what it is supposed to be. Think of it as your character having an id# of 123 then for some reason it changes to 000 so pretty much anything tied to id# 123 your character cannot "access" it.

In your case, the tame is looking for a character with id# 123 to give it care but since your character's id# doesn't match, it is treating it as if it wasn't the character to imprint it.

Relogging tends to fix it though sometimes you have to close the game because when you try to select "join game", you get a "you must be signed in to play online" message.

I ran in to that issue myself. I put more fire places or ac. Whatever you’re using. Acs are the best because it is a more stable temp. Building a hut for the eggs to keep the temp will help too. Light one at a time till health does not deplete. At least that’s what I did.

That would be more than likely the time of day or night. That changes the outside temp ether lower or higher making your egg to hot or cold. Keep an eye and use a few ac units. So you can adjust for ambient temps. Scorched earth is a big one for that. Night can be really cold and day really hot. Sometimes night time can be comfortable and day as well where you don’t need as mean or more running.

No they don’t. It’s better to have it tho for the tame you are taming. It makes it tame faster so your efficiency will be higher giving you stat boosts and level boost. Prime meat works well depending on tame. Make sure to have the correct quality of kibble. It’s very helpful to have and be able to make. If it’s a tame you really need to for it.

It depends on the tame. A giga will give more than a Rex in meat. For an example. Best way for meat would be a chainsaw it harvest fast and can give tons. I used to have a character that had 500 lb carry and I would max that and some depending on what I killed and farmed. Argy is great for carrying heavy tames and objects. Not the fastest nor can they fly the farthest. I would prioritize them for your farming. Carry an anki and farm metal. Try a different tame or use tools that are more effective for the materials you want to gather. Axe for wood. Pick for thatch and metal. Things like that. Also the quality of the tool matters. White would never be as good as a higher quality blueprint.

It’s been two days since I downloaded the update and I am having significant issues with seeing engrams in my crafting stations. In ASE I have BabyImprintAmountMultiplier=1000 to make my babies only need one imprint but it 1. Keeps deleting it even when I save it in the INI and 2. The Babies only recieve 1% imprint per cuddle.

Ugh- I got everything reinstalled from the mod space update, finally, went to open Temptress Lagoon to continue world building for a RP server I'm doing a quick test run for and the whole game kicks me to my xbox menu. I open one of the other maps, scorched Earth, and my character looks like a head-shaved monk with the long strands of hair dangling at the sides. I'm mostly bummed that I can't open Temptress- I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the game, I've tried removing the mods and installing them again, nothing fixes it! Photo mode doesn't work anymore either. I can play, obviously, but my main thing for ark is the versatile world building you can do! With my chosen map, Temptress, it's just complicated where it shouldn't be...

Anyone else having these problems or is it just me? Or is it an xbox specific problem?

I'm an RP server owner and modded servers seem to be crashing Xbox players a lot since this new update. Looking at modded creatures triggering graphics-intense ultimates and lots of mod structures being within render seem to make you guys much more likely to crash rn.

I'm a PC player and my game also freezes when I load in half the time since the update. I'm having this issue specifically on modded Aberration, but I'm sure other vanilla maps would do the same to me.

Yh every time I change the settings I completely close the game and use task manager to make sure it’s closed and I’ve bred about 20 rexes for testing and keep only getting 8% per imprint

You have to render everything in for spawns to show, but normally up to 30 mins for spawns to "fix". If you're on ASA, you can use the prevent hibernation mod to get around keeping things rendered for spawns.

The mods page on curseforge has a fair few users mentioning it having issues, I don't know if it's the mod or user error. You should only have to load the mod. You can use Der Dino Finder to check, but without ini settings it won't usually show all creatures on the whole map.

if you have hibernation disabled then yeah, its because none exist on the map just look at the total dinos scanned if its not in the thousands then hibernation is still there and it requires it to be in render.

I’m having an ongoing issue that has persisted for three days thus far after the recent update.! I play on a Series X and the problem I’m having is while looking in crafting stations None of my engrams have been showing up? I did assure that my engram button at the top was under “show engrams” and that “all items” at the bottom was showing but for some reason on regular vanilla, including our modded, I’m not actually able to see any engrams I’m level 103 on a pve community server and they’re not really sure help me because no one else is really reported the problem.

We have mods on the server like ASR and Aa and I’m not able to use the crafting stations and see engrams. I have tried to uninstall them and put them back on as well as completely uninstall ark as a whole and download it again but I’m not having any luck

We did try to do fast travel via bed because that can sometimes fix what’s going on with your person but it all stays the same

Your not the only one. Its a rampant issue . Its not video card drivers as i have a nvidia. People on steam also have longer wait times for some reason. Bugs reports have been submitted but i have not seen anything from wc acknowledging they are working on a fix.

Can someone please tell me if wc did any sort of UI adjustment to consoles? When using the cursor it used to sorta stick to certain button which made it easy to navigate the menu (main player inventory for example when you select crafting for example). Im not sure what happened but its really hard to navigate now i feel drunk. The speed didnt change.

There are typically four ports available on a gpu and that's where the connection goes to from ur monitor

How are people on The Center servers, particularly PVE ones finding the lag and rubberbanding since the last two updates... The one on the Weekend to fix crash issues and the one today?

For me, it's horrible and worse than ever. I would actually prefer to have the server crash over constant rubberbanding in place and the lag issues.
I can't even pin point the cause, as the ping goes up and down a lot while in game. But in particular areas around the swamp it will lock me in place so I can't move and it takes a long time to move forward.

When loading into the game, it is taking twice as long now and skin have a 50% chance on whether or not they will load. My base doesn't use a lot of skins, only here or there, but other people's bases I've noticed don't load their skins most of the time now.

I don't know what they did, but I almost prefer a full server crash over what's happening now. As it is, it's near unplayable for me. I won't take dinos into the Ocean with it lagging out like it is, and everything else isn't becoming worth it.

NA-PVE- The Center 5611 is a dumpster fire right now.
@carmine lance please have your devs look into this. I did take a video showing this happening just before your Update today, but the same thing is happening after your update, only worse and in the same spots.

Whatever changes have been made since last week need to be reversed. With the exception of the full on server crashes, I had no issues playing even during the Event when it reached 4+ harvest rates.

Hey! We got an Island dedi - and a base on the tiny herbivore island in the south east. When flying to the main island - for three out of 7 of us - the client crashes every now and then when we reach the coastline (like ~1km away from the herbi island). Usually resulting in a loot loss as after relog there is no death waypoint / no carcass. Very frustrating! Server has only one halloween mod enabled. Any idea how to fix this?

So, what do you need to do to get your servers to show in the "Unofficial" search. I can search 3X servers by typing "Shinma", and they will show both locally and remotely at that point, but in an alpha search etc. you don't see them?

And they've been up for 87 years at this point.
